Which under house rules is a miss anyhow :) though at DC 6 that's zero successes.

Michele holds on as Dunstan struggles to break free!

Michele is struck, hard, by Gunther's blade on the first swing. The second he resists, but the first has taken its toll. You take 5 Health Levels of damage, that's -2 to your Dice Pool until you heal.

Feeling your grip slack, Dunstan attempts one final time to break free!

ST Shadow ONLY:
Dunstan - attempt to break Grapple - 5d10 + 3 ⇒ (4, 7, 9, 7, 4) + 3 = 34 = 6 Successes!

Marco Querini Soak - 3d10 + 1d10 ⇒ (6, 7, 9) + (2) = 24 Geoffroi's attack deals 7 Damage! Incapacitated... Then he heals 6 Blood, abck up to Bruised.! Frenzy Check! Self Control - 2d10 ⇒ (5, 5) = 10 Whoops!, He's in Frenzy...

Cantor Attacks Geoffroi - Claw #1 DC 6 6d10 + 3d10 ⇒ (2, 2, 8, 9, 1, 3) + (7, 4, 6) = 42 - HIT!
Damage - 5d10 + 2d10 ⇒ (4, 8, 8, 3, 9) + (7, 7) = 46 - 5 Aggravated Claw Damage!

Cantor Attacks Geoffroi - Claw #2 DC 6 6d10 + 3d10 ⇒ (10, 3, 4, 10, 2, 9) + (7, 8, 7) = 60 - HIT!
Damage - 5d10 + 2d10 + 3d10 ⇒ (2, 8, 8, 6, 10) + (2, 8) + (9, 4, 8) = 65 - 8 Aggravated Damage!

Michele, you need to make another Strength check, this time with -2 to your dice pool, you will need 6 or more successes, to maintain that Grapple.

Geoffroi swings his blade once and it looks like a practice swing it misses so wildly, or maybe it's just because he was setting up his second attack as it connects with Marco Querini with a resounding crack! Michele, you feel your cousins grip go slack as he slides off of your back.

Michele, you are no longer grappled.

Perhaps reflexively, Marco's body heals almost all of the damage done by Geoffroi's sword strike, he pops back up, eyes red, fangs out, blood dripping from his lips. Whatever reason was in his eyes is gone, this Whelp of all of 30 minutes of unlife has had his first Frenzy...

Cantor's eyes go wide, he seems torn between aiding Marco and attacking one of you, "Damn you for forcing this to blows Querini. I'll not attack a Scion of the Camarilla, so this Errant Knight is fair game", he snarls as he attacks Geoffroi.

This time, the Gangrel's fury tears into the Salubri Warrior. His dadly claws make contact with Geoffroi's undead flesh rending him...

Geoffroi:
Those were some nasty rolls I had! First Attack is 5 Damage. Second Attack is 8 damage! I believe you still have enough BP to use this round to pump your Stamina to a 6. This is literally enough damage to kill you. My recommendation is soak the first one, you will have 6 Stamina + 3 Fortitude + 2 for your Armor. 11 dice total

For the second, use that optional rule that Alessandro found and spend 1 more BP to autosoak the first 3 damage, then roll Stamina of 6 + 2 Armor, the Fortitude cannot be rolled as part of the auto soak option. Doing that brings that second damage total to 5 as well.

Let's see how this plays out!

End of Round 2. I will await the result of Michele's Resisted Strength check and Geoffroi's soak before I start round 3.

Finally, well finally for Dunstan, he is able to break the grip of the transformed Michele. Luckily for the Setite, that was his last gasp for the moment.

Cantor has claws, Cantor knows how to use them, but Sir Geoffroi, he knows how to fight. A dip of the shoulder, a slight tilt backwards and two strikes that would have felled a lesser warrior scrape off of his armor. Granted, those claw marks may never come out, but it certainly gives the armor character!

Geoffroi soak in full, no damage!

Ranerius - GO!
Giovanni & Dunstan -
Lorenzo & Alessandro -
Onfroi & Michele -

Lydia is still on the ground, very still.

Bassanio's face becomes even more pale, he lets go of his blade and raises a palm up to Alessandro from his prone position, "I yield!" He is quite clearly on the edge of Frenzy as well.

ST Shadow ONLY:
Bassanio spend 3 BP to heal, down to 6 BP. Self Control 3d10 ⇒ (8, 9, 2) = 19

Veronica, still on fire, launches herself towards the water in mid air and you hear a large "SPLASH"!.

Lorenzo, you take 1 Fire Damage which you can soak with Fortitude ONLY, DC 4. This fire will last 2 more Rounds unless you take an action to douse it. As you are currently ON fire, once again make a Courage roll dc 6, failure means you enter Rötschreck.

