Kippi and Rilynn both slam the creature with laser and fiery orbs of death but it still holds tight to madrigal

Kippi flies up even higher, firing down at the persistent zrulicat.

Madrigal joins the others in hand-to-hand combat against the fearsome beast!

Yippee does indeed manage to hit the cat and liftt also manages to stab his target However Kippi finds the height makes the cat look smaller and she misses The big cat is badly wounded but still looks calpable of one last attack

Rilynn recoils from the scathing rebuke of the big cat, then wields her knife and launches back into the fray.

Max tries again to hit the cat before it does any more damage to his companions.

Rilynn winces in pain as the tail rakes across her abdomen, but there's a small sense of relief that the cat's death throes mean the area is secure, for now.

She limps over to the laboratory computer terminal and proceeds to hack into Nrall's journals and any information that would lead the group to the insidious enterprise that has funded - and then abruptly terminated - these hideous experiments.

Madrigal slumps to the floor, bleeding from massive wounds, her last words "It was all a set-up . . ."

Kippi gasps in horror as Madrigal is torn apart moments before the group can finish off the zrulicat. She flaps back down to the ground and settles on Madrigal's body, trying to check for a pulse without knowing the first thing about lashunta anatomy. "Oh no! What do we do? What do we do?"

With the fighting over and Madrigal not getting back up, she solemnly goes over to talk to (and release) the dromada - in hopes that one of them might be skilled at medicine.

Medicine: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16
Yippee takes a look at the wounds, but shakes his head sadly.

"Not sure there is much that can be done," Yippee says sourly as he pulls his hood back off his head. "I will certainly have a drink to salute our fallen comrade.

Lifft turns to one corner and violently throws up.

"Oh no! I thought I had left all this behind after escaping from the Scoured Stars." he moans, shaking on the spot.

Kippi visibly wilts, her wings drooping until she's settled on the floor. "This is because I wasn't taking things seriously again... It's my fault." She shakes her feelers "But we've got to bring her home. And the dromada home too."

"It just, feels like it wasn't worth it."

Rilynn, trying to be both upbeat and practical, moves to console her teammates. "Madrigal was alive, which means death is not permanent. We'll take her back with us, of course, but there will be no funeral for her. We'll see her again soon."

She goes back to her task at the computer terminal, hiding tears from the others.

The party free the Dromada who gather round the fallen Starfinder. They let out a mournful howl and stomp then pick up Madrigals body to return it to the camp

You are all made honary members of the Star treader herd and the four dromada are eager to join the starfinder society under the name madrigal

You find some information from Naralls logs She initially btook the job as an easy pay day at first but became obsessed with all the secrecy

Kippi joins in with the ceremonies for Madrigal - both among the dromada and then again back at Absalom Station with the Starfinder Society. She encourages the rest of the group to join her, speaking up at the final ceremony "We knew Madrigal only for a short while, but she was really brave and clever, and she would have wanted us to keep paranoid about traps, and conspiracies and things." She trails off, pensive for a minute before adding "I'm going to take that to heart! Let's all remember this so we can bring everyone back safe next time!"
