Here it is folks, starting a new thread so this information doesn't get lost.
Build Rules
Your submission should include:
Also please note I have a number of house rules and rulings that I've put in the campaign tab.
Recruitment will go on until I have 6 submissions I like but will run at minimum until 7/4/2022

DM_Delmoth |

Curiosity, that I would appreciate being addressed in the recruitment thread:
Do you prefer characters that belong in Southern Taldor (story starting point), or characters that belong in the frozen tundra?
The Player's Guide certainly suggests building characters for the tundra, despite where the story begins.
I'm asking, of course, to help shape my submission.
Play what you want, either works. But keep in mind you will need an answer for cold weather. Even if that is just a cold weather outfit, which IIRC you will have an opportunity to purchase before you get cold.
A similar question hustonj's about local vs cold weather characters, but more specific.
I'm thinking about a Twilight Speaker archetype Skald since it's whole party friendly without the rage acceptance issues. That would mean the character would have to be an Ilvarani/Snowcaster Elf. On the other hand, Twilight Speakers specifically travel outside the Crown of the World to the south as goodwill ambassadors/chroniclers/spies.
Is it too wacky to have one happen to be in the right area in Taldor at the campaign's beginning?
Not too wacky at all. I play with Dorian, my tolerance for wacky is high.

Elyn Fisker |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |

Terrific! I’ve been hoping for a Reign of Winter group for a while; I’d written up the skald Elyn Fisker for a game years ago that never got rolling and always liked her. The Skalds’ combat utility depends a lot on who else is in the party, of course, but she’d provide strong melee support for sure, along with social/knowledge skills and an insatiable appetite for folklore. Long-term, she should be a pretty good diviner with the Fated Champion’s version of spell kenning and (way later) the Skald Saga of the Witch Queen.
https://www.myth-weavers.com/sheet.html#id=1887664
Some people have their stories written right in their skin. Elyn Fisker does, though it's hard to tell sometimes. Elyn gets sunburned a lot.
She owes her complexion, and she supposes, her stature, to her father, a ship's pilot who raised her when he could between trips across the Inner Sea. He was from the north, plainly, but never said exactly where. It didn't matter, he'd reply when queried; he could never go back. Elyn often asked him why; he said he'd tell her the story one day when she was older.
He never did, but not a day went by that he wasn’t spinning some tale for her — poems his mother taught him, seafaring adventures, songs he seemed to make up as he went along. Now he was a storyteller — not a drop of actual magic in his whole body, but he had forgotten more tales than many a bard with a fancy college behind their name.
She’d watched town drunks, spellbound as her father told a particularly long tale in a tavern’s great room, stopper their whiskey bottles lest they pass out too soon and miss the end. That’s how good he was.
And then, when Elyn was in her teens, he packed most of his belongings — save for his flute, which he gave to her — and sailed for the north again. Whatever he couldn’t go back to, he must have changed his mind. He hugged Elyn before he left and told her he hoped he see her again, but made no promises, and she respected that.
He left her with Mara, one of the many women he’d befriended in his time in the south and a true bard, with one of those fancy college names after her own. Elyn’s magic was much rougher than Mara’s, but the older woman agreed to take her on as an apprentice and for nearly two years they’ve traveled the coasts and beyond, playing for whoever would listen.
Until a week ago, when they finished up a set late and one of the men got fresh. Mara would’ve handled it better; Elyn had seen her chasten a crowd of rowdies with just a raised eyebrow. Elyn didn’t know the eyebrow trick, so she used her elbow.
After the brawl ended, a furious Mara visited Elyn in jail and told her she was leaving. If Elyn was serious about her training, she could try to catch up once the constables let her out. But Mara would have the horses, and a long head start.
Which brings Elyn to Heldren, on the trail of her estranged mentor — unless a better path presents itself.

Hello All!
This is Dorian Grey's submission.
I will drop Trapfinder and reallocate that 1 Rank, and add 10gp to his purse.
Fluff is just a personality scene, but I will write up the rest as instructed.
Any questions, concerns (not the wacky ones) or any fun quotes, let me know!
Thank you for running!!!

Ilse Haecht |

Hi GM, here's Lapyd with my submission for the game - Mughana Mountainrise! She's a Dwarf Shifter. The crunch is there as well, but I'm working some last details on it as I focused on the concept and background first (and will check your custom/house rules).
Thanks again for running it!
@Barnaby: Loved the pet ant thing!

