Esinti Venquesti |

Esinti's rope dart is somewhat like a spiked chain, but instead of melee attacks, it makes ranged ones. It doesn't use ammo, it has considerably less range than a bow, and it can't use the feat manyshot. It is a +1 mithral weapon.
The sylph darts forward with astonishing speed and focuses his fatal administrations on the wicked blue woman. The dart sings when Esinti spins the rope and then, after a kick, is launched at the woman.

DM Fang Dragon |

Estini's technique with the seemingly unwieldy rope dart is on point, and his aim was excellent. The problem was, despite hitting her in the face with enough force to impale and seriously wound any normal person, the only damage was a minor scratch.
She made a strange sound that could have been laughter but Valeria's magic warped it into incoherence. Her claws sought out St John's flesh, he expertly parries one claw but leaves himself open to another which gores his left shoulder.

Diana Lotheed |

Diana keeps concentrating on her illusion, having it slash at the demon, but being careful not to have the blade actually hit her.
I'm pretty sure there's nothing more I can do to help out now - I could try to hit it with a crossbow bolt, but I don't think I'd get over her DR even in the unlikely chance that I hit.

DM Fang Dragon |

Valeria takes careful aim with Dignities barb, sending a bolt into the blue woman's center of mass with a loud clack! Unfortunately despite hitting exactly where Valeria wanted, the bolt harmlessly bounced off.
Diana keeps on focusing on her defensive illusion.
St John bravely ploughs on, landing a solid hit with his Falcata which left a shallow wound which bled freely. Unfortunately his buckler just bounced off and the woman evades his other attacks.
Triphylla expertly lofted a bottle of Ghast Retch which to everyone near's instant regret shattered on the blue woman's face, earning the halfling a tongue tied tirade of gibberish as Valeria's earlier spell continued to hold.

DM Fang Dragon |

St John and Lope soar around the room searching for where the blue woman might have gone. They quickly notice that the catwalk level provides entry to the building's three towers. The western tower door is locked. The central tower door is is crowded with human-size dressmaker’s dummies, each wearing an elaborate gown, shawl, or cloak. The floor near the dummies is cluttered with pairs of nice shoes. The northwest corner contains a set of stone stairs leading up.
A quick look into the lower eastern tower room reveals a boxy room carpeted with elaborate rugs of Keleshite design. Additional rugs hang from pegs driven into the brick walls. A stone staircase ascends to the northeast.
Getting up to the catwalk for those unable to fly looks challenging, since the metal stairs that once lead up are either gone or part of the crumpled mess in the centre of the room.
At some point during this investigation the summoned insects below wink out.

Esinti Venquesti |

Esinti follows after St. John. It wouldn't do to split up in a place like this. When they move, Lope's wounds become apparent, and their severity is a cause for worry. "Can we apply magic to ease Lope's wounds, perhaps? If not, I have a wand of healing for whoever can wield such magical devices."
Esinti has a wand of CLW with 50 charges. Feel free to use it when needed.

Triphylla Achlys |

It occurs to Triphylla that the mind-capturing monster is certainly evil and demonic in nature.
"A blessed weapon, or a weapon of good alignment should more easily defeat the succubus. Cold iron would cut to her nature. I have in my kit six doses of weapon blanch that bestows a cold iron quality. It is most effectively used on ammunition; Dignity's Barb could be made more lethal. Does anyone else have missile weapons to use? Otherwise I can coat our blades which will be good for one hit, so make them count. You could drop a blade after the first strike and take up a second which has also been coated. Give me your weapons and I will work quickly."
While the rest of the group is searching for the demon, the halfling prepares their weapons for the final battle.

Lope de Vega |

Lope descends to Triphylla and lends her his cold iron dagger "Here, you can throw this. If it would be useful, you can blanch my sword, but maybe I can find other ways to harm her" a glimpse in his eye points some magic to try break the succubus defenses.
Then, he looks up at the towers "She has probably gone up into one of those towers. I can help bring you up as the stairs are in crap condition, but let's first refresh. She has proven to be dangerous."
He takes the group's wand of healing and starts trying to activate it.

With the trap inside the pile of machinery disarmed thanks to Triphylla, this is now the safest (although not exactly safe) way to climb up to the catwalk. The metal does shift a little as you climb up with Lope's assistance, but mercifully nothing falls and no one gets hurt.
As you step into the tower you immediately notice the floor is covered by rugs of a Keleshite design, with more adorning the walls. A stone staircase ascends to the northeast and a door stands in the south wall atop a few steep steps.

Now
Esinti is so focused on what they might encounter upstairs that it completely escapes his thoughts that there might be a trap right here in this very room! By the time he catches up to this truth, the creature of ice and anger is already upon them.

DM Fang Dragon |

Valeria correctly identifies the elemental and its weakness, with the sheer physicality of the ice elemental in her face, her spell unfortunately fizzles.
St John was on the opposite side of the elemental from Triphylla, which he took full advantage of, smashing the elemental with his buckler. He landed two solid blows which sent shards of ice flying!
Note it has DR 5/- which I don't think the party has a way to bypass.
Lope's sword burst into flame as he landed a well judged cut which sizzled as Gloria struck!
Lope's damage: 4 + 8 + 1 + 4 * 1.5 - 2 - 5 = 12
Having tested Lope and finding the Magus difficult to hit, the Ice Elemental sought a softer target! Valeria cursed when she fumbled her prayer and then cried out in pain when the bastard hit her and the cold took hold. She took a chance and tried to cast her prayer again as she tried to avoid attracting the elemental's attention.

bestow curse touch attack DC 20 Will: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14
She managed to complete her prayer this time and Valeria reached out to touch the elemental. When she reached it the black energy on her hand released into the thing as she cursed it.
Using the "–4 penalty on attack rolls, saves, ability checks, and skill checks" effect.

