ooh, yeah that's a tough decision. The whispers from the earring would be so counter to Baldrick's innocence that he might reject it based on that alone.
All of my other games fizzled out in the last few months, so I'd love to keep going, if there's more.

Rodney Lash |

Had a great in playing with you all. And remember....
I’ve always been skeptical of goodbyes
They’re a bit hand-wavy aren’t they ;o)
Had to do one last one.
And he will be taking the earring as well.

Greycastle |

mage slayer is a nice feat, no?
It is if you’re planning on staying a melee rogue, but an arcane archer would find mage slayer less attractive.

Rodalas Windrace |

I kinda like being more striker, in and out, slashing, even though once I take bladesinger I cannot use 2 short swords

![]() |

This brings up the question of what’s next? Do you guys want to continue? Aesh and I have tag team DMd some of this already. Not sure what everyone wants to do now. Aesh, is there a follow up to this epic yet?
So what they did is that they open with an epic and close with an epic, so we can do more modules, or you could grab one of the Dungeon Craft plot seeds and make up your own module for us. There are a couple of neat ones that could be amazing!
What do you think?

Rodalas Windrace |

DM, I need to get 2 shortswords and I will sell my rapier.
Question about Bladesinger (2 levels away), the description says that I cannt attack with a 2 handed attack, does that mean a weapon using 2 hands or two weapons?
I think I will boost my stats for now.

Baldrick Longhall |

Yeah, a two-handed attack is using two hands on one weapon.
Two-weapon fighting means using two weapons - one hand on each ;)
(I don't know anything about Bladesinger specifically, as I only have the core rulebook)

![]() |

According to the RAW, you are fine using two weapons, but remember a couple of things. With a weapon in each hand, you cannot cast spells that require somatic components unless you have the Warcaster feat, and material components unless there is some feature that allows you to use your weapon as an arcane focus.

Baldrick Longhall |

Yeah, I've been playing a bit fast and loose with that rule (partly for the sake of story; partly because I personally think it's silly for sorcerers to need v/s/m spell components, but that's just me).
As Baldrick would be moving to 4th level, I was contemplating Warcaster. I think it might be my last chance to make any changes to his character, so I should probably think about that. Let me know if you have any suggestions.

Baldrick Longhall |

I'm not sure if you're referring to the spell or some innate ability, but Misty Step, the 2nd level spell, is a Bonus Action to cast and only uses a Verbal component, so you wouldn't have to worry about having weapons in your hands.

Greycastle |

Aesh would be more up on AL rules but my understanding is you can rebuild your character whenever you want now. I’ll have to find the updated AL document. Honestly, I haven’t looked at it since Avernus came out.

Rodalas Windrace |

Warcaster looks like it is an option for me right now. If I don't take it now, though it won't help me until 5th level I won't be able to take it until 4th level wizrd. The bonues to Dex will be helpful to keep him alive now and help him hit better.

Baldrick Longhall |

@Greycastle: Yeah, I think you have until 4th level to make any changes you want. Baldrick just turned 4th level at the end of this Epic, so limited time to make more changes.
@Rodalas: At 4th level you can take the stat bonus or the feat, right? I don't think you can do that at levels before 4th. (sorry, just confused by your comment)

Rodalas Windrace |

I am asking if it it is better to boost the stats or take a feat [you can only chose 1 or the other when you get 4 levels in a class and not character level

Umikh Ironbender |

@Lumen you'd be fine if you want to continue, we're only a couple levels ahead.
So far I like this fighter the way he's built, but I'll piddle around with the character builder just to see.

I went with the bracers of keeping warm, and also picked up a short bow and arrows so I have a ranged weapon just in case. The idea of an earring whispering to Umikh was not pleasing to the character (!!).

Thanks for having me along although with all the healing potions I wasn 't needed much. I'm not too familiar with AL rules so I don't know if I can continue with the higher level characters since I'll only be 2nd.
Yeah, no worries, my character will only be 3rd level and I am willing to forego a level when we hit 4th to let you catch up, or I can play another character that I have been itching to play...

I think Grey was going to run the next one, but he needs to decide what he wants to run. Dungeoncraft is great because it gives the DM a lot of leeway with the story, but it might be more work than he wants to do. I have played through most of the tier 1 mods for the season, so I am down for whatever. I will avoid using meta-knowledge, so whatever he decides, I am totally down.

![]() |

Season 10 characters only, but I have so many character ideas that I have made but haven't played yet...

Baldrick Longhall |

Ah, well that answers the question of whether I should switch to Jarprax :D

![]() |

Should I switch to my monk healer or stick with Turq? The monk could give a reprieve to Lumen in the healing department...

Rodalas Windrace |

How soon are we wanting to start the next scenario? Is there an ear ring of intelligence in D and D Beyond?

Rodney Lash |

Is there an ear ring of intelligence in D and D Beyond?
I just use the headband and customized the name to ear ring.
And question for you Rodlas, since you are a rouge and a non spell caster why did you take War caster as a feat?Aeshuura, play what you want. I took the inspiring Leader so I can give out 7 temp. HP with a 10 min. speech.

Umikh Ironbender |

I like Turq but yeah play what you want, sounds like you've got some fun ideas knocking around.

I am planning on taking wizard at 5th level and then going into bladesinger at 6th.
I am still debating wheter or not to take that feat now or wait. Taking the ability bonuses will help keep me alive until I can get warcaster to assassinate the casters we will be fightinng :)

Looking at it on the sheet, taking the 2 Stat improvement option seems to be better, improved AC, Saves and Iniatitve.
How easy is is to gain spells outside of leveling in AL?

Only way would be magic item or feat.

Okay, I like Turq too, maybe we can keep people alive with more frontliners. Netz, Umikh, Turq, plus as a cavalier, I can mark enemies so they have disadvantage when not targeting me.

The only way to gain spells would be through a feat or a magic item? I know that you can find scrolls and attempt to copy them into the spellbook, ruining the scroll, but I am not sure about feats doing this.

Greycastle |

I’m still taking a look at what I want to run but it’s fair to say it’s going to stay here in ice wind dale. Do we want to keep this thread or close it down?
In the mean time RPing back in Good Mead after attack would be a good way to start before we lead into the next adventure. I’ll solidify which direction we’re gonna head this weekend.

Baldrick Longhall |

I'll be camping next week (Sun, July 11 - Sat, Jul 17), so I might miss the start of things. The campground is supposed to have internet access, but I find that hard to believe. Just let me know where to find you, or I can sit this one out if it's too troublesome.

![]() |

I won't be back home until the 15th, so posting may still be slight until then, but I will contribute to the RP when I can. Then when you are ready, Grey, you can let us know here.
@Roddy (heh, Turq is coming back, don'tchaknow) I assumed you meant gain the ability to cast, not learn spells for your spellbook, so I was referring to Magic Initiate and wands, rods, and staves...

Umikh Ironbender |

We can keep the thread or do a new one, seems in the past we usually go to a new thread. But it's just a bookmark to me! I like having the previous history to go back and check, that's my vote I guess.