Bryndís Raelyosradinsdóttir |

Here's Bryndis, my submission. She's a Half Elf of Ulfen and Snowcaster Elf extraction. Bryndis is an Urban/Primalist Bloodrager with the Arcane Bloodline.
I'm still working on some details but her character sheet, including background and reason for being Taldor are finished and in the profile.
The recruitment questions are covered in the profile character sheet, but so the answer are explicit and easy to find:
A character concept: briefly explain who they are and what they bring to the party.
Bryndis is a Half Elf who is fairly recently arrived in Taldor from Kalsgard in the Lands of the Linnorm Kings. As an arcane bloodline Bloodrager, her role is melee combatant with a specialty as a mage hunter.
Backstory: A brief overview of your character's history, showing what motivates them.
Bryndis's mother is a particularly nasty witch who eventually murdered her Elven husband, Bryndis's father. When Bryndis proved to have no talent for witchcraft, she fled her home to escape a terrible situation where she feared for her life. Because her mother is extremely vindictive, Bryndis decided to put a lot of distant between herself and her mother, fleeing the city entirely and coming to Taldor.
Why Heldren: Why is your character in the small town of Heldren in southern Taldor?
Bryndis is picking up odd jobs as a caravan guard or bodyguard, or really whatever someone might need someone handy with a sword for. She's looking for work. Her ultimate goal is to gain a place in the Ulfen Guard, but she knows she needs to do something exceptional to get noticed first.
A little crunch: This should at minimum be a race/class/archetype combo. I don't need full crunch at this time, but if that's your thing go wild.
I went wild.

Aurinkuu Tettyakka, or Aurin, a young winter witch, devoted to the spirits of winter, who is destined to become a Winter Witch!
The concept is a winter witch, born and raised away from Irresin. Not twisted by the politics, and never forced to fight for her place, Aurin believes the powers she wields can be used without malice and in the defense of innocents.
Tragedy struck quickly though when she turned thirteen. Her mother took ill, a ravaging disease that neither her mother nor the local priesthood could understand. Within a week, her mother had passed leaving her father to raise her alone. He loved Aurin and did the best he could, and even tragedy he still saw to making sure she grew up happy.
The strangeness began on the night of Aurin’s sixteenth birthday. She took ill that night, like her mother did years before. Her father feared the worse, but Aurin told him not to worry. Don’t fear Papa. Mama has sent her white weasel friend to care for me. He said he would return tomorrow night with help. Aurin’s father assumed she was delirious from fever, and the next day he set off to get the priest, in hopes he had learned what this may be.
Aurin’s father returned home to find her laughing in her room. Safe and no longer ill, though there seemed a chill to her as if she had been swimming in the early spring. Storutor came back, just like he said he would. He read some words from a paper and then pronounced ‘The curse is lifted.’ Then I felt better. Aurin’s father did not care that none of it made sense to him, though deep in his mind he knew what she said was true. Her mother had an ermine familiar, perhaps she had looked out for Aurin after all.
From the day of her miraculous recovery, Aurin received daily visits from Storutor, or Star Foot as he preferred to be called. He did in fact have a star on the pad of each paw, so it seemed appropriate. He would speak to her, telling her stories of the north, of the mighty magic the witches could control. He eventually told her about the dangers her parents had faced. Aurin had so many questions but nagged at her the most.
Storutor, she asked one day. How is it you can speak? And how is it that Mama never told me of her ermine friend?
This young Aurin is truly why I am here. the ermine replied. I am the son of your mother’s familiar. Your mother was a witch, as I have said, and all witches have a trusted friend. And I, Aurin have been sent to teach you and guide you to help the spirits of snow and ice. This is your birthright Aurin. Tomorrow we begin.
Aurin slept little that night, and many nights for months. A combination of excitement, and anxiety keep her mind from drifting off and just below the surface was a hint of dread. Who had cursed me? Who would have cursed her mother? She asked Star Foot, but that he was never clear on. He seemed to know more, but he brushed it off a number of times. Still though, even with the sleepless nights, even with the dread she felt about what may be hidden from her, still she remained a happy young woman.
Now, at the age of 23, Aurin helps her father on the farm. She serves as the healer for the community. She had taken up the role her mother had filled, and she continued to receive visits from her familiar. Life is simple, help the sick, feed the chickens, and learn to fire a ice blue bolt of magic to freeze your target’s nerves. Aurin wanted nothing to change, she was happy but the peacefulness was not going to last forever..
Her father returned from his monthly trip south to the small town of Heldren with word of trouble. A child had fallen into a nearby lake but when she was found she had the most unusual wound. An area, a hand print I am told it looked like, around her arm had turn black, the flesh all but dead. I’d swear it was frostbite if only it was not a warm spring day. The poor child isn’t expected to live through the week. Such a tragic thing.
That night Star Foot came to see her, and he had heard the same tale. Young Aurin, this child needs the help of a skilled healer, and from the sound of the wound, one skilled in the damage cold can do to one’s body. I think you should, and I think this time I should go with you.
Heldren, huh? Aurin asked but never paused to hear a reply. Papa will just have to care for the chickens without me.
Sorry, the backstory is longer than expected. It just kind of snowballed a bit.
As for why she is in Heldren, she is a healer of some skill (taking healing hex) and had gone to Heldren to help a wounded child who feel victime to the cold. From there she will likely help more if asked.
Aurin is a human witch with the winter witch archetype and will be advancing to the winter witch prestige class. She will be focusing on hexes that support the group in some ways (healing hex, maybe fortune) but her spells will likely focus on offense, with cold spells being common. Will likely mix in some force spells if I can so cold resistence doesn't make her useless.
I appreciate you running this one. I've always wanted to play it. And I enjoy the Auto Bonus system, so thumbs up there. I do have two questions though. Do you feel that Crafting feats would be useful? And do you feel there will be chances to use them in this AP?

