They were rejected from the Pathfinder Society! They will save the day anyhow!

Cinematic Opening

It’s been a discouraging trip to Absalom for you. After applying for the illustrious Pathfinder Society at the Grand Lodge, you’ve been gathered into a rather nondescript room by a lieutenant you haven’t seen before, a Garundi woman in a trim and officious outfit. ”It is my deepest regret to tell you all that the Pathfinder Society has chosen to not admit you as Initiates,” she says in crisp tones, to an answering chorus of grumbles and moans. You can tell that there’s something misfit-like about the group you’re part of, but you can’t quite put your finger on it. ”However, if you are interested, we do have a limited term of opportunity working at Sharrowsmith’s Exports. A barque for Nantambu leaves in three days; please sign here if you are interested. Please understand this is a limited opportunity…” The rest of her warnings are ignored as you and others eagerly sign up.

On the voyage to the Mwangi Expanse, you and your shipmates hear a rumor that an Aspis lodge in Oppara has fallen…and possibly a Pathfinder lodge? But these are quickly forgotten as you head up the reddish, churning waters of the Vanji River, heading steadily to Nantambu...and discover new events. Rumors of attacks on multiple organizations. Fires in the night. Chaos and dissensoin. Along the way you see a burnt out ruin, and deckhands hiss in surprise. ”That was Whitebridge…more Aspis getting taken out,” says one of them, and spits off into the water.

As the ship continues to plow upstream, you find yourself wondering…just what in Golarion have you gotten yourself into?

Quick Pitch

Hi folks! This is a recruitment for Pathfinder 2E Scenarios chosen from The Year of The Open Road. We will start with The Mosquito Witch.
The conceit, as you may have gathered, is that you will be doing Pathfinder Society type stuff, but not with the Pathfinder Society–more like with a scrappy bunch of rejects.

The scenarios will not be played in PFS mode, though, and we’ll be playing with the understanding that beginning players are very much welcome to the game (and I haven’t GM’d in PF2E yet, so we’ll all learn a bit together). Paizo has a lot of new players coming to it and a dearth of PF2E play-by-post games, and so this is me throwing my hat into the ring.

The fact that these are shorter scenarios means that people can join and play a scenario without committing to the years-long time frame of an Adventure Path, and also, players can potentially come and go (ideally not, but it happens) without too much discontinuity.

About Your Humble GM
I’m technically a grognard, dating back to 1e, but oof, I am not and have never been a rules encyclopedia. ;)
I’ve been playing PF1 since 2012, almost entirely on Paizo boards, and mainly as a player, although I’m GM’ing a long running Reign of Winter Game. I am no expert on PF2E rules, but hey, we’ll learn together.
In real life I’m some sorta Social Justice Bard/Druid (free archetype, I guess).

Game and Character Specifics

The party size will be 3 players, or maximum of 4. This gives everyone spotlight time and keeps us from waiting on anyone.

I definitely want to get beginners/newcomers in these scenarios if possible. (Maybe you left That Other Game and wanna check this one out?)

3 scenarios = 1 level up, just like in PFS. Well, technically, it’s 4xp per scenario and 12xp to level up.

I’d like a friendly and inclusive virtual table. Your characters might bicker but you generally like each other–lone wolves and disharmonious tropes won’t work.

I like to post daily, with the understanding that life gets in the way and weekends are slower. To prevent decision delay, we may want to work out “hey do we go through that door?” decisions on Discord or in Discussion threads.

With regards to posting, here is an excellent guide about PbP posting etiquette. We’ll be writing in 3rd person present tense–past tense is too weird. For PbP at my virtual table, grammar is key.

I’d like character sheets in Pathbuilder–it’s a great way to build your character and for me to see it.

We won’t have any Rare feats/spells/items/etc at the onset–if there’s something that you really think works for you thematically, though, talk to me and we’ll see.

We will probably use Free Archetype as it’s just a fun thing to explore.

You can choose any Heritage. You can make it work, right? :D

I like some character background, but it doesn’t have to be as long as the 10-minute character background (which honestly takes more than 10 minutes!) Just like the lone wolf trope isn’t great, the sullen orphan desiring revenge is a bit played out. ;)

I won’t require one “wizard”, one “healer”, one “meat shield” and one “skill person”. If we wind up with all rogues, cool.

Submission Details

No need to make an alias just for the application.
Submissions accepted until March 20th; if we don’t have enough by then, I’ll push it out another week.
I’d like a character sheet (doesn’t have to be totally fleshed out)(and doesn’t have to be a Pathbuilder sheet at first) and a paragraph of description/personality and a paragraph or two of backstory.

