GM DocHoliday45 |
Vomer you are unfortunately too distracted from the repeated hits and bee stings.
Felix and Jang you can tell Tezenkil is a broken man. He saw this a losing battle the moment you guys entered the realm. He carried out the will of the Queen out of fear of her cruelty. He definitely has noticed the damage he has done to his former friends of the town. With a diplomacy check and correct words spoken, he may surrender. You may chose to just kill him for his crimes against land and releasing the threat on the realm.
Vomer Nosebone |
I suggest we don't kill him. We need to aquire whatever information he may have to assist us further. We understand your fear Tenzil. You can make amends to your friends, and to us, by helping to end this queen's evil sway and her cruelty. Tell us all you can about this queen and anything you know that may help us. Please. Tezenkil, there's still time to stop. You may think you've come to far, but you haven't. Stop now. Surrender. Help us stop this. When we end the queen there will be no more threat to you.

Tenzekil drops to his knees and drops his staff. He begins to cry. “I’m sorry. I lost the competition and fell into a deep depression. It turned me into a Bleaching and drove me into madness. There was no cure so I wandered through the woods raving as my condition worsened. The Queen sent me messages through the mists and offered me a cure to free her. I removed the ward stones. Put them back over there. I have brought so much pain. You will have to kill her to keep her from doing this to another poor soul. Her palace is just beyond that ridge.” As tears fall from the gnome face.
Jangafzaar Kargar |
sense motive : 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (17) + 13 = 30
Jang feels the pain. He puts a hand on the gnome’s shoulder and tells Magas to let him go.
“I absolutely understand what it means to love and to not receive anything back! I can also understand the pain that you feel because of the joy of life bleaching away! But your actions have endangered the whole community, and you have to make amends! Please tell us everything that you know about her defenses, because we need everything in our power to really defeat the queen!“ he says with a sad expression.

Brie Magnum |
Brie sets her blades down at ease though she still keeps them in her hands.
Who knows what else might turn up.
Good thing that Tenzeki seemed to have come back to his sensees.
Vomer Nosebone |
Typically DUG the player would loot this gnome of EVERYTHING he owns and leave him bound, naked and afraid....simply out of principle, but in this case it does no good .... so
Vomer will use detect magic and start rummaging through the gnomes belongings.
Well my gnome "friend", as you can see some of us are quite injured so... you can start by healing us of our wounds. Secondly, do you have anything in your possession that may help us defeat this evil queen, without any of us dying?
Vomer is down 44 hit points. If the gnome has no way of healing us. Vomer will use a couple of charges off his infernal healing wand and then hand Jang or Felix his wand of CLW and ask, kindly, if they would use it a few times to heal him. He also offers charges from his wands, either the infernal or the CLW, to anyone else if they need it. Even the gnome IF he decides to help us and is not lying.
Felix C. Jaeger |
Felix will use wands as appropriate to heal everyone up.
I know the ascetic lifestyle so many of my fellows follow is anathema to gnomish needs, but there is one lesson to keep in mind. The path we follow is one of improvement. You will stumble. You will have set backs. The important thing is to do and be better the next time. If you don't have the best honey you find ways to improve your own honey not ways to destroy the better honey. None of us are gods. None of us are perfect. All we can do is follow in the footsteps of The Master and always take the next step.
If you have and aid you can offer now is the time. Then take shelter while we confront the queen.
Brie Magnum |
I'll use one charge of Infernal Healing. And wait 4 rounds in fatigue.
Brie seeing that the danger as being adverted for now, treats herself and watches as her companions pump the gnome for information.
"What else can you tell us? It'll be due to your efforts as well if we can stop her. It'll be an interesting thing to your life no?"
Vomer Nosebone |
A palace you say? Have you seen this palace? Have you been inside? What horrors lurk within? Any secret ways in? Come on Tenzil, please, look how weak my arms are - - aargh. Vomer flexes his pencil thin arms as hard as he can - no muscles, I say NO muscles appear, at all - - it's quite pitiful actually. We need all the help we can get.
GM DocHoliday45 |
Vomer and Jang can easily tell he is being honest as to what he is saying.
Tenzekil wipes his tears away. “I’m sorry. I don’t have ability to heal, but my bag has healing.”
Vomer rummages through his bag and find 8 goodberries, pearl of power (1st), potion of cure
moderate wounds, scrolls of antiplant shell and neutralize poison. He has on his person a +1 leather armor, +1 light wooden shield, masterwork club, sling and 20 bullets, handy haversack, granite and diamond dust worth 250 gp, 162 gp.
After he finishes crying, Tenzekil explains what he knows. “I was not allowed in her palace. She explained a pathetic worm who fails in his task does not deserve to walk the halls. However, one of the pixies you had killed mentions a secret entrance. Quarter of a mile away from the palace is small ledge of stone that follows an underground stream, emerging into a subterranean cavern network. That stream leads directly under her palace.”
Vomer Nosebone |
Vomer is hungry so he will eat a goodberry. Antiplant shell is a druid/hunter 4 spell so.... not sure who could use it (Vomer is +14 on UMD). I imagine one of our clerics should take the neutralize poison and the diamond dust. I could use the pearl of power as it would be good for maybe a magic missile. A frontliner maybe take the CMW potion? Not sure on the other stuff. Thoughts?
Jangafzaar Kargar |
Jang spontaneously casts cure light wounds and get the spell back via the Tenzekil’s pearl of power.
He uses his wand to heal himself.

