To Triphylla's dismay and amazement, the white ram shape wavers to reveal a tall blue skinned woman, draped in revealing attire and the bits of machinery that appeared to trap her fall aside. Her sultry gaze falls on Triphylla with a wicked smile suggesting all manner of debased pleasures, with her little finger in the corner of her mouth she coos, "Little one, you and I shall be such friends! Oh! The pleasure and the pain we shall share together, it will be exquisite!"

You have fallen victim to a charm monster spell.
A sensual pairing of seduction and destruction, pairakas embody the corruptive nature of unbridled lust. Pairakas spend little time in their true form while on the Material Plane, choosing to cloak themselves instead in alluring forms to seduce potential victims, ruin relationships, and foment obsession. In its true form, a pairaka’s body is a foul landscape of blazing rashes, oozing pustules, and taut blisters suggestive of the corruptions it harbors, bodily and spiritually.
Pairakas pride themselves on perversion. They love nothing more than turning lovers against one another or destroying the bonds of friendship. Pairakas feed off this slow torment and savor each broken heart or disappointment. They use lust and sexuality as their primary tools, wielding taboos and carnal appetites to sever once-friendly relationships. Pairakas also use their seduction to spread disease, charming victims into physical contact.
Just as all other divs suffer a weakness, pairakas cannot stand the color red. They never wear the color or enter a place that is painted red, and they always attack creatures that are garbed in clothes of a crimson hue first.

Valeria felt a wash of revulsion and hatred towards the now former ram when it changed its form. She knew what it was after seeing several attack the succubi harem that had imprisoned her in one of her few lucid moments there. Valeria shrugged off the terror that memory brought forth and focused on the thing before her and let that swell of hatred stick with her, wherever it came from.
"Careful, she's the div rip off of a succubus! If you are wearing red, she will be coming for you first!" Getting just within range for her prayer to affect the div Valeria called out, "Nocitucla, the Redeemer Queen! I beseech you let this creature suffer your displeasure!" A pulse of divine hatred lashed out at the div in an effort to make it harder for her to hit them.

Also, Triphylla is holding a lantern, as of about 2/3 the way up this page. She used her free hand to invoke the ioun stone and it now rests on the lever.
"That's unfair," Triphylla replies to Lope. "You're forgetting when I single-handedly convinced Sir Guisarme to surrender to us. And there was that other time when I fooled the Emperor into killing himself. You don't give me enough credit, and I'm kind of hurt, to be honest. My friend here has described to me a wonderful evening of pleasure and pain that I bet Cyrene would wholly endorse, were she still with us. That reminds me, what ever happened to the dagger I lent her? Oh fret. Your horns are exquisite, by the by. I have a pair of my own I bet you'd like to see. Oh, and what does this lever do?"

While her knowledge of outsiders still needs quite a bit of further study, there's little doibt in her mind as to the cause of Triphylla's friendliness towards the demon.
"No one has forgotten your contributions to our goals, Triphylla. Lope was just surprised at your friend's sudden appearance. But don't forget why we're here - we're trying to stop those terrible nightmares plaguing the town. We should deal with the cause as swiftly as possible, right?"

Triphylla shrugs off her friends righteous outrage. The monster isn't attacking her, and the group seems plenty capable of taking down one nasty demon. She was excited to see how the new guys fared. Finding a piece of junk against which to lean, she lets go the lever and fishes in her sack for cutting of spiced jerky to gnaw while she watched the festivities. Sorry I need to retcon my description of Estini's attack from last round. This thing has DR 10/Magic so while Lope's attacks do full damage, I think Estini's don't.
Triphylla takes a wad of something that might be alchemically enhanced tobacco and starts chewing. I'm reminded of this.
Lope's sword Gloria bites deeply into the wolf-thing's flank, sending blood flying and causing it to howl!
In as many heartbeats, Esinti lofts a trio of arrows. The first shatters on the things snout but frustratingly it leaves barely a scratch. The next two arrows miss and the final one hits but it again shatters as if he'd been firing point blank into a stone wall. Even so the massive lupine creature has lost a lot of blood and is looking increasingly ragged.
Floating above the blue woman gives St John a saucy wink, "Darling I know just the thing for you!" and then she starts chanting the words to a spell!

