Afaik, it's just an alias.
The only difference i am aware of, would be registering for 1e or 2e, for the purpose of PFS.

Daniel Cedric |

Daniel would wait for the additional healing, even if he had to delay. He knows he would likely just be a burden if he chased in such a weakened condition.

GM Chyro |

As you spent round 1 taking the dagger, yes, Serena's 1st channel will have included you.

Astella |

Yeah, regarding registering... no need with these characters since this isn't Pathfinder Society.
As far as the chase goes though, I started running on the same round as the bad guy, so I'm not sure why I am 70 feet behind him. I don't think I was that far from him on the regular map. Just because I am reacting to his run so I can't predict as well or something?

GM Chyro |

Astella, it is your turn for a check to chase Sal.

GM Chyro |

Daniel & Estelle, for keeping pace, make a block of rolls for the checks, and i'll compile the post tomorrow.

I didn't know if we were keeping character sheets on the site or if you were keeping them on your computer.
My PC is ready I just need to know where to post him. :)

Top right drop down. My account, then account settings. This will let you make new profiles. You can make a profile for this character with a picture of choice. By posting in gameplay with that character, it becomes default for this game

If you're talking about the 'Organized Play' section, that's what I was asking about and if we were using PF1, SF, or PF2.

GM Chyro |

Not organized play. Just the usual create alias, as you choose between PFS and simple board alias.
To your question on character sheet, i'm used to it on profile, but links to mythweaver sheets, like Daniel has, works as well.
Any ideas for the questions?

GM Chyro |

In recruitment there were a few questions regarding the PC, at the recruitment post.
Questions
1) What did you do during the conflict?
2) Name one specific person from your past, you have lost contact with during the conflict.
3) Quirks to be aware of?
4) What unsettles your PC?
5) Particular goals in life?

Jairus |

1) Assisted in the fight along with the other wizards of Bracada.
2) Ignatius the Wise, his teacher and mentor, assumed to have died during the War.
3) He's fastidious to the point where he can't stand to be dirty (even if he's the only one who can see the dirt).
4) Swarms. And the strife between AvLee and Erathia.
5) To become a more learned and capable wizard, protect his people, assist his nation.

Estelle the Stray |

Enlarge person would be great on either frontliner, i believe. It gives Daniel reach 10 feet with his sword and a lot more damage + enemies that want to attack him from 5 ft distance now provoke an attack of oppetunity from his weapon.
It's very good on Estelle too. She has a reach weapon equipped, and given how enlarging people with reach weapons work that gives her 20 ft reach. She has combat reflexes too.

GM Chyro |

Reach extends to 15 ft if large.
Unless feats.

Darn, and those are inlaid and plated with pure gold. A shame.

True, genuine Calvin Klein, fantasy version.

Estelle the Stray |

Assuming we survive the trip back to the town (You never know!), what should we buy with the current gold and the stuff we can sell? Sal alone has roughly a thousand gold of sell value on him.
A wand of cure light wounds if they exist in this word? Better armor for Daniel/Estelle and better bows for the others? Something else?

Astella |

We need a bow for the scavenger hunt anyway, and all I have right now for a long range weapon is a crappy sling, so I definitely vote for weapons. Being able to fight is obviously necessary at this point.
However, I think we need to split the gold so people can buy whatever they want, after we get the required scavenger hunt item out of the way. ... And actually, if anyone has a hat to sell that would also be high on the list, and be a group item to buy, but no idea about that one.

Estelle the Stray |

You mean the wealthy hat? I remember Sally saying there was a crashed ship somewhere that supposedly had nobles on board. I think that might be (intended as?) the only place we can find wealthy hats. But I might be wrong, of course!

Daniel Cedric |

Just to say, the +1 chainshirt is a +2 increase to Daniels AC. And is probably better than refurbishing his broken breastplate atm, unless we could afford to enchant it.
I'd be willing to hand my "share" of the gold to whoever if I could grab that armor. After its been thoroughly cleaned of course.

