Teja, you can retcon your last action later if you'd like. Also, your sickened condition ended when your persistent fire did.

Jayma continues shooting the monolith, and Zabu clamors up and rushes towards the foxes. Unfortunately, in his haste, he can't target accurately.

The Blue corrupted wildfire begins firing sap at the newcomers!

Flaming Sap: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (11) + 12 = 23 vs Zabu, lesser cover
Fire: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6 plus 1d4 persistent fire plus sickened

Flaming Sap, MAP: 1d20 + 12 - 5 ⇒ (9) + 12 - 5 = 16 vs Hopper, standard cover
Fire: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5 plus 1d4 persistent fire plus sickened

Flaming Sap, MAP: 1d20 + 12 - 10 ⇒ (2) + 12 - 10 = 4 vs Hopper, standard cover
Fire: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9 plus 1d4 persistent fire plus sickened

Purple moves up, and spews forth another acrid cloud of smoke. Everyone in the cloud is concealed, and PCs have to make a DC 20 Fort save vs. Poison: 1d6 ⇒ 3 damage.

The air itself was also tinder dry due to the raging fires, so she modifies her hand motions and reaches down with her mind to call up the water trapped in the ground beneath her. The water bubbles out of the soil before her and rises slightly into the air where it forms into a ball. She then lets out a ”torrent torques torrid tor,” and the ball flies upwards to smash itself against the monolith.

Thanks! Here's the revision.

It may not matter much at this point, but did Lazarus get any info from Recall Knowledge on the foxes?

When Jayma's torrent of water destroys the monolith, Dr. Lazarus is duly impressed. He calls out to her, "My dear lady, that was inspired. I did not see that coming. Your strategy may have saved us all." He continues to marvel at the quick-thinking sorceress and is glad she's on our side.

After taking out a fiery fox with his first attack, Lazarus turns his attention to the nearest creature he can find. Through the smoke, he targets the purple humanoid and flings his hammer.

Jayma watches with bated breath as her big ball of water blasts toward the monolith, picking up speed as it goes. The monolith was proving a tough nut to crack and if her latest attack didn’t do some serious damage to it she would likely need to rethink her strategy. Her friends had done admirably well against the monolith’s minions without her help, but they had taken a serious beating and could use her support. So when she sees the lights go off and the energy discharge from the monolith, she reacts with unrestrained glee. She jumps up-and-down in place with her fists pumping the air. ”Yes! That's the way, uh-huh, uh-huh, I like it. Woooo!”

After a few seconds of uninhibited celebration and a little basking in the adulation of her companions, she recovers her wits enough to see that the fiery creatures continue to fight on despite the crippling of their patron. Directing her ire at them, she says, ”You boys are making a big mistake by sticking around; you should’ve run while you had the chance.”

”Let’s see if I can get it right this time.” Once again she goes through her ember catching sequence of hand and arm motions, making additional changes to finger placement, movement speed and hand orientation to see if she can load up her bolts with more energy. She’s beginning to believe that all her efforts to improve this particular spell are for naught and that the effectiveness of her bolts depends mainly on a certain randomness inherent in the wild magic she’s trying to harness. As she finishes up, Jayma calls out ”force forays for fiery fiend” and releases her new set of force bolts at the remaining foxy creature.

Actions 1, 2, 3 (◆◆◆): Cast a Spell: Magic Missile (3-actions) All 3 missiles targeting Yellow Firey Fox

Magic Missile 1: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5 force damage
Magic Missile 2: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3 force damage
Magic Missile 3: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5 force damage

Three more bolts of energy blast out from her hands and spear into the villainous vixen.

Did I get sickened 2 last turn? I used Shake It Off which reduces my sickened condition by 1 on a Failure, 2 on a Success and 3 on a Critical and got a success. Although, I guess I didn't point out that that's what I was doing with the second Fort save. Here's one for this round, because I assume I'm at least sickened 1.

Fort Save (Shake it Off): 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (2) + 10 = 12

That reduces my Sickened condition by 1 if it's a failure or 2 if it's a success.

Zabu scowls and snarls, almost appearing to will away his intestinal distress.

He lunges for the fireman next to him, trying to get it in a headlock.

Athletics (Grapple): 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (11) + 10 = 21

He's Grabbed if that's a success and Restrained if it's a crit.

Then, he slashes at the creature's chest with his free hand.

