Mrs. Book gestures as fast as she can, trying to get her spell off before someone rushes into melee and spoils her aim. To no avail, it seems, as Viridian dashes out to engage.

I hope he survives. 6 is a lot to take on at one time.

OK, I'm ready to go. One thing about the Spire that it looks like GM F missed--the entire first level is Difficult terrain for the party, although the goblins don't have any trouble picking their way through it. I'll run it that way after this room.

Mrs. Book times her attack with the advancing party so that their light spells illuminate the red target. Before the darkness closes in again, she sees the goblin take a bit of an acid burn. No one else manages to connect, though.

Corbrae, I think sleep is a full-round spell. Also, keep in mind that without a lot of discrete light sources you can't see any of the goblins from the doorway. (This is an extremely frustrating set of environmental effects.)

Yipping and shouting insults, the goblins swarm around the party, most of them going after the wolf. The one on Joseph manages to find a gap in the fighter's armor inflicting 4 HP. Viridian dodges his attacker, but Blitz finds itself the center of a ring of flashing steel. The dog takes 9 HP.

Mrs. Book moves up and uses a precious spell to attempt to neutralize a few of them. For a moment the room lights up in bright colors.

Viridian's blade opens the throat of the goblin, and it falls to the ground. Tibearius steps up and hammers the blue-clad goblin, but it does not fall. Joseph's strike is a hair's-breadth too slow, though, giving his target enough time to dodge out of the way.

There is a brilliant flash of coruscating color, and Viridian sees one of the goblins facing him go down, clutching its eyes. The second goblin facing Joseph suffers the same fate.

Blitz misses, but the druid does not, and another goblin goes down with a squeal of pain. Mrs. Book's acid splash goes off into the darkness before Joseph puts an end to the fight by smashing the last goblin's skull.

Out of combat!

A search of the room turns up a great deal of rotted food in small packets, including a piece of cheese that smells worse than Joseph three hours after a large slice of tres leches cake washed down with a big glass of milk. Under one of the beds, though, is something odd and interesting: wrapped in a filthy and tattered piece of cloth is a human-sized arm crafted of metal and green crystal, cunningly articulated to be able to move at elbow, wrist, and finger joints.

Strange and filthy sort of goblins are these. But even stranger are the artifacts they collect. Nevertheless, I must tend to injuries of Blitz first.

Both Viridian and Blitz were injured and would save a wand or if a party channel was offered. I could not remember if we used them all already…but if we are resting etc…