Apologies for the delay!
Turning her attention to the canine, Dianna opened her mouth to scream, but no sound came out at all. Strangely the creature thrashed and blood welled up out of its ears.

Lope does his best to endure the powerful blows of the canine and answer in place with the magic of his blade. He steps aside to give Tryp an opening.

DM Fang Dragon |
Desperately hoping to stop her summoning, Triphylla threw a vial silence dust at the blue woman. Triphylla's throw was well judged and the vial struck her face, smashing into a cloud of choking dust. Surprised the blue woman laughed, but her voice was quiet as if far away...
Lope delivered a pair of truly vicious attacks, thrusting Gloria so deep into the beasts flank that her flame seemed to be snuffed out only for it to burst back when he shoved his boot on thing's corpse to yank it back out! In death the caine thing twitched and a thin stream of smoke came out of its nose and ears.
With his target dead, Esinti whirled on to the Blue woman and lofted a quartet of arrows faster than seemed possible. The arrows slammed into her skin with terrible force, smashing into flinders, leaving small marks behind. That DR!
Only 2 arrows hit, doing an extra 3 damage. This increases the concentration check DC to 25. There's also a -5 penalty from the Silence Dust.
Concentration DC 25: 1d20 + 19 - 5 ⇒ (18) + 19 - 5 = 32 <--- PASS
AH dice bot wants the summons to go through...
Despite everyone's best efforts the blue woman's now nonsensical chating came to a quiet crescendo and suddenly the air was filled with the demented drone of angry wasps! At that same moment, the blue woman shouted another nonsensical word, and it seemed like she was about to cast some other spell but it fizzled as Valeria's curse took hold!

Valeria Turanor |
While the initial spell was not stopped whatever the b~*+* tried to cast next was! The swarm she produced assaulted Valeria and she quickly moved away from it, pulling Dignity's Barb, and loaded her weapons.
Triphylla Achlys |
Sidestepping the swarms, Triphylla reaches into her pack for her jar of vermin repellent. She quickly scoops some out and slathers it across her neck and arms and then holds the jar up for Diana to take it from her, if she wants it.
"Diana!" she shouts to get the wizard's attention. I would have gone to Valeria first but action economy was unfavorable.

Lope de Vega |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |
Lope eyes the walls and ceiling but observes it is too far from where the woman is flying. He does put his hand on his pocket and takes a wing feather "I was saving this trick, but I guess it needs to be done now"
With a word of power the feather is consumed and Lope's feed start to float over the ground. With the haste and the enhanced speed, the Aldori flies to go meet the woman "You, batwoman, don't leave just yet before we can dance together"
With haste and fly, speed is 90'

Diana Lotheed |
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (2) + 15 = 17
Diana cries out as she tries to run outside the cloud of killer wasps. Distracted as she is from the stings and buzzing sounds, she fails to understand just what their foe was trying to cast.
"Thank you for your concern, Triphylla, but if I understand the spell she cast correctly, the wasps won't move from the spots where they were summoned, so we should be safe if we just avoid them."
Unsure what else to throw at their foe, Diana thinks back to Valeria's warning about this type of demon, and tries to get her attention by creating an illusion of a redhaired angelic being next to her, wearing a flowing crimson colored robe and wielding a shield and sword apparently made from bright reddish metal.
Casting Silent Image to create the illusion described above, Will Save DC 16 to disbelief if interacted with.
Triphylla Achlys |
Triphylla pulls back the jar. "I hope you're right!"
DM Fang Dragon |
Valeria moved out of the swarm and loaded Dignity's Barb.
Diana conjured the image of a red-haired angelic being next to her, hoping it might draw some of the blue-skinned woman's ire.
Meanwhile St John kept up his furious assault. Most of his blows either didn't connect or didn't seem to do any damage but he managed to catch the woman in an awkward way that caused her arm to bleed profusely causing her to suck in air suddenly as the pain surprised her.
Triphylla slathers some rather pungent bug repellant over herself, but the Diana points out that the summoned insects are unable to move.
Lope uses the power of a feather token and rises up in the air to face the blue woman.
I'll give Estini another day before I bot.
