Huh, goi g through and culling the weak team Thrune can build the most balanced group.

I guess being LE counts for something.

Right, read through everything and think I have a decent grasp on the political situation. Off to answer the questions now!

Heh, forgot the EitR feat rules, Borgan would take Cleave then on 1st level if he's picked as Power Attack is already assumed.

Well let's see who of the Thrune group gets picked.

This is the alias for Lucien Servinus, Cleric of Asmodeus, submitted by Jacob Trier.

Full stats in profile.

Silver Crusade

Just in case, this is for Hell's Rebels

1. What drove you against the current rulership of Kintargo?

The middle-aged dwarf covered in hideous scars laughs humourlessly. "'Current?' Sit yourself down, lad. I've seen more summers than you, your kids and your grandparents together ever will. Think I hate house Thrune just because some dipshit inquisitor of theirs came to this hole now to take a vacation? Hah. All you short-lived folk and your disdain for history! Less than two centuries ago, there was still an honest civil war going on. Good work for mercenaries like myself. Paid well. Life was good, you drunk every day at the temple and you fought every day you wanted to!

His eyes glaze over. "Wait... two centuries...? Hm... No. Details. Doesn't matter! Demons. F*cking devils! Destroyed your town's church for good Cayden! Killed the head priest in cold blood and stuffed his bleeding corpse in the wind barrel! Saw it myself. ...I think? It's been a while. But the f*cking devils! Unholy pacts of house gods-know how many damned Thrune and their cursed weapons burning into my flesh. Heretical brands! For Cayden!? Not for glory, not for conquest-for fun. Can live with losing. Can't live with the humiliation. Not without fighting back! No..."

2. What stops you from simply leaving for a better nation like Absalom, Andoran or Varisia?

"Can't leave. Can't. Not with the shame unpaid. But... they did something. Something to my blood! Keeps me here. Can't run anyway. I know ."

3. A loved one has been captured. You were promised their safe return in exchange for betraying your comrades. What form will your betrayal take?

"What's this nonsense about, son? You want to know if I know how to look for loopholes in devil contracts? Fine! You don't get to a hundred and eighty years without learning how to screw devils back at their game. So I steal a cookie at breakfast and claim you did it. Goddamn brilliant, huh? Should see their face when they realize some grubby old dwarf outsmarted them for *not specifying* the kind of betrayal on their toilet paper!"

4. You are transporting a cartload of contraband in a public street when a pair of bored guards stop you talking about passage fees, potential fines and a requirement to search your cart. What do you do?

Non-serious answer: he reveals his full face and watches as they run.

"You got gift for faking bad coughs, son? No? Try drinking a bottle of dwarven ale before you go somewhere. Burns your throat real tight. It's fell like a conga line of Callistrian priestesses whipped the insides with flaming whips. They did that, back in the old days! ... I think. Anway, perfect for rasping your voice real good, perfect for the racking, retchet cough. Not like i look healthy or pretty anyway, huh? So i start breathing and coughing in their direction and over the cart behind me, and then we're gonna go see if they want to risk catching whatever bad disease this old dwarf has. Haha! *Cough*

Oh, sorry, that was my bad.

5. Someone you fancy has finally agreed on a day out on the town just you and them. However an important meeting in your organization is being held at the same time and you found out after the date was set. What do you do?

The dwarf looks at the boy, then at himself, then back again. "You're shitting me, right? How much did you pay the broad!? Spend it on good ale next time, ye dumbass. Or better yet, find some cute broad to drink it with yerself and get laid."

6. Your lifes nemesis is at your mercy. But his close family nearby bega for his life. Do you spare him? Or is some other outcome more favorable?

"All of house Thrune at once? What, is this me getting my last four decades of birthday presents in one go? Pfff. Never gonna happen.

The dwarf suddenly falls silent for a while and he seems to ponder it seriously. "...No. Get the information we need. Then kill them and hide the remains. More than they deserve. Exile the family. Protect your own men first."