Sarabian |

A character concept: briefly explain who they are and what they bring to the party.
Teldrene is one of those young ladies who's just in love with love, and doesn't really quite get why everyone can't be the same way. She provides support in terms of buffs and healing, as well as some bardic performance capabilities from her archetype; she also will do well with social interactions, though she is an overly honest (and not terribly bright) soul.
Backstory: A brief overview of your character's history, showing what motivates them.
Teldrene's father was a paladin of Shelyn who went to the River Kingdoms to assist in the founding of a cathedral to Shelyn. He returned to Taldor with some minor riches gained while adventuring, and a half-elven daughter. He claimed her mother was a forlorn elf who was happy to spend a few years at the side of a lovely human, but said she was not fit to raise a child who would die before her. He focused on the time he'd had with her mother, and the time he had with his daughter, teaching the foundations of appreciating and loving that which was good and beautiful in the world. When she felt ready, she took up her father's glaive and sought formal training with the church of Shelyn, ready to help teach others to see the world the way she sees it.
Why Heldren: Why is your character in the small town of Heldren in southern Taldor?
Teldrene is hoping to play matchmaker and facilitate some marriages across the border to help foster international peace & improve relations between Taldor and Qadira.
A little crunch: This should at minimum be a race/class/archetype combo. I don't need full crunch at this time, but if that's your thing go wild.
I live in the wild, baybee. Teldrene is a half-elf cleric (evangelist) of Shelyn

Haytham Beckett |

A character concept: briefly explain who they are and what they bring to the party.
A young man with no notable lineage who wishes to become a hero of great renown one day. Haytham serves as a frontline fighter, generally becoming meatshield to his much squishier companions while in combat. While it may be difficult for him to have larger roles outside of combat, he can serve as a foil to the more impressionable members of his party.
Backstory: A brief overview of your character's history, showing what motivates them.
Growing up in a small town, Haytham always dreamed of becoming a hero, like the ones sung in ballads by the passing bards. Taking odd jobs in town and combat lessons from the townsguards, he eventually gathered enough resource for him to start adventuring. Leaving behind his hometown, he swore that he would return home as a hero of great renown one day. Of course, not everything was just as he envisioned, but he never faltered in his quest.
Why Heldren: Why is your character in the small town of Heldren in southern Taldor?
Becoming an adventurer is a lot harder than Haytham thought. After several mishaps and shenanigans that ended with him being chased out by angry townspeople, he decided that he should try becoming a sellsword or caravan guard where the risk of offending the wrong people is pretty low. Not the prestigious job for an aspiring hero, but it's a start, at least. Currently at Heldren looking for any job that allows him to use his sword so that he won't starve. At the very least, there is little to no chance for him to be chased out by angry townspeople this time around.
A little crunch: This should at minimum be a race/class/archetype combo. I don't need full crunch at this time, but if that's your thing go wild.
Will start crunching soon. A little generic, but there's nothing wrong with that. Haytham is a male human (Taldan) fighter.

