PFS 2 GM ZD |
No. Its traits are divine, evocation, and fire
Salliss |
I think Salliss should only be down 25 hit points.
He had been damaged for 19 hit points, but then the unicorn healed him for more than that, in your update after that, you acknowledge the healing but the summary still shows Salliss as down 19 hit points.
I am surprised that the Brimorak survived those two hits since it was already injured and I’m using a cold iron weapon. Hopefully the next hit does take it out.
PFS 2 GM ZD |
I missed the healing. But the cold iron is calculated in. He is close to going down.

No problem Hopper. Just relax for the weekend. We can cover it from here.
Salliss |
We are waiting for Ionic’s actions, right?
By the way, Hilary and I will be at a local convention Feb 17-20. We probably will be slower to update during that time.
Pip Hip Hooray |
Should we be botting Ionic? I am willing to do so.
Ionic Saltbeard |
Sorry fo r holding things up there! I feel off the posting bandwagon over the weekend and just got back to posting now. Thanks for obtting me! Also I'm assuming that one of those actions was tot hunt the demon as prey? Otherwise that second attack would be at -4
Pip Hip Hooray |
I have not played any Rangers. Assume that you hunted prey, and I only did one strike for you. Both missed after all.
Salliss |
With the hunt prey, rangers have something akin to Flurry of Blows that allows them to attack twice with a single action.
Different details (hunt prey rather than enter stance, different name for the ranger ability) but very similar effect.
I have watched a lot of ranger players and looked at building one. None built yet, but someday I likely will. Need a hook.
PFS 2 GM ZD |
I have built both a ranged flurry ranger and a ranged precision ranger.
The flurry ranger can get off 4 arrows each round with the right feats. Melee flurry have better chances since agile reduces the penalty further.
The precision ranger, who uses a crossbow, can get off one to two shots a round. If it hits, it can hit hard.
Salliss |
When you do the update for Ionic’s attacks, could you please fix Salliss’s hit points. He should only be down 25 hit points.

This, Ionic can pull off up to 4 attacks a round and is much more accurate (Flurry ranger reduces penalty to -3 and -6 (or -2/-4 for agile)) when fighting his Prey. It helps a lot.

PFS 2 GM ZD |
Great job on the combat.
So, now that we are out of it. Due to you doing so well with the ritual, the Ravener was weakened and the only brimoraks you faced were from the challenge point adjustment.
Bardyth the Giant |
Excellent work all.
I nominate anyone besides me who spent a point, for a hero point.
Ionic Saltbeard |
I nominate Bardyth and Salliss, they could both probably use these to the best benefit.
(Also just realized that there are 2 l's in Salliss's name. I have been constantly writing it with 1. Sorry about that!)
Pip Hip Hooray |
Bardyth, Ionic and Saliss were all pretty heroic.
So, I nominate:
Random Selection in Alphabetical Order: 1d3 ⇒ 3
Saliss!

I would nominate Salliss and Herondal.
Salliss came to help Hopper leaving the dragon to the others, and I liked Herondals summon of unicorns, they soaked plenty of dmg, which thanks to that did not hurt others and healed more dmg during the fight than anyone else did. On top of that they do good damage and the charge was epic.
(Also just realized that there are 2 l's in Salliss's name. I have been constantly writing it with 1. Sorry about that!)
One day people will see that Hoppper has 3 p's in its name ;) But this is not this day!
PFS 2 GM ZD |
So Salliss and Ionic will be the recipients.
Moving on to the next encounter.