7. Without describing their job, name, or appearance tell me who you're character is.

An aging dwarf, once a mercenary in the Thrune civil war. Has a personal grudge against them for their use of bound devils to end the war the war crimes that were committed with them. This broke him to a point where he's solely focused on getting even and getting what he thinks is his lost honor back. Probably has been in Thrune prison for decades until he got out. If the best seeming way to get back at them is by putting this city to rebellion, so be it.

Unfortunately, his advanced age and earlier drinking habits have also damaged his brain over time. He has memory problems (names, dates and events, especially recent ones) and confabulates lies if he doesn't know something - which probably detect as true because he doesn't know any better (like Korsakov's syndrome). However, despite his questionable mental state, he might be just dangerous and crafty enough to actually make the whole rebellion thing work...

Awesome to see a cleric of Asmodeus!
I don't think I mentioned religion, but Falanaiel is also devoted to the big A, and she has a special grudge against Iomedae.

Fools, all of them, who think their actions will improve the world because of their blind self-righteousness.

So few worshipers of female devils, i tell you.

Meraati wrote:
So few worshipers of female devils, i tell you.

Just a matter of statistics I'd say, there are only 5 after all (the 4 Queens of Night and a single Malebranche).

Instead of Crow I'd like to submit another character for Rebels. She'd be an Unchained Summoner using the Soulbound Summoner archetype walking around with what looks to be a Kyton Eidolon. She herself would be of the Sarini family though she obviously turned her back on them.

Rebels questions:

1. What drove you against the current rulership of Kintargo?
My family likes them, that alone should be enough. They treat the people of Kintargo like my father's family treats me and nobody deserves that.

2. What stops you from simply leaving for a better nation like Absalom, Andoran or Varisia?
This is my home and I'll fight for it. Seeing my father's face when I win is just gravy.

3. A loved one has been captured. You were promised their safe return in exchange for betraying your comrades. What form will your betrayal take?
The old me would have given my comrades up in a heartbeat, now not so much. Instead I'd get my comrades involved, feign a betrayal and spring free my loved one.

4. You are transporting a cartload of contraband in a public street when a pair of bored guards stop you talking about passage fees, potential fines and a requirement to search your cart. What do you do?
I just can't fathom the day when a Kyton escort does not scare away simple guards. If that alone isn't enough a demonstration with the spiked chain should work.

5. Someone you fancy has finally agreed on a day out on the town just you and them. However an important meeting in your organization is being held at the same time and you found out after the date was set. What do you do?
My duty is to the people first, so while it would sadden me we'd have to reschedule.

6. Your life's nemesis is at your mercy. But his close family nearby begs for his life. Do you spare him? Or is some other outcome more favorable?
Of course I'd spare him, jail time is preferential over a swift death anyway. Lock him up and throw away the key, but his family get to rest in the knowledge he yet lives.

7. Without describing their job, name, or appearance tell me who you're character is. Former devil worshipper turned freedom fighter and "fiendish" sidekick.

Gonna give people till midnight eastern to get their stuff in then im hutting it down to get through what I got.

Hell’s Rebel’s:
1. What drove you against the current rulership of Kintargo? The murder of my wife and 6 year old child. They were walking home from the market when my daughter was overheard asking why we had to listen to the queen when the queen doesn’t do anything for us. It should have been a simple question that was answered and corrected, asked out of innocence and not malice. Instead they were deemed traitors and executed.
2. What stops you from simply leaving for a better nation like Absalom, Andoran or Varisia? The promise I made to myself to avenge their deaths.
3. A loved one has been captured. You were promised their safe return in exchange for betraying your comrades. What form will your betrayal take? I would have done anything to save my family from their fate. However it would only be after trying every other alternative was attempted that I would consider sacrificing my friends for my family.
4. You are transporting a cartload of contraband in a public street when a pair of bored guards stop you talking about passage fees, potential fines and a requirement to search your cart. What do you do? I dutifully pay the bribe required to let me pass without the need for the search of the cart.
5. Someone you fancy has finally agreed on a day out on the town just you and them. However an important meeting in your organization is being held at the same time and you found out after the date was set. What do you do? I be up front with her and explain that the meeting is important to me. If she is interested in me she would be interested in what I consider important as well.
6. Your lifes nemesis is at your mercy. But his close family nearby begs for his life. Do you spare him? Or is some other outcome more favorable? Since it is the person who killed my wife and daughter I show them no mercy.
7. Without describing their job, name, or appearance tell me who you're character is. He is a caring individual who is driven to grief by the loss of his wife and child. His ambition is the downfall of those in power in Cheliax and isn’t afraid of getting his hands dirty to do so. To that extent he has spent much of his time in training for the day that should the opportunity arise he will seize it.