Orik Reznov |

Here's my submission for the campaign.
A character concept: briefly explain who they are and what they bring to the party.
Orik is the son of Irriseni escapees, that seeks to bring justice to the Winter Witches that oppressed his family, as well as any other practitioners of arcane magic that use their abilities to oppress the weak or disrupt the natural order. He's a bit gruff, but is a dependable ally to anyone that has his back. Orik brings his abilities as a frontliner and caster, as well as his knowledges, ability to identify magic, and discern the intent of others.
Backstory: A brief overview of your character's history, showing what motivates them.
His entire backstory can be seen on his character page, but the short version of it is that when he was very young, his family attempted to escape their oppressive situation in Irrisen, but his father and some of the other men in his family were killed by the border guardians as they fought to make sure Orik and his mother escaped to Varisia.
As he got older and learned about what happened, he couldn't let it go and when he turned 18, he left home and met a Witch-Hunter Inquisitor that he eventually convinced to take him on as an apprentice and spent the next six years traveling across Avistan with him and learning on the job, so that he could one day bring justice to the Winter Witches and people like them that use magic to hurt others.
Why Heldren: Why is your character in the small town of Heldren in southern Taldor?
Orik is in Heldren because he heard that parts of Taldor have been experiencing unseasonal winter and came to investigate, naturally believing that such an occurrence is the result of some arcane practitioners being up to no good and meddling with things that they shouldn't.
A little crunch: This should at minimum be a race/class/archetype combo. I don't need full crunch at this time, but if that's your thing go wild. The full crunch is on his character sheet, but Orik is a Human Inquisitor, with the Witch-Hunter archetype, something I thought was perfect for him flavor-wise and should be very useful for this campaign.

hustonj |
Working with two concepts at the moment, I need to pick one and then provide your submission write-up.
Either
a pyromanic gnome tattooed sorcerer with either elemental fire or gold dragon bloodline (depends on the personality I build, honestly)
or
an Irriseni shifter (less mechanically specific at this point, obviously)
I have an old Ranger build I originally created for RoW, but that was back before Nethys was the Paizo online resource, and I used a regional archetype that had ZERO relation to his Irriseni background. I am very aware of that, and know I need to not use that build. I think I can modify his background, slightly, for the shifter build . . ..
The gnome would have to be a Southern boy who grew up in a Varisian caravan, obviously.
Things will be a little busy in my household until this weekend, sadly. My wife's got surgery to reduce a bulging disk on Thursday morning. I'm booked pretty solid through Thursday evening after she passes back out, as a result. Friday on will depend on how hard the surgery recover hits her.

Uh, I've decided that this part is outdated. I'll be revising my character after this, so this one is no longer valid.

Haytham Beckett |

It turns out I just need to do a slight revision. Here's the updated version of Arjuna332's character, Haytham Beckett.
A character concept: briefly explain who they are and what they bring to the party.
A half-Taldan, half-Ulfen young man with no notable lineage who wishes to become a hero of great renown one day. Haytham serves as a frontline fighter, generally becoming meatshield to his much squishier companions while in combat. While it may be difficult for him to have larger roles outside of combat, he can serve as a foil to the more impressionable members of his party.

Will start crunching soon. A little generic, but there's nothing wrong with that. Haytham is a male human fighter.