Ritual Circle: The flaming ritual circle brims with energy. Any PC who attempts to cross into the circle must attempt a DC 23 Will save.
Critical Success-The PC enters the circle unharmed.
Success-The PC enters the circle, taking 1d6 fire damage.
Failure-The PC enters the circle, taking 2d6 fire damage and 1d8 negative damage.
Critical Failure-The PC cannot enter the circle. They take 3d6 fire damage and 2d8 negative damage.
Runes: Each of the trolls are chained above runes. The runes are what fuel the ritual. A PC can attempt Acrobatics, Arcana, Athletics, Occult, or Religion to disable the runes, which is a two-action activity. To attempt a check to disable a rune, the PC must be adjacent to the rune.
Pip Hip Hooray |
Herondel, did you cast lingering performance?
PFS 2 GM ZD |
Failed to mention, there is a new map up.
@Salliss, which one are you trying to deactivate, the one under blue or magenta. You can reach either with your speed.
The Mad Hoppper |
I thought it was a silent, invisible third P.
:P
:D It was in fact silent third P representing goblin dislike for written text and the urge to rebel against 'spelling police!' ;)

Adjacent, or within reach (sans weapon reach)? Just asking, since Athletics is what I would use if I'm doing it, and becoming Large increases my natural reach too...

Well, since Hoppper more often than not refers to themselves in the chats as two-P Hopper, *points at the last post* I figured it was fine to do so ;)

Adjacent. But if you are large and your reach is 10, I am okay with you attempting it that way.
Just can not attempt to disable it with a weapon that has reach

Just a heads up. A lot of things are changing at my job right now, so I may slow down on posting, hopefully not though.
Nothing bad, just people moving positions and a promotional process that I am in.
The Mad Hoppper |
Good luck with that @Gm. I hope you will enjoy that change!
Pip Hip Hooray |
That sounds like a good kind of change. I hope that the promotion brings you the right kind of changes -- interesting challenges, the feeling of making a difference, and money.
PFS 2 GM ZD |
I would be stepping into a supervisory/administrative role from an operational role at work. New and interesting challenges yes. But will it be worth the money, haha?
Pip Hip Hooray |
I decided that being a manager at the library was not worth it and about twelve years ago I took myself explicitly off the managerial track. I stopped trying to be on all the right committees and stopped trying to be seen on all the right projects. I now only concentrate on the projects that interest me and am much happier.
The problem that I had with being a manager at the library was that it replaces work that I like with meetings and paperwork and overtime. And the money? Not much better. But not all managerial positions are like that. Being able to influence the direction that work is going, and help people under you... that can make being a manager a fine thing.
So really, it depends on the managerial job.
Hmm
Salliss |
Good luck with the promotion, ZD! I do hope you like it.
Hilary and I will be at a convention today through Sunday, so our updates may be a little slower.
The Mad Hoppper |
Just as an FYI with Wolfie speed, I should be able to get to the rune with red troll next round (and actually try to disable the same one). So I strongly suggest either going for the green or focusing down the trolls? (I don't know if they will be released or just stand there:|)
Pip Hip Hooray |
Next round I think I will blistering invective some trolls.
The Mad Hoppper |

Hey, I think I completely missed the part that we need 2 successes to disable the rune. But I think it was missing from the description... Ok, I will revise my idea ;)
Bardyth the Giant |
Yeah, I noticed it wasn't in the description either. But picked up on the "partially disabled" statements

What I provided was the box text from the scenario. The CP adjustment changed it from 1 success to 2 successes or critical success. I failed to update the text on my end.
Salliss |
I don’t know what the runes do exactly, but I am really hoping that they reduce that DC 30 that the spirit has been hitting us with…
PFS 2 GM ZD |
The runes are slowly stripping away the spirit's powers. Most of these buffs are not apparent and you have not seen some of them since you have not directly confronted the spirit.
I will let you know that the runes you have disabled have limited their reach and got rid of a particularly nasty reaction.
Unfortunately, none impact the DC. That is due to the challenge point adjustment.
Salliss |
I hope that doesn’t mean what I fear it does.
In my opinion the elite adjustment doesn’t work well for boss creatures.
Bardyth the Giant |
Oof, yeah. Especially when something is already on par with a severe, or worse, encounter. (Anything with a DC 28 or higher on such nonsense, and that huge fire barrier, going to be as such for our level.)
Me thinks, if I'm still standing on my turn, it's time for me to go attack that Demon... and hope I don't get dropped before too much damage from me. Cus losing rage sucks.
PFS 2 GM ZD |
Yuhp. Elite adjustment on a severe encounter BBEG.