Hell's Vengeance Questions:

1. What is your opinion of the Order of the Godclaws failure at Isger? My opinion is whatever my father tells me my opinion is. As a dutiful daughter and member of a noble family I know my place in the family. Privately it is an embarrassment.
2. Where do you see yourself in the high echelons of Cheliax's tangled web of government? Being from a noble family I above the riffraff of commoners. Yet my family is not so well off or influential that I can bandy my name about and expect everything to be done immediately for me. Yet with those with patience and cunning there is always a a chance to prove oneself and rise in the courts.
3. You have captured the loved one of a hero. What do you make them do in exchange for their safe return? Will you keep their word or feast on the tears of absolute sadness? Regardless of what action they must perform the result will be the same. I will have increased my power or influence of the hero to a degree that they will owe me some favor in the future. Favors from heroes are the best currency one can have other than a favor from the queen herself.
4. You are transporting a cartload of contraband in a public street when a pair of bored guards stop you talking about passage fees, potential fines and a requirement to search your cart. What do you do? Flatter them, seduce them, bribe them, mention my family name. If all else fails charm them magically.
5. Someone powerful you fancy has invited you into their bedchambers. However there are many unpleasant rumors to the fate of their partners. What do you do? Numb myself to the horrors that may befall me to gather more power and find a way to repay any depredations 10 fold upon them should they scar me.
6. Your life’s nemesis is at your mercy. Give me your villain speech. Tsk tsk. How is it that one so promising as yourself is ensnared so easily? I had such high hopes for you to actually become more than a nuisance. Instead you are just a fly caught in my web for me to feed upon. Pity, I will take my enjoyment out on your family instead. Perhaps they will give me something to smile about as I explain to them in great detail what I did to you and what is in store for them.
7. Without describing their job, name, or appearance tell me who your character is. A young aspiring woman who seeks power above all else and is willing to do what it takes to get it. It is either that or be discarded and cast out from my father’s house.

sample speech:

Kragg sighs with relief at the mention of the villagers having come to some agreement with each other and the leadership. Well even if we are not sure why things changed for the better we can at least appreciate the fact that they have. This doesn’t mean we can relax too much but at least it is not a critical issue that demands our attention immediately. Should something come up then hopefully we are here to witness it and help.
If there is nothing else Ramona I will take my leave of you and go see how everything is coming at Civilization’s Edge. Work should be completed by now and the sailors and crew will likely be hammering for more drinks. Should you need me I will be there.
Kragg heads straight there and let’s Lolito and Alyn take a circuitous route towards the dock. Arriving at his establishment Kragg beams with pride as he sees the smoke rising from the chimney on the new kitchen. True to his words the bar was swamped with sailors while the common room’s tables were holding locals trying out the new food. The tools of the trip through the island and the fight with the hag behind him for now Kragg settled in to the business of owner and operator of the Tavern.
As Alyn and Lolito enter with a stranger Kragg nods his acknowledgment of their arrival and finds them a table as soon as possible. Kragg extends a hand to the new arrival and introduces himself, The name is Kragg Stoneheart. Welcome to Civilization’s Edge. What can I get you to eat or drink? We have roast mutton on the spit, fresh steamed vegetables from the garden, tuna steaks on the grill, and scallops in a garlic butter sauce.

