Hello all! Welcome and I will try to tell a fun and exciting collaborative story with you all. Please finalize your characters and let me know if you have any questions.

Hey guys! Thanks a ton for the invite! This will be fun (and challenging!).
I’ll update the profile with a physical description. If there’s anything else missing (or any questions) please throw my way!
Looking forward to playing with you all :)
F Tiefling (Hellspawn) Cleric of Ragathiel 8 | Hierophant 2 | HP 72/72 | AC: 19 (11 tch, 18 ff) | CMB +11, CMD +22 | F +9, R +4, W +12 | Init +3 | Perc +15, SM +19 | Destructive Smite 4/8 | Touch of Good 8/8 | Rage 0/8 | Holy Lance 0/1 | Channel 4d6 1/3 | Pyrotechnics 1/1 | True Strike 2/2 | Protection from Evil 0/2 | Mythic Power 4/7 | Effects: heroism, weapon of awe, ironskin, crusader's edge, bull's strength, magic circle vs evil, tears to wine, haste, wrathful weapon, divine favor
Hurray, it’s time for demon slaying! Thank you for picking me, Death-Lok. :) I’m not feeling well IRL today, but I’ll get my gear bought as soon as I can.
Dwarf Magus (Jistkan Artificer) 3 | AC 17, Touch 12, FF 15 | HP 21/21 | F +4, R +3, W +5 | Init +2| Perc +5 | CMD 16 (18 vs. grapple) | Spellcraft +7, Survival +4
Hi all! Looking forward to the game. Thanks for the selection. I’ll get this profile squared away with the character details and get gear and such fixed up. :)
As you finish your characters, please format your profiles as Kyrie did - so much easier when I have all of the relevant information available to me (init/perception/saves etc.).
Male Half-Orc Ranger (Tanglebriar Demonslayer, Trapper) 3 | HP 32/32 | AC 18 TO 13 FF 15 | F +6 R +8 W +5; +1 vs Spells/SLA/Su from Evil Outsiders | CMD 19 | Init +3 | Perc +8 (+9 to pierce a demon's disguise, +10 to find hidden objects inc. secret doors and traps) DV | Trapfinding +1, Favored Enemy (Attack, Damage, Bluff, Knowledge, Perception, Sense Motive, Survival) Evil Outsiders +2, Favored Terrain (Init, Geography, Perception, Stealth, Survival) Urban +2
Headers and profile are updated!

While Hardal and Merixia finalize their characters, let me talk about my concept for the game and get your input.
My thoughts:
The four of you are an established unit of Crusaders. To have 4 random strangers meet at the entrance to the city makes no sense to me. How long have you been Crusaders? Up to you but anywhere between 6 months to as much as you want. You were on a mission, investigating a cultist hideout or tracking a gang of outlaws preying on villagers/travelers. These are desperate times. Up to you. The mission had a hiccup - maybe some of the cultists or outlaws escaped your initial foray and you had to spend an extra day chasing them until you finally caught/killed them. The fact is that this hiccup delayed your return to Kenabres in time for Armasse on the 16th day of Arodus and unknowingly spared your lives from an initial demonic assault. You are arriving a day later on the 17th to Kenabres to save what's left of it in the aftermath.
That's the general idea - let me know your thoughts, additions, changes, comments, etc. Did you take prisoners? Are you escorting them back to the city?
Male Half-Orc Ranger (Tanglebriar Demonslayer, Trapper) 3 | HP 32/32 | AC 18 TO 13 FF 15 | F +6 R +8 W +5; +1 vs Spells/SLA/Su from Evil Outsiders | CMD 19 | Init +3 | Perc +8 (+9 to pierce a demon's disguise, +10 to find hidden objects inc. secret doors and traps) DV | Trapfinding +1, Favored Enemy (Attack, Damage, Bluff, Knowledge, Perception, Sense Motive, Survival) Evil Outsiders +2, Favored Terrain (Init, Geography, Perception, Stealth, Survival) Urban +2
My idea: I think some months together would be good! Maybe three or four. Our crusading unit was probably much larger, but the four of us are the last survivors from it. No prisoners - we lost the battle and fled! Without our horses or any good way to get back in time, we had to be moving slowly and hiding from the pursuers, and arrived to Kenabres only on the 17th after finally losing them.

