Given the time you ae able to see two platforms, much like a hunter's stand, up amongst the branches of the trees overhead. The female voice says "Screw this, Jask. Just shoot them. They found this place and we can't let them just leave and tell the Archbaron where we're at. Riley," she shouts across the trees "Sound the alarm, let the others know we have company!"
A pair of arrows whistle in from above with one striking the tree Fellzir is hiding behind and the other sticks in the ground next Guillaume as a bell begins to chime.

Fellzir's attempt to sow distrust seem to fall on deaf ears as his crossbow shot sails wide and is lost in the foliage above.
Flavius limerick seems to strike home as there is a shout from somewhere above "I'm going to kill you for that, Devil-boy!"
Cimri climbs the ladder to the top and jumps down onto a platform suspended between several tree branches.
Shrike rushes across the clearing as he sees Cimri climb the ladder and disappear over a landing above.

Amid the confusion of the clamorous alarm bell ringing and the rain of arrows from the shadowy canopy of dense tree limbs above, Cimri spots a rope ladder tethered cleverly among some vines. She sprints to free it from it’s camouflage, calling your attention to the path upwards before scrambling up it quickly and onto the platform above. ”What are you waiting for? An embossed invitation?” She quips with a smirk.
Up top, a fragile looking wooden railing runs along the edge of this broad platform. Near the center of the platform, an elaborate lift hangs beneath an array of ropes and pulleys. To the east, a small wooden shack huddles near the trunk of a mighty tree.
As the reverberations of the bell begin to fade, your eyes are drawn to a neighboring platform where a familiar blonde bard begins strumming his lute. Pale boughs cradle this roughly square platform. A beam at the center of the platform supports a kettle-sized bronze bell still swaying from Riley’s alarm.
”Wait, didn’t we kill that guy?” Cimri asks softly, then her mouth twists in distaste. ”F#@&ing clerics…”
Riley grins at her exclamation, ”Indeed, the perks of the Glorious Reclamation far exceed those of enslavement to the Thrice Dammned House of Thrune. Something tells me they won’t even spring for a pauper’s stone to mark your passing.” He sneers at Aurelius’ verse and casts a bit of sand in Cimri’s and The Shrike’s direction. They both crumple to the platform floor, unconscious. ”Oh dear, your rhyme was so trite, your fair lady nodded right off. Though I doubt it’s the first time.”

Movement attracts your eye as two archers on further platforms loose yet more arrows at those still climbing the ladder.

Guillaume trots across the narrow, rickety bridge to the next platform. Gigantic pale trunks reach through gaps in this mossy platform. Railings surround much of the area, but have fallen away in several spots, along with half of a building still clinging to one of the tree trunks. Treacherous hanging bridges stretch to the north and east.
Guillaume Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25
Quite right to anticipate such shenanigans. I put you back with just one double move expended. There is an alternative path besides the trapped bridge, a "tightrope". A pair of ropes, one above the other, requiring a DC 10 climb check to cross successfully. If you take the trapped bridge, give me a reflex save to see how you fare.

Aurelius takes a quick moment to waken Cimri with a boot to the ass before he follows Guillaume’s lead across the bridge and shelters behind a tree trunk. The Shrike stalks over after them and loops in front of Aurelius to menace the woman on the middle platform. She utters a low wail and a sheen of perspiration gleams on her forehead as she struggles to bite back her fear of the terrible masked figure and steady herself to fire again.
Cimri regains her feet and gives Aurelius a smoldering glare as she dusts his boot print from the seat of her pants. She then follows over the bridge, drawing her kukri.
Riley laughs brightly as he drops his lute and pulls his shortbow, drawing a bead on Fellzir and firing to strike the cloaked cleric. ”After your gentle ministrations, I’m sure she would much prefer to return to her sweet dreams of me.” He purrs, flashing Cimri a grin and a roguish wink. Cimri hisses in disgust, bristling like a feral cat.

The woman in Blue wipes her brow and swallows as she raises her bow and fires an arrow at The Shrike, but she fails to hit her mark.

The man in Yellow shimmies across the tightrope before him and safely reaches the next platform. He raises his bow to fire on Guillaume, but this shot also goes wide.