Claw minus MAP: 1d20 + 9 - 4 ⇒ (20) + 9 - 4 = 25
Slashing plus Rage: 1d6 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 3 + 1 = 5

Crit Slashing plus Rage: 1d6 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 3 + 1 = 8

Yes. Blue's attack against you was a crit, so 2d4 persistent fire and sickened 2. So, you cleared it and then got it right back.

But I will confess that I just deleted a whole mea culpa section because I missed it myself. This fight has an absurd number of conditions imposed so every post is adding and removing a whole bunch of conditions and it's very likely I've made mistakes.

Dr. Lazarus heals Teja, and crits with his hammer, bringing down Blue.

Jayma sends three magic missiles.

Zabu shakes off his sickness, but he's still a little sick. He tries to grapple the humanoid, but can't contain it. With a grunt, he swipes and knocks Purple down.

Fire: 2d4 ⇒ (1, 3) = 4
Persistent: 1d20 ⇒ 2

Round 5!

Teja (-28 hp)
Dr. Lazarus
Zabu (-32 hp, 2d4 persistent fire, sickened 1, fatigued)
Jayma
Monolith (-13 hp, broken)
Green Firey Humanoid (-53 hp)
Blue Firey Humanoid (-58 hp)
Purple Firey Humanoid (-52 hp)

Fumbus (-4 hp)
Hopper (-24 hp) / Wolfie (-6 hp, 1d4 persistent fire)

Red Firey Fox (-45 hp)
Orange Firey Fox (-38 hp)

Yellow Firey Fox (-30 hp)

And then there was one ...

Hopper reaches to his belt and takes out his last lightning bottle bomb

"I've got this"

Ligthning bottle@Yellow: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (5) + 10 = 15
Damage, lightning: 2d6 ⇒ (1, 2) = 3 +2 lightning damage to target if miss, flat footed for 1 round if hit.

But melee distance apparently is too odd for him to hit.

Then Wolfie comes into the attack. His fangs fully shown tries to bite the burning foe.

Wolfie@yellow, MAP: 1d20 + 10 - 5 ⇒ (14) + 10 - 5 = 19
Damage, piercing: 2d8 + 3 ⇒ (4, 8) + 3 = 15

Then Wolfie moves to the side and Hopper yet again jumps from the saddle into the flames.

"Zabu, get it!"

Persistent Fire@Wolfie: 1d20 ⇒ 8
Damage, fire: 1d4 ⇒ 2

1st: Hopper throws bomb
2nd: Command Animal: Wolfie attacks and moves
3rd: dismount to provide flanking to whoever comes from the front.

Hopper can't get a decent parabolic arc on his bomb, and it splashes somewhat harmlessly. But Wolfie rushes in and takes the fox down.

Technically, we should stay in initiative because of persistent damage. I hope nobody will consider it unfun that I bot the residual checks. I assume everyone will help lower the DC to 10. I am basically only making sure nobody dies. You have plenty of time to heal after combat.

Round 6
Fire, Zabu: 2d4 ⇒ (1, 1) = 2
Persistent, Zabu: 1d20 ⇒ 6
Fire, Wolfie: 1d4 ⇒ 3
Persistent, Wolfie: 1d20 ⇒ 13

Round 7
Fire, Zabu: 2d4 ⇒ (1, 4) = 5
Persistent, Zabu: 1d20 ⇒ 13

Formally the end of combat!

A message to Gorm Greathammer quickly returns the following response: "Message received. We could see the light show from here! Return to camp at your convenience.

The party is free to open all the other tiles, but you've hit everything of interest and I've rolled enough Survival checks for a lifetime. You're not in danger of running out of food on the way home.

There is a final exposition part, but I don't have the time to write it out right now - update in a few hours, but you can roleplay the end of the scenario for your charcters if you'd like.

The somewhat singed scholar looks with relief on the rapidly dying down forest fire.

"Well, that was certainly one for the Chronicles" she mentions. Then, ever curious, approaches the monolith in order to get a really good sketch of it. Maybe even rubbings of some of the runes that are carved into it.
I assume there are runes carved into it..

"So, we head back to base then? Just another light jaunt through the forest and back to Absalom in time for tea? Or maybe my birthday."

When the Pathfinders return to the Pathfinder camp, Gorm Greathammer eagerly debriefs them. After listening to a recounting of their adventures, he asks them to mark the approximate location of any sites of interest so specialist teams can be dispatched for further study.

See Slide 5.

Gorm is particularly interested in any details and descriptions they recount about the demoniac camp, taking copious notes. He congratulates them on a job well done, and assures them that the Society’s work is far
from finished in the region.

Greathammer trails off as a figure appears in the tent.