F Tiefling (Hellspawn) Cleric of Ragathiel 8 | Hierophant 2 | HP 72/72 | AC: 19 (11 tch, 18 ff) | CMB +11, CMD +22 | F +9, R +4, W +12 | Init +3 | Perc +15, SM +19 | Destructive Smite 4/8 | Touch of Good 8/8 | Rage 0/8 | Holy Lance 0/1 | Channel 4d6 1/3 | Pyrotechnics 1/1 | True Strike 2/2 | Protection from Evil 0/2 | Mythic Power 4/7 | Effects: heroism, weapon of awe, ironskin, crusader's edge, bull's strength, magic circle vs evil, tears to wine, haste, wrathful weapon, divine favor
I'm down for having us be an established team for several months. Saves us the IC awkwardness of getting to know each other.
Shogunto, I would rather we still have our horses, since I'm planning to spend money on a horse and pack mule. Some of us are wearing medium or heavy armor! We could still be a day late and mounted if we were trying to lose pursuers. Or maybe it just took us extra time to track the cultists down.
Speaking of gear, did anyone else buy a tent? If not, I'll buy a four-man. The Worldwound gets some weird weather. Like, rain of scorpions/blood/eyeballs/acid etc. weird. I'm not sleeping outside in that. Merixia got caught overnight in a rain of scorpions once and bought a tent the next time she was in Kenabres.
I think I got my tagline done correctly. Death-Lok, please let me know if you want me to change it. Off to eat dinner and then buy ALL THE STUFF.
Halfling Fighter 3| AC 19, Touch 15, FF 15|HP 35/35 | F +6, R +5, W +2 (+5 vs. fear)| Init +3| Perc +9|CMD 18|Stealth +14
Three months together work for me, as Merixia stated - avoids the awkwardness. But I don't agree with Shogunto's premise - losing our unit is starting with failure and then to learn that our beloved city has lost thousands of souls would be just piling on. I'd rather have us rushing back with hope of joining the festivities of Armasse after a successful mission and then to get hit with the hopelessness of the situation and undertaking the saving the survivors in the city - that feels heroic.
Male Half-Orc Ranger (Tanglebriar Demonslayer, Trapper) 3 | HP 32/32 | AC 18 TO 13 FF 15 | F +6 R +8 W +5; +1 vs Spells/SLA/Su from Evil Outsiders | CMD 19 | Init +3 | Perc +8 (+9 to pierce a demon's disguise, +10 to find hidden objects inc. secret doors and traps) DV | Trapfinding +1, Favored Enemy (Attack, Damage, Bluff, Knowledge, Perception, Sense Motive, Survival) Evil Outsiders +2, Favored Terrain (Init, Geography, Perception, Stealth, Survival) Urban +2
That works too. I always like starting from a low position and growing from there, but I like Kyrie's angle too. Honestly, bands of crusaders are probably larger than 4 people, though. Unless we were sent in a message far from Kenabres and went on a small group to travel faster.
As for horses, I didn't buy any. I can certainly afford one (and should review my purchases too before the game starts). I'll just wait on the direction we decide to go and finish with these details on the sheet.
F Tiefling (Hellspawn) Cleric of Ragathiel 8 | Hierophant 2 | HP 72/72 | AC: 19 (11 tch, 18 ff) | CMB +11, CMD +22 | F +9, R +4, W +12 | Init +3 | Perc +15, SM +19 | Destructive Smite 4/8 | Touch of Good 8/8 | Rage 0/8 | Holy Lance 0/1 | Channel 4d6 1/3 | Pyrotechnics 1/1 | True Strike 2/2 | Protection from Evil 0/2 | Mythic Power 4/7 | Effects: heroism, weapon of awe, ironskin, crusader's edge, bull's strength, magic circle vs evil, tears to wine, haste, wrathful weapon, divine favor
Whew! I think I have everything now. Merixia scribed ALL the scrolls. Y'all better buy rations and bedrolls, but I have a four-person tent and I can conjure plenty of fresh water. I'm with Kyrie about our starting circumstances, by the way.
Speaking of our friendly neighborhood halfling, tell us about your character! All you have is crunch on your profile.
Halfling Fighter 3| AC 19, Touch 15, FF 15|HP 35/35 | F +6, R +5, W +2 (+5 vs. fear)| Init +3| Perc +9|CMD 18|Stealth +14
Thanks Merixia - forgot to add it. I added his pic, background, and personality. :)
Waiting for Hardal to check in.
Game Play thread is up - check above for link. Hardal, please check in if you still want to join the game. You have 24 hours or I will look for a replacement.

Sorry, I’ve just been tied up a little with RL...
Finishing my profile by morning (10:25 pm now). I’m thinking Hardal joined the group just before that last battle. It’s been a struggle getting back, but one reason we managed was working together which included rounding up some wild horses. That bit further helped us bond and learn to work better together...
F Tiefling (Hellspawn) Cleric of Ragathiel 8 | Hierophant 2 | HP 72/72 | AC: 19 (11 tch, 18 ff) | CMB +11, CMD +22 | F +9, R +4, W +12 | Init +3 | Perc +15, SM +19 | Destructive Smite 4/8 | Touch of Good 8/8 | Rage 0/8 | Holy Lance 0/1 | Channel 4d6 1/3 | Pyrotechnics 1/1 | True Strike 2/2 | Protection from Evil 0/2 | Mythic Power 4/7 | Effects: heroism, weapon of awe, ironskin, crusader's edge, bull's strength, magic circle vs evil, tears to wine, haste, wrathful weapon, divine favor
Eh, I'm not too enthused with the wild horses idea. Any animal wandering the Worldwound without someone to give it clean food and water will quickly become sick and/or fiendish. I think tracking down and defeating enemies is pretty good for group bonding.
Oh, Death-Lok, would you add the rest of us to the players tab? It would make navigating back to the campaign easier.