A faint rustling from boughs above is the only warning the intruders receive as a quartet of small leaf-clad creatures appear above them and hurl what seem to be acorns that burst with an ear-rending POP as they all strike the four who have crossed the bridge. Most of you shake off the ringing in your ears but The Shrike can only hear a high-pitched whine in the aftermath.
They are above you in the tree canopy beyond melee range.
Exceed the check by 5 or more and you can ask for more details about them.

Ears still ringing, The Shrike looks around for the cause of it. And finally, he looks up and sees the... whatever it is - Acorn-tossing moving bush. More annoyance, than danger, it seems. But with enemies all around it's better to deal with these before moving on.
He turns his masked face upwards, towards the cyan plant creature, and spits curses towards it.
"Come down here, and pull your leaves off and crumble them under my boot!" his voice coming out even louder than normal, but not hearing it himself.

Fellzir and Riley trade potshots, Fellzir getting the better of the exchange, but only just.
Guillaume responds quickly before the leafy creature can ascend out of his reach into the canopy above, the axe like blade of his bardiche hews through the pulpy, green body with little resistance. It's body thumps to the floorboards of the platform heavily, like a rotten melon, oozing juice.
White Fall Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 1
He then draws and throws an axe, striking the next creature and burying the blade into the woody armor. Though it seems badly wounded, this one does not yet fall.
Aurelius continues to trade jibes with the bard, and then commands one of the leafy folk to approach. The creature merely blows a raspberry and flashes a grin of thorn-like teeth, apparently impervious to the compulsion.
The Shrike booms angrily at the shrub-like nuisance above him and is rewarded with a fearful squeak and the rustle of a leafy shudder, neither of which he can hear.
Cimri hesitates over her favorite Kukri and passes it to her off hand as she draws one of her less valuable daggers to throw instead. A prudent choice given that it misses the mark and skewers only air as it falls to the forest floor below.
Ranged Dagger vs Orange: 1d20 + 4 - 2 ⇒ (9) + 4 - 2 = 11
Riley scoffs at Aurelius question. "Ah, no experience with the Lore of Nature? Not surprising, given the unnatural thing you are…” He continues to inspire his comrades as he raises his bow to fire at Fellzir again.

As Fellzir finishes off one enemy I'm guessing that'll do for orange, Guillaume turns to attack another. Magenta Growing increasingly annoyed with these nuisance attacks, he begins to notice the red mist creeping into his vision. Rage! +1/+1 against Iomedaeans as usual. Also, I stepped closer because with magenta moving up I'm guessing I need the reach vertically instead of horizontally. If that's not the case, step me back one.

Fellzir turns his crossbow on the green vermin pestering the party and strikes it critically with his quarrel. It tumbles through the leafy canopy and falls down to the forest floor below. The boughs seem to cradle its small form, breaking the speed of its fall softly.

Guillaume lunges with his bardiche toward the one above him but his reach is just short of striking the now cautious creature.
Aurelius commands the shaken woman in Blue to approach. Her eyes glaze as the spell takes effect.

The Shrike’s demoralizing diatribe has such an impact on the creature that it seems to faint and fall from its leafy perch. This one plummets heavily, with less gentle branches to break its fall.

Cimri doubles back, drawing another dagger and throwing at the last remaining creature. She strikes her mark soundly this time, burying the dagger to the hilt in its pulpy flesh. ”Gotcha, you shrubby little s#*t!” She crows gleefully.

Riley continues to try and harry Fellzir with arrows but misses his target as the woman in Blue puts her hand to the tightrope and begins to make her way towards the bard. As she obscures his view, Riley yells, ”Parenna, what in the Hells are you doing? Shoot them!” But she pays him no heed, preparing to lower another rope ladder to the forest floor below.

Fellzir loads his crossbow and turns his fire again on the bard. His aim is critically accurate, striking Kels near the base of his throat. Riley paws uselessly at the deeply seated quarrel, uttering a rasping gurgle as he crumples to the floorboards of the platform. ”Riley!” The woman in Blue cries out in alarm.
Guillaume curses in frustration as he struggles to catch sight of the retreating acorn-lobber, but then his baleful eye falls on the nearby man in Yellow, he stomps closer, drawing another axe and hurls it across the gap to slice through the leather armor covering his chest to wound him heavily.
Aurelius turns his magical skill with compulsion on the wounded man, commanding him to approach. His eyes glaze as the spell takes effect. Satisfied, the Omdura moves to an area that offers some concealment from the remaining archers.

