Core Helms ! Wizards Wanted Gameday X

Nat 20!

With devastating efficiency Ejtehah rips new eye holes into the mask and face of the Decemvirate member. The man drops to the ground!

Core Helms ! Wizards Wanted Gameday X

Correction Ejtehah dropped the antlered helm, not eyeless mask.

Jessenia steps across the debris and drops a nogachi into the yellow decemvirate. The nogachi strikes true and the man with the eyeless ask also drops.

Jesseniabot: 1d20 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 6 + 2 = 15, nogachi: 1d10 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10

The dwarven woman steps away from Chalmers and casts a spell again. Their is a brief song of arcane magic followed again by the clashing of cymbols.

Core Helms ! Wizards Wanted Gameday X

NAT 20!

The shifter rips into the dwarf with the blessing of Lythertida. Kurik drops the power of Sarenrae and a giant sword on the woman in the domino mask. Chalmers offers the soothing charm of Pharasma to delay the meeting between her and Kurik. Jessenia, possessed by some otherworldly entity of her own, lowers the large blade and runs the woman through.*

*Technically she is confused, but I was botting and this is a better story. Any one of those attacks would have finished the cowardly Veldrid. I will let you decide who did get the final blow! :)

The dwarven woman's body, like the two others, begins to fade. Their bodies seems to stream away into the mist, drawn in and slowly disintegrates.

Elysia turns her tealed head toward the Pathfinders. “That went... differently this time; I like this ending better,” before fading from view. As she does, the mists swirl and unswirl. As mists move back, there is a flash of insight into the past’s true events: they see an injured Zaul fleeing the battle, abandoning the others as he disappears into the strange mist swirling around the library. Only one of Eylysia’s companions remains visible.

Her remaining companion, the gnome wizard Fimbrik the Illusionist, sends a crackle of spell energy at Veldrid that drops the masked dwarf to the ground where she disintegrates into motes of color that the unstable magic quickly devours. A badly wounded Helven points his blade at Eylysia and stalks towards the defiant gnome woman.

“Your secrets cannot remain hidden forever!” Eylysia cries, before tapping a foot on the ground and vanishing. The broken strands of magical mist explode in a whirlwind of rainbow light as Eylysia’s vision concludes and the battered old spell finally ends.

As the spell ends and the visions disappear, the party finds themselves back in the present. Shaine and the Decemvirate stand staring at he party.
"What happened? Did it work? Shaine asks.

It seems it did work, and that Elysia's companions were not able to overcome those who wished to keep the secrets from coming out. Eylysia appeared to have been overwhelmed by their foes originally, and bound the secrets into this spell to be uncovered later. Chalmers offers up, not entirely sure what just happened...

No response comes back on two. Not 'no evil' but 'no response.' As if they are invisible and detect evil is vision. Shane does not register as evil, but he at least can be sensed. (In Eylisa's time they were not, but now Decemvirate Helms are artifact level anti-detection items. Hence the same voice and consequently the title of the scenario. :)

"It seems I can't get any vibe from you. But at least I know now I can still trust VC Shaine - and it seems he trusts you. That's good enough for me."

Kurik clears his throat.

"Ahem. We were in Eylysia's and her companions memories. They were facing off against three masked members of the Decemvirate that were trying to kill them for what they uncovered. The name Veldrid was mentioned as being the bad guy..."

He continues to relay the whole story.

Core Helms ! Wizards Wanted Gameday X

On hearing the story the two masked Decemvirate members turn towards each other as though sharing a silent conversation. In the strangely neutral voices produced through the magic of the masks, one member of the Decemvirate tells the party “These secrets have remained hidden for too long—from the Decemvirate and the Society both. In doing so, the organization defamed an upstanding agent. What we have learned here grants us an opportunity to correct past crimes."
The second nods "Well done, Pathfinders.”

As the two masked figures turn and exit the library, Kreighton Shaine thanks the Pathfinders for their excellent work he does not have to think too long to complete the names Kurik offers "Zaul Blystone (antlered helm), Helven Leroung (eyeless mask), and Veldrid Goldburough (domino mask). and says "The Society will soon have more tasks for you."
