Tibearius |
Bless is still active, so I'm going to assume we're going after the goblin.
As soon as the goblin dog hits the ground, Tibearius surges forward and peers around the corner, longspear at the ready.
If the goblin is within 10 feet, Tibearius takes a poke at it: longspear, bless: 1d20 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 + 1 = 7 for piercing dmg: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
GM Fuzzfoot |
You do not see the goblin. In fact, you don't see anything beyond 5 feet. It is unnaturally dark in here.
Tibearius |
Tibearius pulls back and gets a torch out, followed by flint and steel. While unpacking, he says, "Pitch black in there. I can be your torch bearer, but that means I can't cast divine spells without putting my weapon down. I'll light this torch, but can anyone else carry it?"
Goal: light shield with holy symbol in shield hand AND weapon in main hand... if no one else can carry the torch I'll have the torch in the shield hand instead.
Mrs. Book |
"Sure, Tib, I'd be happy to carry it."
Mrs. Book strides up to Tibearius and takes the torch from him.
Tibearius |
Tibearius hands the torch to Mrs. Book, nodding. Rising, he heads towards Cheesy Joe and cast a spell of light of one of his arrows. "Shoot that one into the darkness and see if it will part the gloom."
Viridian Torr |
Viridian and Blitz also continue with the group. Viridian tries a light spell, but assume that will not work...yet.
This darkness is uncanny. And beyond the simple tricks of a mere goblin.
Blitz stops to sniff for any scent of the goblin (or others of his kind).
Mrs. Book |
"If a light spell does not work, I guess we will have to stumble about in the dark. That does not reassure me. I don't know how we are supposed to do this. None of my spells will work if this darkness will swallow all light sources."
GM Fuzzfoot |
The various lights work, but only barely. The light arrow quickly disappears, being swallowed by the black. Once it was more than 5 feet away, you just couldn't see it anymore. All of your light sources only illuminate the square you are in, and those immediately surrounding you.
Blitz has slightly better luck, in that his sense of smell is not diminished. However, the smell of goblin permeates the entire area, making it difficult to pinpoint where the little bugger went. Still, he could probably follow a trail.
Mrs. Book |
Mrs Book takes encouragement from this and casts a light spell on her cane, though all the different sources of light and shadows starts giving her a headache.
Viridian Torr |
Viridian grasps collar of the wolf and has him
Seek/track a goblin trail in the dark.
”Follow us by voice. Let’s hope there are no pits in the dark. “
let me know if this is ok or handle animal etc needed take -10 for 17 or can roll
GM Fuzzfoot |
The wolf sniffs around and leads you deeper into the darkness.
You come face to face with another goblin, and hear snoring behind him.

Tibearius tries to push his longspear into the goblin.

Only Blitz and Tiberius manage to hit (even the vs Touch just missed) the agile goblin.
The goblin responds, swiping at Tiberius this time.

Ok, instead of stab, he waves his spear around the goblin to confuse it. LOL
Corbrae Illynel |
The place is too crowded.. I should help another way..
The half elf starts singing a beautiful ballad about virtuous, law abiding heroes
Inspire courage , round 1 of 13, +1 to hit and damage

Our melee rolls are amazing!
GM Fuzzfoot |
Corbrae really needs to sing louder or something... you all need more inspiration!
Everyone has a hard time hitting the nimble goblins, so they seem more bold! The dog, however, seems distracted.
Goblin dog bites at Joseph: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
Mrs. Book - you're up!
Mrs. Book |
Mrs. Book does what little she can to help in the battle and logs an acid blob at the goblin dog.

GM Fuzzfoot |
Blue is not visible to you, so you do unfortunately miss.
The goblin attacks Viridian with his horsechopper, wounding him badly!

Viridian Torr |
Viridian curses at the pain from the injury
”More would be bad news. These are enough! “
He stabs the steps back to try to recover.

Corbrae, while singing, manages to get closer to Viridian, and casts a curative spell on the half elf
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
But the magic only erase some minor scratch, to her dismay.
She snaps at the fighter
Could you stop showing unnecessary mercy and use a real weapon on the foes who try to kill us?
Joseph 'Cheese Slicer" Hanlon |
"Sure. Got one I can borrow?"
In this light anything more then 5 ft away would have a 20% miss chance, I think. And you see his bow and a large reach weapon.
Tibearius |
"Yes, I got several Joe; reach for my belt!" says the longspear-wielding cleric, who also carries a heavy mace, a dagger, a starknife and a pint of oil.
Mrs. Book |
"Mrs. Book, come next to me and shine your torch down this passage please,"
"Sure, no problem."
Though you will have to wait for her init to arrive.
GM Fuzzfoot |
Despite the ridicule, the sap was the most effective weapon this round. The goblin dog takes a hit, and snaps back at Joseph, but it snaps nothing but air.
Bite attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
Mrs. Book is up.

"Tibearius, honey, stick your spear over here and I'll cast light on the tip and you can shine it anywhere you want."
She casts a light spell on the tip of Tiberious' spear, assuming he allows her, which cancels the spell on her cane, leaving her in darkness. If it is a move action for him to position the spear, she will hold her action until he is able to present the spear tip.
GM Fuzzfoot |
I think its ok.
The goblin strikes at the wolf.
Bite attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20
Damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
I have him down to 3 hp, does that match what you think?

Tibearius |
@GM Fuzzfoot: would it be possible to get the HP totals in the initiative block? it would make my job as cleric player much easier... otherwise I'll be scrolling back and forth to try to tally that myself every time it's Tibearius' turn, and my numbers may be different than yours; thx!
Viridian Torr |
@GM = yes 3hp for wolf, 4hp for Viridian
The wolf yelps in pain as once again the goblin draws blood.
Blitz snaps back at the little menace.
bite: 1d20 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 2 + 1 = 12 for dmg: 1d6 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 + 1 = 3
Viridian pulls out the wand and taps the wolf
Stand strong, Blitz. You can take him!
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Ok, now 6hp for wolf, 4hp for Viridian. Ohhh for some better rolls.
Joseph 'Cheese Slicer" Hanlon |
"Thanks."
Joseph grabs Tibearius's Heavy Mace off his belt and smacks the dog with it.
melee attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16
blugoning damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7

Channel to heal, excluding enemies with Selective Channel: 1d6 ⇒ 5
GM Fuzzfoot |
Will Save: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 1 = 17
Joseph manages to knock the dog out. Corbrae tries to flash a light in the goblin's eyes, but it manages to ignore the effect.
Mrs. Book may now go.
I do have HP on the slides, but I can try putting back in the block.I usually do, but was trying something different - also to avoid me jumping in and out of characters so much.
Mrs. Book |
Once again she sends a blob of acid at the closest opponent, not expecting much.
to hit acid splash ranged touch, cover, melee: 1d20 + 2 - 4 - 4 ⇒ (8) + 2 - 4 - 4 = 2
acid damage: 1d3 ⇒ 1
And she is not surprised by the result.
"Dang, this works so much better on mineral buildup and tough to clean pots."