Hells Vengence Questions:

1. What is your opinion of the Order of the Godclaws failure at Isger?
They are complete and utter failures. To not only be defeated by a group of Iomadean knights but then to have that defeat spawn the glorious reclamation, the order should be ashamed and what is left banished from the great nation of Cheliax

2. Where do you see yourself in the high echelons of Cheliax's tangled web of government?
At the bottom. As the child of Iomadae worshipers, I can see myself as one who shouldn't be trusted. However with work, I could see myself move to the top.

3. You have captured the loved one of a hero. What do you make them do in exchange for their safe return? Will you keep their word of feast on the tears of absilute sadness?
I make them bring me the heads of their compatriots. Of course I won't be at the location to meet for verification. I'll have a box left at the location where they are supposed to deliver the heads. And of course we all know what is in the box.

4. You are transporting a cartload of contraband in a public street when a pair of bored guards stop you talking about passage fees, potential fines and a requirement to search your cart. What do you do?
Largely depends. If I am at a point where I have earned rank and privlage, I would assert that rank and demand they applogise for disrespect they have shown me and allow me to go on my way. If it is at a point where I am a no name grunt, then I attempt to intimidate them into letting us pass without incident.

5. Someone powerful you fancy has invited you into their bedchambers. However there are many unpleasant rumors to the fate of their partners. What do you do?
I bed them. Rumors are just that and I am sure I could handle myself if the rumors turned out to be true. The lady I fancy would rue crossing me.

6. Your lifes nemesis is at your mercy. Give me your villain speech.
Successful villains do not give speeches. That is when the hero finds his way to escape and defeat you. You will not catch me monologuing or divulging my plans to the hero.

7. Without describing their job, name, or appearance tell me who your character is.
Vitus is arrogant and cocky. He is overconfident in his skills with a blade and is not afraid to charge straight into combat. His parents were devout Iomadae worshipers. However, when he was born a tiefling, they and the community turned their backs on him. He grew to hate Iomadae and her followers stood for. Vengenace against them is one of his primary motivators.

Balloons and a congratulatory letter?

That's it. All done. Now to start dropping characters off the boat.

Naturally, I'll be vouching for both sides.

Hell's Rebels Questions:

1. What drove you against the current rulership of Kintargo?
Trust me when I say that there are plenty of reasons to not like Thrune's more hands-on approach, but things go deeper than that for me. The fact that there used to be such a thing as Silver Ravens, people who looked after the city, and that their entire legacy had been erased feels like a complete tragedy. Who knows what else the church of Asmodeus has been hiding from us?

2. What stops you from simply leaving for a better nation like Absalom, Andoran or Varisia? Short answer? My parents. They mean well and all, but it feels like they would rather have me stay and run the potions business. I know my whole family is fond of Nethys and all, but I felt that knowledge should be taught to all. I guess that's also why I'm hung up with all of this... redacted history.

3. A loved one has been captured. You were promised their safe return in exchange for betraying your comrades. What form will your betrayal take? I... I don't know actually. I'd have to think of all sorts of scenarios that might occur and what I can do to get out on top. Honestly, I'm not so good under pressure. I'm more likely to blurt out what happened and have them help me out.

4. You are transporting a cartload of contraband in a public street when a pair of bored guards stop you talking about passage fees, potential fines and a requirement to search your cart. What do you do?
I would first try and convince them not to do so by thinking up something that could convince them otherwise. If that doesn't work, I'll find some spell that might help me out in that.

5. Someone you fancy has finally agreed on a day out on the town just you and them. However an important meeting in your organization is being held at the same time and you found out after the date was set. What do you do?
Duty calls then. I doubt I could find someone like that, but if I did I think they would understand.

6. Your lifes nemesis is at your mercy. But his close family nearby bega for his life. Do you spare him? Or ia some other outcome more favorable?I wouldn't kill anyone who had friends like that. Yet I doubt Thrune has someone like that.

7. Without describing their job, name, or appearance tell me who you're character is.I am a female human magus who's a lay member of the Sacred Order of Archivists and I fear being a lay member may have saved my life. Oh, I do hope they're alright.