Thank You! <3

Definite interest here, especially since I've yet to try PF2, and I like the premise. Will work on something, not sure what yet.

Dotting for interest. I’m a long time PF1 player and recently picked up the PF2e from humble bundle. I’ve never made a 2e character, so I’m not really sure how long it’ll take, but I’ll try to put something together soon.

Hey there. I am a pf 1e and 2e veteran. I would like to offer myself should you want a knowledgeable rules person at the table (as a player or even observer). My approach to rules reminding/informing is that it shouldn't get in the way of the game, and the GM is the final arbiter of what is and is not a rule for their game. The purpose is to be helpful, not irritating.

I enjoy introducing new players to pf2e because in 20+ different systems played, it is my favorite.

Dotting for interest. I’m a long time player since the red box. After the recent uncertainties, my PBP and RL games have started to look at PF2e. I switched to 5e and have enjoyed the simplicities. But now have started to exhaust character possibilities. Looking for a good game to explore. Cheers

Very interested in participating. Love the idea of Pathfinder rejects playing outside PFS rules. Longtime PF fan, just not had many opportunities to play in person, and this would be my first play by post game using PF2. Used to play in the PBP rpgs forums popular ten years or so ago, so I'm familiar with third person present tense. Looking forward to working up a character and possibly playing with you.

So, am I correct in understanding that rare is off limits but we can choose uncommon options if they fit our idea? Also, how does a free archetype work? Do you just get the dedication feat for free and still have to pay for the others, or do you get free/bonus feats periodically to use for that archetype?

I think you had me at “Pathfinder Society rejects”…

Rare and Uncommon can be proposed if they fit; Rare will require extra convincing and may not pass muster.

With Free Archetype you will get free/bonus feats periodically. Furthermore we will use the option where you don't have to choose two feats before a new Dedication feat, if you want to accumulate dedication feats. In Pathbuilder this is "remove feat restrictions". So, you'll get a class feat at level 2, and onward you choose. None of this is too powerful and is used pretty frequently in "Strength of Thousands", so I think it will be okay.

OCEANSHIELDWOLPF 2.0 wrote:

It's a well known fact that the Pathfinder Society is a bunch of colonizer Avistanis who steal from Garund, and then place said stolen items in the very poorly maintained Blakros Museum.

Ok, so we can just pick common options without needing approval, we can ask for uncommon options and probably get them if they fit with our character, and we can ask for rare options but they'll only get approved if its a really cool idea? Should we post ideas/requests here or send them to you in private messages?

Also, free archetype sounds like a lot to wrap my mind around on my first experience with all these options, but it sounds pretty awesome too.

I'm not the target audience for this, but I'll offer to help people make characters and answer questions. I'm an "old hand", having completed one AP, am 17th in another, and I'm playing in a few more.

I absolutely love the premise for your Campaign!

Good luck all and have fun with PF2e!

Not sure I qualify for this—I have some experience, but would not call myself an expert: played three scenarios a couple of years ago, then GMed for a bit. If that's too much experience already, please disregard my application.

Since I'm not sure I should be applying, I'll keep things short. My idea for the character is a 50-year-old human who used to be the Grand Lodge's cafeteria lady. She eventually got tired of being considered a second-class member of the organization, left her cooking job, applied to be a pathfinder, and got rejected. She's absolutely fuming, and she has a gun.

Gunslinger (Way of the Drifter), holding a cast iron pan on one hand (light mace) and a double-barreled pistol on the other. Here's the rough draft on pathbuilder: https://pathbuilder2e.com/launch.html?build=357174.

Interesting story, this character Hrimnagel started a PF1e PbP in 2014 with a similar beginning of failed Pathfinders. The twist in that game was they were then infused in something such that the character's received Summoners special abilities. So, I'm rebuilding Hrimnagel for PF2e for your failed Pathfinder game.

He's an Umbral Gnome Mastermind Rogue. I'm updating the backstory and building in PF2e.

cheers

Yes, exactly, with regards to options. In the GM book it suggests that Rare options be offered as a reward for roleplay as one levels.

Free archetype adds a little flavor and isn't nearly as bewildering (to me) as Gestalt, which always felt like characters were slice and dice magic demigods with 4 arms.

I want to clarify that these scenarios are not solely for beginners, so yes, you can totally apply. :) Cast iron pan builds are always fun--I recall a few of them in PFE1.

