Talienda nods.
"He was killed several months ago, and he was also my father. I learned a week after his death that he was a cruel, vicious man, a criminal that preyed on the weak and built his fortune and his empire on the misery of others. I was sheltered from that, from the whole world. He would barely allow me to leave the house and never allowed me outside of the Petals District in Absolom, not without him and some guards. But that I had nothing to do with his criminal enterprises means nothing to his enemies. They seek the wealth he had amassed and I am in the way. I had thought that by running here, to Magnimar, I could live freely and that I would be safe. I learned in Sandpoint, after the whole ordeal with Jubrayl's men and the book they wanted me to identify, I learned that they were after me because of an assassin named Hecka Heckles had put a bounty on my capture."
She hands the signet ring over to Lady Heidmarch so she could look at it.
"I'm sorry, Lady Heidmarch. I fear that I have put you and your organization in danger just by being here."

Wayilant manages to catch Julie just in time to prevent her from whacking one of the Ulfens sitting next to Bryndis. With stick in hand, she freezes in place when Wayilant shouts. Somewhat shocked by the outburst, she quickly turns and beelines it back to the group.
As Wayilant, Julie, and Govrina make their way down the dock, the robust sound of the Rusty Flagon Inn slowly fades into the background. What remains of the dockworkers, can be seen hurrying the offloading process of a couple nearby schooners. Off in the distance, Fizzledeck’s ship stands out among the plethora of mundane sailing vessels that line Magnimar's harbor. Its stacked bronze domes tower over even the largest of the other ship’s masts, which brings a lot attention to its towering multitude of decks. Without question, the vessel is uniquely different. A vast number of onlookers clutter the docks in order to take in the sight. Movement can be seen across the ship's layered decks, although it is all but impossible to make out anything beyond the movement itself.
After wading through the onlookers, you three manage to reach what looks like the ports largest birth. Although Fizzledeck’s ship is grotesquely tall, it looks like it fits within the marina’s main birth without much trouble. Standing to each side of the ship’s boarding ramp, two heavily armed men carefully observe your approach. Once you reach the ramp, the two men lower matching halberds in a way that blocks you from continuing. “State your business.” One of them says in a forceful, commanding tone.
Back in the Rusty Flagon Inn, the Ulfen group continues to eat and enjoy Bryndis’s tales of recent events. On more than one occasion her story is matched by tales of raids and conquests of battle from different Ulfen warriors. During the process, the elf sits quietly with minimal expression.
Bryndis Sense Motive 13: Bryndis gets the feeling the elf is intentionally masking his expression. For what purpose, she isn’t sure. Either way, she feels he is less than earnest and is, without a doubt, not forthcoming with anything that ties him to his people. The likelihood that he is a Twilight Speaker is quite high, considering he seems relaxed in the inn’s environment and, of course, is sitting with a bunch of Ulfens.

Bryndís Raelyosradinsdóttir |

Bryndís has an excellent time and stays on until late when things start winding down. When it's apparent the night is coming to a close, Bryndís is a little sad. She has spent all the time since she left Kalsgard being so busy mentally leaving it behind that it never occurred to her that she could miss home, and she does.
Still though, she has put away that perfect amount of alcohol where one can feel the rush of it singing in the blood, heightening everything and making it all wonderful. Bryndís loves everyone there; she doesn't even mind the elf anymore. She is powerful, and beautiful, and admired.
Bryndís has been especially wrong about Hellgor. He isn't loutish at all. In fact, he has been mannered, well-spoken, respectful, and welcoming. If he isn't quite dashingly handsome, well sometimes that quality is a little overrated anyway. She reaches up, grasping Hellgor's ear between her thumb and finger, drawing him closer. At the same time she leans in close so she can speak softly.
"Ég hef skipt um skoðun. Þú verður undantekning frá minni reglu. Þú kemur með mér í rúmið í kvöld."
"I have changed my mind. You will be an exception to my rule. You are coming with me to bed tonight."
Why not? she thinks. After all, I will likely be dead from falling out of the sky in a day or three.
She sort of wishes her party could make the journey east with the Ulfen band on their ship. If her memory serves, they could go as far as the River Kingdoms before they would need to take different branches of the Sellen River to their different respective destinations. It would be slower, but one hell of a lot more fun than some gnome's dodgy balloon-craft. But, Bryndís is sure she'd never be able to convince the others to change plans on such short notice.

Liotierri Magravi "Gravi" |

The temptation to follow Wayliant and the others to see the flying ship was strong in Gravi, but seeing Talienda and Bryndis both engaged in things at the tavern, he jumps up and follows Wayliant and the others out the door, Wait a moment, I'm coming. he doesn't say much on the walk, taking in his surroundings and getting a feel for the city, I have to say, this is far more civilized than Sandpoint is, definitely preferable to that small town. he says with a smile.
Gravi is suitably impressed by the flying ship, he quickly dissuades himself of trying to figure out how it works and trusts in the gnomish inventor's design. As Wayliant introduces the group, he merely smiles expansively at the two men.

Talienda Blackhorn |

"I was hoping she wouldn't follow me from Absolom," Talienda admits as she takes the signet ring back. "Thank you, milady. It's a relief to have this off my chest."
Talienda is a bit distracted that evening, not really interacting with anyone before heading to bed early.

Alina apologies profusely to Wayilant on the way to Fizzledeck's ship. She'd been keeping an eye on Julie, but had taken her eyes off the young girl for a moment when she looked over at what Bryndis was up to. She's quiet the rest of the trip to the airship's berth, though it's clear she's having to fight hard not to gawk at the strange contraption when it comes into view.

