Open recruitment for 3-5 seats in Malevolence, a standalone Adventure for levels 3-5.

1. Let's get this out of the way, so I don't waste anyone's time: I will be selecting primarily based on the player, not the character(s).

I require the following:
- Established reliability in Paizo PbP posting. If you're a new player, I'm sorry, but this is not the game for you. I routinely run new player-friendly games through PFS, so make a check-in post somewhere in Cottonseed and I'll reserve you a seat in the next Level 1 / 1-2 / 1-4 game I run.

I favor the following:
- Regular GMs (if not on Paizo PbP, link a way for me to find your game history - Discord channel, Warhorn pages, Roll20 ads, etc. I don't need a CV, just the last 2-3 games you ran)
- Players with a sense of humor and fun.
- Characters that feel and act like people in real life.
- Characters that break stereotypes.

I disfavor the following:
- Players vehemently opposed to PFS rules. This warrants some explanation. I don't agree with every single rule PFS has, but if you can't see any value in them, you're going to have a bad time in my game, because my rules are going to be PFS rules with small tweaks, and not PFS rules with huge revisions, much less a complete rejection of PFS rules.
- CHA-dumped killing machine characters, especially emotionally-detached male ones. The Witcher is already overrepresented in the character pool, sorry.
- Sexualized characters, especially female ones. I used to have a paragraph for when people asked why but I just Louis Armstrong it now: "Man, if you gotta ask, you'll never know."

2. The Adventure will be run in Adventure Mode with the option for PFS credit at the end. The game will generally follow PFS rules, with the following exceptions:
- I'm allowing expanded access on ancestries and heritages (but not classes, items or feats) - players can freely choose Uncommon ancestries and heritages. I'm also willing to consider Rare ancestries and heritages, but on a "sell me on it" basis.
- I'm not sure when Guns & Gears will be available, but I'm not going to allow any Guns & Gears material even if it's released before the game starts - frankly, I don't intend to buy the book until December, so I won't have access to it.
- I'm willing to consider evil-aligned characters on a temporary basis - an evil character would have to be moving goodward throughout the adventure. And, of course, all the usual caveats about evil characters - they can't be disruptive, no PvP, etc. This will be a group discussion after recruitment ends.

3. Recruitment will be open for at least one week from this post, until October 8. All applications that are received in the first week will be considered equally. Assuming that there are enough qualified applicants in the first week, I'll choose, and the game will start mid-October, tentatively October 18.
3.1. The week of October 11-15 will primarily be used for players to finalize their characters and backstories and coordinate with each other.
3.2. The Adventure is written with a party of 4 in mind, but in anticipation of there being more qualified applicants than I can take, I'm willing to run with 6.
3.3. One seat is reserved for Deevor.

4. The game will be played by play-by-post on the Paizo forums. While this is the first Adventure I will have GMed, and the pace will not entirely be set by me, I anticipate that this game will last 6-8 months.
4.1. I request that players post 1/weekday, 1/weekend. This leads to PFS Quests/Bounties that are 1.5-2 weeks long, and Scenarios that are 5-7 weeks long (low of 3, high of 12), and I'm estimating this is roughly the length of 4-6 PFS Scenarios.
4.2. This will mean the game runs through at least two major US holidays, and my posting rate will decrease around those holidays. As a rule of thumb, my request is that players announce their slowdowns/absences such that the time between the announcement and the beginning of the absence is twice as long as the absence. So, if you're going to be absent for 1 week, 2 weeks' notice is requested.
4.3. I hate botting characters. I consider posting to be a privilege, not a chore. Real life comes first, and I'm happy to hold the game for real life issues that come up, instead of botting. If a particular section of the adventure is uninteresting, I'll use the privilege afforded by Adventure Mode to shorten or modify it to make it more fun. Being able to do this is one of the reasons I'm offering an Adventure rather than PFS Scenarios.

5. Each player can apply with as many characters as they feel like, including zero (though, at least one character outline would be appreciated - it will help me see what types of characters you want to play). Given how deadly many of the Adventures are, it is quite possible that a player will go through multiple characters. Please don't spam this thread with in-character posts - a description of the character (spoiler anything that's more than a quick summary so the thread doesn't end up too long) in your application post is fine. I don't want every applicant to go out and create aliases just to apply.