I didn’t want to ask for anything rare, and I have some other ideas I could work on developing (so feel free to say no), but the first idea I came up with just seems so cool (to me) that I can’t stop coming back to it, so I’m going to ask.

The idea is for a dwarven miner who’s part badger. I mean, not literally part badger, but had a were-badger or whatever in his lineage (that’s where the rare part comes in- he’d have the beastkin versatile heritage). I think he’d be a ranger, with a badger animal companion. The crux of his backstory would be that he transformed in the mine after a cave-in to help a friend who was trapped and after that the other miners were like ‘you have this crazy power, why are you working in a mine’ and convinced him to go join the Pathfinder society. So he went, assuming they’d be thrilled to welcome him and his special power, only to end up rejected with no real plan for what else to do.

Would that be an acceptable case for a rare heritage?

Looks like you’ve got enough interest. I’ll bow out, have fun all.

Just wanted to say that I like loads of applications, and in any case, this will be 'rolling applications' if people want to come in or leave the game on a scenario by scenario basis.

Noted. Thanks for the heads up.

@GM Axolotl- I don’t want to be impatient, but I just wanted to make sure you saw my previous post asking about a potential rare heritage? I really don’t mind if the answer is no, I just didn’t want to start working on another idea until I knew about that one first. Thanks.

Sorry, meant to answer. ALL Heritages are fine.

Oh, wow, awesome! Thanks. Badgerdwarf, here I come!

How do you feel about an evil character that is very much a team player? His motivation is to show the pathfinder society what they are missing by rejecting him. This will not be a crazy or sadistic evil, but more of an evil by nature of a lack of respect for others. He is highly motivated to cooperate with his team to accomplish his goal.

GM I played through most of the playtest and I've made several characters. But that's the extent of my 2E experience.

I have a gnoll Bard (enigma muse) that I would love to submit if that's okay.

May I present Silas Zan, native born son of Absalom and Cleric of Cayden Cailean?
A young man with a troubled childhood and a belief that being chosen by Cayden has meaning that goes beyond doing cheap guarding on the cheaper dockside. Still he has to make a living.

This is was my first submitted build used in a PbP that was brief and ended tragically. But I'd like to play him again.

As to experience to Pathfinder 2e, little, though I have made a number of characters on Pathbuilder 2e.
Much PbP experience on these boards with Pathfinder 1e. General roleplaying game experience is quite large starting shortly after the premiere of Star Wars (the first one made) and lasting to this day with many different rpgs.

I will update the character profile shortly but this link to the character builder is brand new. Mostly updating the change where things like bandoliers, pouches, and scabbards are now just assumed to exist.

Silas Zan

Any questions or comments are welcome.

Sorry, no. No evil characters.

totally fine. I definitely think that the characteristics of gnolls as written in Pathfinder/Golarion are based on old, medieval ideas about hyenas (and even, crocrottas and leucrottas, the mythical versions of a hyena), and as such, can be modified--they really aren't nasty, cowardly, dirty animals.

Looks good. I should have said that adding some reason why you think your character didn't get into the Pathfinder Society would be really helpful. :)

What would Silas think is reason or reasons why he was turned down by the Pathfinder Society? His goto, given his upbringing, would be for reasons of his social class and background. After all he was raised in a cheap dockside house of adult pleasures. It would not be the first time that was held against him. Another reason is that maybe they had enough or better clerics available and did not need him. There are more experienced priests and healers than him and his weapon is not really a good choice for his style of combat. He carries it for sentiment, reverence, and poverty than any other reason. Overall Silas lacks confidence in his societal position and in his unexpected boon of becoming a cleric. Also when he thinks about it, he is clever enough to think that this other offer might be a test of resolve and could result in acceptance later.

Sovereign Court

Here is Pickle Tooth the Gnoll Bard for your consideration.

Backstory:
”...has chosen not to admit you as Initiates.”

With those simple words, Pickle Tooth felt the last of the wind leave his sails. He had been to so many places, spoken with so many people, applied to so many organizations. The Aspis Consortium had given him a chance but deemed Pickle “too soft” for their line of work. The Three Lions Consortium, a trade house in Solku, had not even let Pickle in the door and had nearly had him cut down when he first walked in the door. In hindsight, it probably had not been all too wise to go to Solku in the first place given their relationship with the gnoll tribes.

When he met The Argentate Blades in a roadside tavern, Pickle had thought things would turn around. He got along well enough with the group (even bought them a round of drinks) but by dawn, their leader told Pickle that he was too inexperienced and to “find us again when you have some gray whiskers.”