Linge Hagebak |

Awesome! Here's my application :)
A character concept: briefly explain who they are and what they bring to the party.
At nineteen years old, and despite her best efforts to fit in, Linge is a shy, easily flustered young woman, who is more at ease and confident with the animals she takes care of. As the former apprentice of a herbalist, she is a skilled healer and a knowledgeable spellcaster, as well as one hell of a guide in the wilderness. Just don't expect her to be leading the group in melee.
She'd rather leave that to Horn.
The woods can be dangerous for a lone woman, after all, and the rescue bear cub was fully trained to act as a personal bodyguard in case things go awry.
Effectively, it's a tank/buffer combo.
Backstory: A brief overview of your character's history, showing what motivates them.
For most of her life, Linge's been haunted by her mother's well-kept secrets.
Why did she always keep her family on the move, never allowing them to stay in one place, at the cost of leaving her husband behind?
Why did she lie and say she came from the Land of the Linnorm Kings, when her accent sounded so different from Linge's father's when she spoke Skald?
Where had she learned the rudiments of medicinal herbs, and even a few minor spells?
And why did people look at her so ill?
Always an elusive figure, Ranna took her secrets with her in the grave. All Linge's left with is questions, and memories of strange stories that her mother used to tell her when she was still a little girl. Dark and twisted fairy tales of a land of ice and living dolls, of gruesome murders and strange disappearances in the middle of night.
When an unnatural winter strikes Heldren, Linge's more than happy to help out however she can. Unbeknownst to her, it might also be her first clue to solve the enigma of her mother's origins.
A more detailed backstory is available on Linge's profile.
Why Heldren: Why is your character in the small town of Heldren in southern Taldor?
That's where Linge's mother chose to settle with her daughter when the latter was still a teenager. A remote and warm place, as far away from Irrisen as possible, was exactly what her mother was looking for to ensure both of their protection.
A little crunch: This should at minimum be a race/class/archetype combo. I don't need full crunch at this time, but if that's your thing go wild.
Just updated to crunch to lvl 1.

I will follow my colleagues and pull some of the answers from her profile directly to the GM's questions :)
A character concept: briefly explain who they are and what they bring to the party.
Mughana is a shapeshifter and mostly a sort of melee combatant (and sometimes a switch hitter). She brings skills connected to survival, tracking and living in the wild, besides an assortment of defenses that make her bulkier than the average damage dealer. Her progression as a shapeshifter will give her a lot of versatility through the different available fey forms. Out of combat, her druidic-like skills will likely be useful to the party, especially as traveling through harsh environments.
Backstory: A brief overview of your character's history, showing what motivates them.
Mughana Mountainrise is a desert dwarf, married to an ex-adventurer and mother of four kids. She lives in Zimar with her husband, nowadays a shopkeeper, and sometimes travels the lands east following the Jalrune River towards the Inner Sea, stopping by the towns in the path - such as Heldren. She's a little over a century old, but not yet a middle-aged Dwarf, and despite being a fiercely caring mother, she loves the chances for small adventures here and there, as much as she loves hearing her husband tales of his past.
Having being kidnapped as a child by fey and sharing her husband's hatred towards witches and evil arcane spellcasters, Mughana herself isn't trained martially like him, a ranger, neither possesses natural or divine powers. What she has is a blood that had been experienced with, manifesting in strange druidic shapeshifting abilities that she didn't have a lot of chance to use or train. Different than most shifters, however, her skills are connected to the First World and its denizens.
(full background in the profile)
Why Heldren: Why is your character in the small town of Heldren in southern Taldor?
She's used to take the roads from Zimar towards the Inner Sea, usually preferring to follow the Jalrune River, and therefore she ends up staying with her caravan in the towns of the path, such as Heldren. She has been doing it for decades and likely she's known by the local innkeeper.
A little crunch: This should at minimum be a race/class/archetype combo. I don't need full crunch at this time, but if that's your thing go wild.
Crunch and other details in the profile! She is a Dwarf Shifter with the Feyform Shifter archetype. I might still do an update or two until the deadline, and of course anything by request of Delmoth.

Dorian 'Grey' |

Hi GM, here's Lapyd with my submission for the game - Mughana Mountainrise! She's a Dwarf Shifter. The crunch is there as well, but I'm working some last details on it as I focused on the concept and background first (and will check your custom/house rules).
Thanks again for running it!
@Barnaby: Loved the pet ant thing!
Thank you! I am fond of him. Besides, my characters always need a smart side kick...lol.

Javell DeLeon |

I'm gonna throw this guy out there: Droguk: Unchained Barbarian(Invulnerable Rager).
He was in a Winter game several years back. And if I recall correctly I believe we made it to the end of Book 1 but it's been a minute since that time.
Questions should all be answered in his Background.