6. Triggers: this is a horror-themed adventure, with extended descriptions of murder and undeath. From my preliminary read-through, there is also art depicting spiders and art which could trigger trypophobia. Please PM me if any of this is concerning, we can probably work around it and/or I can take a closer look.

7. Holy wall of text, Batman! What am I looking for?:
- A post from your main alias.
- An indication that you're interested in applying.
- An indication that you understand my boundaries.
- A statement that you're a reliable PbP player and/or GM (with links to support that if we haven't played much together).
- A proposed character (or proposed characters, if you wish).

Lantern Lodge

I'm interested in playing.
I'm more than happy with your boundaries. I note that I'm likely to be away for a couple of weeks in the early new year.
I'm a moderately reliable player /GM (feel free to look at my current campaigns tab for games I am active in at the moment). I've been on the Paizo PBM forums for a few years now, and other PBP forums for decades. You have GMed me a few times in PFSv2.
I'm not interested in playing an evil character (but can work with them).

Currently I'm thinking of :
Cosmos themed oracle which might play into the horror aspects well. Where is the adventure set? I was vaguely thinking of a character from Nidal (probably a refugee).
Or a sprit barbarian might be quite fun and thematic as well. I've been wondering about making one for some time, but held off as undead are not uncommon, but not all over the place either.

A third option - priest of Pharasma. I'm thinking of professional midwife here who has been led to other tasks by her deity. Bit of a fish out of water.

Lawful good necromancer wizard who learned necromancy in order to counter the undead rather than make them.

Got to stop now, too many ideas.

I'm interested in playing.
I understand and respect your boundaries.
I feel I'm a reliable player/GM (hopefully proven by our shared Hao Jin run.)
The characters I would bring in would likely be basically playtests of characters I'll eventually make for PFS when I get the ACP -
1.) A gnoll rogue with the ruffian racket
2.) A catfolk swashbuckler
3.) A Nyktera sprite something.

Dark Archive

- Interested in playing as well.
- Boundaries understood.
- I try to be as reliable to my tables as possible.
- Not quite sure on a character yet. Thinking some sort of Phoenix /
Psychopomp Sorcerer (Psychopomp may fit better) or Anadi swashbuckler (More horror) but not set on anything particular atm.

"Sept fer sum, ya know, but I'd be thinkin' thet folks'r jenrully good - er leas', 'nclined ta be so"

Laurel "Desna" was once asked an existential question on the nature of humanoid behavior that could (and has!) been academically debated since time immemorial. And though he was fully engaged - as with all things set before his attention - with the subject itself, while admittedly "important" by some measure or another, it seemed to him deserving of at maximum a few moments consideration before being lost otherwise to the busy activities of his typical day - if such a kind of day were something that could be had by our young hero!

Being the man of the house - well, wagon actually - came with it's perks, but unfortunately it also came with more responsibility, meaning less time for goofing around and always back to taking care of his mother, Marin, as she had the indefatigable habit of constantly worrying and fretting over him, even though his own assessment of his own prowess in all things - and especially his "stances" fighting with knives! - and concordantly being able to provide "protection" - was, absolutely without bias, high.

"Now tho, ya put 'im in a sichiashun, one 'o demwits thar be no clear rite and rong, wu'll, guess yuh gotta do whut yuh gotta do - thet goin' now fer you and me, an' me Ma course, an' anybuddy suppose"

A conclusion to a thesis, expressed in Taldane through a thick Varisian accent.

...

Applying with this character - Human Ranger (Precision) / Swashbuckler (Braggart) - he is "young" and that may or may not be something that the table is okay with - I read the whole opening post and otherwise agree to everything - good luck folks!

Hello, as you may know, I'm a DungeonMaster, not only on these forums but on Roll20 as well. This is play by post, so that is probably all that counts. I'm also pretty sure we've played together or I've played in one of your games.
I do understand your boundaries and like PFS. I do have one question. Since this is Pathfinder 2e, how is it possible to Cha dump other than playing a Dwarf?
Not that you need to worry about me doing that, cause I plan to play a Sorcerer with the Farmhand background named Max, who lost his farm, cause he was scammed out of it. He signed a document that said he would get all the gold out of the man's chest if he sold the farm to him. The chest was full and and the man opened it to show him the gold. However, it was all copper coins painted gold and Max didn't check the coins, and because the man had a lawyer with him, Max received no coins, not even the 3000 or so copper as the document said Max would receive all the gold out of the chest. My character is also going to have a sense of humor, I do like to make jokes with my character.