The person’s features remain completely obscured by their mask, which features a pair of stag’s horns. The figure regards the occupants of the tent for a moment before speaking.

You have gone to great trouble, and while there is still much to do, the time for absolute secrecy among the Decemvirate has passed. You have earned the right to know more, to know who you are working to save. The one you know as Sapphire, who was merged with and possessed by some malign power, goes by another name, as well. One that may be more familiar to you: Drandle Dreng.

With that, the helmed figure turns and departs, as suddenly as they appeared.

End of scenario! Feel free to continue roleplaying, and you're free to ask any questions about the plot or the plot twist, although I'm afraid that I may know less than some of you about the metaplot!

Zabu scowls when the fire is finally put out. He's clearly annoyed that he got worse than he gave in that fight.

Maybe that's why he grins viciously at Teja's question. "Nah, I'm pretty sure Jayma wants to explore all of our assigned territory. I'll go start scouting," he says, turning and making a show of heading into the woods.

When Hopper and Wolfie take down the last of the enemies, Dr. Lazarus surveys the battlefield. "Jolly good performance, everyone." Turning to Hopper, he adds, "It was your lightning that helped me erase one of those remaining enemies. Excellent strategy."
Gotta love the flat-foot effect with Bottled Lightning.

Realizing that Zabu, Hopper, and Wolfie are still aflame, the Doctor performs some quick in-battle healing to keep them conscious until the fires are put out. With everyone stable, he unpacks his healing tools and clears his throat. "Ahem. I can heal two of you at a time. Zabu and Teja -- you first." When he sees Teja running off to examine runes, he orders, "My dear lady, the runes aren't going anywhere. Allow me to get started. Yes, yes. Right here is fine." While tending to Zabu, he remarks, "You, my dear boy, have a death wish. You have no shortage of courage, but it's a wonder you've survived this long. Now hold still!"

After 10 minutes of healing, "You'll live. Off you go." Turning to Hopper. "Stay put. I'll come to you and Wolfie." The Doctor bandages up Hopper. And if Wolfie cooperates, he'll apply burn ointments to the wolf as well.

Arriving at camp, Lazarus beams with pride as his faction leader, Gorm Greathammer, compliments the group. But when the strange figure says that Sapphire is really Venture-Captain Drandle Dreng, Lazarus gasps. "Can it be? Sapphire led our first mission here in Iobaria. I saw him disappear. That was Dreng?" He tries to say more, but for once, he's speechless.

The Decemvirate are known for masks to hide their identities. Is the stag horn a Decemvirate symbol we would know?

The following might be a minor spoiler. In 2-01, we're introduced to members of the Decemvirate, so probably not a real spoiler. This is just a quick question about that initial mission briefing. Not giving away any plot/story, but just in case...

Minor Spoiler for 2-01 Citadel of Corruption:
Dr. Lazarus studies the figure and before he leaves, Lazarus asks, "Wait. I have many questions. But I'll ask just one. Are you known as Shrike, the operative who was with Sapphire, er, Dreng, in charge of our first mission here in the Finadar Forest?" The Doctor awaits an answer from whom he believes is a member of the Decemvirate.

Once the remaining fire creatures are taken care of, Jayma casts a quick spell to clean off the small sooty spot caused by a tiny ember that had landed on her sleeve during the fight. She then makes the arduous climb up the steps to rejoin her colleagues and survey the field of battle more closely. Satisfied, she says, ”I thought that all went rather well, no?”

Jayma calls out to Zabu’s retreating form. ”You know what Mr Creed? I think I’ve changed my mind. Except for dealing with the ritual sites, this outing of ours has been a bit of a bust. I see no reason to prolong it further. But by all means, feel free to continue without me if you prefer.”

Not that I'm aware of, but I have only played about half of Season 2 so far. The stag horn shows up in PFS1 #10-16, What the Helms Hide, but it's not a major plot point, and in any case it doesn't seem to be a personal mask, rather a generic Decemvirate mask. Others are welcome to share what they know.

When the fight is over Hopper helps to put down the fire on Wolfie and simply lies down on the ground

"Don't worry Doc, wolfie and myself are not going anywhere."

After getting his wounds tended, Hopper helps Lazarus with Wolfie who is big baby when it comes to tending wounds.

"Sit still you furball! Your burns will heal faster! Wolfie!" Hopper yells and even try lying down on the Wolf but it helps very little as the beast is very strong.

Finally, they made it and Hopper shakes Lazarus hand

"Thanks doc! That was a hell of a journey!"

Well done all