Wayilant Diplomacy 15: The two men quickly glance at each other when Wayilant mentions the sheriff’s name and that the group is from Sandpoint. One says to the other, “It’s them. The ones Fizzledeck told us about.” One of the guards turns and heads up the ship’s plank while the other remains in place. “One moment. He’s going to alert the captain. For verification, what’s the name of your group?” Before you can answer, you catch sight of a small, brightly clothed, Gnome making his way down the ship’s docking plank. “Nonsense, these are obviously the Flagon Slayers! The Flagon Slayers they are for sure. Please, please come aboard. Come aboard my friends.” Gnomes by nature are somewhat shorter than their human counterparts, but this slightly older Gnome is significantly shorter than the average by a fair amount. His bright colored ensemble of clothing, although well-tailored, is bright enough choke even the most extravagant Varisian. “Allow me to escort you to my office. I think you would enjoy an escort to my office.” He says while waving for you to follow him up the ramp.
The Infernal Comet is a magnificent wonder. Its bronze reinforced railings skirt a very busy main deck, while additional smaller decks stack on top of one another creating an overwhelming accomplishment of engineering. It makes you wonder how anyone manages to find their way around the enormous vessel. Stacked on top of its main deck, two massive bronze domes tower over its heavily encumbered frame. The magnitude of its architecture is highlighted by many brightly colored stained-glass windows that obviously outskirt a large number of its staterooms.
Govrina Engineering 22: The ship is well within the definition of an engineering miracle. If you had to guess, you suspect that the bronze domes are filled with helium, which would coincide with the fact that Fizzledeck seems to do business out of Kraggodan. The Dwarven mines likely produce a fair amount of the gas during their normal ore extraction. Looking at the shear massiveness of the ship, you suspect the helium alone wouldn’t be enough to lift the ship. While looking for other mitigating factors, you also notice a fine-looking metallic material that seems to be woven into the ship’s structure. Although different kinds of metals are commonly used in ship building, this metal has an odd purplish color and seems to weave throughout the ship randomly as opposed to having a specific function.
Back at the Rusty Flagon Inn, Shiela sets the group up with rooms after realizing everyone is looking to stay the night. Talienda is offered a private room as well as a single room large enough to accommodate up to four people. Bryndis on the other hand, is offered a room of her own. Without a doubt, Shiela is able to read into the situation and accommodate the Bloodrager’s intentions.
Hellgor is caught slightly off guard when Bryndis makes her move. His eyebrows raise slightly as Bryndis whispers her intent. After taking a slight moment to ensure that he is not imagining things, he turns to the bloodrager and nods with overwhelming approval. Without hesitation, he gulps down the last of his drink and then follows Bryndis up to her room.
A night of romance: 1d100 ⇒ 99 (1-100 to evaluate how enjoyable of an evening Bryndis had with Hellgor. Is he a selfish lover, or everything she had hoped for?
Holy crap (99), Hellgor's an AMAZING lover! The one-night stand that you remember for the rest of your life!

Fizzledeck leads the group towards the back of the ship, where he meets an ascending stairway that leads up to a much taller deck. Along the way you notice a series of ballista’s which have no cables, and by the looks of it, no bolts. Fashioned down the middle of each siege weapon is a large metallic rod that runs down the full length of the weapon's haft. You estimate around six of these weapons exists on each side of the Comet. If you had to guess, you suspect there are more such devices towards the front of the ship as well.
The double wide stairs, which apparently runs the full length of the ship’s aft, leads towards multiple doors. Fizzledeck stops at the first door to his right and then digs out a keyring from one of his many pockets. “Give me a moment. It’s one of these keys. One of them has to be the right one.” He says while flipping through what looks like an annoying number of options. Soon he finds the key he was looking for and then unlocks the door. “There, there. Come in, come in.” After inviting everyone into his office, he enters and says something softly that invokes a nearby orb. The orb, in response, begins to glow with increasing intensity. Soon, the entire room becomes fully lit. The room, which looks like a full-blown alchemist's lab, is riddle with all sorts of oddities, which include a number of weird looking glass vials that contain a multitude of different liquids, a bookshelf containing hard bound books with intricate looking covers, wands of various shapes and sizes, a number of different size looking glasses, and a wide number of odd-looking items you can’t quite tell what they are.
“Please come in and have a seat. Have a seat and make yourself comfortable.” He says while pointing at a number of finely crafted brass chairs. “Sheriff Hemlock told me you were looking for a lift to Ustalav. All the way to Lake Encarthan. I'm here in Magnimar, trading Dwarven forged weapons for the dwarves of Kraggodan. I’m expected back in Kraggodan soon with the spoils of the trade, so I won’t be able to stay in Ustalav. What I can do is get you to Lake Encarthan and provide you with a dingy. I would dock at Caliphas but there are complications which prevent this from being an option. Anyway, I’m glad to help with what I can. The Sheriff said your mission was of utmost urgency but didn’t have the time to explain what was going on. May I ask what the emergency is all about?” He asks while taking a seat at a small desk.
After allowing a moment for the group to process his request, he continues. “I intend to leave sometime early tomorrow morning. Sunrise to be more precise. When the sun comes up, we are heading out.” During his last comment, he wiggles his hand in the air like it's a flying fish. “Like this. This is how we sail.” He finishes with a light chuckle. “If needed, I have a lot of open rooms aboard the Comet. A lot of rooms, if you need a place to stay for the night.”

Well, Captain Fizzledeck", Wayilant began. "Sheriff Hemlock, along with House Deverin of Sandpoint, tasked The Flagon Slayers to stop the chain of human traffickers who appear to be taking the women to Ustalav."

The cleric smiled. "Thank you for the kind offer, Captain. We already have food and lodging secured at the Rusty Flagon. Julie and I will stay there." The aasimar turns to the others. "The rest of you are free to stay as you wish." Turning back to the gnome airship captain, Wayilant continues. "I'll do my best to make sure everyone is here at ready to disembark before sunrise, Captain."
Wayilant plans on getting a good dinner for himself and Julie at The Rusty Flagon, thanks to Lady Heimbark. Then, the cleric will take Julie out for some night time shopping before bedtime.

Alina, seeing that Talienda is already asleep and having been assured by Lady Heidmarch she's perfectly safe, accepts Wayilant's invitation. She holds his hand, and watches with a smile on her face at Julie's excited reactions to Magnimar's multitude of stores and stalls. While they walk, Alina asks Wayilant more about his life until now and shares some stories about how she, Talienda, and Echo would get into trouble while the young lady was growing up. She also reveals that she's got some skills that some might look askance at a young lady for having, and reveals the ears she normally keeps hidden in her hair, the ones that mark her as a half-elf.
After returning to the Rusty Flagon, Alina hugs and kisses Julie goodnight and helps Wayilant get her into bed. Once the little girl is asleep, She wraps her arms around Wayilant and kisses him passionately.
"Wayilant," she says after they both come up for air, "I love you. I love you in ways that I never suspected I could love someone. I want to be with you and Julie, but I made a promise to myself that I think you should now about. I saw what giving myself too easily could do to me before Lady Talienda's father took me in. I saw too many times women who were broken and little more than husks looking for their next high. I didn't want to be like that, and I swore the only man I'd ever lay with would be my husband, a man that I could and would happily pledge myself too, and he to me. I love you, and I think you could be that man. If you are, I..." Her voice trails off, as she finds that she's at a loss for words.

