A few years ago at my school ROTCs tudents thought it would be appropriate to put a swastika on the locker of an African American student. The year before some students thought it was okay to put KKK hoods on their classmates (using tech) in a group pic. Admin really did nothing about it.

I'll only be 4th, and Lumen and Netz will only be 3rd, so we got at least one more adventure before everyone can get to 5th (assuming Netz and Lumen are okay using the DT to catch up.)

Turq will be so much fun as we level! I am really liking the cavalier subclass, but I need to move away from two handed weapons. Going to move toward shield mastery, I think... ^_^

I think the general idea is for him to overcome his fears and become the sorcerer equivalent of the battle cleric. Or... maybe he's a fighter with support spells when not in combat? I guess I haven't 100% decided.

I don't usually plan these things out in advance, but I've played different versions of Baldrick in one-shots for several years. I know that the whole "doesn't understand that he's casting spells" schtick doesn't really work with higher-level magic, so he either has to come to terms with the spellcasting or abandon it entirely.

I have a bit of an idea of where I'd like to see him go, and hopefully that doesn't end up feeling too forced or artificial here.

No worries, Lumen! Once we can get you to level 4, you can spend Downtime to level up to 5th. We'll get you there, bud!

@Baldy, hmm, you could go Rune Knight, and dig deep into the Giant rune magic... Or Eldritch Knight, and still have your spellcasting, albeit slower progression... It depends on whether or not he comes to grips with his magic ability.

I have always been partial to the Battlerager. Its level 6 ability is often overlooked.

Reckless Abandon
Beginning at 6th level, when you use Reckless Attack while raging, you also gain temporary hit points equal to your Constitution modifier (minimum of 1). They vanish if any of them are left when your rage ends.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I think that the point of DM Grey telling us the passive Perception was that if your passive was high enough, then you do not need to roll, but you can always try to roll to get that high.

Just to let you all know... Grey, am I mistaken as to your intent?

I always assume that a roll means that you are actively trying to hear/see something, which, since we're on a march, might mean stopping or slowing down to listen carefully. Passive, on the other hand, is just that your hearing/sight is good enough that you just notice.

Ends up as the same result for Baldrick, though - he's not likely to stop to listen unless he's asked.

Could be, but as we are out in the wilds, it would make sense that at least Turq would be keeping an eye out. I mean, he is training to be a ranger anyway... ;)

EDIT: If it is passive only, Turq did NOT make that check and does not warn anyone, staying at the front of the pack...

Okay, so we have a bit of a conundrum with this campaign. Having hit the start of the new Season, it seems that the freeform DCA for Season 10 are no longer available unless it is on the DMs Guild.

So, we have a couple of options.

1) We continue to play DDAL modules of Historic category, possibly taking us out of Icewind Dale, or continue using the Book Module (Rime of the Frostmaiden). We can still rotate DMs, and it will give us a little freedom for story, but will also allow us to keep our characters AL legal.

2) We migrate this campaign to a home game. This will make anything we do after this last section not AL, but we can 'snapshot' the characters to keep the AL characters usable at this latest level, and play non-AL versions through the rest of the way.

What do we think about this?