The Shrike takes a defensive posture, anticipating another hail of arrows.

Cimri searches the canopy above for the leafy pest, but also cannot spot the well concealed creature. With a ”Tsk!” of annoyance, she approaches the door nearby and throws it open, confirming no further enemies lie in wait behind it. She then cautions the group. “Be wary, that bridge is rigged to give way. I don’t see any way to disable it from here.”
The woman in Blue seems to have mastered her fear but her concern for the fallen bard seems to outweigh her aggression. She moves to take cover, drawing something small from her pouch and kneels down to render aid.
The man in Yellow makes his way to the nearby tightrope and crosses it, albeit unsteadily. He then walks toward the party over the trapped bridge.

There is indeed a tightrope near The Shrike's current position that will bypass the bridge. I have highlighted it with a white line to make it clearer on the map. It requires a DC 10 climb check to traverse, though that is at 1/4 speed. A DC 15 for 1/2 speed, and if you pull off a 20+ climb, I will allow you to move at full speed. I think it might technically be more, but we'll call it 20 feet.

Yellow Fall Damage: 3d6 ⇒ (6, 6, 1) = 13
Yellow Stabilize: 1d20 + 1 - 4 ⇒ (20) + 1 - 4 = 17
Red: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10
Fellzir's bolt goes wide of the mark, but Aurelius' command and The Shrike's demoralization prove to be too much for the man in Yellow. He shudders and begins to walk down the rickety bridge to his doom at the hands of the bardiche wielding Tiefling, who stands ready to dispatch him.
The man in Green calls sorrowfully. "I'm sorry, Jask..." Then he throws the lever. The bridge collapses beneath the man's feet as it crashes to the forest floor below. Jask does not move from the splintered wreckage. The man in Green retreats around the corner and disappears from view.
You hear a stifled sob from the woman in Blue and you notice that she has revived the bard. He gets to his feet unsteadily, takes one look at the wreckage below and makes a beeline for the ladder. "Riley?!" she wails in protest. "These bastards already killed me once, damn near twice. We're no good to the Reclamation dead." His next words are quiet, for her ears alone. But soon she follows him and they both descend the ladder.
"What a lily-livered, yellow bellied cur!" Cimri exclaims in disgust.
Out of Combat! You can regroup, heal, discuss tactics, and maybe most importantly, take ten to make it across the tightrope to the next platform. XD

Riley(Red) and Parenna(Blue) do indeed descend to the forest floor. Those of you with bows may continue to try and harry them as they attempt to escape. Much like they attacked you when you arrived.
The man in Green has simply retreated back where you can no longer see him. Now with the fallen bridge, the tightropes are the only way forward.

Yes, this area is where you were beset by the acorn-throwers, one of them is fallen on this platform, but the rest fell down below. I'll try to save you some time: they don't speak common, abyssal or infernal.
"That bard is as yellow as his hair." Cimri agrees. "He always runs... It's a wonder these religious fools bothered to raise him. I guess they felt guilty that Aurelius nearly split him in half when he was pretending to be the Angel Knight." She smiles fondly at the Omdura, remembering the carnage.
At The Shrike's question, she peers down at the body in the wreckage of the bridge below. "He's not moving, but can't tell if he's breathing from here. I can go check, need to see if I can find my lost knives anyway. He might have some loot, at least."

Fellzir's bolt strikes the yellow-haired bard in the middle of the back as he reaches the bottom of the ladder. Having only been healed enough to regain his consciousness (and cowardice), he drops like a sack of potatoes.
Parenna steps delicately over his body as she reaches the bottom of the ladder herself, and after a panicked look toward Jask, legs it quickly away.
"Ha! Good shot, Fellzir. That really is a Crossbow of Doom." Cimri crows and then tilts her head to the side as she watches the woman sprint away. Heading in the direction you all came from. "What do you want to bet, she's heading back to the Fort for reinforcements? Boy, is she in for a surprise!" She adds with a wicked grin.
She nods her agreement at Aurelius's assertion of needing ranged weapons. "They have a fair few here. Let's see what we can find." She waits patiently for her promised healing and then makes her way down to the forest floor to search for goodies. "Hey, if you want to interview these guys, they're both still breathing. You want to bring them up?"

Cimri jangles the manacles playfully, "Kinky, not to mention useful. Who should we wake up first?" Both men are stable, but Riley is the less hurt of the two.