She holds his hand, and watches with a smile on her face at Julie's excited reactions to Magnimar's multitude of stores and stalls. While they walk, Alina asks Wayilant more about his life.
Pleased the handmaiden felt comfortable with holding hands in public, Wayilant went on about other aspects of his early clerical life. Slowing working his way south, learning how to properly tap kegs without making a mess, learning how to make different drinks, meeting other peoples and cultures and trying to learn from them. How his first girlfriend, a dwarven warpriest of Cayden Caliean, helped him learn Dwarven and understand complex dwarven ales and how they were made.
The aasimar sensed the talk of past lovers made Alina uncomfortable, so he changed the topic back to life in Vigil. She also reveals that she's got some skills that some might look askance at a young lady for having, and reveals the ears she normally keeps hidden in her hair, the ones that mark her as a half-elf.
Wayilant's eyes grew wide at the revelation. "By Thais's Five Wings! You clever girl! I had no idea! Wow!" Wayilant exclaimed as he leered at the reddening tips of Alina's exposed ears. "Do you speak Elven? I can! I learned it from a another Calistrian who helped me understand her faith better! No wonder you're so striking", Wayilant winked roguishly.
After returning to the Rusty Flagon, Alina hugs and kisses Julie goodnight and helps Wayilant get her into bed. Once the little girl is asleep, She wraps her arms around Wayilant and kisses him passionately.
The cleric could tell Alina's technique had improved since their last encounter, wanton abandon fueling the half-elf's fire.
"Wayilant," she says after they both come up for air, "I love you. I love you in ways that I never suspected I could love someone. I want to be with you and Julie, but I made a promise to myself that I think you should now about. I saw what giving myself too easily could do to me before Lady Talienda's father took me in. Waylant's heart tightened slightly in his chest. The aasimar breathed. ”I knew this talk had to happen sooner or later.” The cleric helped Alina sit down next to him on the bed across from Julie's. Both lovers sat down holding each other, their backs supported by the wall behind them.
”Alina. Ever since we met I've felt the hand of The Gods, one God in particular, bringing us together. In a very short time I've gotten to know, you have invaded my waking thoughts.” Wayilant looked deeply into the half-elf's now-obvious slightly almond-shaped eyes. ”I am a huge sucker for a good girl. Likely my celestial heritage seeping through. Alina Caliean. You have a bright, beautiful soul. Who despite the horrors this world has given you, you still shine through it's gloom. And that great inner beauty has influenced your outer beauty. I can only imagine how mind-numbingly your womanly curves would drive me wild if I should finally seed them. As much as I've tried to fight it, I cannot deny my feelings for you. I love you, Alina Cailean. I honestly didn't think I'd ever feel this way about anyone, really. I feel like I want to hold you forever. In your kisses, I glimpse the rapture of Elysium. I would love to escort you into the heights of physical and emotional ecstacy” Wayilant said with a low growl of passion.
The aasimar held the handmaiden for a few moments then continued. ”I've told you about my life in Vigil with my Mother. My father was never in my life. My mother refused to even tell me his name! Despite being raised by only one very overbearing parent, I eventually turned my life around and walk with Cayden now.” The cleric then took Alina's hands and placed them on his heart. ”As a caydenite, We value Freedom; for ourselves and others. The love I must feel for other must not be possessive. Even now, if you wished to spend time with Lioiterri or Darius or Talienda, for example, I would not try to get in the way.” Alina's keen elven hearing could catch the tremble and effort in Wayilant's voice. ”I sure, at one time, early in Golarion's past, the concept of marriage was a healthy pledge between two hearts. Then, one day, likely some aristocrat or wealthy landowner, said to his intended, 'I love you, darling..but let's get a lawyer involved!' You know, in Vigil, there are offices of barristers dedicated to divorce law!” Wayilant huffed.
”What I'm trying to say is I am in love with you, Alina Caliean! Cayden, help me, I am! But on a philosophical level, I am against marriage. On principle.” Tormented, Wayilant brings Alina's soft hands up to his brow and held them. ”I known married Caydenites, but rarely have I seen them happy.” The aasimar sighed. ”I want to be the man you want me to be. I”m a better man from knowing and loving you, but I can't be that man. I don't know if I'll ever be that man.”
In the darkness of the room, Wayilant looks into the glassy reflection of light from under the door in his lover's eyes, and waited for the response.

"Rwy'n gwneud. Fel y mae fy arglwyddes," she says coyly with a shy smile.
Elven: "I do. As does my lady."
Back at the inn, as Wayilant lays his heart bare, Alina, can't quite hide the hurt she feels. She doesn't blame Wayilant, and is even grateful that he's being honest with her.
"Maybe it's selfish of me in Cayden's eyes," she admits, "but I want you to myself. We are who we are, and only we can change that." She leans her head against his shoulder as her hand holds his.
"I was told once that only we can make ourselves happy. Maybe those couples had forgotten that. I asked a Shelyn priest once what made for a good marriage, and he told me that love, patience, honesty, and understanding were the essentials. It's like any other relationship, it takes time and effort on the part of both parties. To be married is to make a vow that you'll be there for the other, as long as you can, with as much of yourself as you can give. I don't need a fancy dress nor some officious papers. All we need is each other's word, that's what I think. It's a vow that we make to each other, to stay together and be there for one another no matter what comes. We give ourselves to one another, fully and completely, and if we have a problem, we talk and figure things out."
She takes in a breath and lets it out slowly.
"I see marriage as a sharing of ourselves, a vow that we're special to each other, the one we can share even our darkest, ugliest parts with and still have their feelings stay the same, the one we will always be with, no matter what may come, and the one that we can trust completely and utterly until we are called by Pharasma to be judged, and even after."
She looks up into Wayilant's eyes.
"I'll never forget my first kiss," she tells him with a bittersweet smile. "I will cherish that for the rest of my life. I am willing to wait, Wayilant Arden, but I want you to know that I don't want your freedom. I want your heart, and in exchange, I want to give you mine."

I am willing to wait, Wayilant Arden, but I want you to know that I don't want your freedom. I want your heart, and in exchange, I want to give you mine."
In the near darkness, Wayilant's mind was racing like a quickling and aching. The cleric let go of Alina's hands to wrap his arms around her waist.
"You need to stop being so amazing. You're punching holes in my argument." The aasimar kissed the half-elf's hair, as angelic fire began a low flame on Wayilant's head, always manifesting at times of great emotion and reverence. Wayilant tried to bat it out to little avail."I'm gonna need some time. To think. But I do love you Alina. ..dammit." The caydenite murmured with a pained chuckle, then sighed. "You're welcome to stay her tonight. I will be on my best behavior." Wayilant sighed. "I mean, I'll try. I'm a cleric; not a paladin."

Alina Cailean |

Alina chuckles softly as Wayilant tries to put out his halo and smiles at him when he invites her to stay.
"Perhaps some other night when we don't need to be up before dawn," she says before kissing him on the cheek. "I love you Wayilant, and hope you and Julie both have sweet dreams."
She stands up and leaves for Talienda's room. As she closes the door, she gives the cleric and his adopted daughter a warm smile.

