PFS # 133608
PFS Sessiontracker shows all of the scenarios I've played in.
(I'm awake between 8 am to 10 pm EDT (UTC-4 hours) so roughly 1300 to 0300 hours, GMT.)
Howdy. If you're a member of one of my games, then here are a few rules I'd like you to follow:
PFS 2E rules
1. Please post at least once a day. If you are absent for 24 hours I'll send you a PM. If you're missing for 36 hours I'll mark you inactive and your Player Character will simply delay - that's not fun!
2. Under your name, please add a stat block, so I can quickly find your stats and keep the game moving. You can edit your character's Race, Class/Levels and Gender fields to include information such as:
- Hit Points
- AC
- Saving Throws
- Perception Bonus
3. What about Secret Rolls? PFS 2nd ed has a lot of secret rolls the GM is supposed to make for the players, so the PCs can't react to a bad roll. If I give you the DC, feel free to make the roll openly. Otherwise, there are 2 ways to do this in my games:
- You can say which skill and which bonus you want to apply. (Example: "I use Occultism +5 to investigate the skull's mystic origin.")
- Or you spoiler your dice roll and everyone sticks to the honor system of not opening it.
If you haven't added Pathfinder specific equipment, I suggest you look at the PFS 2 Society rules, in particular the Pathfinder Training section.
Once you have your character selected, please post this information:
Player name: (OPTIONAL. you, the person on Earth)
Character name: (the PC you are playing in Golarion)
XP:
Class:
Money: (usually written in GP)
Leveling Speed: (Normal or Slow?)
PFS number: (It should look something like 133608-2001.)
Day Job: (feel free to roll it. Also mention any feats that may impact your job roll.)
Perception Bonus:
Faction:
PFS School Items: (Optional, depends on which school you joined)
Slotted Boons: (Optional, you can determine this after the mission briefing)

Player name: rainzax
Character name: Briney the Younger
XP: 27
Class: Investigator (Science!) / Alchemist 3
Money: 20 gold, 5 silver, 8 copper (Briney saves up for Alchemist Goggles!)
Leveling Speed: Normal
PFS number: 2366390-2010
Day Job: Briney makes big batch of "Briney Special" (see below)
Perception Bonus: +6 w/ Darkvision
Faction: Envoy's Alliance
PFS School Items: Field Agent
Achievement Boons: Crafter's Workshop
Chronicle Boons: Big Game Hunter, Traveler of the Spirit Road
...
Briney spends a few days collecting drowned bugs from the puddles of his home block. He pulls off their wings and grinds their guts in mortar and pestle.
Briney supplies the 20 gold in raw materials for the Batch (x4)
He begins stirring in other chemicals, including a pile of finger nails he has chewed off and saved, some powered bone he collected from Minkai, a mystery run-off fluid from a local factory by his family flat, and some bottles he acquired legally from the apothecary down the street.
Craft Batch Moderate Acid Flask (Task 3) w/ Expanded Alchemist Lab @ Field Agent w/ Crafter's Workshop vs DC 18: 1d20 + 11 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 11 + 1 = 30
Delighted with his initial progress, he realizes he needs to add an accelerant, and spends the day at the lodge "borrowing" various flammables from his colleagues in exchange for some of his patented miniature "lion" (mouse) traps (which they always appreciate his ingenuity in having constructed by hand), and gets back to work.
Craft Batch Moderate Acid Flask (Task 3) w/ Expanded Alchemist Lab @ Field Agent w/ Crafter's Workshop vs DC 18: 1d20 + 11 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 11 + 1 = 25
Eureka! Briney spends the next [X] days continuing to refine his "Briney Special" recipe, bottling it into pink-stained glass tubers...
Players, looking for assistance navigating the tail end of the Crafting rules. Briney has purchased the raw materials, and his "Crafter's Workshop" Boon let's him spend one day instead of four preparing (text for Boon below), and after critically succeeding his first check, succeeds again. As a Field Agent, does this mean I apply the Critical Success Rate (8sp/day) for the first 8 days, then apply the Success Rate (5sp/day) for the last 3 days? Or do I need to roll a third time (or only once?) Cheers!
Your friends in the Envoy’s Alliance share crafting materials and collaborate to create new items more efficiently. You only need to spend 1 day of downtime before attempting your skill check and subsequently beginning to reduce the item’s effective cost.

Yo.
I thought the boon thing got changed, are people still required to slot boons?
In general, posting your Boons helps GM to prep and run game, and gives players an opportunity to remember them.

Had a very worried moment there that I had accidentally hit the wrong link, but it would seem my choice of what character to being to this table is much easier. We have an investigator already and Ogren has played with Briney in the past!
Also it's great to play with you again Chadius, rainzax and Azu!
Player name: Sedoriku
Character name: Ogren Bound
XP: 15
Class: Champion (of FLYING!) 2
Money: 30 gp 8 sp 1 cp
Leveling Speed: Normal
PFS number: 108507-2003
Day Job: Library Lore: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
Perception Bonus: +4 trained (w/ darkvision)
Faction: Vigilant Seal
PFS School Items: Hrmm Minor healing potion
Slotted Boons: One-Who-Waits, Traveler on the Spirit Road, Big Game Hunter. He has other, character or scenario specific boons but they wouldn't apply here.

Hello, I hope there is still a spot. Unfortunately I think I may bump us to high tier but I dont have a lower level character who hasnt already done this I am afraid. I have played and run this multiple times.