Hell's Vengeance Questions:

1. What is your opinion of the Order of the Godclaws failure at Isger?
Their problem is that their honor bound tendency to keep to their word cost them. Anyone with brains could have seen that those Iomadeans would never have left the sword in their hands. Just ship it in secret like any normal person would have done.

2. Where do you see yourself in the high echelons of Cheliax's tangled web of government?
Not my cup of tea. Some groups of Norgorber may try to hold positions in secret (I'm not spilling), but as a member of the Blackfingers, potions are my specialty and it does a decent job keeping Asmodeans off my back.

3. You have captured the loved one of a hero. What do you make them do in exchange for their safe return? Will you keep their word of feast on the tears of absilute sadness?
[B]Now that's tricky. Depends on the kind of person you're blackmailing. If they're the noble type, sure. Run with it as longs as you see fit. But if they're not likely to keep their end of the bargain... it's better off just slitting the throat when you have the chance.

4. You are transporting a cartload of contraband in a public street when a pair of bored guards stop you talking about passage fees, potential fines and a requirement to search your cart. What do you do? Depends on the tells I can get from them. Are they susceptible to bribes. Guilable enough for lies or seduction? Or do I need to poison them when they aren't looking. Plenty of ideas.

5. Someone powerful you fancy has invited you into their bedchambers. However there are many unpleasant rumors to the fate of their partners. What do you do?
A tempting offer for sure. But a good Norgorber worshipper always makes sure to do research on your mark. Honestly, it comes down to what I see, but I might be convinced if whatever person is easy on the eyes.

6. Your lifes nemesis is at your mercy. Give me your villain speech.
[B]Eh, speeches are overrated. Just make sure that they're already dead first. And then I will happily gloat on their carcass.

7. Without describing their job, name, or appearance tell me who your character is. I am female human alchemist of Norgorber from Westcrown who for once in my life couldn't resist the opportunity of a getting the good graces of Cheliax.

Right, so I mostly got things sorted out. I'm writing out my thoughts and sleeping on it. I'll have results for everyone when I wake up in the morning.

Pathfinder Adventure Path, Lost Omens, Rulebook Subscriber

Did I miss the submission deadline? If so, good luck to all.

So this was a lot harder than I thought it would be. At first it looked really good for hell’s rebels as the characters felt stronger coming out of it. But as time progressed we actually ended up with more villains making it to the second and third cut than heroes.

The first cut wasn’t too hard. If I couldn’t get a strong visual grasp of who the character was and how they could fall into the story I could be pretty sure interest would wane fairly quickly. I also cut some problematic issues that I don’t want to get into but I’d rather nip those problems in the bud and not try to tell people how to rp. Some were really strong but I didn’t see them having any kind of progression and this was a particular problem with the villains.

In the end I still got more people than I figured I would. So then we move on to more meta type stuff I’m not going to get into. But from there as it was sorted out I tried to imagine the characters actually interacting with one another. And that’s where things got more interesting.

I think one or two ended up being shuffled around because they had almost identical motivations or in some cases personalities. Which is fine, but I have so many different ones to choose and throw into a jar and shake up to make them fight so why not?

So in the end. Rebels won. Sort of. We’ll get into that later.

So I’m picking 6 players. Which is a lot for me but I figure if one or two end up dropping later I don’t have to stop everything to recruit more people halfway through a book, which is awkward at the best of times.

And here we are.

Spoilered for Drama:

Beorn the Divine
Mirror Universe Borgan
Trevor86’s crazed dwarf
Variel
Tiny
Paquen

A nice mix of scheming brains, loudness, and emotional baggage to keep me entertained at any table for a long time. Fun part is a lot of these characters probably have at one point interacted with one another. Kintargo’s a big city but some circles are wider than others.

You’ll note I haven’t put down any classes here. And that’s because at this stage it doesn’t matter that much to me. I figure you guys can work together and knock that part out while I go about doing some actual work rather than pass judgment. So you can make any particular adjustments you want to make so the dottari and the Thrune gang don’t plant their iron shod boots firmly into your backside.

