(I'm awake between 8 am to 10 pm EDT (UTC-4 hours) so roughly 1300 to 0300 hours, GMT.)
Howdy. If you're a member of one of my games, then here are a few rules I'd like you to follow:
PFS 2E rules
1. Please post at least once a day. If you are absent for 24 hours I'll send you a PM. If you're missing for 36 hours I'll mark you inactive and your Player Character will simply delay - that's not fun!
2. Under your name, please add a stat block, so I can quickly find your stats and keep the game moving. You can edit your character's Race, Class/Levels and Gender fields to include information such as:
- Hit Points
- AC
- Saving Throws
- Perception Bonus
3. What about Secret Rolls? Pathfinder 2nd ed has a lot of secret rolls the GM is supposed to make for the players, so the PCs can't react to a bad roll. Any skill with the Secret tag should be rolled privately. If I show the DC, feel free to make the roll openly. Otherwise, there are 2 ways to do this in my games:
- You can say which skill and which bonus you want to apply. (Example: "I use Occultism +5 to investigate the skull's mystic origin.")
- Or you spoiler your dice roll and everyone sticks to the honor system of not opening it.
If you haven't added Pathfinder specific equipment, I suggest you look at the >PFS 2 Society Rules<, in particular the Pathfinder Training section.
Once you have your character selected, please go to RPG Chronicles and post your character's details there >Sign Up Page<
GM chadius |
I think almost everyone has checked in. Please introduce your character in the >gameplay thread< if you haven't already.
If you haven't added your icon to the >slides<, go ahead and do so now. There are 2 marching formations (single file and double file) so feel free to rearrange your position.

I'm not familiar with the 'level bump' rules for lower levels playing in higher tiers. Can someone point me in the right direction with a link here?
GM chadius |
>Mentorship and PC Level Bumps<
To provide low level players a more fun and fair experience, PCs whose level equals the adventure’s base level (such as a 3rd-level PC playing in a Level 3–6 scenario) gain a temporary boost when playing in the higher level range called a level bump to represent the higher-level PCs’ mentorship and support.
- Increase every DC the PC has by 1.
- Increase the attack modifiers, attack damage, spell damage, saving throw modifiers, skill modifiers, Perception modifiers, and AC of the PC by 1.
- Increase the Hit Point totals of the PC by 10 or by 10%, whichever is higher. These adjustments are less beneficial than gaining a level, yet they provide the PC more survivability and opportunity to contribute to the adventure experience, reducing the degree to which higher-level PCs might overshadow these less experienced Pathfinders.
You should also remind higher-level PCs to apply any mentor boons they might have purchased.
Apply the relevant adjustments to the PC's animal companions, eidolons, and familiars as well. If a value is already increased by applying the adjustment to a PC (such as a familiar's save modifiers and AC), do not increase the value a second time.
I'll try to remember these bonuses throughout the scenario, but this should help Eddie.

Samantha is Grand Archive and can offer you the Magical Mentor Boon
Prerequisites: Liked by Grand Archive
While working with less experienced Pathfinder allies, you provide key spellcasting insights that augment your colleagues’ magic. Any PCs benefiting from a Level Bump and whose levels are lower than yours can prepare one additional spell of their highest-level spell slot or cast one additional spell of their highest-level spell slot. When casting spells of a magical tradition that is the same as the tradition you use for spellcasting, the affected PC also increases the Level Bump’s modifier to spell DCs to 2.
Normal A Level Bump increases a PC’s spell DCs by 1, and it does not grant any additional spells prepared or spell slots.
Special A PC can only benefit from two mentor boons.

We are almost done with this battle. I'd like to give 2 Hero Points away.
Please nominate 2 PCs who should get a point. You can post your picks in this thread, or you can put them in a spoiler. Or you can PM me. Let's try to get the nominations within 48 hours.
This scenario has 2 optional encounters. 1 is completely optional, and the other is a "hard mode" variant. I'll add more details about them as we continue.
GM chadius |
Optional Encounter: Cho'aatan Hard Mode
The enemies will spawn in over time to challenge you for the next 5 rounds. Their formation is randomly selected.
...unless all of you agree to Hard Mode, in which case you will get a huge spawn immediately to deal with.
There is no reward for Hard Mode beside bragging rights.
I need consensus from everyone. So if anyone objects or someone does not agree to it, we will skip Hard Mode.
Interested?
Eddie 'Bo' Leetus |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |
Being under-leveled and not an optimized type of character I'm not interested in hard mode anything.
Eddie 'Bo' Leetus |
To be fair I posted this before I read gameplay.
So is it a foregone conclusion that if we skip the hardmode encounter we have to wait a week for his research to finish and thus fail the negotiations? Or am I misunderstanding things?
Eddie 'Bo' Leetus |
Oh ok. I didn't want to destroy our chances of success in the scenario by declining the hard mode encounter!
GM chadius |
We're up to the second optional encounter.
Any individual players can play the game of Exuto, and you can play up to 5 rounds. You can also choose to play 0 rounds.
If everyone decides to skip it no biggie. We'll move on to the final challenge after this.

I'm back.
A quick question on the discussions we're having:
We got those 4 potions, each lasting 10mins, I'm under the assumption that with the length of the meeting we'll only get one check from each of them?
I'm also wanting to know about guidance. I plan to have Toady/Eddie offering guidance on each person throughout the meeting, will the 1hr lockout fade before the next check? Every other check?
Functional summary:
Guidance: (+1 status bonus) per character every hour (or check?)
Potions: +2 item bonus on one check only? (4 total)
GM chadius |
The potions will work long enough for exactly 1 check.
Guidance won't work, because the check represents a 10 minute period of time, and guidance will fade out by then.
Don't forget the >Diplomat's Badge< for a +1 bonus. One of you would have had enough time to attune yourself to it for the rest of the day.
Also Rysk, Radim, Samantha get a +4 bonus on a single Deception, Diplomacy, or Intimidation check made against an iruxi until the end of this scenario.
If anyone is an Expert in a given skill, you may instead decide to >Follow the Expert< so you can use your level as a proficiency bonus (with a +2 since they are Experts), instead of 0 since you're untrained.
Eddie 'Bo' Leetus |
Thanks for the clarifications.
Eddie would definitely be putting that badge to use, diplomacy is their thing.
Also, Eddie is an expert in Diplomacy if that changes anyone's rolls/plans.
Rysk Ysoki |
Also Rysk, Radim, Samantha get a +4 bonus on a single Deception, Diplomacy, or Intimidation check made against an iruxi until the end of this scenario.
Probably won't be much use for Rysk as is Diplomacy is +7 but in any Int or Wis based skill he's at least +11 (he's at least trained in all of them). All due to the +0 Charisma modifier vs the +4 Intelligence and Wisdom.
Radim Vesperra |
> Society: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 1 = 21
I forgot about Untrained Improvisation/Clever Improviser, so there should be another +2 with a total score of 23. However, with a natural 20, maybe it doesn't matter (it's still an increase in the result by one step, right?)

If things look good I'll close this thread sometime during the weekend.

Looks good thanks GM.
I think I'm going to use my downtime to start retraining a class feat. Eddie has the feel of poison resistance, not reach spell...
