Ken moves and draws his rapier. He makes a solid hit on Orange and penetrates the rusty armor. As he draws the weapon back out he notices no sign of the expected gore on the weapon. The skeleton didn't appear to take damage from the attack. He thinks he could do damage with a more powerful strike with this weapon type, or maybe change it up.

Frequency once per round

It was brought to my attention that I missed two nat 20's in a row on Rocky earlier in the round. Rocky would most likely be dying right now... Hands off the chest piece so we aren't going back to change that. The last guy only had 3 hp left but DR 5 almost everything. Things are going to get more difficult from here on out. I'm gonna suggest a return to the drawing board before we continue and maybe put a little emphasis on some ability to heal. Based on these first two fights with throw away adversaries, you're gonna need it.

Alright 3/4 checked in so we're moving on..

Smoke and profanities rise up from a cluster of food stalls near a small park overlooking Absalom Harbor. The commotion centers on two particularly decrepit booths positioned across from each other, each little more than piles of haphazardly nailed boards, their peripheries scorched and smoldering. Suddenly a clay pot flies across the intervening space, smashing against one of the scorched stalls and splattering flaming oil across several others.

The owners of two food stands (a pair of gobblins), Everything Fried and Pelmo’s Pickle Hut, have been brawling. The conflict has escalated into a literal firefight as the two chefs assault each other’s establishments with jars of flaming cooking oil. Neighboring vendors called the guard to preclude the possibility of their own stalls getting caught in the crossfire.

As implied by the stall’s name, Everything Fried specializes in frying anything that fits in the oversized deep fryers.  Toward that end, the booth is packed with barrels of highly flammable cooking oil... and the place is currently on fire. Neighboring shopkeepers are quick to point out that the barrels could explode at any moment.

Perception:

Roscoe: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13
Rocky: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
Ken: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23
Ialtag: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21

Mason and Ialtag both realize that jostling the barrels too much could cause them to rupture and explode.

We're going into rounds because there is an active hazard. If/when combat ensues I will roll Initiative for everyone.

Motioning for the others to check on the fire, Mason steps closer to the fracas and calls out to the fighting shopkeepers.

"Hey! You two, let's bring it down for a moment. What is the issue here?"

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10

not sure what actions can be used for the fire/barrels, so, hopefully i can get the fighting to stop, at least for the moment.

"Eeek! My shop is on fire!" The closest of the two goblins says, seemingly brought out of her rage by Mason's words. "Somebody do something!"

"Of course you take her side! How much is she paying you!" the other shrieks and flingsba spatula a the first.
Maybe another Diplomacy or an Intimidate rolls might stop his antics.

Survival to try to douse the fire. Water has been known to douse fire, but hydraulic push would jostle the barrels. Are you sure you want to do that??

Nobody is deciding anything until the fire is out then we will perform an impartial investigation. Ialtag begins trying to putting the flames out survival: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16

We are not taking sides, we just want the fighting to stop and to listen to both sides of the story. So can we all calm down and talk about it.

Ialtag scoops some dirt from the ground and begins throwing it on the flames in an attempt to douse them. It doesn't seem to be enough to make a dent in the flames.
Good attempt but you didn't make the DC.

"Fine!" the male goblin says and grumpily crosses his arms.

Rocky tries in vain to throw some dirt on the fire but manages to toss some flammable kindling in with it.

The flames grow larger and brighter. The tell tale sounds of wood popping as moisture is released from deep inside the boards causes the onlookers to jump. Some of them begin stepping back as the boards blacken.

The grumpy male goblin giggles with glee as he watches.

The female casts her gaze about looking for something to use to save her ramshackle shop unsuccessfully.

I just rolled a free Knowledge check for all of you based on Survival or Nature, or Wis in the case you weren't trained in either of those.

Roscoe considers using water again to douse the flames, and the harbor is fairly close... but then he recalls that using water to try to douse an oil fire only spreads the fire making the situation worse.

The best course of action is to smother the fire with something solid. Like dirt, sand, gravel or some other none flammable solid.

Moving closer to the flames now that the fighting has stalled, Mason scooped up some of the nearby dirt to throw on the fire.

if he has an action left, would like to try and use perception to locate a bucket or some item to move larger quantities faster. Perception +6E