She begins pulling things aside that she likes and eventually ends up with a small pile of trinkets and toys that add up to around 20 gp. The work of art displays refined detail to the point that it’s almost creepy (200 gp). “That could be my dolly’s house.” She says in the most hopeful tone she can muster. The excited look on her face begins to melt as the shop keeper begins closing up shop.
Wayilant can remove the gold for any items he wishes to buy for Julie.

Bryndís Raelyosradinsdóttir |

Bryndís is up early in the morning. Since she had been too busy to check in with anyone, she's not sure what will be happening or when, so she'd best go find out.
She and Hellgor don't have a great deal to say to each other, after all, it's extremely unlikely they will ever see each other again (Bryndís likes her chances in the near future, Hellgore's not so much). They do wish each other that the Norns see fit to weave the other a long and rich tapestry before the final thread is cut.
They also make a pledge that is Bryndís's idea. Should one or both of them fail to return here, probably due to death, they will each have a second. That person will be entrusted to return and tell the story of what happened after this day to the other. While it's not a terribly sound plan in terms of logistics, neither Bryndís nor Hellgor are fool enough to think they will be writing any books or letters. Probably it is one of those instances where it's the thought the counts.
Once she's dressed and gathered her gear, there's just time for one last, actually rather long, kiss before she's on her way downstairs.

Hellgor’s kiss, the following morning, kind of catches Bryndis off-guard. Unlike the heated passion she had experienced the prior night, his goodbye kiss felt soft and compassionate, which left her feeling as if she could actually feel the man’s personal aura. In that moment, she considers the fact that there are likely many layers to the man.

The evening of shopping reveals a number of smaller merchants still looking to make a last-minute deal before rolling it up for the night. Although much of their wears are somewhat mundane, Julie embellishes at each and every merchant as if she has never seen such finery before. She begins pulling things aside that she likes and eventually ends up with a small pile of trinkets and toys that add up to around 20 gp. Wayilant goes over the pile of purchases with Julie. "Oh! That is a lovely dollie. Okay."
"Some jacks. And some marbles? Okay.""Ooo. That is a nice locket. Sure."
"Jump rope? Nice!"
"Ribbons?" Wayilant wonder how he could get them in Julie's hair without it looking like a rat's nest. "I'll get those for you, but I want your help in convincing some of the Flagon Slayers to show us how they do their ribbons, okay? Okay."
"What the the heck is in that bottle? No way. Put that back."
Wayilant eyes the toy fencing kit. "Okay, here's the deal. I'll get the fencing kit, but we won't be using it until you understand the basics better. If we work at it, I could see you using your new fencing sword soon. But we need to work up to it. Understand!"
"Cayden! Look at the size of that chocolate bar! You can buy this with your own money, but you are eating this chocolate tombstone in one day. I'll hold on to it and you can eat it over the next four days, assuming you eat all your vegetables. Deal? Good."
"Julie! Where in the 9 Hell do you think we're gonna keep that massive castle! No way! We're adventurers now! We have to travel light!"
Wayilant pays 18 gp for the shopping excursion. If Julie really wants the big chocolate bar, she pays her gold piece.
Date: Calistril 5th 4712 AR | Time: Early Morning | Weather: Slightly cloudy:
The night passes peacefully. That is, until Julie shakes Wayilant awake slightly before sunrise. “Dad, can we go buy the castle?" After regaining his morning composure, Wayilant realizes that sunrise is close at hand, and he has yet to alert anyone in the group about the early morning departure. Those who didn’t follow him to Fizzledeck’s ship, such as Talienda, Bryndis, and Govrina will likely be caught off guard by the pressing time restraint.
I guessing Alina went to sleep with Talienda, so she would know. Govrina was with Wayilant and Julie with the other Flagon Slayers.
Just trying to understand the structure of the flying ship leaves Govrina open mouthed and a bit stunned.
So the only Flagon Slayer to worry about is Bryndis.
"Uh oh, Julie. We gotta find and wake up Bryndis now Hurry up! Get dressed! Grab your purchases! We need to move!"Due to the heavy nature of discussion Alina and he had, Wayilant looks very tired, like he didn't get enough sleep.

Talienda Blackhorn |

Alina wakes up and gets Talienda up as well with just enough time to get ready and get to Fizzledeck's ship before dawn. Realizing that the others might not be aware of their departure time, she goes around knocking on doors and rousing everyone awake.
Talienda and Echo are of one mind about this. It is far too early to get up. Still, with Alina's help, Talienda is ready to go with time to spare.
"Oh no. I didn't have any canvases prepped," the young noblewoman mutters as she realizes that she's missing something rather important for the favor she wants to do for Lady Heidmarch.

Bryndís Raelyosradinsdóttir |

Bryndís meets Wayilant coming down the stairs as he's going up.
"Good Morning! What is happening today? Do we leave?"
Despite an evening of drinking and a night of little sleep, Bryndís looks great, as alert and on top of things as she ever is. Apparently she is both an evening and a morning person.

Govrina Fireblood |

Eager to be off, even though she hadn't seen much of the city yet, Govrina is already up, packed, and sitting sipping some warm tea in the back corner of the common room. She waves and nods as each person wakes and comes down the stairs. She's been up for hours...full of nervous energy.
Father always said, 'Greet the day early and you accomplish so much more. Greet the day late, and you give in to whatever Fate the day brings to you.' His monkish side always littered his few words with Iroran teachings somehow...which was always so frustrating. But he was usually correct too, whether I like to admit that or not.