Right, so what about the villains?

Yeah, there were some good ones. And not a small amount either. It took a bit of deeper reading into some as a lot felt samey. I don’t know if it’s the nature of the AP or just the framing of my questions. So a lot of it came down to not what was said but how it was said. Moreover, a lot of characters just felt like NPC’s in that they had some motivation and personality but they didn’t have anything that indicated they were a part of the world proper. Still, there was a really good group there. A mix of cold professionalism and religious zeal that might have just the right amount of conflict to keep it interesting. And a lot of what I wanted can come out in RP regardless. It just needs the right teasing.

So what does this rambling all mean? Well, in a couple of weeks when I get Kintargo all nice and warm in the riot fires I’ll go ahead and start up a vengeance game once I’m in the swing of it and I’m just posting updates to the Rebel’s game. I know a lot of people wanted to get their badguy on, and I like making villains funny in their sheer banality. So here’s the group for that.

Further Drama:

Jerax
Lucien
Alessandra
Draco
Pharice
Falanaiel

You guys will have a slight advantage as you’ll have longer to talk about any changes mechanics wise as this looks like a martial heavy group. I mean there's two paladins of tyranny here but how can I resist watching you two snipe at eachother?

I’ve kept some other characters in reserve so if anyone drops out I can PM them to see if they still want in. In some cases characters got left out purely because I didn’t want to do two games for one player when someone else could have easily had the seat. Not to mention losing one player meant losing two characters. Like Merisiel would’ve been an easy in if I didn’t like Tiny more etc.

In any case I'm going to start getting the campaign together proper so I can light things on fire. And I do thank everyone for participating in this mad experiment. Don't take anything I said too much to heart. Chances are it's just my heavy personal biases more than anything actually done wrong.

As for the rest I'll be putting up a General soon for rebels and I'll contact the bad guys in a week or three about the vengeance game.

Any chance you could make the game and discussion threads for the Vengeance game so that we can start figuring characters/party out? Plus, for folks like me who rely on the Campaigns tab to keep everything straight, it’s so much easier than checking the forums 30+ times a day for updates.

General for Rebels

I'll see about putting up a Vengeance thread later today.

Here's the vengeance thread as requested.

”Ah, excellent! I never doubted that our mission to quell this troublesome rebellion would be allowed to proceed. And with sufficient time to prepare, no less. We will soon turn this Longacre place into another shining example of the glory of Asmodeus and House Thrune.”

This acutally works out great for me, as it should give me time to wrap up the Fangwood Keep PbP game I’m running. Look forward to the game and thank you for including me. I’ll head over and help get the discussion thread started.

Sovereign Court

Thanks TarkXT! Look forward to liberating Cheliax and avenging my family. Heading over to the rebels now

Thank you for consideration.

Alright now, you folks have fun.

Reviving this to open up the call for one more to fill out the rebels group.

Please refer to the original post for initial requirements.

Some exceptions is that you start with 1000gp and level 2. Everything else still applies.

Feel free to read over the current gameplay thread to see the state of Kintargo thus far and get a grasp of the group dynamic. The group itself is hoping for some more divine help as currently they're entirely arcane with a shade of rogue. Helps if they can take/give some punishment. It's not an automatic rejection if you dont build this way but it is a consideration. If you submitted something earlier feel free to point it out and ill consider that the submission.

Since i only need one ill keep this open until next wendesday. I look forward to your submissions.

Well, I have this guy that I created for this campaign a while back, who was added to a group further along that then faded out.

But you don't particularly need a rogue.

Instead of answering the questions, I'll look into building someone more capable of healing.

I really like the background I came up with for Til, though. Obviously, he would need adjusting, regardless. Wrong point buy, wrong level, too much gear, etc. But that background is very specific to the build. Won't work for a healer.

Starting to play with a Milanite Hidden Priest. A bit obvious, I know, but we'll see if the characterization is better than the stock nature.

