"You think any of us have love for our elders other than that forced upon us by the blood?" Lorenzo questions. "After their betrayal?" he adds.

"What you have wrought nearly destroyed only us, not the elders you claim to have sought. Anything further in that direction will only serve that aim, not your goal. We all will be destroyed, and our Sires will simply find new pawns to play their games with." he says to Dunstan in particular.

"We must put an end to this, Ranerius has the right of it. Let us speak with Lord Bion, afterwards if you wish, continue your quest against the elders but leave Venice and her people out of this...your plan lacks focus."

Michele drops his obsfucate.

“Sir Dunstan, let us look at the long view here and do as the other suggest and speak to Lord Bion. Even though an Elder he can be spoken to. “
Michele pauses and looks to his cousin. “Forgive me as I did what was best for Venice and the survival of my house. With what Sir Dunstan has done and changed you we can figure out how this can all work.”

Marco Querini growls, but Sir Dunstan places a hand on his shoulder, "Quiet my Childe.

Alessandro, I know that the Ventrue are paranoid of those who would rule in secret but as far as I know, my actions are my own. Unless of course my Sire or her Sire had cause and information aforehand that Mortal Hunters would descend upon the city like locusts...

You all speak as if I was the one that brought the Hunters to bear.

You were there with me, no doubt heard what I said and what was said to me. I could have asked Claudio to stake all of you and leave you to the sun, instead, I went after the Elders and burned Narses little palace to the ground.

I did not unleash the flood, I merely rode upon its wave.

Let's say I do indeed meet with this Lord Bion, a name I am in no way familiar with. I will be at his mercy should he choose to slay me, and even if he does not, he will agree that we should slay his fellow Elders? Or will he play along with us until such time as it is opportune to stab us in the back!? How can you guarantee any positive outcome from this?"

The Gangrel Cantor speaks, "If you all truly wish a truce, then I propose a pact, a pact sanctified in blood. I'd wager the Tremere could assist with one.

If we all band together than we shall face the Elders together, what say you all?"

Geoffroi looks about, sword held at the ready

“Plots within plots within plots. You Canites have eternity at your fingertips and you play politics like courtiers at Paris “

He looks at the others

“Lord Bion strikes me as one who seems fairly disinterested in power for its own sake. But I am a poor judge of motivations in this changed state”

He looks at Sir Dunstan

“If you are not going to the Pope to reveal our existence, then I am content to part ways in peace. I have no love for cowardly elders, scheming courtiers, zealot knights, or the whole lot. Perhaps I shall inquire of Lord Bion about how one creates a subterranean underwater lair to hide from the world. A few centuries of study would do my soul some good I fain”

In fact, he pre-dates Narses arrival and ceded power as he did not want it, only retaking it to find a suitable replacement following Narses demise. "A direct fight against the Elders is a fool's mission, Dunstan. A fight that will only end in misery for all of us and the mortal populace of Venice. Is that truly what you want?"

The Nosferatu appears though others remain under his cloak, "Absolutely not.

Until Onfroi's aura is subjected to inspection and his mind scoured to ascertain what happened to Simon, there can be no middle ground!"

Onfroi chuckles, "Ah Niccolo, it is you this time.

Instead, I think I'll just root out your entire sad family tree and start my own here in Venice. I've had enough of these accusations, I did not diablerize your Sire or Sire's Sire, whatever he is to you. There is a new order here in the city and you're on the wrong side of it..."

As long as other's needs and desires allow me to continue with my own, an alliance is fine. In my case, I considered Simon a friend and if nothing else I am curious what became of that friend. If this gives me answers or allows me to cross options off the list, so be it."

Turning his attention to the others of his coterie and that of Sir Dunstan's that are visible, "Alliances among our kind would seem to be fleeting, but for anything to happen there needs to be at least a modicum of trust."

Cross posted earlier Lorenzo, I missed yours.

Dunstan chuckles, "No, that is why I sought to use the Mortals to root them out.

They are powerful, but with several of us at once coming after them, some of us may perish but I do believe we can prevail".