I present to you Max the Farmhand Sorcerer. He will have fun utility spells like transform into things or build walls, illusions, invisibility, good evocations spells, the ability to lie and identify things, as athletic as a fighter, forget spider climb, jump, etc. He might have fly, but well you get the picture. And of course a good sense of humor.

Add me to the list of petitioners.

You've both GMed my characters and played with me in several games (including two currently active for GameDay X), so you already have an idea of how I play. I have a fair bit of time on my hands these days and expect that to remain the case indefinitely. As such, I have no problem with posting 1-2 times a day, including on weekends. I also have no problem with any of the boundaries you've specified.

My main source of enjoyment with RPGs is the roleplaying. That is mainly why I like PbP play so much better than playing face-to-face. With PbP, I have the time to properly channel my character and carefully craft my posts without feeling rushed. Because of this, I've noticed that I have the most fun playing multi-faceted CHA-heavy characters with sidekicks.

For example, how about a Summoner with a Psychopomp Eidolon. His background is as a mortician who sees his calling as taking care of the remains of the dead, both physical and spiritual, and making sure that they are properly put to rest. Pharasma was sufficiently impressed by him that she assigned him a personal psychopomp. Admittedly she chose one of her lowlier psychopomps, one she could afford to do without. Perhaps they displeased her in some way and are being punished; perhaps they feel that they have to prove something to their mistress to get back into her good graces. Whatever the reason, the mortician is happy for its help, and for its company in what is a rather lonely profession.

Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Superscriber

I am interested in playing.
I understand and wholeheartedly agree with your boundaries.
I am a reliable player usually posting in the evenings but sometimes mornings before work.
I currently have a few characters in mind. A hunchbacked human investigator, a sweet grandmotherly human witch with a gingerbread man familiar (changeling maybe?) possibly others depending on what others wish to play.

What part of Golarion does this adventure take place? Is there any information you can give that might influence character creation?

Hello again WS! I would be interested in playing at one of your tables again, and the boundaries/ideas you laid out sound very reasonable. I would only ask that since we’re using PFS rules as a baseline, any changes would be discussed at the beginning of the campaign rather than only when they become relevant (if possible).

As far as characters go, I’ve had an idea for a Lastwall survivor haunted by the memories of his dead companions and trying to leave his past behind him. Mechanically he’s a spirit barbarian. I’d also be open to other characters if the party has a specific need, but this is one I’ve had for a while that hasn’t found a home yet.

DoubleGold wrote:

It's possible with Voluntary Flaws.

Halgur wrote:

The geographic location is southwestern Ravounel.

There's no official guide on character creation. It's mostly indoors, and horror-themed. I haven't made Ye Olde Spreadsheet O' XP-Generating Events, so I can't even say whether it's more Occult-y or more Religion-y.

Unlike, say, Fall of Plaguestone, it's very open-ended how you arrive there. There are no special backgrounds, but there are a few suggested plot hooks that we can talk about after recruitment.

Oh wow, you get yourself some heavy-hitters into the recruitment. I would like to also throw my hat into the ring.
I read through your rules and they all sound good to me.
I was thinking about a PC concept and since it lvl 3+ I would be interested in playing a caster. So far I was thinking about goblinoid summoner who got himself tied with a demon of some sort. I would like to play it as a kind of an accident, where the edilon tricked the summoner to bind to them. So that my summoner is not actually evil but reckless and now tries to look for a way to break the bond.

This is my high-level idea, but if I would be selected I could play any roll, and adjust my PC to it.

So as to the rest: Boundaries understood and, in fact, are great. I am a reliable PbP player (honestly, more reliable as a player than as a DM -- DMing is more work and life gets in the way sometimes.

Potential PCs to follow momentarily.

Potential PC concepts. You mentioned the possibility of evil characters, as long as they were moving goodwards. So, okay -- here are three characters that are in some way in need of redemption.

1) Walter the Wizard. Walter is a straight-up wizard, probably an evoker or a diviner, nothing special. He's from Sargava, the descendants of Cheliaxian colonists.