Brie Magnum |
Jang should have used the Potion of CMW, saving your wands.
"A worm can rise up to transform into a butterfly. Your help to us is but a start." Brie waits for her companions
Vomer Nosebone |
Right the stones. Thank-you my friend, I almost forgot Vomer will head to the hill where the stones need to be placed and attempt to place the stones in their appropiate places. Then, off to the palace to kill the fellnight queen!
GM DocHoliday45 |
Vomer places the stone in the ring as the group watches a dull light form over them. You see the outer edges of the realm develop a thick fog. The Queen has been bound back to the realm. Now the group moves to the secret entrance. You move though the surrounding forest and see the palace. The forest sounds fade as the undergrowth parts, revealing a massive, thorn-wrapped palace rooted upon the valley floor. Intimidating spikes cover its walls, projecting outward with deadly intent. Three separate towers rise from the tangle, reaching toward a dark canopy of trees as tall as any mountain. You move away from the palace and follow the stream leading beneath the massive structure. As you follow the stream, you see a large pool that fills half the cavern, fed by an underground stream emerging from the northern wall. The cavern seems to continue into another chamber. What do you do?
Vomer Nosebone |
two questions for our GM and two questions for our group. GM1)Vomer took an antiplague and antitoxin just b4 teleporting here - - they each last an hour. How long has it been since we teleported? GM2)Does it appear dark in the chamber? PC1) Does the group think we need to rest overnight to get spell slots etc.? Vomer has not used a lot of spells yet so I am good to go. PC2) I have a scroll with 5 castings of Darkvision. Do we want to be sneaky etc and use darkvision or are we wanting light sources?
Naevys Driltormidan |
I've used up a few big damage spells, but guns still work and am fine on health, bullets, etc. Got one more Snowball from my second Pearl, then I'm down to Cantrips. I have Darkvision already (Tiefling), so no need to use the scroll on me.
Brie Magnum |
Back. I'm good on everything else. Darkvision is not a problem for me. I'm ready to spend all my buffs and rage on this.
Jangafzaar Kargar |
Jang moves in and starts looking at the surroundings.
“Let me lead. I’m not stealthy but I can see well!“ he says and his buzzing giant mosquito companion follows.

Vomer will tuck his wand of infernal back into his spring-loaded wrist sheath - - then cast mage armor and heightened awareness from wands - - then cast DV from scroll. He will have one hand free and in the other his lesser metamagic wand of reach (has two uses left). FYI, he has one use of 4-leafed clover left. Lead on my dwarven friend. He will go at the back of the party, cause he is squishy. perception: 1d20 + 13 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 13 + 2 = 35

Brie refreshes her buffs with Mage Armor and Shield. She keeps her swarmbane clasp on her just in case they run into more swarms.

The group make their way into the next cavern. This cavern widens into a chamber of cultivated soil upon which a garden of mushrooms and other fungi grows. To the east and south, recessed ledges overlook the room. Alcoves to the south and southwest end in double doors. Vomer and Jang you clearly notice a rock formation is out of place from the rest of the room. As the group enter the chambers, you hear the equivalent to a small child shriek. The rock formation transforms into a hulk monster made of pure rock and stone that carries a grin carved on it “face”. Thanks to Vomer and Jang it does not get a surprise swipe on the group. Felix your sermon inspires the group into battle with this rock monster.
Brie you slash out at the creature as your blade doesn’t find purchase.
Vomer you know this is not a golem but an earth elemental. Specific a large earth elemental. These guys can hit and hit hard. They burrow beneath the ground and gain benefits if you are fighting on solid ground.
Vomer Nosebone |
So does that mean I didn't roll high enough to get any questions?..... just hoping :) Regardless, Vomer will tell the group what he knows, then use a swift action to pop a scroll of fly out of his spring loaded scroll case, use a standard action to cast it on himself and then fly up out of reach of the creature (not sure how high the roof is?) but still trying to stay within 45' of the creature

Sorry, I've been a bit lax with posting here. This is my only PbP game going atm, so I've not been checking as regularly as I used to. I can't really see a grid on this map, but assuming I can get within 30 feet of the elemental, let me know if I need to move to get there or not.
Naevys quickly reviews what she knows about earth elementals, but can't remember if they have any energy resistances.