Estelle the Stray |

Well, since we're both fighters, selling the magic armor for 550 g is enough to buy 2 banded mails. That's a +2 increase for Estelle and a +1 increase for you over the chain shirt as it is. Though it does have a much higher ACP than your current armor. Actually, you could simply buy a new breastplate instead for 200 g too unless you want to stick to repairing the old for the flavor factor. Same AC for you, lower ACP and it's slightly cheaper.
With the current MW shortswords, 310 g to sell both of them added to the 330 ish gold in the bank leaves us with 640. That's enough to buy a +1 str mod max composite longbow for astella and +2 max str mod longbow for brunhilde, sans masterwork, buy a third longbow for the contest and have a decent amount of money left over (4 scrolls of cure light for the other 100
which leaves spare change?)
Though we might get more if we manage to actually sell the spare tiles and assorted junkish items from the temple, or found the person who knows about that pendant in town.

Brunhild Blackarrow |

Brunhild would love an actual bow. Doing 1d6 damage when she could be doing 1d8+2 is rough.

Daniel Cedric |

aside from ACP, breastplate would also lower my move speed to 20, which IDK if that was accounted for in the chase or not. Not to large a problem normally, but its there.
don't be like me and forget we have a MwK dagger for another 150g, the potions of resistance/stabilize, and endure elements are another 50g, which on top of the gold we have already in coin form, its about 615g.
the +1 and +2 longbows would cost 500 in total, another base longbow 75.
However, if both settled for shortbows for now, the cost would drop to 375 I think, (composite shortbows cost 75g per str rating on top of the base) Its not perfect, but 1d6 vs 1d8 isn't a large deal, and the range difference may or may not come up. That also leaves ~240g left over, before selling old weapon/armor to buy the required bow, and you armor. Which we might could eek out.

GM Chyro |

The town size is Hamlet category. Just over de minimum required for it to be called such.

Astella |

I still think we should split up the money evenly after buying the party item. No offense, but I don't want someone else deciding for me what bow I should buy. I want some money and the ability to make that decision myself.
(I don't know if there are any hats available for sale either, but we've already seen multiple ways to get red potions, musical instruments, and even tiles, so it is possible.)

Estelle the Stray |

Fair enough. I think we could all really use better gear. Especially with the very limited starting budget. And no one really knows how to spend it better than people themselves.

GM Chyro |

I think this is one of those moments, where Matt Mercer/ Mark Hulmes, just sits back and the players are busy planning stuff.
Especially with the very limited starting budge
Could be worse. You start in a prison cell with nothing at all.

Daniel Cedric |

I was only making suggestions.

Estelle the Stray |

True. And it was more an observation and not meant as judgmental. For fighters, 75 gp is +/- 40% of their average starting wealth. You have to cut corners and any wealth to spend on upgrades is very welcome :)

Estelle the Stray |

Hmm... personally I believe we should sell it and get everyone better armor or weapons now rather than later. We need to survive to get there.
Astella/Brunhild, what do you think we should do? We have a +1 chain shirt armor, a MW dagger and 2 MW shortswords as our main 'wealth' items along with around 330 gold, excluding the other stuff we found in the temple.

Astella |

I'm fine with someone claiming it right now. I like the idea of using what we have, as long as it still belongs to the party so when it is sold, the money goes to everyone. Better than buying equipment that we're just going to have to bail soon anyway, and I've always hated the idea of selling useful things just to cash it out, but that's me.
It can be frustrating, but I actually kind of like the way Starfinder does it, only giving you 10% of purchase cost... it encourages you to use what you have rather than selling everything for scrap.
I feel like we're creative enough that we'll be able to get more money soon in whatever way.

GM Chyro |

In RPG games, i too often go with what gear i find or get as reward.
Money has tendency to evaporate if you try keeping updated on the best items, and then when you need to stock up on misc/heal items, that moth comes flying out of your wallet.

Jairus |

Apologies for the delay in posting but my modem died and my ISP literally has almost no one who could actually get the new one working. Hopefully now that it's working it will keep working but, if my history with them is any indication, this isn't the last of my issues.
You do not know how f#@*&$&$ enraged I am right now.

GM Chyro |

Imagine the first monster you fireball into oblivion is your ISP.

Estelle the Stray |

Haha! Sorry to hear that. Hope it keeps working.
To pick up on the gm's question, what are we going to do after we finish eating? Personally, i'd like to see if Astella had some luck selling excess tiles and buy some new equipment/supplies for tomorrow. And if there is a temple of sorts, I'll probably go offer a prayer/donation to Shaymara.

GM Chyro |

There is a chapel in town. Styled in Erathian architecture, but no images indicating it is to a specific worship. Thus applicable for all.
Markham is bit of a flexible man.

