We’re not actually wearing the cultist robes, we just brought them along in case we needed disguises.

Elliot Stormbane |

That was my intent too, to keep them packed until we actually run into a clear opportunity/infiltration target. But I'll assume we're wearing them for consistency in this scene and suggest removing them based on finding survivors this close.

Merixia |

Thanks for letting us know! No hurry, focus on getting better. :)

Shogunto Heineous |

It's all good, mate. Glad it's the flu... And not you-guys-know-what. Take your time and stay healthy!

Merixia |

Glad to hear it, Death-Lok! I was afraid you were in the hospital or something.

Elliot Stormbane |

So... nine days later, figured I'd ask for the final time. I like this group and these characters, but I assume this PBP is cancelled?

Merixia |

Man, I really wanted to play this one... if Death-Lok doesn't come back, you guys want to see if we can recruit a new DM?

Elliot Stormbane |

We can always try? let's give Death Lok a few days to come back and respond and if it appears he's fully gone I'll post in the recruitment section.

Shogunto Heineous |

Hi guys! Posting it on all my pbps.
Our offshore team at work is very affected by the pandemic at the moment and with the fiscal year approaching to an end, our reduced capacity is terribly affecting my time. For the next several weeks it will likely impact me in such way that I simply won't be able to keep up with the forums, things normalizing only as we start approaching mid June.
For the games where I play, GMs please feel free to bot the characters. If you don't desire to bot me for so long, I completely understand, apologize for the late notice and wish you all the best of fun. If you hold me around, though, I should be back after this storm.
For the games where I host, my sincerest apologies to the players - I won't let you hanging so if you stick around until my return we will give it continuation as normal. Otherwise, please message me and once I'm back I'll recruit replacements.
To everybody, I'm sorry for the late notice and I hope we will continue playing together once I'm back!
Cheers,
Archlich

Merixia |

I'm sorry to hear that, adsapiens. :( Darn RL, getting in the way of our fun!
Death-Lok, I can hang on until May 1st. Always easier to keep the original DM. Is Kyrie still around?

Elliot Stormbane |

No worries Shogunto, real life matters come first. Thanks for the heads-up!
I'm still here too. Though with Shogunto temporarily out we'd be down to 3 players for at least the next 6 weeks assuming Kyrie is also still here. Do we recruit someone to get back up to four?

Merixia |

I vote to bot Shogunto for now. He's a cool guy, I'd like to get him back once work slows down for him.
Is Kyrie still around?

Wyniess Morgethai |

Hello everyone, I've noticed you've had a hiccup in the game and might find yourselves in need of replacements. I'd like to be considered if you decide to recruit.
I dropped out of the original recruitment because I didn't quite get a backstory together in time, and in any case I was pretty busy then. I was sorry to withdraw at the time, I liked the idea of this campaign a lot. Since then I've had a couple of games go under and decided to see what I was missing here.
Anyway, I'm sure I could get the backstory finished if you're interested.

Elliot Stormbane |

Welcome! Well, I'm still here and willing to continue :) I think Death and Merixia are too. We haven't heard from our fighter Kyrie in a while and the Shogunto/Archlich is on hiatus for the next month or so.
Final say would be on Death as the GM but I definitely wouldn't mind recruiting another ranger. We don't know if Kyrie or Shogunto/archlich will come back and if they both do, perhaps we could continue as 5?

Wyniess Morgethai |

Oh, I see Shogunto is also a ranger of the same archetype and an archer. That might be a problem if he's coming back.
I could offer up a melee character instead if that how things shake out with returning or not returning players. I have a Bloodrager that's gathering dust I could tweak.

Merixia |

Hi there! A melee character would be welcome if Kyrie doesn't make it back. If he does, I'm cool with a five person party, but of course the DM has the final say.

Wyniess Morgethai |

So, I've been thinking a little about melee in case that is something the party needs. Since the character would be starting at 3rd, I'd like to do something that's impossible for starting at 1st level: A penitent Gray Maiden who wears the Gray Maiden armor.
1st level would be Fighter to pick up heavy armor proficiency and armor training. There's also a feat available that allows a Gray Maiden to treat Gray Maiden plate as medium armor if it's more beneficial for class abilities. After that there are a couple of routes I could go:
1. Bloodrager, probably Destined Bloodline with greatsword.
2. Slayer with with two weapon fighting using longsword and shield. This one is very close to the canon Gray Maidens who used longswords and heavy shields.
3. Paladin is also possible. But that would be more of a group decision since Pally's aren't everyone's cup of tea.
There's also a neat Cavalier archetype, Sister-in-Arms, but I think it's too combat support oriented if there's only one dedicated front liner.

Elliot Stormbane |

Those sound like fun options! Unfortunately, the recruitment here was for core and base classes only. So that'd leave only paladin and perhaps grey maiden if that is a prestige class, can't remember at the moment. I think both slayer and bloodrager count as hybrid/advanced classes.
However, since we haven't heard from Kyrie or Deathlock in a while (and perhaps Kyrie was Deathlock's GMPC, as he was the prepick for the AP and disappeared around the same time), perhaps we'd be better off starting a thread in the recruitment forums and asking if a different GM would want to take over, or start the AP anew. Perhaps, if that is succesful, the class restrictions would also be lifted?

Wyniess Morgethai |

Ah, If it's core and base then probably Fighter is best. There's lots of cool stuff with weapon and armor training now I'd like to try out anyway. Sister-in-Arms is a cavalier archetype so it qualifies, but as I mentioned it's oriented toward teamwork and aid abilities so I don't think it would solo well. It would need another martial to work with. Oracle is base so a Battle Mystery Oracle could work. But it might not be demon fighting tough enough and Merixia is already a divine full caster.
I suppose Paladin isn't off the table, but like I said I think Paladins would require party consensus first.
I don't know about Death-Lok or Kyrie (they are different people), but I expect Shogunto will be coming back. At least I hope so. I'm in a different campaign with them where they're also away for a while, so we're botting their character in the mean time. I don't know if it was mentioned here, but the absence is work related and should end.

Shogunto did mention his absense was work related and I do hope he will come back. We haven't heard from Death since may 4th and I don't think either he or Kyrie gave a reason for absense here, other than that Death had flu-like symptoms earlier. I hope they're both okay of course, but it would have been nice to have a note of where they went and if they'd return.
Fighter sounds cool. And from what I've seen both Elliot and Merixia aren't afraid to walk into battle and attack from melee. So teamwork builds might work too?

Wyniess Morgethai |

Here's the Cavalier archetype.
I've never played a Cavalier, but the reduced Challenge damage and standard actions used for party buffs and aid another mean rounds not attacking.
It's possibly fine but I'd hate to be wrong.

Merixia |

At this point, yeah, I think we should start looking for another GM.

Merixia |

Honestly I don't care if they want to start from scratch, I'd be willing to take my character down to 1st level if necessary. I'm a simple woman. I just want to smite demons.

Elliot Stormbane |

Sorry everyone. I've had a really rough week, but things are back on track. I'll ask around the forums for a replacement GM, or failing that, is there is a different WOTR campaign we could perhaps join.