As for his own action, Ranerius feels the pain of his earlier wound still lingering, it carved through him like a hot needle through butter.
Okay, spending blood to boost Str by 3. Dex by 2. And Celerity for an extra action
Even as he seaks, the Venice born Toreador strikes at Giovani hoping to injure him then parry any retaliation!
Strike with Rapier which was ruled as DC 5 to attack and Str+1 damage.. Wound Penalty of 1 i think so total dice to hit 5d10 ⇒ (5, 7, 3, 1, 4) = 20
blood fueled Str +1 minus 1 for wounding 5d10 ⇒ (2, 7, 10, 4, 9) = 32 Plus more for extra sux if ht hits at all which I think adds an extra 1d10 ⇒ 5
And to parry (Celerity giving full dice pool) 6d10 ⇒ (8, 4, 8, 9, 10, 4) = 43

Ranerius, the attack misses as there was just a single success.

Giovanni snaps out of the Dread Gaze fear he was under Ranerius' attack attempt. He draws his blade and attacks back!

ST Shadow ONLY:
Giovanni Attack #1 6d10 + 3d10 ⇒ (1, 9, 9, 3, 5, 10) + (9, 10, 7) = 63 7 Successes - 4 for Ranerius Parry = 3 Successes with Ranerius' Parry.
Damage 6d10 + 2d10 ⇒ (7, 2, 2, 10, 9, 4) + (3, 8) = 45

Giovanni Attack #2 6d10 + 3d10 ⇒ (1, 3, 8, 5, 7, 10) + (6, 9, 4) = 53 - 4 Successes.

Giovanni's first attack just makes it around your parrying blade. 5 Damage. While his second attack appears that it will indeed connect, unless you can do something about it....

Dunstan's smile at breaking free from the Serpents grasp turns to a grimace when he sees that the last few seconds have somewhat turned against himself and his Coterie, he pauses. "Coward" Michele hears him mutter under his breath but he acts no fuurther. It appears he will wait and react, instead of act...

Combat Round 3:
Lydia - INCAPACITATED
Bassanio - Surrendered
Veronica - Fled

Ranerius - Attack & Parry You have +2 Actions Left as Your Celerity is a 3 [You can Dodge Giovanni's Second attack as you have that action left (Dexterity + Athletics DC6) OR Parry (Dexterity + Melee DC 6)] that would leave you 1 more action to play with as well.

Giovanni - Attack 2x + HOLD (Celerity Actions)
Dunstan - HOLD!

Lorenzo & Alessandro - GO!
Onfroi & Michele -
Niccolo, Andrew & Gunther
Geoffroi -

AND it makes sense you're outmatched here, he's an Assamite and you're a Toreador :)

Let's do this, as you have 2 BP available this round, just use that to retroactively add TWO more dice to your soak.

Healing MID round requires Stamina + Survival DC 8 (only 1 success needed), BUT if you fail, that 2 BP is spent and you don't get to heal. PLUS, as there's a second attack on the way, that will increase your SOAK IF that one hits.

Male Italian (Toreador) Bloodpool 25? out of 40

I'll do the soak bonus and thank you.
2d10 ⇒ (4, 2) = 6

Well, the die roller is out to get me but we move on. GOing to have to parry because that's still a better dice pool even with penalty than dodge. I had hoped Giovani was still shaken from the earlier Presence 2 attack but I guess that wore off.

Ranerius pumps more blood but to no avail. He parries again, hoping to reduce the beating long enouogh to heal and get help

4d10 ⇒ (9, 1, 4, 5) = 19

Ranerius' voice draws Alessandro's attention and in that moment he realizes the Toreador is in dire straights.

Bassanio. Do not mistake mercy for weakness. You spoke in faith regarding Ranerius. I feel you were drawn into this fight more than had wished for it.

Go or stay and help, the choice is yours... and never forget you continue to exist thanks to Ranerius.

You know I fight for Venice, her beauty and honor. Not for The Elders... but, this madness, anarchy would destroy my beloved.

The Ventrue gives Onfroi a look and turns towards his Toreador ally. Help me with the Assamite... please, Onfroi.

Ranerius needs us.

Think I need to see if Onfroi helps, so hold... also I think his attacks coming first would help. As mine are comparatively less effective and easily dodged or soaked. But, if I'm second we can both be effective... So HOLD.

The swing connects and Ranerius is just not able to weather it as well as he would like. Ranerius take 3 damage. His follow up Parry is feeble and the Assamite's sword connects once more, this time to devastating effect.

Unfortunately, that may have been the best roll I've ever had in the game, with no Potence, that's 11 damage to soak Ranerius. Note that MINUSES to dice pools do NOT reduce a soak pool so you have your full soak. For every Health Level of damage over 7 you take [I believe you are currently at 5 Levels of Damage], you lose 1 more Blood Point. This might put you very low or at zero at this point as you're not currently at 27 but much less based on what was spent this battle, but will NOT kill you. Make that Soak roll and let's see where you land!