I guessing Alina went to sleep with Talienda, so she would know. Govrina was with Wayilant and Julie with the other Flagon Slayers.
Slight oversight on my end. I’m going to assume, due to the early wake up by Julie and the fact that I believe Wayilant normally gets up early as part of his routine, that he has enough time to alert Bryndis of the early morning departure. When he arrives, he finds that Bryndis is somewhat up and prepared for the day, so she is not caught off-guard.
Wayilant and Julie make rounds to ensure that everyone is prepared and ready to head out. The Rusty Flagon has prepared a couple large sacks of travel rations, which should cover food for the trip. In addition to the rations, the cook, a somewhat balding heavy-set man, gives everyone something he calls a breakfast bun. The bun is warm and crisp on the outside, which gives away to a variety of breakfast meats, cheese and eggs within it. Quite different and very good for a last-minute breakfast.
When the group arrives at Fizzledeck’s birth, you immediately notice that the ship’s crew are preparing to untether the Comet's dock lines and unlike most vessels, the Comet is not preparing to be pulled out to sea.
"Quick, quick, come aboard! Come aboard quickly!” The small gnome shouts with his head barely visible beyond the ship’s rails. The crew, who are close to raising the ship’s planks, hold tight and wait for your group to board. After boarding the Comet, you see Fizzledeck quickly head over to a bronze room, which connects the bronze domes to the ship. After whispering some words of magic, its doors burst open with a fair amount of force, releasing what looks like six massive air elementals, who shoot out the door with voracity. After regaining their freedom, each elemental in turn takes up a position around Fizzledeck, who calmly begins issuing instructions to them in a slurred-whishing type of language.
After a small conversation in the unusual language, the elementals take up positions along each facing of the ship. Fizzledeck quickly ascends the doublewide stairs towards the rear of the ship where he enters the third door on his right. “Quickly, quickly, come in, come in.” He says while waving his small hand for the group to enter. Once inside, he approaches what looks like an elongated machine with four multicolored levers. Each level, colored in some variant of blue, ranges from Lt. Blue to a blue that is so dark that it almost looks black. In addition to the four levers, you also note a series of buttons that are arranged in a cross like pattern. Each arm of the cross extends out four buttons. Before you get a good lock at the buttons, you feel the ship jolt and then begin moving. “Oh my, this part always excites me. Excites me for sure. Each of these levers lightens the Comet’s mass by half. Half again and half again and so forth. Before long the ship is very, very light. Eventually the helium I have store in the ships gas domes becomes enough to lift it. More and more we lift. We do have to be careful and progress cautiously, so we give each stage enough time to lift us properly, that way we don’t become a projectile. Once we have proper altitude the elementals will push us along, hopefully nice and smooth like. These buttons open light that I have mounted along the ship’s exterior. They indicate the desired direction that we wish to travel. It’s all elementary, elementary for sure."
After approximately ten minutes you feel the ship stop moving. “Looks like it's time. Its more than likely time.” He says while pulling over a stool, climbing onto it, and then peering out a nearby porthole. “Yep, its time. It is time for sure.”
After climbing down from the stool, Fizzledeck heads back over to the controls and lifts the darkest lever. You feel a pulse of energy emanate from the controls and then surge outward. Immediately after, the Comet begins to raise up out of the water.
Before long Fizzledeck raises the next darkest lever, which creates another pulse. That in turn causes the ship to float further into the air. By the time he raises the third lever the ship is far enough off the ground that you can see Magnimar, through the ship's porthole, in its entirety. “That should be high enough for now. High enough I think.” Fizzledeck says before pressing one of the buttons that alerts the elementals to begin moving the ship forward.
“Please, please make yourselves comfortable. Make yourselves comfortable aboard my ship. Perhaps later we can swap stories over dinner. I would love to share stories for sure. I'm having White Sea bass and roast duck prepared. The cooks are preparing the duck and Sea bass as we speak. The dinner should be exquisite. Exquisite to even the most refine pallet. For now, please enjoy the view. Enjoy the view from all over the ship."

Wayilant blinks to see the, dare-he-say-it, chipper bloodrager. "Good morning, Bryndis! Yes, we are all to meet at Captain Fizzledeck's airship at sunrise. We nearly have everyone ready. Go grab your gear."
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 22A smirk creeps across the aasimar's face. "It appears you had a good evening among your countrymen. You have a lovely smile. You should show it more often."
Despite his and Julie's belonging, the cleric offers to help anyone else with their gear. Alina and Wayilant exchange smiles and glances as they get everyone onboard the airship.

As Captain Fizzledeck moves to enter the Bronze Room, Wayilant nods to himself, recognizing the spell used to enter.
Of course a wizard would have some knowledge of elemental travel. That's makes sense, along with Fizzledeck's attire. The cleric thinks to himself.
Like the other Flagon Slayers, Wayilant is amazed by t4he blending of the arcane and the mechanical in the Blue Lever Room. Despite his own homespun education into Spellcraft, Wayilant is able to follow around the finer points of the Captain Fizzledeck's demonstration, pointing out some things to Julie, in hopes she will understand and learn from it.

"Um, Captain Fizzledeck?" Wayilant asked the gnome wizard. "Must we worry about strong winds at this altitude?" The cleric takes Julie's hand. "Is it safe for my little girl to be out on the deck at this height?"

Talienda Blackhorn |

Talienda carries what she can, which isn't much, and is winded by the time they make it aboard the Infernal Comet. She's fascinated by how this seems to be working, but she has to admit, now that they are starting to fly, she shares more than a little of Wayilant's worries.

Bryndís Raelyosradinsdóttir |

Usually being told to do something, like Wayilant's suggestion to smile more, wouldn't be something Bryndís takes with anything resembling grace. In this case she would probably have retorted with a short stream of cussing. But, Bryndís needs him for something now, so she lets it slide.
Instead Bryndís chooses to engage with his other observation.
"Yes, I do not often see people from home. I sometimes forget that I like them, mostly. It was a good night, plenty of drink and good stories. Southrons don't tell stories so well as the Ulfen, unless they are Varisian. After that Hellgore, the one with light blonde hair, and I banged for a long time, which was also very good. I should remember to seek out my own more often."
Bryndís raises her hand holding her baggage to show Wayilant she's ahead of his expectations and continues on down the stairs.
"I will go to the balloon and wait to board with the rest of you."

Govrina Fireblood |

While everyone moves about the ship and gets settled, Govrina continues to watch Fizzledeck and the ship's operations. She holds out for a while, trying to take it all in, but can't help herself before too long...
"Captain? If I may ask...? What is the ship's maximum altitude? What do you do if you are attacked by Dragons or other flying air monsters? Aren't air elementals a bit flighty...no pun intended...as a reliable energy source for movement? Do you have any 'life boats' in case we might crash, or is landing the ship the only way to get down to the ground reliably..."
She continues with her stream of questions for several minutes before taking a breath and realizing she hasn't given the Captain any chance to respond yet!