Astella |

Buying whatever supplies we can is a good idea. We should buy the bow for the scavenger hunt and turn that in too, I think.

Daniel Cedric |

speaking of, what was the final verdict and selling/buying things?

GM Chyro |

Indeed.
What do you want to sell?
And as per earlier mention, i take it the funds will be devided among you?

Estelle the Stray |

Personally, I am still in favor of selling all of Sal's gear (possibly the masterwork dagger too) and the potions of stabilize/endure elements/resistance.
That's... 1110 gold, added to the 310 = 1420, -75 for the contest longbow. 1345/4 = 340-ish each excluding what we might get for selling the tiles. Or, enough to buy a MW weapon of choice for everyone, to name one option. We could also pool money to buy some great items now. Like a masterwork composite longbow with +2 str max for brunhild or such. Or the wand of cure light wounds.
Normally, I'd agree with the philosophy of using the items that you find on the way. However, we're at level 1, where combat is extremely swingy, and underequipped. I think it's more important to get everyone the basic necessities first and do it asap (bows for the archers, better armor for the frontline, and/or weapons able to do other types of damage). We'd miss out on like... a few hundred gold in the long run assuming we'd actually use the MW shortswords/daggers. However, if that raises my ac by 2 right now along with our ranged characters dealing like +100 to +200 % extra damage I'd consider that a very good tradeoff/investment.
That said, it would also help in deciding what to sell if we said what we wanted to buy, so we could figure out how much gold we need.
A banded armor for me would cost 250 g, -30 from selling my old armor = 220. Something like a coldiron Bardiche (adds both coldiron and slashing to my available damage types) and some javelins (for a ranged weapon) would cost 20 ish more gold. That would leave me with 100-ish spare. I'd be willing to donate a portion of my gold to Brunhild or Astella if it helps them get good weapons.
Edit: updated calculations as I forgot the sell price for the MW dagger.

GM Chyro |

This hamlet is but around 25 people, their inventory is not so great to accommodate all those mwk and cold iron purchases in one go.
Special material weapons are for sale on the continent itself.
The smith could craft a single mwk weapon every so often, but will be busy a fair chunk of the day.

Daniel Cedric |

I'll be fully honest here, I understand how crappy it can be to play a character with +0/+1 damage per hit. My gunslinger in Iron gods had +1 from PBS until level 5. and Honestly, it wasn't -that- big of an issue.
That said, +1 damage isn't a big deal, +2 is, slightly a bigger deal.
As it stands, if they rolled a 1 on the damage die, thats as you said, a 100 or 200 % increase. However, that is an error since the actual effect is not the same. It certainly will make a difference, but the largest bits of damage for a decent while for any of us are coming from the damage die (you excluded, you two-handed power gamer you)
That said, I am emphatically against buy a masterwork anything at this time. I still say we keep and make use of the chain shirt, but I won't fuss if people decide against that course. Since a breastplate would still be a positive AC gain (+3 vs +2) Just lower my mobility. (-4 ACP instead of -1, 20ft speed instead of 30ft) I value the mobility more than 1 AC, but, its a close trade.
we can just give everyone 340 each to do with as they please, but, I want to present a couple suggestions
- How do we deal with swarms? We have 1 person with actual class abilities to be able to. Even then its a highly limited resource to do so. Otherwise... I don't see alot of splash weapons.
- healing, we have one (1) character that can heal. Who already have a limited spell slots and spell list. Perhaps a couple scrolls of Cure wounds would be good to grab. Or, we can hope to be able to make more of the red potions.

GM Chyro |

Question 1: There is an alchemist shop.
Question 2: As per crafting a potion, with suitable materials at hand. You're looking at a fire, pot or similar, and empty flasks, plus the berries, and a check.

Daniel Cedric |

that was more along the lines of saying "hey, don't spend all your gold on shiny shiny weapons and armor, remember to prepare for X"
Rather than actual questions of how :3

Brunhild Blackarrow |

I’m ok being a marshmallow shooter for now. +1 hit and 1d6 damage? It builds character. I just don’t want to get derailed by something as mundane as loot.

Astella |

Let's get the bow and split for 340(ish) each and worry about buying wands and bigger items and worrying about swarms until we actually have moved up to some normal gear.