Thanks Shogunto, I'm still figuring the Paizo forums out. :) I've played many PbP games on other forums, but not this one.
I forgot to mention- I'm keeping my light warhorse rather than going with the free riding horse. I want a mount that won't bolt the first time we see demons.

Oops, for some reason I thought Nerosyan was closer. Death-Lok, can we pretend Merixia said ‘Valas’ Gift’ instead of ‘Nerosyan’ and ‘a superior officer’ instead of ‘Queen Galfrey’? She would know these things.
Yes, definitely, Merixia. :)

I vote we enter mounted and bring the prisoners with us. Not the most ideal situation, but said prisoners might hurt the townsfolk if we leave them behind.

How far did Kyrie and Shogunto get from Merixia and the others? Is she close enough to hear the screaming?
Merixia and Haldar are about 80' away, peeking behind some branches. You can't hear what they're saying. You will be able to act in Round 1 but not the surprise round.
Hardal, I sent you a PM. One post in a week with no notice is unacceptable. I am sorry but I will find a new 4th player.
To the rest of you, I will recruit someone immediately.
Male Human Commoner (expert) 10
Hey everyone!
I was just recruted as the replacement player, pleased to meet you all. I'll be making a bard to join you on the way. I think I might have accidentally deleted the alias I used on the original recruitment but the word document is still here, so it shouldn't take much time :)
How do you want Elliot to enter the story, Death? Some ideas: perhaps he was with the unit but scouting for them, and hung around longer than he should have when he saw the signs of disaster?
Or perhaps part of a remnant of the eagle watch trying to guide these refugees out, under orders to do so? I might foresee a conflict here with Kyrie as it'd be his orders to take care of the villagers (leave?) while it's his to return.
He could also simply be a messenger from the city sent to warn or recruit the outlying patrols about/back to the city, and stumble upon them during this fight?
I like the last option (messenger) - I will bring you in Round 4 - if your character is ready.

Welcome, Trevor! You had the aasimar bard, right? I liked that character. :)
Male Human Commoner (expert) 10
All right! @Everyone I'm assuming that if I'm a messenger from the city, I don't know any of you beforehand.
I'm filling in the alias now, he should be long ready when round 4 comes up. Good luck guys/madam!

Merixia wrote: Welcome, Trevor! You had the aasimar bard, right? I liked that character. :) Yes indeed. Glad to hear part of him was apparently memorable! I remember reading your cleric submission and being impressed at the background (and being a cleric of Ragathiel in general, whom I've only rarely seen worshipped and only by paladins, if that), so wasn't at all surprised to read you made it in. Congrats again!
@Kyrie: Thanks, it's good to be here :) Eager to see how this AP measures against the video game (I played the alpha version which went to character level 9 ish). I guess I have some broader knowledge of the initial plotline but I assume there's lots of differences between it and the actual PnP version. If it comes up, i'll keep character and ooc knowledge seperate.
Now back to the alias...

Congrats again! Aww, thank you! A lot of players don't bother to read others' character backgrounds, much less backgrounds as long as I tend to write, so it's great to hear that someone other than the DM read and enjoyed Merixia's story! I love the Pathfinder concept of empyreal lords, so a bunch of my characters follow them. And Ragathiel is one of my favorites. Dude basically gave Dispater and everyone in Hell a giant middle finger and went his own way, despite the understandable distrust from the people he wanted to join. You have to respect that. I imagine Ragathiel's story would really resonate among tieflings and half-orcs, who get a lot of flack for their ancestry and tend to struggle with anger issues.

Hello to you too, Shogunto. Still happy to be here :)
@Merixia You're probably right. It makes sense, and Ragathiel does have a reputation for being the most angry paladin ever! I liked falayna's backstory from the empyrial lords too; it takes a serious badass to go retrieve a memento of your slain warlord husband from hell when you have supposedly no combat skill to start out. Maybe i should read the others over again, too.
I mostly finished this alias aside from some paizo website layout errors that I'll fix tomorrow, but overall Elliot is good to go!

And do I know anything about the status of the rest of the Eagle Watch or the church Merixia asked about? Is there a known active base of resistance? I remember from the PC-game version that the Eagle Watch had set up base in a tavern somewhere. Of course, Elliot might also not be aware yet since he might have been out in the field the entire time.
Elliott was near the city when the attack occurred. He has been helping city dwellers escape and protecting them, but he has not advanced far into the city so he does not know fate of the Church or soldiers or if there are any left to mount a last stand.

All right, got it!
Jumping ahead slightly, Elliot will be searching the bodies, but specfically: can the outfits of these cultists potentially be used as disguises (having more options usually doesn't hurt), or are they too heavily damaged? And could I use prestidigitation to remove the blood?

I went ahead and made a loot list spreadsheet. Could anyone check if it works? I copied one from another PBP thread, deleted all the information and got the below link for sharing the document. It should work...?
Edit: the link didn't work, and the file apparently doesn't exist anymore :( I'll retry with an excel file.
Edit 2: K, have a working excel file. Though, it seems I can only share it by sending copies to others or inviting people both by email, which I assume most people don't want to do. Anyone with more experience able to set up a shared google docs or better solution of similar nature? Could also keep track myself but then others won't be able to see.
