I can run Draconic Folly instead of Protecting the Firelight if you like. I have that one ready.
I was hesitant to propose it because it's an all out brawl.
| GM Bret |
I don’t know anything about it other than the blurb.
The fall of Treerazer left a power vacuum in southern Kyonin. A young and arrogant dragon believes that they're the best one to fill this. They've had their minions assailing and robbing travelers, charging tolls and tribute, and otherwise disrupting the region's recovery in the wake of the demon lord's defeat. With their resources stretched thin recovering the rest of the region and cleansing more significant demonic remnants, the elves of Kyonin have asked the Pathfinders, newly granted a lodge in Greengold, to deal with the upstart dragon. It's up to you to to take on the dragon. And even a young dragon is not a threat to be underestimated.
Written by Tineke Bolleman
Tineke is generally a good author.
I have not read the scenario. My reason for being interested in it is Vardarel is a Kyonin Emissary from Iadara, the capital of Kyonin.
I wasn’t even aware that Treerazer had been defeated.

There is a high level AP where you fight Treerazer. I guess that ended with Treerazor's defeat.

07-07 is combat heavy. I haven't submitted our game for OP yet so we have time to decide.

Asking a Priestess if her carriage has cannons or flamethrowers is certainly not mundane to Stitch, more like required!

so what do you want to play for Outpost? Still want to do 07-07 Low Tier?
GM Tiger
|
here's an alternative -- we can also do 07-11 (Darkness Within; 7-8 nonrepeatable). It just came out today.
Bella Sidare
|
I'm still level 6, I'd have to swap to my Sorceress, but she's tied up in an adventure right now. I'm fine with either game.
Vardarel
|
Seems like there are a few people that will still be at level 6.
Should we do a 3-6 adventure instead and I will switch in a different character? Or do we want to do a 5-8 adventure instead?
If we are to keep this group going we really need to get everyone at the same level. The narrow level bands of the new adventures make it tough otherwise.
Vardarel is currently at 68xp, finishing this adventure puts him at 72 so level 7.
GM Tiger

How about this -- I can do the Chitterwood series as a 2-parter (Part 1 is a 3-4 but reads like a Series 2 Quest). Part 2 was released yesterday and is a 5-6. Both are repeatable.
Roark is also at 68 XP which will level him up at the end of this adventure.

Final fight after the chase. If you'd like your downtimes in your chronicles, go for it :)
Roark Dances for the Council
Performance, DC 19: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (8) + 16 = 24
Success for 6.4 gp

Vardarel finds some translation work that requires knowledge of elven cultural context.
Vardarel's Lore 1 (E): 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (8) + 12 = 20 (Elven Lore)

Chitterwood Series:
Part 1 (07-09; 3-4 Repeatable) - Reads like a Series 2 Quest. Mostly skill checks. This will be quick.
Part 2 (07-11; 5-6 Repeatable) - Combat heavy but not too bad. If you survived 06-12 (Burning of Greensteeples), you won't have a problem with this one.
Both are undead-heavy so bring a cleric or someone that does vitality damage! :)
We can do Part 2 as a single adventure but somehow it seems wrong to do Part 2 w/o doing Part 1!! :)

Performance: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (20) + 13 = 33
Bella and Khiari write a play about traffic circles, roundabouts and rotaries in which a pair of buffoon devil drivers argue over their differences while refusing to exit the circle. Their master is unamused but is bound by traffic law. For plausible deniability the passenger is not Asmodeus.

"It wouldn't hurt if you had some cannons.. maybe some caltrops to drop? Liquid fire in a barrel?" He's pretty sure she'd appreciate liquid fire..
Stitch tries to pimp the Lady's ride for a little bit of a side hustle money, hoping the gold doesn't smell too much like brimstone.
Expert in Crafting (INT): 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (14) + 15 = 29

