That would be a story to tell!
Cool. I can roll with it. :)
Other than actually finishing out Xing's backstory, I should be ready to roll.
Color me stoked.

I'm glad to hear you are stoked! With just a bit of luck, the game will be kicking off sometime tomorrow.
Doh! One more team vote question, I completely forgot...
Do we want to do Hero Points?
The Man. The Myth. The Mask!
I've never played with Hero Points. But we could?
HP: 36/36 | AC: 19 (T: 13, F: 16) | CMB: +3, CMD: 16 | F: +4, R: +7, W: +4 (+7 vs Charm/Compulsion) | Init: +5 | Perc: +7, SM: +4 | Speed 30' | Luck 9/9 | Panache 6/6
Sabelina is coming by ship as well. Maybe Xing is crew on one of Sabelina's dad's ships? He's not a captain or anything and not on board, just the owner. The reason Sabelina's on one is the free passage.
Unless something happened right under her nose, Sabelina would be unlikely to notice. She's to busy thinking about her destination to pay much attention to what happening onboard. Nothing interesting ever happens on short boat trips.

Do we want to use discord (or similar), or sick to this thread for discussion?
Rat Bastard, Cheeky Monkey, Sly Fox, <insert anthropomorphic animal metaphor here>
For the moment, let's stick with this thread for discussion. While I can use Discord on my personal laptop, I can't load it on my work laptop and I'm using both currently for DMing stuff.
Hero Points: no
I'm surprising myself with that answer, but our heroes are going to be pretty freaking amazing already. I don't know that we need more layers of super heroism.

WHUMP <-- my jaw hitting the floor on you making that choice, Eben. That is not what I was expecting you to say.
What can I say? I'm a surprise a minute. :)

Eben is right though. They do seem powerful. Then again, there's that BDH question again. Just how much hero do we want in the beginning?
Male Elf
I'm fine with using them, but in my personal experience they are often forgotten about and hardly ever used.
Rat Bastard, Cheeky Monkey, Sly Fox, <insert anthropomorphic animal metaphor here>
OK, it seems like the consensus opinion is 'meh' so we'll call that a no on Hero Points for the time being.
HP: 36/36 | AC: 19 (T: 13, F: 16) | CMB: +3, CMD: 16 | F: +4, R: +7, W: +4 (+7 vs Charm/Compulsion) | Init: +5 | Perc: +7, SM: +4 | Speed 30' | Luck 9/9 | Panache 6/6
I'm fine with a majority decision on hero points either way. Like Nick, my experience with them in other games has been they seldom get used. It's a rare player that spends them on small things rather than hoarding them to avoid a character death should it come up.
HP:30 | AC:15 ; T:15 ; FF:13 ; CMD:21 (23 vs grapple) | Fort:+5 ; Ref:+6 ; Will:+7 | Init:+6 ; PER:+8 (Low-Light)
Hmm. I could use some outside opinion. Do people like this new avatar? or the one I had before?
Rat Bastard, Cheeky Monkey, Sly Fox, <insert anthropomorphic animal metaphor here>
I preferred the other one, I think.
HP:112 | AC:28 ; T:27 ; FF:22 ; CMD:38/32 | Fort:+7 ; Ref:+12 ; Will:+12 | Init:+9 ; PER:+15 (Low Light)
Have you thought about using this one?
HP: 36/36 | AC: 19 (T: 13, F: 16) | CMB: +3, CMD: 16 | F: +4, R: +7, W: +4 (+7 vs Charm/Compulsion) | Init: +5 | Perc: +7, SM: +4 | Speed 30' | Luck 9/9 | Panache 6/6
I'd say you know your character better than anyone. Go with the one you thinks fits her better.
I find the lack of reasonable avatar choices frustrating myself. Mostly I add character art to profiles to convey appearances, and choose approximate avatars to convey a character's emotional register or general vibe.
The current one you have reads younger and spunkier than the previous one, which read more experienced and world-weary to me.
Yeah, I looked at that Reiko one, SR, but it feels like more of a lateral move from the original. And I think I agree with RD about the newer one ... not quite the right character vibe.
Oh well. I was looking for something with white hair, but that's not worth shifting the whole thing.
Thanks. :)
Female Human Bard (Archaeologist) 6 / Inquisitor 1 | HP: 55/60 | AC: 20 (T: 14, F: 16) | CMB: +5, CMD: 19 | F: +8, R: +10, W: +7 (+2 vs Enchantments) | Init: +4 | Perc: +12, SM: +8 | Speed 30' | Luck: 17/20
This is probably weird, but mostly I choose the avatar that puts me in the right frame of mind to write for the character.
Female Human Inquisitor (Sanctified Slayer) 4 / Swashbuckler (Rostland Bravo) 1| HP: 45/45 | AC: 19 (T: 13, F: 16) | CMB: +6, CMD: 19 | F: +6, R: +6, W: +6 | Init: +7 | Perc: +10, SM: +8 | Speed 30'| Panache 1/1
Kinda like a tuning fork for writing since I see it as I write posts.
Female Half-Elf Bloodrager (Urban) 3 | HP 42/42| AC 16 (T 12, F 14) | CMB +6, CMD 18 | F +5, R +4, W +3 (+5 vs Charm and Compulsion) (All +1 vs Arcane Spells) | Init +3 | Perc +6 | Speed 30 | Rage 10/10
Like, you can probably guess a lot about how these three characters are different in personality by the avatars, even though the physical appearances aren't wildly dissimilar.
HP: 36/36 | AC: 19 (T: 13, F: 16) | CMB: +3, CMD: 16 | F: +4, R: +7, W: +4 (+7 vs Charm/Compulsion) | Init: +5 | Perc: +7, SM: +4 | Speed 30' | Luck 9/9 | Panache 6/6
I think the only white haired and asian avatars you'll find are of the iconic witch Feiya.
Rat Bastard, Cheeky Monkey, Sly Fox, <insert anthropomorphic animal metaphor here>
Yep! to all of the above. The diversity of choices - particularly for non-caucasian looking characters is (I'll be generous here) 'limited'... which irks me in many many ways. Tien =/= 'HAWT Geisha'.
The reason I wasn't digging your second choice, Eben, was because the character looked more caucasian than Tien to me and had sort of a cyberpunk feel.
That said, as you know, I'm always down for you picking the character image that works for you. But since you asked for opinions, I offered one.
You do you, Boo! You do you.
OK... guys! I am going to be kicking off the game shortly with a set of posts. You bought the ticket... time to take the ride! :D

You guys are kind to so quickly validate my character's entire concept. :D
(I'm not even kidding with this post)

Quick explanation...
When you are in battles, you will see me switch to other aliases, nearly all will be Villainous [insert title]. That indicates the creature type you are facing so you don't have to speculate what kind of Knowledge check you need to ID the beastie.

How far off shore is the boat?
Rat Bastard, Cheeky Monkey, Sly Fox, <insert anthropomorphic animal metaphor here>
The nautical term for that distance is "a long-ass way".
Rat Bastard, Cheeky Monkey, Sly Fox, <insert anthropomorphic animal metaphor here>
Yeah, if only you had like a boat or something...
Male Elf
So I keep going back and forth on this and wanted to broach the topic of talking, or table-talk I guess. What's the etiquette everyone is comfortable with?
Honestly I am feeling like I'm at Wrestlemania and I want to scream "hit 'em with the chair!" so badly.
Normally I would roleplay it as my character shouting instructions but since Yash is not actually involved, and barely aware of this combat, I feel like I should ask so I don't step on any toes or ruin the atmosphere for anyone.
