GM Wolf |
It takes a good 20 rounds but the beast finally falls. It's heads lashed out at each of you but Matthew the most. Most of the damage was neglible with your fast healing except for the massive tail slap. Did you try to cut any of the heads off?
The beast falls. A light shines on Matthew and he is gone. From the darkness and cover of fog vampires spring forth. Seven of them drag off Krazok into the fog as two engage each of you.

SPECIAL ABILITIES
Blood Drain (Su)
A vampire spawn can suck blood from a grappled opponent; if the vampire spawn establishes or maintains a pin, it drains blood, dealing 1d4 points of Constitution damage. The vampire spawn heals 5 hit points or gains 5 temporary hit points for 1 hour (up to a maximum number of temporary hit points equal to its full normal hit points) each round it drains blood.
Dominate (Su)
A vampire spawn can crush a humanoid opponent’s will as a standard action. Anyone the vampire spawn targets must succeed on a Will save (DC 14) or fall instantly under the vampire spawn’s influence, as though by a dominate person spell (caster level 12th). The ability has a range of 30 feet. At the GM’s discretion, some vampire spawns might be able to affect different creature types with this power.
Energy Drain (Su)
A creature hit by a vampire spawn’s slam (or other natural weapon) gains one negative level. This ability only triggers once per round, regardless of the number of attacks a vampire spawn makes.
Fast Healing (Su)
A vampire spawn also gains fast healing 2. If reduced to 0 hit points in combat, a vampire spawn assumes gaseous form (see below) and attempts to escape. It must reach its coffin home within 2 hours or be utterly destroyed. (It can normally travel up to 9 miles in 2 hours.) Additional damage dealt to a vampire spawn forced into gaseous form has no effect. Once at rest, the vampire is helpless. It regains 1 hit point after 1 hour, then is no longer helpless and resumes healing at the rate of 2 hit points per round.
Gaseous Form (Su)
As a standard action, a vampire spawn can assume gaseous form at will (caster level 5th), but it can remain gaseous indefinitely and has a fly speed of 20 feet with perfect maneuverability.
2d20 ⇒ (20, 10) = 30+7
The one on the left gets blasted as the other just has a few wounds from the channel, they both hiss in pain. The other vampires are too far away to catch them in the channel.

If Zaidel still has a vampire on him, he'll use another channel energy against it. Then run to find and rescue Krazok.

Zaidel grimaced with anger at the situation. "Okay. Matthew will hopefully be okay on his own for now, since we have no idea where he is. Jean, let's fly back to the Mayor's office and ask if we can watch over Krazok there. Maybe we can ask the Mayor if any disappearances have happened recently. That might lead to Matt."
The satyr picks up the half-dragon in his arms, and carefully loads the vampire victim on Jean's back.

The satyr's hairs on the back of his soft neck started to stand on end in anger, and wanted to swat the blue screen away. But since Zaidel thought the Gods somehow ran the Chosen screens on Arcanium, the cleric swallowed his rage. Instead he reached up to click the Inquiry icon.
"Blue Screen, what is the best treatment to save Krazok's life and limbs?"
Zaidel clicked the icon again. "Second Inquiry. Where is the current location of Matthew Locke?"

The caydenite cleric reads the rest of the screen.
"WHAT!?" "Zeus's Garden?! Trail of the Worthy?! 15th level?!"
"I-I-I can't leave Krazok to die! WHY THE FU<K IS THIS HAPPENING?!!"
Zaidel calmed himself down. "Blue screen, I would like to help my friend , Matthew Locke, with his Trial of the Worthy, IF Krazok can be either be healed or I will GUARANTEE get back in the morning to pray for those restorations spells."

Jean frowns at it and calls up his own blue screen. "That sounds pretty bad. Can you share it?" Jean says if he doesn't see it popping up.
Zaidel |
Non-plussed, Zaidel clicks the 'Share Quest?' option on the screen.
Holy shit! I can't believe this is happening?!!
"Zeus and many of the other Olympic Gods hate Matt", Zaidel recalls. "We're likely gonna be dropped off into a warzone, so be ready.
And I love you, Jean! Just wanted to say that! I love you! You're a good friend! And it's been awesome to know you!"