On crafting, my understanding is that you roll once when you start and then you continue to apply that discount result until you either finish making the item or pay the outstanding balance to complete it.

Thanks for checking in, everyone.
Azu Azan, I still need all of your character information. Please fill it in at your earliest convenience.
Your team will be joining a competition. So you should make up a good name for your team. If not, I'll make one up.
Feel free to introduce your character into the Gameplay thread.

On crafting, my understanding is that you roll once when you start and then you continue to apply that discount result until you either finish making the item or pay the outstanding balance to complete it.
So, unlike other Downtimes, which pairs single rolls to chunks of 8 days, instead, I take a single roll, and apply that Rate continuously, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 days (any amount), until I either successfully halve the cost, or simply pay the difference to complete the batch?
Or in other words, since he rolled a Critical Success, which yields an 8sp per day Rate, he can apply this for 11 days without needing the second roll, and either purchase the remainder, or continue at this Rate in subsequent Scenarios without needing to re-roll?

Mara, Hireling |

That is my understanding of how crafting works.

Oh, my boons are here. I do have the one that has synergy to this adventure: Legacy of the Gorget
(0/3)Sand Slide: Trigger: You would fail (but don't critically fail) a Reflex save to avoid a trap's effects.
Effect: You Step and then Drop Prone in your new location. You gain a +2 circumstance bonus to your triggering Reflex save. If this would have been enough to resist the trap's effects initially, you succeed at the save instead.
Cryptid Scholar (Untyped Boon): Your experiences with the Mosquito Witch have inspired you to research strange creatures. When you Recall Knowledge to identify a rare or unique creature, you can use the following reaction.
Reaction (fortune) Uses 3: (0/3) Trigger: You attempt to Recalll Knowledge to identify a creature you can see. Effect: You roll the skill check twice and use the better result.
(0/3) Traveler of the Spirit Road (General): You have traveled the pathways near the Forest of Spirits and not only managed to avoid losing your way, but even befriended some of the local kami. The kami's blessing follows you now and protects you from bad luck. Whenever you would critically fail a check to Hide, Sneak, Sense Direction, or Track while in a forested area, you may check a box next to this boon as a free action to treat that check as a failure instead.
Legacy of the Gorget (General): You have made close friends in the Land of the Linnorm Kings by retrieving Grehunde's gorget and the body of her heroic descendant, Hlavard. This boon has special benefits when slotted during Pathfinder Society Scenario #1-10: Tarnbreaker's Trail, and may have other benefits in scenarios and quests that feature Grehunde's descendants.
Experienced Mountaineer (General): The trek from Isger to Molthune taught you tricks for navigating treacherously steep terrain. While this boon is slotted, you treat mountainous terrain and other steep slopes as difficult terrain, rather than as greater difficult terrain.

"Oggey, Briney and the Sledpushers!"

I'll apologize now for Junior's behavior. Most of my characters are pretty positive, friendly, and helpful. Pepper's father (1e) was infrequently those things and his son likely will trend even farther from those expectations. I think most of my Elven characters fall in a similar line to that.
Either way, it does add a nice change of pace!

Do we have any other GM glyphs on the table? If not I add 4 heropoints which I will give out to Ulfgar, Junior, Azu and Briney. If we are high tier then it looks like Ulfgar get a level bump. If so I can offer the Skillful Mentor boon.
While working with less experienced Pathfinder allies, you provide vital advice to sharpen your newer colleagues’ skills. For any PCs benefiting from a Level Bump and whose levels are lower than yours, you increase the Level Bump’s modifier to skill checks to 2.Normal A Level Bump increases a PC’s skill check modifiers by 1.
Special A PC can only benefit from two mentor boons.

Given the improbably high hit points for level 1 and level 2 skill feats I think Ulfgar has a typo in his tag line and is level 2.

Thanks, but I'm still confuse at what/how many boons we can slot. General/Slotless/Advanced/Faction. No clue anymore

![]() |

You dont really slot anything anymore. You can use any of your boons with some limitations:
1. You may only use one promotional boon per scenario.
2. You may only use one advanced boon per scenario.
3. You may only use one hireling boon per scenario. You can have as many hirelings as you want/can afford but can only use one. You are not fixed in your choice until you choose to do so.

That is so funny. When PFS went to this new slotting system, it was specifically to stop players from having all their boons at their disposal. So after a bunch of painful iterations and confusing documentation, we are right back where we started.

Ulfgar probably wouldn't actually say it, or just mutter it at best but his suggestion for a team name would be "The Pathfinder Team."
He's simple, like that.

Enjoying the energy in the game so far, even if Junior doesn't seem to show it. Its hard to have my characters that were previously racial enemies to goblins (especially the long lived races like Elves and Dwarves) not have a poor opinion of them. I love their RP and zaniness though. Goblins are the king of a crazy race to play.

Briney can comfortably lend 2.0 Bulk towards the carrying of team supplies!

![]() |

This isn't a 100 meter dash, it's more of an overland trek across the snow. Challenges include not getting lost, buried in snow, chased by predators and making it to the next checkpoint before sunset.
And depending on the character, having fun while doing it!

![]() |

It feels like the Iditarod crossed with the Amazing Race but without the dogs (fortunate for the goblins) and possibly slightly less drama.

![]() |

Just an fyi on aid another, the DC is usually 20 and if you crit fail, you provide a penalty. So we should let the monk start there climb and only one of us should help if it looks like he won't make it.