Long narrative part 2
As the Comet gains solid altitude, Fizzledeck presses another button that is aligned with the original button he pressed. In doing so, the original button pops back out. Shortly after, the ship begins picking up speed. “I have a number of elegant rooms set up for you. Rooms I spent a fair amount of time preparing. I hope you enjoy them. Enjoy them for sure. Come, follow me. I will show you where your lodging is. Lodging is this way.” He says while leading the group out the door. After traveling a little further up the stairs, he begins opening a series of six doors along the left side of the stairs. The doors open into an exquisitely furnished stateroom. Each displaying brass inlayed oaken bed rails and an ivory lined water basin. These are only a few of the luxurious amenities that stand out beneath the room's multicolored stained-glass windows. The windows each display some variant of mechanical creation, which allows for a complete view off to one side of the ship. “These rooms are yours as long as you are aboard my ship. You may use them as you see fit. Use them the entire trip. As for the safety of falling off the ship. Falling would be bad. Bad it would be for sure. I have instructed the elementals to retrieve anyone who happens to fall. The elementals will do their best to bring them back.” He breaths deeply. “I wouldn’t test their competence though. Test them, I would not. They tend to be unreliable at times. Unreliable more times than not. Hopefully they don’t swing the ship again. I prefer they don’t swing the ship. It makes a big mess in the cargo hold. A big mess for sure.”
Fizzledeck spends a moment considering how he wants to respond to Govrina’s questions. After a short chuckle, he finally replies. “Well young lady, I would state the obvious. If we encounter the one in a million odds of seeing a dragon, you better hope it’s a good one. From some of the stories I have heard, granted I have never seen a dragon, I would say we are simply toast. Toast, as in chard, burned to a crisp, and so forth. I really can’t imagine needing a rowboat if that happens. As for alternative ways down to the ground.” He considers the question while pointing at Govrina’s wings. “It looks like you might be better equipped than the rest of us. Of course, the elementals could also assist with that if needed. Interesting enough, though, the Infernal Comet is set up to land on dry land as well as water. Your questions remind me of the day I christened the ship "The Infernal Comet". Some things are self-evident, and I too envisioned it falling from the sky like a flaming meteor. With this much helium being required to gain altitude, the dramatic loss of it would likely result in an unintended raped descent. Kind of like a comet falling from the sky. Our current altitude is, well, high enough” Again he chuckles. “For many years, I have been navigating this vessel and have yet to come across an issue that I can’t handle. In the event of unwanted flying critters, well, we have the crew. They are armed with the best possible crossbows. We have the elementals, which are formidable, and we have the ballistae, which shoot high intensity fireballs. And finally, we have the Flagon Slayers. A powerful adventuring group who laughs in the face of danger. Well-equipped for an encounter. Well-equipped indeed.”
After introducing the group to the room’s, Fizzledeck excuses himself and then heads back towards the control room. “Please enjoy the view. I will see you tonight at the evening meal. I will see you tonight for sure.”
The Comet continues to pick up pace, which can be tracked by how fast the nearby clouds pass by. By late afternoon, the tall trees of the Sanos Forest comes into view. You observe a large caravan of gnomes making their way down a cleared path. You notice they stop in their tracks and begin pointing up towards the ship as it passes overhead. By late evening, the thick overgrowth of the forest gives way to green rolling hills and flat plateaus. The distant city of Kaer Maga can be seen just beyond the Yandabakari River. Beyond that, the steep Mindspin Mountains creates a backdrop of concern as the ship is clearly not high enough to clear their peeks. Still off a great distance, you consider that Fizzledeck had one more lever to lift. You find yourself hopping that it will be enough to clear the daunting ridge.
The evening passes with a hearty meal of fish and duck. Side dishes include spinach, carrots, and an extremely large potato. Aside from the Gnome’s tendency to repeat things, the evening is quite enjoyable. Once the group beds down for the night, you realize the beds are lined with silk sheets, which makes them feel a bit slippery as you slide into them. The bedding feels bizarrely off to Bryndis and Julie, while Talienda, Alina, and Liotierri feel right at home with the experience. Silk sheets are uncommon to Govrina, Darius, and Wayilant but all three have likely experienced them before. Ultimately, the evening passes comfortably with the motion of the ship rocking everyone to sleep.

By the following morning the Comet has picked up pace twice over. Additionally, its altitude has risen to the point that breathing becomes slightly labored. Off in the distance, you can see that Kaer Maga is now clearly behind you, while the Mindspin Mountains are closing in fast. By the looks of it, the ship will come close to the tallest of the mountain's peaks. The morning meal is served to each of your rooms, which consists of gruel with a thin slice of bread. The obvious lack of effort in its preparation leaves you considering the travel rations from the Rusty Flagon.
By midafternoon, the ship begins to slowdown. Mountainous peaks can be seen out every window as the Comet attempts to navigate around their massive presence. The process is daunting and causes the ship to jolt from one direction to another as it changes course to correct for obstacles. By late evening the ship finally clears the mountains, brining Lastwall’s Fangwood and the massive Lake Encarthan into a distant view. Slightly before the evening meal, you can feel the ship descend back down to a comfortable altitude. Once again, the evening meal is quite superb. Leftover duck sandwiches on freshly baked rye bread. Sided with a couple dill pickles and a salad topped with a vinegar style dressing. The evening concludes with stories of travel, questing, and a small conversation about politics and commerce.
The night, as before, passes comfortably.

The following morning, everyone is awakened by a series of loud bells ringing in an alarming manner. The feel of the ship descending quickly becomes evident as loud shouts echo across its deck, which creates a feel of panic. By the sound if it, you surmise the ship might be landing. (Perhaps).
If anyone decides to back post role-play during any of this, please feel free to do so. I realize I'm moving the story along a bit quick. I didn't want to drag out too much travel time in a Play by post format. I intend to slow things down a bit once the group reaches Ustalav.

Wayilant Arden |

Date: Calistril 5th 4712 AR | Time: Early Morning | Weather: Slightly Cloudy::
After Captain Fizzledeck left the company of The Flagon Slayers, Wayilant walked Julie, holding her hand, up on the main deck. The cleric cautioned his adoptive daughter to keep her hand always on the railing. For several hours, both Wayilant and Julie car3efully walked the main deck, doing their best to stay out of the way of the Infernal Comet's crew. All the rare air and breezy winds on the deck, made Julie sleepy so both went inside. While Julie napped, Wayilant quietly took out a few pieces of parchment paper and began to write a letter to his mother, Knight-General Barbara Arden in Vigil That letter will be a separate post :).
Once Julie awoke from her afternoon nap, Wayilant gave Julie a quarter of her big chocolate bar she bought last night. After she ate her huge treat, making sure to give her adoptive father a piece, both Wayilant and Julie go back on deck to find a clear space to practice Julie's swordplay. It was a little challenging, especially with the awesome views and occasional strong winds, but both daughter and father were able to get a solid hour in.
After the swordplay, Wayilant took Julie over to the female members of The Flagon Slayers. The cleric asked Lady Talienda and Alina is they knew anything about putting ribbons into hair. Wayilant want to learn how to do it right. Wayilant also asked Bryndis about braiding hair, asking the ulfen bloodrager if Julie as the right hair for it, and some day soon, help teach Wayilant how to braid Julie's hair. The caydenite also asked 'Rina similar questions about hair.
At dinner, both Wayilant and Julie marveled at the fine food. Alina took this opportunity to teach Julie (and Wayilant) the finer points of dinning etiquette. Julie ate most of her food with no problems, but needed encouragement from both Alina and Wayilant to eat half her spinach. During dinner, Wayilant goes over his life story, living in Vigil, growing up Iomedean, his religious awakening, and exodus. If any other party members what to RP the dinner or any part of the trip, I'm down.
After dinner, Julie and Wayilant go outside on the main deck to look at the night sky. if other Flagon Slayers come out as well, they all have a great time, watching the stars closer than they have ever been.
Date: Calistril 6th 4712 AR | Time: Early Morning | Weather: Slightly Cloudy::
Wayilant and Julie quickly eat their morning meal to go outside on nthe main deck to watch The Mindspin Mountains come so close. Wayilant takes this moment to quiz Julie on what she knows about geography and vocabulary, testing to see what needs to be focused on in later lessons. The cleric comes to the decision to buy Julie a book to help her how to read.
After duck sandwiches for lunch, the daughter and father practice more swordsplay. With frequent cajoling from Julie (and possibly Alina), Wayilant relents and lets Julie try out her new toy fencing kit, spending half the lesson trying it out. As a reward, Julie ate another quarter of her big chocolate bar.
At dinner, Julie had no problems emptying her plate, ravenous with all the fresh air and swordplay. 'Rina and Bryndis bring up the notion of chucking apples at Julie to improve her reflexes. Julie laughs and was excited at the idea! After dinner, Wayilant regaled The Flagon Slayers about his exploits before becoming an adventurer, making sure to heavily edit the adult themes for Julie and Alina's ears.
The cleric enjoyed time spent with The Flagon Slayers, hearing the tales and jokes. Wayilant went to bed with a happy smiles, especially after saying goodnight to Alina.
Date: Calistril 7th 4712 AR | Time: Early Morning | Weather: Slightly Foggy::
With all the various alarms, Wayilant and Julie stayed in their rooms, talking to the other Flagon Slayers, trying to figure out what happening from listening to banter between crew members running down the halls. the cleric made sure all of their possession were packed and ready to go at a moment's notice.