A purple screen appears for the two of you,

But if you take this trial with him, you shall surely perish. Finish your present quest and restore your ally when you return to town. The rewards may be just what you need."
Zaidel |
Zaidel's eyes widen with sudden discovery. "By the Gods, Jean! I think we finally accessed the AI customer support screen for the Chosen Screens!"
The satyr pressed in the inquiry icon on the purple screen. "What is your name/designation?"
Zaidel |
Zaidel frowned. "Fine. For now."
As the satyr picked up the unconscious half-dragon, Zaidel thought aloud. "I think I shall try and get a room at the tavern for me and Krazok. At first, I thought the rowdy bar below must be disruptive. But I think that might work in my favor, as a cleric to a God of Alcohol and Merriment. Maybe give Krazok a plus to his saving throws under my care."
Jean de Montes |
"That would be good. I can carry Krazok back if he is too weakened to travel." Jean offers as he worries for what Matt is doing.
Zaidel |
Zaidel shook his horned head. "I don't like the look of those blackened limbs. I would like your help transporting him back to Owl Port, Jean. Please?"
Jean de Montes |
Jean will pick up Krazok and wait for Zaidel to mount up before taking to the air. "We may need to go back into that mansion and work on grinding up our levels if we are running into areas that are for level 15 already."
Zaidel |
"Good idea", Zaidel agreed. "Hopefully Matthew will return to us in one piece. But for tonight, I administer for Krazok. Jean, A-WAAAY!"
As they flew, Zaidel commented aloud. "You know, Matthew and Alina where technically gone for well over 100 years, doing that job for Cayden. 100 years is along time to level up. I've always suspected Matthew and Alina are MUCH higher leveled adventurers than we are, And if the Purple Screen can be believed, it said Matthew will make it back to us. Meaning Matthew must be a higher-level than he lets on."
Stratton of Arcanium |
Stratton uses one of his daily uses of fly to fly after the Jean Express.
"I thought Matthew was a high level adventurer before the last time he was smote and buried by the Greek Pantheon too. He's had his ups and downs, I'd say he was on an upswing until this happened. Still, maybe we ought to send a message to Alina so at least she can aid him against those bastards."
Zaidel |
Zaidel carries the unconscious gold half-dragon in his arms as the satyr walks into the inn.
"I need a room with two beds. I have patient in need of care!" Zaidel barks over the din.
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 44 ⇒ (20) + 44 = 64 WHOA!
Zaidel |
'Thank you, Shatash", Zaidel said with relief. "Can you please bring up about 3 bottles of wine, and your largest dinner up here. I'm gonna try to feed our friend, Krazok, here? I have coin."
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 44 ⇒ (4) + 44 = 48
The satyr gives the half-orc a quick kiss on the cheek as she departs.
Jean de Montes |
Jean will turn into his lizard humanoid form to wander into the bar to see if there is a place that is big enough for his full form. "If you can cast the Restoration he should be fine. But can you get spells of that level?" Jean asks.
Zaidel |
Zaidel calls up the Blue Screen, and checks his options.
"No. But I can access lesser restoration tomorrow. But I did pray for remove disease today!"
The satyr turns back to Krazok. "So I'm going to cast that now!"
Zaidel holds his holy symbol of Cayden Cailean. "Come on, Boss! Please help me out here!" And Zaidel casts the spell.
Caster level check: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
Zaidel |
No luck on the spell, will you be tending his wounds to give him a bonus on his saves?
Yes, he will. That was the plan.
Zaidel gives Shatash 8 gold coins for the wine and food. The satyr gives one of the bottles to Jean and Stratton to drink, keeping one for himself. The caydenite cleric uses his healer's kit to bandage all of Krazok's blackened limbs, using poultices to infuses the bandages with medicine. Then Zaidel does his best to feed the half-dragon the dinner he ordered, cutting the meat and vegetables in very small bites for easier consumption. The satyr watches over Krazok until the hour gets late. Using his wine bottle, Zaidel finishes his evening prayers, and sleeps at Krazok's feet in case his patient needs him in the night.
Heal: 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (10) + 21 = 31
Krazok Vell Firesource |
Waiting it out then, anything else you guys going to do until the hour?
Krazok begins to groan as he wakes up from the nights rest, in fact he slept in until noon.
Fort DC 13, with a +4 from Zaidel and a +8, dont roll a 1!: 4d20 ⇒ (3, 7, 1, 20) = 31
He sits up and just looks at the room around him.
Jean de Montes |
Jean will rise the next morning and do his daily quest before returning to the inn and waiting to see how Krazok fares.

Zaidel |
In the early morning hours, Zaidel wakes up and immediately takes anything left over from the wine bottles from last night, and prays for his clerical spells.
The cleric dumps one lesser restoration, one cure disease and one remove curse. Using all his 3rd-level cleric spells, except his Domain spell. Once done, Zaidel prays over the body of the golden half-dragon, while checking the bandages from the day before.
This post is just for RP purposes to get to the previous post. So, YAY!
Krazok Vell Firesource |
He opens up the screen and asks, "What else do we need to hunt? Ask around and find out. I will rest and hopefully I will feel better tomorrow. Though it does look like it is glitching."
Zaidel |
He opens up the screen and asks, "What else do we need to hunt? Ask around and find out. I will rest and hopefully I will feel better tomorrow. Though it does look like it is glitching."
Zaidel sighs. "Later. And you're damn right you are going to rest today! I thought I lost you to vampirism. I am immensely happy you are alright, Krazok Veil."
Zaidel gets up. "I'm gonna go downstairs and arrange for another night up here. Then complete my Daily Quest. And then go visit The Mayor for any reward, unless the other's beat me first."
This is the first time Zaidel came down and actually saw the bar proper. The satyr asks around for the manager.

Stratton of Arcanium |
Stratton gives Zaidel the room he needs to care for Krazok through the night, playing page and maid, fetching whatever is needed and keeping the room cleaned up afterwards. Maybe it wasn't much, but it was something he could do.
After the fewer hours he needed for rest, he got an early start on the dailies.