By Cayden’s tankard! Even the blasted Scrivener's Guild in Absalom had turned him away.

Even when their words were kind, Pickle Tooth knew better. He knew what the “civilized” people thought of kholo. He knew what they saw when looking at Pickle. He knew that no matter how big of a smile he had or how entertaining his songs were, most people still saw Pickle Tooth as a brutish Gnoll while others saw him as just another grinning idiot trying to swindle people out of their coin. Okay, that last one was sometimes true but the point was still valid..

And maybe that was why it hurt so much when the Society turned him down. These were the people who took in all sorts of people. Pickle Tooth conjured memories of his early years in Katapesh. Living on the streets. Surviving off of whatever food he could steal or scrounge from the trash. And occasionally earning a few coins with his music in order to rent a flea-infested bed just to not have to sleep in an alleyway somewhere and dream of being a real adventurer without worrying about someone trying to steal his little drum while he slept.

Deep in the pit of his stomach, a knot formed. It crept up his throat and threatened to break his smile. But Pickle blinked and pushed the feeling back down, down to joining the growing ball of sadness. He refused to show weakness.

And so, Pickle Tooth simply smiled as the woman spoke and decided that maybe it was time to just head home. Time to look for a regular job in a warehouse or in a tavern.

And then another word was said, ”However…”

What a beautiful, magical, uplifting word it was! Pickle Tooth would write so many songs about the word "however!" He caught bits and pieces of what she said next but he did not care. Pickle Tooth signed on while yapping about being an “honorary member of the Pathfinder Society.”

Just summarizing what we have so far in terms of submission ideas:

panegyric - Way of the Drifter Gunslinger/pan whacker
Hrimnagel - Umbral Gnome Mastermind Rogue
Silas Zan - Cleric of Cayden Cailean
Chapel Ty'El - Pickle Tooth the Gnoll Bard
Giant Halfling - Badgerdwarf Ranger/Miner

All really flavorful and interesting stuff, plus other folks expressing interest in playing and/or advising!

Just a note. I switched out the Gnoll weapon familiarity with a hyena Familiar. The familiarity wasredundant in regards to the whip with the bard class.

I've recently gotten into 2e with the humble bundle sale. I've only played in one PF 2e one-shot as an introduction with some friends but I've made a bunch of characters to play with the creation rules a bit. That said, I'd like to submit a (boring) human monk that likes to wrestle.

He grew up in a large family and regularly had to jostle with his siblings to get his parents' attention. A traveling showman came through town one day to perform for some coin. Part of the performance was him setting scraps of cloth on fire with just his hands. Being fascinated with the show and it almost being time to leave the house anyway, he decided to follow the man thinking his family wouldn't notice. Being an unwanted apprentice wasn't exactly everything he hoped it would be so once he learned the fire trick, he abandoned the showman to try his hand at joining the prestigious Pathfinder Society! During the evaluation he regularly challenged his associates to physical contests and often made them participate whether they wanted to or not when he tackled and pinned them. Unfortunately, his fire trick was instinctual when he was wrestling, leaving them with singed clothes. This competitiveness and disregard for the wellbeing of his fellows did not sit well with the observers causing his application to be rejected.

Pathbuilder character

I don't have the full unlock to enable free archtype on the web version but that shouldn't matter for lvl 1 I think.

Chapel Ty'El wrote:

Pickle Tooth

I read a thread on Reddit about a ratfolk with a rat familiar and a rat animal companion and a rat-like Beast eidolon, a leshy with a leshy familiar, etc. So gnoll with a hyena is a-ok!

Haha, natloz, a somewhat overly competitive pyro monk is not boring at all. Sounds like an eager puppy. :D I didn't realize you need to pay to unlock Free Archetype, but it should only be $5 and yes, doesn't matter for Level 1.

@GM: great! I'm just making the final adjustments to the gunslinger (plus a slightly more complete background) and will update the thread with a link to the new sheet.

@Chapel: nice to see you here. It would be nice to play on the same table again =)

Here's the finalised Ethel Ayubu, Drifter Gunslinger: https://pathbuilder2e.com/launch.html?build=364550

Background:

Ethel, the daughter of an Alkenstar brigand with a Bonuwat sailor, was not a well-liked person in the Grand Lodge. She worked hard at it, in truth, taking something not completely unlike pride at treating everyone who walked through the doors of the Grand Lodge canteen with the same mix of scorn and rudeness, no matter how important they were.