Veronica's voice responds to Lorenzo, "A blood contract would indeed ensure a modicum of trust as well as a temporary truce, preventing that truce from devolving into a battle, at least for a brief period of time".

A voice, one that is familiar to Michele and Lorenzo speaks, but one that they've not heard recently speaks, "The Doctor and the Politician are not to be trusted. I am sure it is no accident they were Embraced, they sought this existence based on their nocturnal dealings".

Michele and Lorenzo:
Could it be, is that the voice of Guntehr Thesing?

Onfroi's voice turns to a menacing growl, "You consider Simon a friend? I have been running around this city to assist you, our entire Coterie, and this is the thanks I get, more accusations? It is no wonder your Clan takes the appearance of a corpse when you cross over, you've the warmth of one".

Lydia responds unsheathing her sword, "Have a care of how you speak to Lord Cappelli Bastard of Burgandy".

Onfroi turns to address the rest of you, "What say the rest of you? Are you as distrusting of me as the good Doctor?"

The opposing side remains quiet.

COMBAT BEGINS! I will roll all initiatives, pause on posting please while I get things prepared.

Shadow's Status

A few important notes:

1 - The ONLY visible characters at the moment are Marco Querini, Michele Querini, Sir Dunstan, Bassanio, and Ranerius. EVERYONE else present is still under the effects of Obfuscate and thus would be difficult to attack.

If you attack or take an offensive action (i.e. Discipline), you become visible for the remainder of the scene.

2 - Ranerius AND Bassanio can still see everyone due to their high Auspex.

3 - This is a construction site with some scaffolding around you, while you can knock out some of the scaffolding and potentially injure enemies, you could also bring the entire under construction second floor down on your own heads.

4 - You may flee if you so choose, you are not REQUIRED to participate in Combat.

5 - I will craft a map, likely crude, but a map nonetheless this weekend to assist with this fight.

6 - I will begin posting Lydia's actions tonight/tomorrow (super busy day) then combat will begin, starting Monday I will give everyone two days to post, if you do not post I will bot you to move us forward.

Ranerius just started the battle and already he faces a threat that burns right through him. I did not come here to die!

This time the Dread Gaze is used on Giovanni! "You DARE! A snarl. The toreador is no warrior, despite elders constantly putting him into danger, and in a straight fight with an assamite or brujah he expects he has little chance, but if he can keep throwing minions into fear while the others finish off Dustan, he might be of use yet!

Counting on his unnatural resilience and pure stubbornness, Lorenzo ignores the flames threatening to consume him for the moment.

Creo Ignis (Level 2 - Diff 5): 8d10 ⇒ (10, 10, 5, 1, 1, 4, 7, 5) = 43

Question around Willpower based rolls. I've always assumed that any Willpower roll is based on the the level of Temporary Willpower, but looking through the V:tDA20 book, it implies a Willpower roll is based on permanent willpower - and as a side note beyond the replenishing via playing one's nature, or completing a significant task, replenishes at a rate of one per night. How are you interpreting these rules? I've rolled the above based on Lorenzo's permanent Willpower.

Alessandro loses himself to the dance, his body twisting as his blade darts out to strike at Bassanio.

Melee + Dex, LR, DC 6?: 4d10 + 4d10 ⇒ (8, 5, 2, 5) + (6, 6, 10, 2) = 44
Damage, sword, Potence 1, DC 6: 4d10 + 2d10 + 2d10 ⇒ (6, 7, 10, 4) + (6, 6) + (6, 9) = 54

Pump STR +1 to 4.

Shadow's Status

Alessandro, yes your 10 counts twice. That's 5 successes, so two extra damage on the roll plus the sword is +2 damage. If you want to pump strength for extra damage you can (up to 6 as you can spend 5 BP per turn, so 1 for Celerity and 3 for Strength, you could pump one into Stamina for some extra soak. Pump to stats last the scene). If you DON'T pump, the damage is 3d10+2d10+2d10 + Potence, which is 1. For each dot you pump in strength, that damage increases by 1 for each dot. 10's won't count twice on damage as your strength is only a 3.