ST Shadow ONLY:
Giovanni's #2 Damage 6d10 + 2d10 + 1d10 ⇒ (6, 7, 7, 7, 10, 7) + (10, 8) + (8) = 70

Onfroi Slam Attack vs Giovanni #1 7d10 ⇒ (6, 8, 3, 3, 7, 10, 8) = 45 = 6 Successes reduced to 4 successes - HIT

Onfroi Slam Damage #1 7d10 + 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (4, 7, 2, 3, 4, 3, 5) + (9) + 4 = 41 = 6 Damage

Giovanni Soak 7d10 + 1d10 ⇒ (5, 7, 8, 6, 5, 1, 1) + (7) = 40 = 4 SOAK [2 Health Levels to Giovanni]

Onfroi Slam Attack vs Giovanni #2 7d10 ⇒ (8, 10, 4, 8, 6, 10, 3) = 49 = 7 Successes reduced to 5 successes - HIT

Giovanni Parry 1d10 + 3d10 ⇒ (6) + (8, 1, 2) = 17 = 2 Parry

Onfroi Slam Damage #2 7d10 + 2d10 + 4 ⇒ (6, 2, 6, 8, 7, 1, 9) + (10, 5) + 4 = 58 = 11 Damage

Giovanni Soak 7d10 + 1d10 ⇒ (10, 2, 7, 7, 3, 9, 1) + (2) = 41 = 4 Soak [7 MORE Health Levels of Damage] that's 2 BP destroyed. Giovanni is Incapacitated with 4 BP left in his body and is frozen for 5 turns.

Giovanni pauses for a moment, sensing that he may have to deal with more of the Coterie, but that pause coats him as Lorenzo freezes him in place! Giovanni is frozen for 5 turns, he can act but with a -5 dice pool...

Onfroi narrrows his eyes at Nicolo, Bassanio, and Alessandro, an ever so slight tilt to the head shows that he will indeed comply and he charges at Giovanni, fist in the air. The Assamite tries to Parry, looking like he is moving in slow motion and he gets a piece of it but not all of it. It being Onfroi's arm swinging in a left cross, the Nosferatu slams into the Assamites face with somewhat reduced but effective force. Onfroi comes back again this time with a right cross, once again the Assamite tries to block and once again, manly due to Lorenzo's Necromancy, can only partially deflect the blow. Which is unfortunate for the Assaamite as Onreoi's blow is equal to the measure of the one that Giovanni just delivered to Ranerius.

Giovanni goes down and lays very still.

The Nosferatu turns to Alessandro, "Perhaps feast on this one instead eh?"

Dunstan growls as yet another of his Coterie falls.

Andrew assumes that Onfroi can handle the weakened Nicolo and charges into the final melee. He swings at Gunther and once more his blade rings true! "Get down and stay down Innmaster, this is not your fight! Ta' make no matter wha' Dunstan telled ye'"

Remarkably, Guther manages to heal himself staggering backwards and retorts, "My mother raised a stubborn one Salubri!" He attacks Andrew back and absolutely clobbers the Salubri.

Andrew flies backwards, and lands with a thud in a stunning reversal of fortune.

Ranerius' body crumples to the ground. That's 9 damage post soak. Yu go to Incapacitated and lose 5 Blood Points. How much blood do you have left after that damage and from Blood spent this combat?

Started with 27, then six for the fancy stuff I think at the start. Then -5 for this... so should be at 16 BP I THINK

OK! So not in THAT bad a shape. Next round you can heal 5 and be back up to only the 2 Aggravated Wounds Health Wise. If that is your full round action, no roll required, but you can take not other action. If you want to heal AND act, it's that Stamina+Survival DC 8, 1 Success. That brings you to 11 BP, not too bad considering almost everyone else is at 7 or below.

Geoffroi is aware that the threat of Dunstan looms over him, he like Cantor, decides to just try and eat that damage hopefully without Cantor eating him!

Indeed, the gamble pays off as Cantor can get no purchase on the hand (that does not feed him!)

Geoffroi soaks all damage.

Dunstan, grinds into action striking out at Onfroi first. The Nosferatu anticipating, seeks to avoid, at least that first blow. And so he does. But as you have all seen, the Brujah is just getting started...

His second attack clips the Nosferatu on the left shoulder but Onfroi rolls with the punch. His third slam is an uppercut to the Nosferatu's jaw and while it connects, the cagey old Knight is just able to twist out of the way of a broken jaw. Dunstan's fourth slam comes in the form of a left hook, this time it's a glancing blow as the Nos continues to back away.

Onfroi's experience forces Dunstan to expend his full barrage upon the Nosferatu only, and his last slam goes to punch the Nossie right in the mid section with a straight right arm thrust which brings Onfroi low and to the ground!!!