But, after almost fourty years of service, she found herself losing her edge. The manifold uses of "f+!@ you, $%#stain" no longer awed her, and the faces of disappointment and disgust at the sludge she served were simply not as fun as they used to be.

The end of her career came suddenly. A new Pathfinder agent had the nerve to come to her and complain about her food, then her attitude. A lot of screaming ensued, followed by: "you idiots think banging monsters' heads is so difficult! Well, let me tell you, I can murder as well as you! Even better! I'll f*$~ing erase you fatkidneyed bastards from Golarion with my greatness!"

That same day she quit her job and applied to become a Pathfinder agent. With limited success.

Why she didn't get accepted:

Though Ethel passed all physical and combat tests with flying colours, her interviews were less than stellar. She might have told a few agents they would soon be eating s~%#. She might also have spat on someone's face when they questioned her bringing a frying pan to a gunfight. In her defence, Ethel's application was also met with some resistance due to people thinking the cafeteria lady out in the field was some kind of practical joke.

Personality:

Ethel's physically unable to go for more than a minute without cursing. She tried saying something kind once, but ended up in the infirmary. She shoots first, continues shooting after, and yells questions under the sound of gunfire at whatever's left standing.

Evil tried getting Ethel on its side, but quickly realised that was a terrible idea and withdrew its invitation. She remains a steadfast stream of chaos, ready to do the right thing just so she can berate someone at how bad they are.

In her free time, Ethel writes cheap romance novellas. The seventh installment of her series on "Philomena, the busty ogress" won the popular vote for Absalom's best romance in 4719.

Appearance:

Ethel has light brown skin and dark brown eyes. Her hair is thick, curly, streaked with white and silver, and in utter disarray. She dresses in a simple purple/violet dress, with leather armour haphazardly worn over it.

I built my character in pathbuilder (although I'm not completely set on his name), but I can't figure out how to get a link to post? And, it looks like the only option for saving is to store it in my browser cache, until that updates... do I have to set up an account for this program if I want to apply for this game or am I just missing something?

For your consideration, Yasdrol Ingothorn, a dwarf wizard.

Pathbuilder

Yasdrol Ingothorn:

Personality:
Yasdrol is intelligent, soft-spoken and quiet for a dwarf, prone to fits of forgetfulness. He would much rather spend his time with his nose in a book than speaking socializing with others.

Physical Description:
About six inches too short for a dwarf, and 40 pounds too light, skin a shade lighter than the normal ruddy dwarf, short brown hair and a short round beard, Yasdrol Ingothorn is a bit undersized. Add the fact that he wears a pair of brass spectacles that are slightly too small for his large dwarven nose, Yas’s is far from impressive to look at. Dressed in simple traveling clothes and a worn leather vest, his only possessions are in a backpack stuffed full of scrolls along with his blacksmith’s hammer and apron.

Backgroun:

Born into a family of devout and industrious blacksmiths, Yasdrol was always a little undersized and frail as a child, particularly for a dwarf. The Ingothorn’s were famous for their excellent metalworking for weapons and tools alike, crafting some of the finest armor, and naturally it was assumed that Yas would follow in the family’s footsteps and become a warrior or blacksmith. And although Yas tried, he found himself turning his attention to books and scrolls, preferring to spend his time reading of grand mages and the studies of the arcane. He discovered he was quite gifted, even if could not quite control his magic all the time. Eventually it got to the point that he was neglecting his apprenticeship and work. He gained a reputation as a bit of an absentminded forgetful, sometimes negligent individual, having burned down the family blacksmith shop, twice. Yas finally decided to abandon his career as a blacksmith and instead travel in hope of becoming a great wizard. And what better place to learn to and master magic than the great city of Absalom?

Upon reaching Absalom, however, things have not quite gone to plan. It turned out to be harder to gain admittance or even considered by any of the magic schools without proper credentials, and any attempts to study new scrolls or magic items seemingly ended in failure more often as not. As a last resort, Yas tried to become an initiate with the Pathfinder Society, figuring that at the very least he would absorb some learning from the many magic users in the society’s ranks, and possibly even gain access to powerful magic artifacts.

It seemed though, that Yasdrol’s forgetfulness and limited magic skill was more of a liability than an asset; after a few errant magic missiles left his first adventuring party stranded on an island up the Lost Coast, and another spell gone wrong resulting in an accidental cave in, Yasdrol Ingothorn found himself no longer welcome at the Pathfinder Lodge…

I added this portrait to the appearance section of my character sheet and following this sentence for ease.

