Nighttail kicks a few of the deer bones around. "It looks like they've been feeding you at least."

Nighttail chuckles at Ilvaria's comment. "You folks really don't know much about kobolds if you thought I'd be leading the charge into battle. Besides, when Chief Roaghuz is gone someone is going to have to lead this tribe and there will be a lot more goodwill for me if I don't get a reputation for stabbing my own people. But don't worry, I can pull my own weight if I need to."

Nighttail's tactics are to hang back and let the party do the fighting. Since she is kind of hardwired to be a coward, it will take a full round action every round to convince her to act against her nature.

Irlana takes a moment or two to get over the shock of seeing the dinosaur, but then accepts it. "We aren't expecting you to kill your own people. But you will seem more like a leader if you are with us when Chief Roaghuz is killed. If you run from the fight how will your people possibly see you as a leader? You won't be there to step up and take the leadership position!?!"

Nighttail sighs and says "It's straight ahead. There's a long tunnel, then a room with a straw covered floor. There's a trip wire there. You're probably best off just walking over it. Then you have to climb down a rope to the next level. And down there you're probably going to be fighting more guards. They'll be expecting us."

What Nighttail says appears to be true. After going down a long tunnel, it opens up into a small room with a straw covered floor. She points out where the trip wire is and it is easy enough to just step over. Past the trip wire is a five foot wide pit with a knotted rope leading down.

A PC can try to disarm it, but if you fail by 5 or more that sets it off, putting them at risk of getting harmed. The climb check for the rope is DC 5, so everyone should be able to clamber down by taking 10. The scenario doesn't mention Hak having any problem with this, so I assume you're able to figure out some way to get Tanssi down as well.

Suizal nods at Nighttail. "Thank you, Nighttail. You're a delight to be around.". The sylph follows the others down the hall, stepping over the trip wire, and climbing down the rope ladder as carefully as she can.

The ground below is only about ten feet down but due to the small size of the hole not much of the room can be seen from up above.

Suizal climbs down the rope and finds herself in a small room with a low ceiling like most of the stronghold has had. There are two murky pools at the end of the room. There is a narrow tunnel between the two pools that appears to be the only way out of the room.

Suizal hears a voice cry out from a room beyond the tunnel in Draconic, "I can hear them! Get the snappers ready!"

Dismounting Tanssi, Andwise carefully heads down the rope. Once he is sure that the tunnel is only 10 feet, he simply encourages Tanssi to jump down.

As the sounds echo from further down the tunnel, Andwise nods to Tanssi encouraging them to move back to the front of the party.

The party all gets down the rope without incident, finding themselves in the small chamber with the two pools. When the party shines a light into the murky water, they can see that it is filled with tiny, writhing little creatures.

"These are the snacking pools. The tribe has been trying to breed frogs so that we can have another source of meat," Nighttail comments. "These tadpoles aren't doing so great, though."

"I don't know...I wasn't the person in charge of the tadpoles' diet," she snaps, sounding annoyed. "I never liked eating frogs anyways. Hak and I prefer venison."

The tunnel up ahead turns to the right and a quick look ahead shows that after the turn it appears that the tunnel has been filled with debris, making it hard to cross through.

All the areas with rubble are difficult terrain.

Tansii moves down the narrow hallway. He can see that the tunnel up ahead is filled with rocks and debris, but opens up into a bigger room after about 20 feet. Tanssi can also see what looks like a pool of water in the chamber.

Irlana stays close to Sir Falcon, wondering if they should have left this kobold "ally" tied up. When they found the chief, would he turn against them immediately to try and get in better graces with the chief? Or would he wait and only turn against them if the fight went bad? Probably the latter....

The party packs into the narrow, low ceiled passageway, with Tanssi in the front. They don't spot any traps, but Tanssi then sees a pair of kobolds on the other side of the pond. They let out a shout and ready their slings to fire on the party.

There are three squares of difficult terrain south of Tanssi's current position, so please factor that in when moving. Also, mage armor should still be active at this point.

Irlana hears a soft dragging noise coming from the room up ahead, and thinks that there might be other enemies in the room that she can't see.

The two kobolds on the other side of the water sling rocks at Irlana. One rock bounces off the wall about a foot above her head and her armor protects her from taking any damage from the other missile. The last turtle dives down into the water.

As soon as Tanssi steps out into the open they see a pair of kobolds who were hiding around the corners, out of view of the party. Each of them are wielding polearms with long hooked blades. One of them is still flat-footed but the other is ready and swings their weapon at the eidolon's legs. Tanssi easily steps over the weapon and keeps moving.

The scraping sound was from the handles of their guisarmes dragging on the ground, but being around a corner there was no way to see them. Tanssi can retrocon their move if they'd like and direct their attack at one of the guisarme wielders.

She lobs a bolt of cold towards the blue one. "You deserve this!"

Wow! That's exactly what they needed to succeed.

As Tanssi leaps towards the kobold it makes one last effort to trip the eidolon before getting mauled to death. And not with skill but sheer dumb luck the guisarme hooks around the eidolon's legs and Tanssi falls over. But not only does Tanssi fall down, but they find themselves sliding down the slanted embankment and into the water, where they land with a splash.

Suizal and Ilvaria both fire off blasts, but miss their targets.

Not to be difficult, but two additional scenarios to consider. #1 Could Tanssi have acrobatics the last 5 feet? Also, does the 20% miss chance apply to the trip as well as the strikes?

Tanssi, I'll let you roll your miss chance, but if you want to use Acrobatics to avoid the attack entirely then you'll have to let me save that natural 20 for another point in the scenario.

I'll take the 20 here then. I didn't think about the AoO when I approached red (assumed the attack was the AoO) so I should have been more aware to roll the acrobatics at the time

Tanssi would have had to take a swim, if the kobold's hooked polearm actually went where the eidolon's legs were. Tanssi continues forward and bites the kobold in the neck.

Botting Sir Falcon!

Sir Falcon pushes through the tunnel and over the rubble to get into the face of the other kobold. Double move With a yelp, the kobold steps back and jabs at the samurai's legs with their guisarme. The kobold almost pulls Sir Falcon off his feet, but the bigger, faster warrior manages to keep on his feet.

Annoyed at being in a bottle-neck Irlana carefully moves forward and around the corner. She finds a spot in the corner and sets her back to the wall to assess the situation, and reload her crossbow.

20' move but through 2 people and whatever other hazards. (dead body?) I assume that would be a double-careful move? She saw the trip attempts so she would be watching for more.

There is 15 feet of difficult terrain in the hallway, but that is the only thing restricting your movement right now. And the ceiling are still super low, so there is that -2 to attack rolls for Medium sized creatures.

Irlana moves into position, as does Nighttail and Hak. "Agh! They blocked this tunnel off with rubble! It wasn't like this before, I promise," the kobold says as her dinosaur climbs over the debris.

Two of the turtles emerge from the water and snap at Sir Falcon's heels. Neither turtle manages to get through his thick boots, though.

They are Tiny creatures, so they provoke AoO from him as they enter his space.

One of the kobolds fires another stone at Irlana. The rock grazes her hand and bounces off, which is painful but far from deadly. The one who was wounded by a cantrip fires their bullet, then turns and flees down a hallway.

Tansii gets an AoO because its Tiny and has no reach, but failing to kill the turtle means that the eidolon will take 1 point of damage.

Suizal moves further in to the room and points at the kobold across the little pond. "You there! Stop this instant!". Knowing the kobold wont stop, she'll fling a ball of frost at it.
