Maybe just bring up what the site manager said and ask if you could inquire on the decision so that you can proceed to pursue other opportunities if you are not selected.
If you do not hear back in a day or two, I would begin looking for another opportunity. That way you have things lined up if this does not work out...

The good thing is that I have an interview on Monday to become part of the Education Dept at the local community college and 2 of the schools that I interviewed with, one last week, emailed this week letting me know that they are strongly interested and are looking at staffing possibilities.

I think my interview with the community college went well.I should hear back on Wednesday if I go to the second round.

FYI our DM worked all day Saturday so is delayed on next post. Also we will be out of town - and out of cell service - Thursday through Sunday. Hanging with friends at a castle (Ravenwood Castle). Hoping for good weather and good times.
No worries. We got hit with a major power outage that blew some transformers on campus! We have been out of power for a week now and do not expect restoration until maybe next Monday... For now I am in the Library, where they have restored partial power and internet so I can do some actually work.
Yikes, that's a long time to be without power!

Yeah. The vendor in Texas was telling us, at first we would be out for 6 months! They are hopeful for Thursday now, but more realistically I am thinking Friday.

Job Corps offered a position!
Yay! Congrats!
Now they need to do the drug test and the background check, which I completed yesterday.
HR sent this email when I asked how long the process would take, Depending on how difficult it is for the the company to verify education, job history and criminal history.
Having worked in schools for the past 10 years or so, we often get supervisors changed annually, so I put the name of the last supervisor I had at the local large school district I worked for during summer school :)

Uuugh, the background check came back and the number I gave for my last supervisor never answered. They called 3 times so that meant that the clearing house could not verify so it is a negative report back. So I filled out a form on the website that can appeal with a better telephone number.
Does this stuff happen often?
I worked in the employment industry for many years. Sounds like what you're encountering is a system that's very regimented with little flexibility. In the places I worked, you'd say reach out to 2-3 previous employers/supervisors knowing only 1 or 2 would get back to you. It's unfortunate because they're probably screening out many highly qualified folks like you over some sticky rule.
I'd recommend reaching out to one of your former supervisors on your own, making sure they're okay with receiving a call, and then list that person as the former supervisor. If that's allowable. Sheesh sorry mate.

Apparently the local school district has a history of not responding to calls for verification purposes. HR said I was not the only person in that situation.

About time, it is not as much as I would be making at a public school, more than they originally offered and with their security, I do not have to worry about getting shot.

Pretty good trip to the east coast -- I mean, it was cloudy for most of it and rained a couple of days, but I got to hang out by the ocean, spend time with my mom, and introduce my partner to my childhood haunts.
Meanwhile, Alberta seems to have gone from fires to floods, so I didn't miss much :)

Sorry, the last 2 days I had 4 classes to watch at the same time at work,
Well that sounds nerve-wracking!
It was, the last 2 periods of those days there were not enough desks for the assigned students even AFTER those who could be moved out were moved out.
One of the schools that I interviewed with in May contacted me today with an offer almost 30k more than I am making now. I will be resigning tomorrow and think that the 28th will be my last day at Job Corps.