Walter started off as your pretty standard must-gain-arcane-power jerk wizard, with NE or LE alignment. But then he made the mistake of apprenticing himself to a master who was studying the Dark Tapestry. Ultimate result: Lovecraftian horror, master dead, mansion on fire, Walter staggering into the night raving and near madness. Now he's basically suffering from massive PTSD, and trying to *think* his way to a new moral structure. (Because he's still a wizard, so he can't imagine using any stat but Int for anything important.) Put another way, he has done horrible things, and is trying to repent, and is trying to work through that repentance intellectually. This may eventually land him somewhere around NG, but at the moment he's very much a work in progress. Also he's kind of twitchy, bites his nails, and has a complex Lovecraftian backstory that makes him very jumpy around starless nights, stray dogs, and empty bottles.

2) Lewis the Bard. Lewis is the younger son of minor nobility, yadda yadda. He grew up with just a taste of the finer things in life, and he wants more. He *deserves* more. The universe should give him more and better stuff.

At start, Lewis is basically an immature, selfish jerk who will cheerfully use his bardic powers to lie, cheat and steal. He's not into PvP -- Lewis is a team player, if only because he's bright enough to understand the need for meat shields. But otherwise, he's kind of a jackass. His alignment is right on the border between CN and CE. He's charming, but he's not very nice.

What could make Lewis an interesting character is that he's got some characteristic that could drag his head out of his ass and lead him to be a better person. What that is exactly... we can work out what best fits your campaign. Maybe he has a streak of sympathy for the oppressed, or of sincere horror at the crimes of evil. Whatever it is, it raises the possibility of Lewis growing and changing.

3) Lugo the Gnome. Lugo could be a secondary caster, a rogue, or really whatever the campaign needs. What's important about Lugo isn't their* class. It's that Lugo has a bad case of the Bleaching, and may die from it.

The Bleaching is basically boredom cancer. Right now Lugo is trying to fight this off with drugs. (They already tried erotic excess, crime, and alcohol. None of these worked, although they did complicate Lugo's backstory quite a bit.) Now Lugo wobbles between flattened affect, fatalism, and mild depression... and sudden wild lurches towards new experience. Dangerous or even deadly experience? Doesn't matter, as long as it's /interesting/.

Lugo isn't evil as such -- more CN or N -- but they're definitely in need of a redemption arc. Lugo is either going to find something that's so damn-wow capital-I Interesting that it reverses the Bleaching, or they're going to go out in a blaze of glory trying.

*Lugo is a they because the Bleaching has taken their gender. (It doesn't affect all gnomes that way, but it has for Lugo.) It's also taken their memory of their family, their capacity to care about politics or the weather, and their ability to enjoy cheese, baked goods, architecture, and music... Lugo either finds music flat and uninteresting, or is earwormed by it.

Boundaries understood and seem reasonable. I am in a Masks game that just past its 3 year anniversary and a SotDL game that past its 1 year, and have finished 2 shorter PF2e games. I don't tend to GM in the PbP world due to being the forever GM in my IRL group.

I will probably roll up a Magus or Fighter when I get a chance.

I'll toss myself onto the pile. Boundaries sound good to me. I feel that I'm a reliable poster here. I've been in plenty of games on here, some of yours in fact, as well as some from a few of the other applicants here. I have GM'd a few games but I am not regular at it. There's about a year of absence in my post history. Last year between covid and starting GMing a Shattered Star game on roll20, that I have since moved to foundry, I just didn't have it in me. I've done a few games lately, my pathfinder ache has kicked back in.

My first thought for a character was a summoner. A Varisian medium who was into show seances, show as in fake. Until they met a real phantom. Kind of inspired by Whoopi Goldberg in Ghost. I see several other summoners here though so maybe instead...

I have a character I made for an Age of Ashes game that didn't go the distance, Nosteo Faustus. I could retool the background a bit to be more suited to this but I like the concept. A diabolic sorcerer with paladin dedication feats who worships Iomedae. A boyscout who might grow devil horns.

Or maybe even something else, who knows.

I'm very much interested in playing! I've played with you as well as GM'd a game or two for you. Fine with your boundaries and reasonable.

Been really enjoying more support type characters lately. Thinking of playing a halfling cloistered cleric. Unsure of deity as of yet, but typically like the more unusual ones. Perhaps the Cosmic Caravan. Are there any deities that would be better suited for this adventure?

Pathfinder Adventure, Adventure Path Subscriber

Just thought I'd add my brief character thoughts ....

Gnome sorcerer(diabolic) barrister, my preference .....