Remnar |

Nevermind, I have just enough wifi to get my laptop outside.
A character concept: briefly explain who they are and what they bring to the party.
Pistolero Gunslinger who will branch into Eldritch Archer Magus at 6 or so. I want to be spell striking bullets from a pepperbox pistol ASAP.
Although I guess of all APs, Trench Fighter fighter might actually be allowed to get into Magus by 5 and still get Dex to damage.
I plan to have a little extra charisma and be able to bluff at least decently, as well as int for knowledge checks. But his main role will be ranged striker.
Backstory: A brief overview of your character's history, showing what motivates them. My plan is a Cheliaxian street thief/con man impressed into the navy (after a screwed up heist) and sent to The Shackles as a spy. He managed to work his way to apprentice for a gunsmith in Port Peril (because it turns out he hates ships and sailing) but eventually got discovered by the pirates. On the run and disavowed by Cheliax, he ran to Taldor. Motivations right now are not being hunted, followed by making money.
Why Heldren: Why is your character in the small town of Heldren in southern Taldor? He's just looking for a place where he's not currently wanted where he can get back to gambling and running con schemes on dumb folks with too much coin, though he's not above some robbing or mercenary work if it pays.
A little crunch: This should at minimum be a race/class/archetype combo. I don't need full crunch at this time, but if that's your thing go wild.
Human gunslinger (pistolero). As I said, going to go into Eldritch Archer as soon as I can as well.
Edit: Backup character if DM thinks guns and gunslingers should be avoided would be a Kineticist, still ranged striker and I'd have to change the backstory a little.

Do you feel that Crafting feats would be useful? And do you feel there will be chances to use them in this AP?
Honestly I think crafting feats are always worthwhile, even in games with little downtime. This is especially true of scribe scroll, and to a lesser extent craft wand, potion, and wondrous. This AP strikes me as one with a lot of travel time so would allow for more crafting than less.
How do you feel about firearms? I played a Gun Chemist Alchemist in a RoW game on the forums previously that fizzled somewhere in book one. Maybe level 3-4, I don’t recall exactly. Might reprise that character if I can.
I’m not a fan of guns in pathfinder. I won’t say I wouldn’t accept a gunslinger but you definitely have a steeper slope to climb if you submit one. The AP does eventually support gunslingers according to reports.
@hustonj You have some time to work things out, don’t stress about it too much. The earliest I would close recruitment is 7/4 so you have until at least then.

My submission for the game.
Tuong Kinh
A character concept: briefly explain who they are and what they bring to the party.
An initiate monk of the Order of the Stalwart Fist, Tuong Kinh is a talented martial artist, though he usually prefers diplomacy and introspection to lethal combat when possible. Admittedly, as a true student of the Seven Forms, the young monk does enjoy friendly hand-to-hand competition when the opportunity presents itself. Excited to be out and on his own after spending the last ten years of his life secluded at the Monastery, he is also very aware of his responsibility to live up to the high standards of his Order. As such, Tuong will strive through the use of truth, logic and discipline to act as a protector and advisor to his companions and those in need.
Backstory: A brief overview of your character's history, showing what motivates them.
Tuong Kinh is the son of a Tian scribe and a Qadiran herbalist from the Monastery of Seven Forms, a locale that over the years was subjected to both Tian and Qadiran rule, and in the eventual ceasing of hostilities, there developed an eventual interweaving of people and cultures. One of the Masters of the Order took note of Tuong’s natural abilities from a young age, and encouraged the boy’s parents to offer their son up for assessment and training in the Monastery of Seven Forms. Honored, the couple obliged, and have followed their son’s progress, albeit from a distance, ever since.
Why Heldren: Why is your character in the small town of Heldren in southern Taldor?
Quite simply, as his last official responsibility as an apprentice to the Monastery, and his first duty as a true brother of the Stalwart Fist, Tuong was tasked with delivering a wax-sealed scroll (containing a message to someone in Heldren, from one of the Masters of the temple. Message and contents to be decided by the DM.) As such, the young monk has traveled south from the Monastery of Seven Forms, a city built around a Tian monastery in the World’s Edge Mountains, At times on his own, and at others traveling with a merchant’s caravan, Tuong Kinh has only recently arrived in town.
A little crunch: This should at minimum be a race/class/archetype combo. I don't need full crunch at this time, but if that's your thing go wild.
Tuong Kinh, human monk of the Stalwart Fist.
At this time, I don’t intend to have him take any archetype, but rather, simply grow as a base/standard monk. I am, however, open to discussion on this. :)
(Note: Info for background found HERE, and subject to DM approval, obviously.)

Thank you DM! I appreciate the feedback. I should have the crunchy bits worked out for Aurinkuu sometime tomorrow or Thursday. Luckily she was mostly done.