Govrina Fireblood |

Amazed at the Captain's marvel of a ship, but slightly worried there was little to help those who might need to get down safer than at 'Comet speed.' This leaves Govrina wondering how much dead weight she can lift with her powers in reality...although she doubts she could keep the whole ship aloft for very long at all. A life boat however? Well now that would be possible!

Talienda Blackhorn |

While Talienda enjoys the trip, and teaching Wayilant about ribbons and how to style a girl's hair, Alina discovers too late that she not only has a fear of heights, but that the alien way the ship sways makes her stomach lurch in ways sailing on the sea simply didn't. She barely eats over the next few days, having trouble keeping things down.
Alina smiles weakly at your joke, and while she returns your kiss, it's clear she's not feeling well at all.
When the alarms wake everyone on the third morning, Alina is already up, heaving over a bucket she'd asked for after barely managing to find one the first night she was on the ship. Talienda rushes out of her room as she pulls a robe on over her nightshirt to find out what's going on.

Govrina Fireblood |

Jumping up from her comfortable bed fully dressed, Govrina swore vehemently once the alarms started and revealed her worry about the ship actually falling might be coming true! She grabs her new magical bag, which she diligently re-packs every night and morning, throwing it over her shoulders as she runs for the door and the possibility of a sudden death...wishing yet again that her wings were actually strong enough to help her.
"Captain! Captain?! What's going on??? Where IS that blasted gnome?!"

After being awaken by the ongoing commotion outside, everyone feels the ship jolt abruptly as it makes contact with the waters of Lake Encarthan. Off in the distance a massive breakwater skirts the harbor of what is presumably Caliphas. Along the breakwater stands a massive cliff face surrounded by countless wreckages and stone outcroppings.
The Comet slowly shifts from air buoyancy to water as the elementals continue to push the ship forward. Towards the mouth of the breakwater, Fizzledeck brings the ship to a slow stop. Soon, a messenger comes to each of you, alerting you that Caliphas is within rowing distance. One of the Comet’s midsized dinghies can be heard splashing into the water as the ship’s crew work multiple pulley systems bringing the small boat comfortably alongside the ship. Once everyone reaches the main deck, Fizzledeck comes down the stairs and greats you. “I hope everyone had a good night’s rest. Rested well, all night long.” He says while glancing over the side of the ship. “Unfortunately, this is as far as I dare to go. Any closer and I risk alerting the guard of my presence. It should be safe to row to the docks from here. Safe all the way there. You are welcome to keep the dinghy in case you need it latter. It’s the least I can do for Sheriff Hemlock. I owe him at least that.” A couple crewmen unravel a large rope ladder and then drape it down the side of the ship, while other crewmen steady the dinghy’s attached lines in preparation for you to climb down.

Govrina Fireblood |

Sighing with relief, Govrina moves to the small boat and gets in near the back. Quietly she begins counting wreckages as she waits.

Wayilant Arden |

Wayilant thanks Captain Fizzledeck for his transport and hospitality. The cleric then ties Julie to his back, along with their combined belonging and carefully begins the descent off the airship. Wayilant will Take 20, for a Climb on 21.

Talienda Blackhorn |

After the landing, Talienda and Alina get ready and board the dinghy before having someone lower their things. Talienda looks a little green, but Alina looks like death after the descent and landing.
"Please make everything stop spinning," the young handmaiden begs as the small boat bobs in the water.
"Sorry Alina, it's almost over. I promise," Talienda says as she rubs her friend's back.

Govrina Fireblood |

If everyone agrees, and it makes things simpler/safer, Govrina can try and move the boat and guide it in using her newest abilities. She doesn't have to lift the boat from the water completely to do it (although I can if it helps any), but if I accept some minor Burn for it, I can move it up to 4000 lbs at 30ft per round for at least 4 minutes. That's 1200 feet of movement per use, and should help us get past any obstacles or rough water currents. Or we can try using our muscles first and let her pick things up if things get bad? Either way is fine by me. The down side is I and the boat will be glowing blue-white in the dark some. Enough to be noticed by anybody nearby.

The cleric also grabs an oar, to assist if needed.

"Rowing, eh? Well, it's not... You know - y'all look strong and healthy types, so I'm generous and let you show me how it's done."
Darius fidgets facing the idea of physical labor. Luckily the cleric seems to enjoy the task at least.
Negative strength :) Can try, but maybe some stronger ones can take over here. Plus I love Govrina's idea.