We're essentially done except for the final combat. If you can fill in the 07-09 info we can get started. We can reuse the macros for 07-12 since Bella and Stitch won't need to swap their PCs out.
Yes, I goofed on the scenario numbers. Chitterwood Pt 2 is 07-12 and not 07-11 as previously indicated.
So what's everyone's XP looking like? I know Vardarel and Roark will hit lvl 7 after this one. Bun Bun, Stitch, Bella, Clover - what's your status?
And yes, the newer scenarios have a narrower level range...
Bella Sidare
|
I'll be at 68 XP after this. I guess I'll need to GM a level 6 game to give her some bonus XP. I should have given some of the Electric games to her. Oh well...
GM Tiger
|
You should be fine after Outpost. 07-12 is a 5-6.
Stitch? Where would you be at after this one?
Faehild
|
This is my Viking who I will bring if we are playing the Chitterwood series. Currently 4th level.
I should be able to get one more credit on them in time to transition to 5th at the end of the first Chitterwood adventure.
Clover Nettlesoup

I am currently at 70. After this I will be 74.
GM Tiger
|
so that means Bun and Stitch need to play (or GM) 1 more after 07-12.
So 1 more 3-6 (or a 5-6) after to get everyone caught up...
If someone has a 3-6, be my guest. The only 3-6 repeatable I have is Crashing Wave (underwater combat)... or we can do a 5-8 low tier...
GM Tiger
|
2 options for a 3-6:
01-13 (Devil at the Crossroads; Non-repeatable, but you get a boon that gives that PC an extra hero point during conventions). Downside it's a bit long (it's kinda a whodunit. Played it once and almost lost a PC).
03-06 (Struck by Shadows; Non-repeatable) - I know Hilary, Bret and Chadius have all played it (I ran the game both times)...
Faehild
|
I would gladly pay a replay for Struck by Shadows.
Crashing Wave is fine by me. As a Viking, water doesn’t scare her.
Devil at the Crossroads is a good story, but has one encounter that some groups find extremely challenging.

Yes, the LAST ONE! :)
Bella Sidare

Oh right, I was thinking of the earlier encounter. Both can be quite difficult if you don't have the right abilities.
I have no trouble spending a replay on it, though. Same with Crashing Wave. My sorceress is already dealing with aquatic combat, and I had a ranger and his wolf try to figure out how to shoot things underwater.
GM Tiger
|
Crashing Wave is repeatable so no replay needed there...
Vardarel

Is the map we are currently supposed to set up slide 5 here?
I moved Vardarel assuming it was.
GM Tiger

Yep. You can reposition yourselves within the purple box.

If you want to burn a replay on Struck By Shadows that might be more fun -- Manny played it with me many many many moons ago! (I think that was my first or second run!) :)

I would like a decision on what we are playing next within the next 36 hours as it would affect what character I play at an in person game.
My Viking is 8 xp from level 5. She has a fair amount of scenarios from this season and if we are doing the Chitterwood series I would like to put one more scenario on her at that in person game so Chitterwood 1 would level her to 5. If we are not going to do it, there are other 1-4 adventures I would choose for her.
GM Tiger
|
I'm setup for Chitterwood Part 1, which would end rather quickly since it reads almost like a Series 2 Quest. We can then do Part 2, which is a 5-6 for Outpost. After that, I would think Struck By Shadows is probably more fun than Crashing Wave to get Stitch and Bun Bun to Lvl 7 (unless Halgur plans to give PBB his 06-10 GM Credit (since that's a 5-8).
Vardarel
|
Alright, the above plan can work for me.
I will probably bring in a different character for Struck by Shadows.
GM Tiger
|
I'm going to move us into combat later today.
If you can fill in RPG Chronicles/Macros/Slides for 07-09 we can get started quickly... (use the files in the link since that one is going to be radically different from your current PCs -- easier to just preserve the current macros/slides)
GM Tiger
|
Halgur do you have a glyph? I just remembered you're in my other 07-09. The table is short 1 glyph for 6...
Nilaglade
|
Time to officially remake this character into a druid, he's my only 3-4.
GM Tiger
|
Halgur, you burning a replay to join Quinoline in 06-20?

Going fishing for a couple days. Be back to posting on Sunday.
Have fun! :)

We can just do the 2-parter for outpost (Chitterwood Parts 1 and 2). Since there are 12 days left in February :)

I've submitted both 07-09 and 07-12 for Outpost. We have time for a breather.