Hi, this is Gavinia; Oread Warpriest of Alseta, goddess of transitions; doorways, portals, the flow of time. I made her for a RoW campaign a few years ago that petered out kind of quickly, so I'd like to submit her for this game.
A character concept: briefly explain who they are and what they bring to the party.
As a warpriest, she can provide some divine magic, and some front-line fighting. Her community blessing can increase aid another bonus to +4; and she'll be heading towards Bodyguard feat, which will work well with that.
She is stolid and dependable, and is interested in she and her allies working well together.
Backstory: A brief overview of your character's history, showing what motivates them.
Born in Maheto, under the World's Edge Mountains, her earthen appearance (moreso than even other oreads) set her apart from others. After a somewhat secluded childhood, she found solace in the city guard, where she could serve her city and she feel accepted. It was here that she first met followers of Alseta, and their leader, sensing potential in Gavinia took her into the fold. Although she would have been content to remain in Maheto all her life, a trip to a nearby village turned into another trip to a settlement further away, and before she knew it she was an itinerant priest.
She is committed to her goddess's areas of concern and is worried by the strange weather - that the seasons are happening out of order is unnatural and she will want to investigate that.
Why Heldren: Why is your character in the small town of Heldren in southern Taldor?
As a travelling priest, she heads between small towns, performing priestly services where she is needed (repairing and blessing doorways & gates, giving healing and aid to town guards), and taking paid work as a guard/bouncer/mediator when she needs to earn money.
A little crunch:
LN Oread Warpriest of Alseta. Gotta go through and check that the stats and skills & equipment match up with the build rules, but there shouldn't be any major changes.

Are kineticists okay? I've never played one, and I got an idea for a half Qadiran / half Taldoran who is stuck between two hostile cultures yet is a child of both.
I'm unsure whether I want to go air or fire, as both are fitting, but I'd hate to go with a fire-heavy build if it turns out to be 'optimal'. I'm lactose intolerant IRL and quite adverse to PF cheese ;)

Solicitor: I can't recommend kineticists enough! Air and Water make you an absolute beast, though obviously you probably wouldn't want to go with a Cold blast. I recently finished a campaign that went from 1-16 with one, so I'd be happy to help out with any questions or issues you might have with the class.

Delmoth, question: Can I take a drawback for a third trait? An actual drawback, of course, not one that's like "-1 to Linguistics checks on cloudy days."
While I like the idea in principle, in practice it doesn't work out that well for Pathfinder. I'm going to tentatively say yes but will reserve the right to veto any particular combination. Once we've started I will make the determination if a drawback is acceptable because I don't want to did into everyone's stat blocks at this point.

Kineticists are fine. Fire attacks will be super effective.

Dotting! I've got a basic concept put together and I'll work to flesh out the details.
A character concept: briefly explain who they are and what they bring to the party.
The character will a wide-eyed kid looking for adventure and discovery and maybe occasionally fighting those weird teenage urges like forming a coven or cooking and eating the rest of the party.
She'll be a melee-focused Occultist, starting with a relatively small toolbox which grows significantly larger over time, which may eventually expand to bringing in expendable mooks and such.
Backstory: A brief overview of your character's history, showing what motivates them.
Hekla doesn't have much of a story so far. She grew up in a comfortable estate just outside of Oppara, daughter of one of Stavian's retired Ulfen Guard. What she doesn't know is that her father had originally retired back to the Land of the Linnorm Kings, where he barely survived an amorous encounter with what he found out soon afterward was a Winter Hag. When he heard that a child appeared 9 months later on a doorstep in a neighboring town in the middle of a blizzard, he claimed her and made his way back to Taldor to shield his daughter from her mother's influence. She has spent her years loved, going to good schools, studying history and magic, and generally being doted upon by her father.
Why Heldren: Why is your character in the small town of Heldren in southern Taldor?
Over the past few months she's been overcome by wanderlust. She has taken up her father's axe and struck out for adventure, seeking glory in Qadira. Heldren is a great stopover point as she continues her journey.
A little crunch:
Hekla Nornsdottir is a snow may changeling and an Occultist (haunt collector).

Now you make us PCs feel like a rare brand of Pokemons
PYRO PYRO uses FIREBALL! It's super effective!

Dot.
@gm are you familiar with path of war? I’ve been thinking about trying a warder fluffed as a descendant of a taldan knight who only knew that their grandfather was a courtly knight. If not, it’s no big deal I can make her a Paladin, but it’s hard to be an int paladin focused on history.
Sorry but no. I like their mission statement at the very least. I've got enough on my plate right now, I don’t have the bandwidth to assess an alternative rule set.