DM Fang Dragon |

Valeria invokes the wrath of Noctulla, and with a word her hand is surrounded by a nimbus of purple darkness. She lashes out at the elemental and like a contagion its very essence is infiltrated by a webwork of pulsating darkness!
Will save DC 20 with riving strike: 1d20 + 3 - 2 ⇒ (7) + 3 - 2 = 8 <--- FAIL
Lope's sword sizzles as it cuts deeply into the elemental, thin wisps of steam rise from the wound.
Beset on all sides, the elemetal lashes out at random.
Who?: 1d6 ⇒ 5 Estini.
One ice fist flys over your heads but the other careens towards Estini with bone crunching force, but at the last moment Estini darts aside. The elemental's fist smashes into the wall, knocking out a dish sized chunk of plaster!

Fly (hover) DC 15: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (20) + 9 = 29

Esinti Venquesti |

Now the target of the elemental's ire, Esinti focuses on keeping its attention while trying his very, very best to dodge its brutal attacks. One mistake against this foe could prove fatal. It is the deadliest of dances Esinti has had in quite some time.

Diana Lotheed |

Diana moves slightly in case the elemental tries to hit her where it has last seen her, and places an illusory ward over Estini, in case the elemental manages to overcome its blindness.
Using Subtle Misdirection on Estini

Triphylla Achlys |

Sorry, traveling.
attack: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (9) + 9 = 18

Valeria Turanor |

Deciding that she should do a little more to reduce the elemntal's ability to fight back Valeria once more assumed a defensive stance as she cast the prayer again.
cast defensive 3rd lvl spell DC21: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (11) + 11 = 22
touch attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16
Successfully pulling off the prayer and reaching out to touch her target Valeria discharged more a second curse into the icy creature.
DC 20 Will: Each turn, the target has a 50% chance to act normally; otherwise, it takes no action.

This close Triphylla was hard pressed to miss with the firework which was producing a fountain of sparks and prodigious quantities of sulphurous fumes. The flames and sparks melted and blackened the ice, and soon there was a sizable puddle of icy water!
Being very cautious, Estini attacked but he was unable to connect with any force.
Lurking behind Triphylla, Diana summons a protective illusion over Estini.
IIUC Triphylla provides soft cover so even though the elemetal has reach, it can't take an AOO.
Valeria reaches out once more and touches the elemental, and suddenly it's eyes darken as she clouds its mind.
Will DC 20 with riving strike: 1d20 + 3 - 2 ⇒ (10) + 3 - 2 = 11 <--- FAIL
Lope's blade Gloria flashes out and sheers off a large chunk of ice!
Chance to act normally, > 50 = yes: 1d100 ⇒ 11 <--- NO ACTION.
The elemental just stood there taking the beating, it's weak mind utterly in thrall to the siren song implanted by Valeria. Triphylla continued to aim her firework at the elemental, melting off one of its hands. St John's blades bit deeply leaving a cracked area. Spotting this, Estini slammed his gauntlet into the cracked area, dramatically expanding the cracked area. Finally Lope rams his flaming sword into the elemental's chest up to the hilt and it collapses before quickly melting on the floor.
COMBAT OVER
The trapdoor clearly hasn't been opened in a long time, and the dusty cobweb checked crawl space below contains:
* An elegant silver vase adorned with images of foxes. Appraise DC 14
* A carved a chalcedony beetle. Appraise DC 15
* A gold drinking stein set with sparkling emeralds. Appraise DC 18
* A slim willow wand with silver inlay. This check is trivial for Diana, it's a wand of cure light wounds with 50 charges.

Triphylla Achlys |

Triphylla reveals the trap door in the floor.
appraise: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 71d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7

Esinti Venquesti |

Esinti gives the items an appraising look and nods approvingly. "Looks valuable, but you could show me any antique and I'd tell you that." It's the wand that gets him most excited, once Diana identifies it, for the icy monstrosity did manage to hurt him.
"Would you mind using this, or one of the other wands, to treat my wounds, Valeria?"
Esinti is currently at 39/57 HP

Diana Lotheed |

Trivial? The last Spellcraft checks have been awful, culminating with Diana failing to identify the very spell she used earlier in the day! :)
Appraise: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20
Appraise: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16
Appraise: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
Diana takes a good look at the items under the trap door Triphylla uncovered, scanning them for magic as well.
"They do seem valuable to me, as well, although I can't really say how valuable that stein can be. Only the wand is magical, as you might have guessed - healing magic, as it were, and it's fully charged too."
She nods at Esinti's request. "I... Could use some healing, as well. I'm still reeling from that blow. We should be careful going up, we should expect similar traps on the way - that creature had the advantage against us in this small room. I'm glad you all managed to bring it down so swiftly."
Diana is at 21/38 HP

Triphylla Achlys |

"A moment," Triphylla begs while the others heal themselves of the wounds from previous battles. She has one more extract available to craft in her pool today, and she uses the next few minutes to make one more Shield extract, which she then consumes, along with her dose of Invisibility.
Then, having been influenced once already, she drinks a vial of Essence of Independence.
"Here, swallow these. It will give you an edge when the time comes."
She hands out Blood Boiling Pills to everyone in the group. +2 Initiative but watch out for bleed
