Mary usually does Avoid Notice +10 because Rogue.
Busy day today. I'll post later.

Albrecht has Trap Finder and That's Odd but I have no issues swapping over from investigate to search.

I’m a little unclear on what’s happening here. A wild pig attacked Mylos in a panic, then ran toward another wild pig from the other side of the area? What are they doing now?
I read it as a small boar charges out of the brush in the direction of a second larger boar (mom?). Mylos is unfortunately in its way, so he gets gored as the boar charges through. On their next turn I expect both boars will attack us. Mary went after the larger boar because it not having acted yet in this encounter means she gets to use her Surprise Attack ability.
Boars are generally quite dangerous creatures that are difficult to reason with when pissed off, especially since none of us have the skills needed to make the attempt. Your Wilding Word cantrip might slow them down a little though.

Albrecht grins at the magus. "Let me know ahead of time if you plan to repeat last night's rather impressive consumption of inebriants and I can prepare an elixir that might be helpful."
Speaking of preparations I forgot to say this ahead of time. Albrecht's standard daily infused reagents and advanced alchemy preparations include 2 minor elixirs of life and 2 lesser bottled lightnings. I'll make a specific post if I decide to change it up on a different day.

@Bonnie, happy with the focus point return, RP when you feel like it and it feels right, but otherwise fine you get it back in 10.
OK, you have 3 healers, Albrecht being the most likely to succeed, so he's a 65% success rate ... whilst other can help, so lets go for ... 10HPs per hour per person ... nice round figure ....
Or 20HPs if you go for 1 hour from one healer, so a max of 3 characters can benefit from that, although the healer will also be bound to the action for an hour. However given the rolling that would happen, if you do this for three characters, Flory will have to roll.
That way we don't need to worry about rolling unless, there's a threat around in the next hour....
Unless you want to use heal spells and potions in which case you will have to roll and use the resource.

Albrecht should be able to do much better than 20 per hour. His +8 medicine means a 70% success rate and he also has Continual Recovery so there is no downtime if he has to heal one person more than once. If you do the math he should average 37.8 hp healed per hour.

Didn't mean to step on any medical toes there. I was just trying to get the healing out of the way. I'm quite happy to leave all that to Albrecht in future.
No worries. I was just trying to reconcile what Albrecht would do without nullifying the posts that you have already made. While we're on the subject of healing I should point out that as a forensics methodology investigator Albrecht can use battle medicine on people once per hour instead of the usual once per day.

Forensic Medicine Investigators are great.
I have one who picked up Medic Dedication and Assurance:Medicine at 2nd and he's a healing machine. Doesn't even need to roll for the basic DC 15 Battle Medicine/Treat Wounds. In addition to being able to do BM 1/hour with +level extra hp of healing, he can also, once per day, do BM on a person again immediately. He's a nimble elf with 35ft of speed. He runs around the battlefield healing people faster than the bad guys can damage them. Once he gets to Master in Medicine and picks up Doctor's Visitation, Ward Medic and Continual Recover he becomes even better. I'll have to see if I can slip Risky Surgery in there somewhere. The build is so good it's almost broken.

Well, I’m not planning on going anywhere. This is a good group and I’m in no hurry. Take care of real life first and we’ll keep playing whenever you find time to post.

Apologies folks, I'll try to update tonight but I'm in A&E with a possible snapped tendon in my hand done whilst playing cricket this afternoon.
Owch! Hope you feel better

I too keep an eye on things and will assume we’re still on until the GM officially says otherwise. We’re playing in AP mode so it’s not like I’m tying up a PC or anything.

Happy Cinco de Mayo to everyone. I wish they had a decent Mexican restaurant here in Florence, but no such luck. I guess I’ll have to wait until I get back to California to find a taco worthy of the name. In the meantime I’ll be filling that hole in my diet with gelato and pizza, so things could be worse.

I don't know. Deevor does have a fairly busy RL schedule, and him not posting for a week isn't unusual. It's now been 3, though, which is unusual.
It's not like my character is locked or anything, so there's no downside to waiting; but we'll need to figure out something at some point. (He's a PC in another game I'm running.)

I was in two games with PCs of his for Outpost V, and he basically disappeared from both about a month ago (his last posts in both adventures were on April 12th). I suspect that we won't be hearing from him soon, but like Bonnie, It's no skin off my nose. I'm flagged whenever there are any new posts, so if it picks up again, I'll be here.