So to be clear, you have 3 active PC's that I see:

Beorn the Divine (Bard 2, Chelish Diva)
Variel Nightstorm (Magus 2)
Tiny Litsy (U-Rogue 2, Discretion Specialist)

In order of priority, party needs
1) Divine spells

2) Warrior
3) Arcane spells

Hi! Forgive the ignorance, but is this for PF1e or PF2e? I'm still new to Pathfinder and am not familiar with all the APs.

I don't have a character yet that would fit, but I'm happy to make one up!

Ah, with a last post on 19 Aug, I thought the witch had dropped...

Pollux (Witch 2)

Thx! I might hold off on applying then. I played 1st edition once years ago (and I played 3.5e extensively), but I'm jazzed about learning 2e. Also, it looks like you have no shortage of interest. Thanks for your quick reply!

Ok, even though the DM is TarkXT, and the group needs divine, I will TRY to refrain myself from submitting a cleric. Can't promise anything :D

I have an Elf Inquisitor of Calistria that I could adapt to this. Let me see if I can re-make her properly for the game.

I had made Sasha Leonid, Psychic Searcher Streets Oracle, for another Hell's Rebels game that didn't come together. (I'd have to level her down for this but wouldn't need much tweaking.) Loosely based on Sascha the bartender from Casablanca, where they had a nice little resistance movement going by the end even without Rick.

dot. Thinking of a warpriest, probably of Milani but will take a look to see if another deity will be a better fit.

Hey Tark, good to see you again. Are you open to Spheres of Power / Might? Either the classes themselves or as archetypes on Paizo classes?

Not this game. Were it still new id think about it but it's pretty established by this point.

I feel like I would like to try and build a divine inspired, mobile character - a Champion of Irori, or.... an Iroran Paladin.

But I am not even sure how to go about it (never played one), and I am not sure if that is Divine 'enough' so to speak. Will mull it over further :D

I have a halfling oracle (Heavens) that I will write up for you this weekend. She's a devout follower of Desna.

And I have completed my Hidden Priest of Milani.

I give you Kizzy Purrun, up and coming singer, accidental survivor of the Night of Ashes, and dedicated rebel (currently flying solo).

As Clerics go, she's one heck of a Bard! I almost took Diva in Training, but the second trait is a bigger version of the same bonus, so I went with something more useful to the campaign.

I hope the group finds the replacement characters that help you enjoy the game.

Edit:
And I was in such a rush to finish that character, I forgot about your questions and reference work.

Q&A:

1. What drove you against the current rulership of Kintargo?

Tyranny. Abuse. The death of basically everyone I cared about.

2. What stops you from simply leaving for a better nation like Absalom, Andoran or Varisia?

This is home. This is where I want to make my mark as a performer. Plus, there's that whole angle about Milani never forgiving me if I abandoned my own community to this tyrannical government.

3. A loved one has been captured. You were promised their safe return in exchange for betraying your comrades. What form will your betrayal take?

After quite a bit of struggle, I will probably reveal the location of a safe house, dooming any who happened to be there when it is raided, probably before the loved one is freed.

4. You are transporting a cartload of contraband in a public street when a pair of bored guards stop you talking about passage fees, potential fines and a requirement to search your cart. What do you do?

Tyr to turn it into an impromptu publicity stop. Short performance, discussion about the musical scene and hopefully getting concerts started back up, maybe some signatures and pecks on the cheek, followed by a quick discussion of how great it is to be able to save these props for future performances . . . .

5. Someone you fancy has finally agreed on a day out on the town just you and them. However an important meeting in your organization is being held at the same time and you found out after the date was set. What do you do?

Well, since the meeting was OBVIOUSLY scheduled second, try to get it rescheduled. Even move it up to prove my dedication despite the conflict. If I can't move the meeting, though, then I will have to apologize profusely and try to reschedule the date.

6. Your lifes nemesis is at your mercy. But his close family nearby bega for his life. Do you spare him? Or ia some other outcome more favorable?