Silas Zan's portrait

I do get an extra language, I'll choose it in consultation with the GM if selected, Absalom being such a cosmopolitan place.

yeah, they are saved in Local Cache in default, but under Preferences you can switch that to save it in Google Drive. To get a link, you need to go to the Share option.

Doing another inventory to see where we are:

panegyric - Ethel Ayabu, Drifter Gunslinger, Pathbuilder done
Hrimnagel - Umbral Gnome Mastermind Rogue, working on updating
Silas Zan - Cleric of Cayden Cailean, Pathbuilder done
Chapel Ty'El - Pickle Tooth the Gnoll Bard, Pathbuilder done
Giant Halfling - Badgerdwarf Ranger/Miner, Pathbuilder troubleshooting
natloz - Mintash, Firey Monk, Pathbuilder done
SgtAJ - Yasdrol Ingothorn, Dwarf Wizard, Pathbuilder done

y'all are going to make my job difficult in choosing from these excellent submissions.

Sorry it seems that imgur has deleted my portrait. I don't have a backup for it do to that Heromachine depends on Flash which has been disabled by Adobe. I'll see what I can do but my guess it will take a while.

Ok, so, you have to get the full version in order to save to a google drive, but I've saved it to my cache and, I believe, have a working link to it. I guess I'll just rebuild him manually in a profile so I don't lose him next time I clear the cache? In any case, Dorgrum Stonebreaker is a meatshield/melee damage dealer, with some utility as a scout type.

Personality/Appearance
Dorgrum isn't short (for a dwarf), but his limbs are so thick with muscle that they make him appear shorter than he is. As is common amongst dwarves, he has a long thick beard which, like his hair, is mostly black. His most noticeable feature, however, is the pair of wide shocks of white hair that run up along both edges of his beard, across his temples, and around behind his ears, and a third narrow band that runs back the center of his head like a mohawk. He is typically a friendly, though gruff, man but is a fierce protector of his friends and family who can be quick to lose his temper if they are hurt.

Background
Dorgrum was born in the Five Kings Mountains, into a long line of miners and sculptors of underground builders in clan Stonebreaker. He studied the techniques of building-carving with his uncle, but from a young age his strength and endurance were evident and it wasn't long before technical training was a distant second in priority to laboring where his 'real gifts' were- in the mines. He spent several years mining during the day and hunting with his cousins in the evenings and on days off, and was mostly satisfied with that life.

That all changed several months ago when a cave-in trapped him and two of his coworkers down a newly dug shaft without the right tools to dig themselves out. In a rather desperate act, Dorgrum transformed himself into a small badger and scurried through a narrow passage in the rubble to go and get help. There were a number of members of his mother's family who were 'beastblooded' (as they called it, though he was told the sages call them "beastkin") and none too happy that he'd revealed the family secret, but many of his coworkers were delighted to see him walking around with his badger face on, or transforming completely to scurry off and hide somewhere.

Once he truly embraces who he was, he even made friends with an actual badger who began following him around wherever he went. Eventually some of his friends began to question why he would still work the mines when he had such an incredible ability. One of the older miners, a former adventurer, told them all about the Pathfinder Lodge, and the fortune and glory that could be found there. His friends convinced him that between his strength and ability he be guaranteed to be accepted, so he sold off nearly everything he owned to buy a sturdy breastplate and a backpack full of adventuring gear and set off for the Grand Lodge in Absalom.

When the time came for his meeting to apply as a Pathfinder, the interviewer asked, "why should we allow you to join?" After a bewildered look, he transformed his dwarven head into that of a badger and smiled. The interviewer waited patiently for some real answer and then (less patiently) repeated the question in dwarven. This time he answered, with some frustration, "I can transform, see?!?" and then changed fully into a small badger. "I see," the interviewer said flatly jotting a note in their parchment, "well, I'm just going to have you wait out in the waiting room with some other applicants and someone will see you with more details when we're finished. He was thoroughly pleased with himself from that moment right up until the Garundi woman in the trim and officious outfit delivered the bad news...

I think you can export the file as a JSON but I had a heck of a time getting that to work anywhere outside of Pathbuilder.

You worked dark magics to get it working anywhere else? How? I put a couple of hours into it and got nowhere. Please let me know! Thanks.

I have vague memories of getting it into Google Sheets, and I have the evidence (an exported character), but the in between steps have been erased from my memory banks :P