Bryndís Raelyosradinsdóttir |

Bryndís is amazed by Fizzeldeck's flying contraption, but she doesn't think too deeply or curiously about it. It seems to be built and operated with some combination of alchemy, magic, and mundane technology. But, sorting what's what out would be a complicated task for sure. Besides, from what Bryndís knows of gnome thinking, trying to follow the underlying logic of the machine would probably just lead to madness, or at least considerable frustration.
Instead Bryndís is consumed with sightseeing during the journey. She spends most of her time looking at the lands passing beneath from the deck or a window. To her it is like viewing a great map, and she has long been fascinated by maps and seeing new places. The only downside is nothing is labeled, so Bryndís constantly pesters anyone around her who might know with questions about where they are at the moment and what exactly she is seeing. She tries to memorize as much as she can hold in her head about the great area between Magnimar and Caliphas. It might be useful someday.
The accommodations and such aboard the craft are good, she doesn't even mind the basic breakfasts. But there is one thing that puts her off, the silk bedding. The slipperiness and lightness of it is irritating. She can lay a silk sheet across herself and it barely feels like it is even there, which is crap. If she doesn't want to feel like she is under a sheet, she will not put a sheet over herself.
Bryndís does see great potential in the flying craft in a way most others are probably not considering so much. As a vehicle for raiding or conquest it could be a game changer. It could make walls and most normal defenses, obsolete. But, there would need to be a modification that she isn't sure would be possible. Dropping into the center of a fortress or city would make landing probably impossible. Rappelling down from the craft by rope would be slow, nearly suicidal. She asks Fizzeldeck about feasibility.
"Could boxes big enough to hold maybe three or four armed warriors be made in a way so they could be lowered to the ground quickly by winches? The boxes could be wooden mostly if reinforced by iron. They would protect the warriors from arrows and such while they are lowered. Then there would be a door for them to come out. How many boxes of that kind could be put on this flying ship?"
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
When Wayilant asks about hair braiding for Julie, Bryndís is pleased to have an opening for a larger conversation she's been putting off. His question is a bit silly, the only wrong type of hair for braiding is very short (obviously), but he did come to the right person. Bryndís knows a substantial number of braiding methods and styles, ranging from a single braid to several, and in complexity from fast and functional to exquisite and so complex the help of another is required.
She shows them a couple of the simpler things, pigtails and a standard three-strand braid. Julie should be able to learn them quickly enough, and they are the basis from which some styles can be done.
Afterward, Bryndís pulls Wayilant aside for a minute.
"There is something I need someone to do. I think you are the best person. Hellgor and I made a pledge. When we next meet again in Magnimar, we will tell each other all that has happened since we last met. But, it is possible that one or both of us might die before we meet there again. If that happens, the stories must still be told. But, for that we each need a second, a person who can tell the story of the dead."
"I need you to be my second. I think you would tell the story best. Will you do this? You will have to see and remember all that I do and what happens to me if so. My story must be told right and truly if this task should fall to you."
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Bryndís shimmies down the rope to the small boat quickly. She takes up an oar, preferring to go into the harbor under muscle power. To Govrina's offer she replies "It is a good thing to have if we need it because something happens. But, we are new to here and I think we should go into the city without being noticed for anything odd. Maybe there would be no trouble if we seem strange, but maybe there would be. I think we should not be talked about by people here until we have no choice but to do things that will be talked about"

Wayilant smiles to himself, to receive such praise from such a woman as Bryndis. The cleric listens intently to what is being asked of him. "I shall be your Second, Bryndis. I shall do my best to record your actions in my mind. I am happy you found a deep connection with this Hellgor. May you live to tell him your exploits in person."

Govrina Strength 20: Govrina takes an ore and drives it deep into the water. Her inner strength is quickly reviled as the small boat lurches forward. (I will need to know if Govrina is openly displaying her heritage or attempting to conceal it. If she intends to conceal it, I will require a general description of how she intends to do that and a disguise check roll.)
Wayilant Strength 20: Wayilant immediately matches the Tiefling’s stroke, which propels the boat evenly and consistently.
Bryndis Strength 5: Bryndis decides she will put her own power into the process and finds that rowing is more complicated than she thought. Instead of driving the ore deep into the water, she instead skips her ore across its surface. The added drag in turn causes the boat to veer off course and somewhat towards the breakwater.
The motion of the lake’s waters drifts the small boat to the right while constantly fighting against the powerful strokes of your oars. Bryndis doesn’t help the situation with her lack of ability to manipulate the ore’s properly, which throws off the group’s stroke. Even with the relentless battle, you manage to navigate through the large opening of the city’s breakwater and up into its marina. Within the marina, large sailing vessels of all sizes dwarf your small dingy, making your presence somewhat obscured until you reach the docks. Once you tie off the boat and climb out, you notice a couple nearby workers glance your way before continuing with their labor. The dock’s darkened wood stretches about forty foot inland, before reaching a wooden walkway that is lined with a multitude of businesses that run along its length. The wisping presence of a light fog tends to shadow all but the largest of signs, making it difficult to determine what type of business each of the buildings are. One establishment, on the other hand, appears to be some sort of refined tavern. People wearing dark, well-tailored clothing, currently sit at several round tables located outside the establishment. Inside its open double doors, you can see a long, highly glossed, rosewood bar that displays a wide assortment of cigars and tobacco. Behind the counter, multiple glass bottles, containing a variety of alcohol, line up in a series of three multi-tiered rows. Standing close by, a noble looking chap appears to be cleaning an assortment of fine-looking glassware. By your estimate, the place could be a gentleman’s club, or a high-end smoke house.
To the right of the tavern, you see a smaller establishment that is displaying finely tailored gentleman’s clothing. Although the craftsmanship looks to be high quality, it lacks the color and flare of the Varisian people. Further down the boardwalk, a small winery displays a number of sealed barrels and glass bottles. A bit further down, and the last shop that is somewhat clear, is a store with a wide assortment of candy in its window.
To the left of the tavern, a more gothic looking establishment hides behind closed doors. Although the business is obviously open, its drapes are pulled fairly closed, with only a small portion of its window viewable. Within the building, you can see drapes made of high-end material and a number of scantily dressed ladies walking around. A bit further left, a small food house, lined with a number of tables and chares, looks to be doing a fair amount of business. The smell of fresh cooked meat riddles the local air as a result of the business’s efforts. Slightly down from that, the boardwalk meats a cobble stone road that leads deeper into the city.

Darius Radulescu |

"Oh... Looks like we landed in a fancier part of the town." Darius whistles quietly, marveling at the well-dressed people. And his eyes do spend a longer moment at the not-so-dressed ladies in the window - a sight that brings a smile on his lips.
"But they dress horribly monochrome here. It will be hard to blend in." With this thought, he pulls his plain travelling cloak tighter around him, to hide the otherwise very Varisian styles he wears.

Govrina Fireblood |

(I will need to know if Govrina is openly displaying her heritage or attempting to conceal it. If she intends to conceal it, I will require a general description of how she intends to do that and a disguise check roll.)
Govrina is not used to hiding her heritage, but she grew up in a backwater village in the woods where everyone knew who she was since she was a baby. She won’t flaunt her heritage either knowing now how some people take her blood line more seriously the closer you get to the Worldwound. She wouldn’t go so far as to disguise herself, but like in Sandpoint, she will try to simply keep to herself, stand behind others, and cover her more obvious traits with her slightly oversized cloak. Besides, if she tries to disguise herself, people might be MORE suspicious of her then.