NOT killing is always preferable. Doesn't always feel that way, but that's a different problem. Depending on my resources at the time, and theirs, there are a WIDE range of possibilities. Imprisoned for life is spared. Cut the individual's Achilles tendon, somehow incapacitate the individual's vocal chords, put a big warning tattoo across her face identifying why she should never be trusted, etc. Potentially, the loved ones could purchase his freedom with a substantial (based on their resources) donation towards rebuilding the performance community in Kintargo. This would be in addition to the other items, of course. Her ability to do more harm would have to be reduced as part of the bid for freedom.

7. Without describing their job, name, or appearance tell me who you're character is.

I lifted the description of Kizzy's voice directly from a write-up about Stevie Nicks. Yeah, not a lot of imagination on my part for hat bit. <shrug>

Kizzy is hope incarnate. She ignores the odds in favor of what feels right. She encourages others to reach, to stretch, to do and be more than they already are. Pursuing her talent (with help) has given her the impression that these things are easier for people than they really are.

Now, let me find some of my favorite IC posts . . ..

A Discussion thread used as part of the recruitment, actually. I was Gudada. Better stuff on page 2 and 3.

More fun with the same character in a different game.

Yes, those are both old. Some of the work I'm happiest with was done under that alias.

I actually spent time looking up Roma traditions and attitudes and could base much of his street work on what I've seen at Faire.

For something more current, here's work I've done as Ioney Dragi in a current game.

Kizzy won't be as easy for me to work with, sadly, but I think I have a couple of good hooks with her dedication to her craft and desire to see to the liberation of those around her.

Note: JUST missed the edit window to add the second link to the above post.

Edit: I also ran a PFS character for a while that was a LOT of work, and quite silly. Pyromanic Gnome Elemental Fire Sorcerer who called himself "The Great Swarmholio." Yes, I based him on "The Great Cornholio." "I need tindertwigs for my bunghole." Yeah, burning hands was a lit fart kinda stuff. EXTREMELY silly character that was amazingly effective in combat, actually. But I never used him at a table where any of the other players didn't give consent.

Quote:

Beorn the Divine (Bard (Chelish Diva) 2, Diva in Training)

Variel Nightstorm (Magus (Base?) 2, Natural Born Leader)
Tiny Litsy (U-Rogue (Discretion Specialist) 2, Natural Born Leader)
Pollux (Witch (Base?) 2, Urban Slueth - Devil's Bells) - EVIL

Lots and lots of Arcane, there, with some reasonable healing potential, honestly. Though from Pollux's write-up, I can't see the Witch taking healing spells.

I'm really not sure if they need a healer or a wall more. They could clearly use both.

Healer is what was requested, though, and what I've tried to provide. As lightly armored as she is, there's no hope for her to fulfill duties as a wall.

Submissions that I see so far:

Sasha Leonid (Streets Mystery Oracle (Psychic Searcher) 2, Star Struck)
Kizzy Purrun (Cleric (Hidden Priest [Bard]) of Milani 2, Historian of the Rebellion)

But it is early on Sunday and the GM said he would keep applications open through Wednesday, so plenty of time for others to submit before then.

The fact that Pollux is CE is kind of unfortunate; I keep thinking Paladin build for the requirements, but starting a war in the party isn't going to get you selected...

pad300 wrote:

It makes me stop and ask myself questions. His write-up is about anger, not evil. I'm not sure the alignment as stated reflects what the alignment means in the game engine.

Honestly, that's the only reason I haven't completely withdrawn from consideration. I tend to believe people when they say they are playing evil characters. I refuse to play in a game where evil behavior is acceptable PC behavior.

And typing that in place has settled it for me.

I'm out. Withdraw Kizzy Purrun from consideration. I don't want to punish the group by walking away after I find out he really is playing an evil character, but I won't stay in the game if I do. Safer just to prevent the possibility.

Okay, I'm thinking a Warpriest (Liberty's Blade) of Milani.

If this is still open, I would like to throw together a warpriest. Got to figure out the deity and race. :)

Should have something up by tomorrow.

Question, I keep seeing it referenced, but don't know what it is.
Elephant in the room ??

My work computer blocks links, so if someone could please explain it