Human swashbuckler criminal

was also thinking of some sort of investigator ....

On another note, would you be opposed to a Cleric or Champion that acts like a hardcore Christian or Jahoba witness or a mix between the two, that worships a LG deity similar to Jesus? Not necessarily a priest that doesn't marry, but someone who works with a religious group-(youth group, knights of Columbus, holy name, surely you've heard of one of these groups, well he'd be part of a Pathfinder religion group) and sometimes will shove religion down your throat.

MauveAvengr wrote:

Not as far as I can tell - other than the obvious attribute that many things are evil, so good alignment damage is going to be way more useful than evil alignment damage.

DoubleGold wrote:

I personally wouldn't, but I would probably understand if a fellow player did (especially a hardcore Christian or a Jehovah's Witness).

I would handle these things by secret ballot - everyone PMs me, and I give the answer.

Okay, looked at a non-spoiler review of this. (tbc I don't own it, haven't read it, and absolutely will avoid it if we do ths.) It's James Jacobs, who pretty consistently delivers quality product. Apparently there's a lot of backstory that needs to be figured out, which is fine.

It does look like it would be a good fit for my proposed characters Walter (Lovecraftian horror, PTSD, clinging to sanity by his fingernails) and Lugo (gnome at the onset of Bleaching, desperately needs some kind of rush literally to stay alive). A Scooby character built for investigation and/or a straight up evil-smiter would probably do well too, I'm guessing.

Thinking about this a bit... in a horror-themed module, party composition is less about who's a hitter and who's a blaster, and more about *narrative* roles.

The Steady Sensible One.

The Curious One Who Wants To Figure It All Out.

The One With Issues That Match All Too Well With This Bad Environment.

The Blithe / Confident / Naive One Who Is Slow To Realize Just How Bad It Is.

The One Who Lets Greed Overwhelm Their Better Judgment.

The Cowardly One (usually just an annoying nuisance in PF games where heroes win most of the time, but gets a a rare chance to shine in a horror themed adventure)

The One Who Confronts Evil Boldly (perhaps too much so).

Horror often leans on tropes and, yeah, I am there for that. I would be perfectly okay playing the character who decides to go down those creaky stairs into the dark basement right after cheating on his girlfriend, loudly announcing that monsters are just stories, shaking the flashlight a few times and saying "huh, batteries are running out -- no biggie, this won't take a minute," and then loudly discussing his plans for breakfast the next morning as he descends. That character may not have a long career, but I will heartily enjoy playing him.

I think you're on to something here. I wanted to add something though. In a pathfinder horror game I imagine the PCs fill roles more like Ash Williams, Ellen Ripley, or that old lady from Poltergeist and less like the teenagers who get killed while fornicating.

Oh...I realized a character I want to play that will probably never be legal in PFS - not because it's Overpowered but just because they'll never get around to bothering with saying how to make it.

The Core Rulebook mentions that other ancestries besides humans can be half-orcs and that the common ones are Goblins and Dwarves. And it says to get with your GM about allowing it.

I've wanted to play a Dwarf Half-Orc since reading that but there's no ACP cost to be a Half-Orc so you can buy it.

I've seen the checkbox option to do that in Pathbuilder, but can you provide a reference to the rules around it? Much like the Human->Half-Orc option, you'd basically take the stats of a Dwarf and then be able to choose Dwarf or Orc ancestry feats?

That's exactly it. Basically, it would be a Dwarf with the option for Orcy traits. I'd have to think about whether he would be raised by Dwarves or Orcs.

Another idea I want to try that is completely legal but fits better in a long running game than a series of one shots is -

The Crimson Urchin! A halfling vigilante whose civilian disguise is a human street urchin.

I think it would simplify a lot if Half-Orc and Half-Elf were simply common versatile heritages (which they are in fact). That would allow you creating of all sorts of combinations, but there could be some difficulties with that.

@eggelis - I am certain that those `teenagers who get killed` also believe to be Ellen Ripley :) Until they are not :D But I also doubt (and hope) that PC's will not be divided by their life-span in the adventure :D

I'd like to throw my hat into the ring for this. I'm not a new player, but I've not been here very long (since July).

I'd like to think the the games I've been in so far have shown me to be reliable and I'm currently GMing as part of a round-robin. I'm involved in a couple of PbPs on Find the Path Discord in addition to here.