So, it's been 6-ish weeks, which definitely qualifies as "time to talk."
Poll:
[ ] I would like to call this game abandoned and move on. This would allow us individually to pursue replaying the game however we want.
[ ] I would like to keep waiting.
... [ ] for a set time frame (to be discussed)
... [ ] indefinitely.
[ ] I would like to try to find a replacement GM. This is a tough one, since we've played so little (it'd be easier if we were like halfway through).
... [ ] I would consider GMing (no commitments yet).
... [ ] I can reach out privately to people who might be interested / owe me a favor.
... [ ] I'd be willing to chip in to buy the GM the scenario if that's a barrier for the GM.
... [ ] I'd be willing to exchange favors with a GM who took over.

I'll start by not answering my own poll. Cue the lol. :)
So the backstory to this game is that this was part of a GM exchange for me; I was/am GMing Deevor in a run of Malevolence, and he was GMing me in a run of Troubles.
I'm holding his spot in Malevolence in case he returns (but have moved on with 5 PCs in the meantime) so I've got more reason than the rest of you to wait this out.
Usually, I'm pretty willing to chip in to buy the scenario and/or exchange GMing, but I'm less inclined to do that in this scenario. I'm also limiting myself to GMing one Adventure concurrently, because it's a lot of work.
I would prefer to find a replacement GM over walking away, even if it's just a public post. However, I'd prefer private recruitment - I can reach out to some people privately to see if they'd be willing to pick it up. This seems like a really great group of characters, and I'd love to see this specific group play it out.
With all that being said, I'm officially abstaining from my own poll - I'm happy to go along with whatever the rest of you decide.
Flory Buntzer |
Thanks for opening the conversation, WS. Have you spoken to Deevor? Do we know why he vanished?
I’m playing in other games concurrently, so this isn’t holding me back. Having said that, if a replacement can be found, that would be great.
Marysiel |
Yeah, at this point I've pretty much given up on this adventure going any further with GM Deevor. It might just be best to call it a day and let him off the hook. Having said that, if the rest of you are willing to wait some more, that's fine with me too.
If we can get another GM that is committed to seeing this through to the end, then I'm quite happy to continue playing. My Paizocon games are all wrapped up and I'm now down to playing in just one AP (Abomination Vaults) which is beginning to show worrying signs of running out of steam. Unfortunately, I cannot help in this search as I don't know any GMs well enough to ask them for such a favor.
The last time I GMed was over 40 years ago and I don't feel up to it right now; I really just prefer playing. Having said that, there are distinct advantages to being an old fart with plenty of money, namely that I don't have to worry about how much it costs to buy an adventure. As I've said before in other forums... I am happy to reimburse the price of any adventure if someone else will PbP GM my PC through it (preferably on a Paizo forum). That goes for full-bore multi-book Adventure Paths all the way down to Bounties.
It too feel that this is a good group of players/PCs and that it would be a pity to just go our own ways. If we can't find a GM to finish Troubles in Otari for us, then maybe we can get some GM to run us through a different Adventure (or AP even) even if it means using different PCs.
Given how much effort I put into each of my posts, I can comfortably play 2-3 games at once. During cons, I sometimes play in as many as 5 games at once, but that's pushing it for me if I want to keep the quality and quantity of my posts up to par. As such, my current ½-1 game load is starting to send me into withdrawals.
Hold on. I just noticed that Tyranius has opened up recruitment for Perennial Crown Parts 1 and 2 run consecutively (Scenarios #1-16 & #1-17 for levels 3-6). Looks like my Jayma is back in the game. Still a few spots left, though so far everyone's PCs seem to be Level 6, so it's probably going high-tier.
Albrecht Jaeger |
While I've been meaning to step forward and begin GMing PbP games I feel that an adventure of this scope this might be a little too ambitious for me at this time. I have no other plans to play this adventure any time soon so I'm fine waiting a bit more for Deevor to return although I feel that return to be unlikely. It's not like this is a PFS scenario and therefore is preventing the current character from playing other games.

Hey folks Watery Soup reached out that you need a replacement GM. I was not planning to run APs and if choosing I would probably not pick this one... but it could be a good starting point for APs. And at the same time I don't want to leave you in such a spot.
So, I am your huckleberry.
I need a couple of days to:
- Get this AP, and read through it
- read through the gameplay
- create a new campaign
I know almost all of you (I think I never played with Mr Tea, but I saw him around), and some of you have played at my scenarios but I will write down my expectations when I create the campaign.
If any of the above does not sound cool, or you don't want to play this AP any further please let me know

Just an FYI, I have the AP and I started to read it. I glanced through the gameplay to get a sense of where you are. I must say that I skipped all RP posts :( to have a high-level view of what is happening. I will read it all at least few more times (but some of that can happen as we play).
I created a campaign: link to the Gameplay is here - I went with the new campaign as there I can change the links, close the campaign when we finish, etc. Asking for reassignment of the campaign takes some time.
I may be able to post tomorrow or the day after.

Yes. Ditto. Thanks for taking the reins. I've enjoyed playing in your games in the past and I expect this one to be no different.