I understand your boundaries - they should make the environment safe enough for everyone to take part without unpleasant surprises.

In terms of characters, I have two potentials in mind -

The first is an exile from Hermea, asked to leave when he was 16. He will either be an aasimar or half orc (and would play differently depending on choice) and his mother will have been convinced that he was going to be allowed to stay. Having been forced to leave, he will be bitter and have doubts about his worth. This character would be an Investigator (Alchemy-focused with an Alchemist dedication).

The second idea is of a Lastwall Survivor, a medic caught in a desperate situation on the battlefield, who cried into the darkness for help in aiding the wounded. They received it, but they do not know the source. They were given power and they now are not sure how to use it. They do know that whoever gave it loves their strong emotions and encourages them. This character would be a Witch with the Medic dedication.

Hm: in addition to Walter the PTSD Wizard, Lewis the carelessly arrogant bard, and Lugo the near-Bleaching gnome, there's also Charlie the accidental paladin.

Character concept: a rogue has a near-death experience and swears that, if he survives, he'll be good. To his astonishment the universe takes him seriously, and he takes his next level as a paladin.

A bit more detail:

"down these mean streets a man must go who is not himself mean, who is neither tarnished nor afraid"

Straight Charlie was a decent enough fellow for a mercenary. He was known for keeping his word and giving solid service for money paid. Lawful neutral, yeah? Not wicked, but nobody's fool. And in a fair fight, he was a dab quick hand with a blade.

Then his little mercenary band got ambushed by a bunch of undead under a priest of Urgathoa. Charlie was the only one who managed to escape, and that's after watching his friends get fed, piecemeal and screaming, to the bloated thing that they called up out of the earth. Desperately working at his bonds, in the depths of terror and despair, Charlie gasped out a half-remembered prayer from childhood... and Someone answered.

From the outside, Charlie seems pretty much the same. But he's different now. Very different. Charlie works for Good now.

He's still in the mercenary world, because it's the only world he knows. He doesn't belong to any order or temple. And he doesn't remotely look like a paladin. He's still a disheveled, somewhat grimy guy in battered armor. You're more likely to encounter in a bar or a flophouse than out questing on a warhorse. Sarenrae, or whoever, saw some deep spark of decency in Charlie, and chose to breath it into a flame. He's grateful, and he wants to be worthy of this incredible gift. But the poor guy has to figure out the whole paladin thing without any help or guidance. Heck, he may not even quite realize that he's a "paladin".)

Charlie's unorthodox origin makes him very circumspect. He's discovered that he can literally "smell badness", and that he feels a strong urge -- almost a compulsion -- to protect the innocent and punish the wicked. But he's not issuing formal challenges and yelling "Smite Evil!". Charlie was a mercenary and rogue (albeit an honest one), and he still *thinks* that way. He doesn't advertise what he is -- in fact, he actively hides it -- and while he doesn't lie, his preferred methods of fighting evil still revolve around misdirection and ambush. And if innocents aren't being directly threatened, he's perfectly comfortable with pulling back to fight another day.

(My impression is that under 2e, a paladin with some rogue chops is slightly suboptimal but perfectly possible. Let me know if I have this wrong.)

I've been mixing strange combinations of ancestries and heritages in my mind and came up with the following character concept:

A Dustwalker Leshy Bones Oracle

In a previous incarnation, this leshy was a powerful necromancer; one of the good ones, who spent its time trying to figure out the easiest and fastest way to rid Golarion of its undead. One day the necromancer went up against a powerful lich and ended up caught in one of the deathly wizard's horrific rituals of undead creation. Despite a valiant effort to combat the ritual, the leshy perished; its spirit torn apart beyond any chance of reconstitution. As neither the leshy's body nor its spirit can ever become undead, the shattered spirit remnants instead wound their way to the Boneyard and became the object of much discussion. Eventually the psychopomps decided that the leshy was too valuable a potential ally against the undead to let it move on to its final resting place. Instead, they decided to rebuild its spirit and return it to the material plane for reincarnation. Despite the psychopomps's best efforts though, the leshy's spirit was left somewhat fragile with not all the fractures fully repaired. As such, rather than returning as the necromantic sorcerer of old, it instead became a bones oracle. It's damaged spirit manifesting itself in the slow rotting and partial recovery of its physical body. Regardless, it continues its fight against the undead, even though it is practically one of them itself.
