St. John Smythe |

I don't know if you are using maps or not but to be sure I was 10 feet behind Quince with the intention of getting between him and the boar if it charged. If I can make a surprise round charge at it after the arrows launch I will.

Layla Kheper |

My apologies, but I don't think this is the game for me. I was already disheartened with all the GMPCs and wonky power level, but right now I simply can't understand the action or what's going on. It's a pity, since I invested some time to put Layla together, but I don't want to disrupt your gameplay and fun and I simply can't put myself to enjoy being in a 20-people party, or in a party full of overtuned GMPCs. Wish you all fun!

Quince Medvyed |

Sorry to see you go Layla.

GM Wolf |

St. John... as Quince came back to the group did you just freeze and not move from your spot... I guess you could charge the boar but you would have to overrun the corral. Honestly, if you were that close the boar should have attacked. Just saying.
----
20 people?! How is she getting 20?
Quince
Cleonora
Jorne (Only NPC with the group)
St. John
Delilah
Lykan
Layla (Leaving and ungracefully at that.)
Roland
Sindri (Who hasn't posted in a while.)
Ike (Who hasn't posted in a while.)
Dinenen
So I count: 11 minus Layla so 10.
Katrina and Arthur are staying with the elk. (Unneeded backup)
Also if you are confused about anything please ask questions. I can't answer the question you didn't ask. This is Kingmaker and we have already made room on the council of Wardens technically. Other NPCs would willingly step aside should you be able to show your ability and longevity to see this module through.

Cleonora Petalouda |

I think she just meant there are alot of people. And some people can't handle there being so many!

Quince Medvyed |

I added Arthur to the slide show.

Quince Medvyed |

I added Arthur to the slide show.
I took Arthur down. Reading the description in the profile doesn't really fit the picture I found. Which was the full picture of the profile pick you found for him.

Major Update to the Campaign Slideshow
The link normally is right above the campaign info tab.
Today's update includes
-Themed Desk Spash Page with links to the map of the Greenwatch (The Nomen Heights will be added soon)
-The Varnhold Expedition Characters
-Links to the previous campaign tab for posterity.
-The 1st & 2nd Charters
-The Greenwatch Compact (Barony Founding Document)
-Link to the Kingdom Spreadsheet
Its getting to be a big slideshow. So I am working to get it to self reference better. So that you don't need to run through the entire slideshow to find relevant slides.

Lykàn Delĩss |

Brillant!
Thank you Quince for the hard work you put in.
Now though my burning questions is.....
Who's left in the party? (Active players that is. lol I count casualties.)

Quince Medvyed |

Minor Slideshow update!
I notices a number of the pictures if clicked on auto advanced the slideshow. So I linked them to themselves to stop that. Should make navigation smoother.

Cleonora Petalouda |

I got my post up just after he did posted... So I'mma wait! XD

Quince Medvyed |

Slideshow Update!
Nomen Heights map linked as well.

Lykàn Delĩss |

I'm not sure if Heal is an appropriate check to check how old the centaur hides are.
I'm sure it could tell how they were killed if there's any previous wounds left on the leather.

Quince Medvyed |

Survival is used for things like prepping animals for eating. Perhaps that would give us some insight. Or nature I would imagine. I mean I the player have no idea but I cant imagine hunters and folk who have "the local tannery" just up the road wouldn't be able to tell the difference between a couple weeks ago and recent. It sounds like whenever it was the hides weren't done being prepped. So if its a matter of not being scrapped or cleaned then the blood and rot my say something. The piles of carcasses does suggest that the recent visitors don't care about hides. So it looks sadly like the Varnhold tanner is willing to tan Centaur or there is a reason that the spriggans and friends are only trying to save centaur hides. Like maybe some offers a bounty for them.

Lykàn Delĩss |

Lykàn is pretty much not fussy on which nasty hunters but it's likely he'll hunt the closest perceived perps. like the gnomes, giants, spriggans etc.

Quince Medvyed |

I got to admit its fun to have a gnome with us. Great name by the way.
I have played several versions of a pyro gnome Bazzle Blasthazzard he would approve of Sindri Cindermage.

Dinenen |

Gnomes.
PFS character Fire Sorcerer The Great Swarmholio.
Yes, I tired to play him as close to The Great Cornholio as I could manage. He also always stopped at bakeries and bought all the cinnamon cookies he could get, leading to comments like "Bad fighter! No cookies for you!"
Not every character gets played straight. But the more outrageous the character plays, the more important it is for them to be contributing. Gnome Fire Sorcerer makes a really good blast mage.

GM Wolf |

NICE!!!
Yay Sindri is back!
Now we just need Ick, Ack, Ickhor..., Cleonora, and a few others to check back in. I know not all of us are sneaky but at least you could role play a bit...
Meanwhile I hope to know which way our scouts are going... It is ironic to see how this group is playing this out. My other group just charged in, ran away, then killed everything...

Cleonora Petalouda |

So, I got a bit of bad news today, my grandfather is in the hospital. His lung keeps filling with fluid and they found a mass at the bottom. The filling of his lung isn't treatable... and we're not sure about the mass yet. But they have begun to speak about hospice care... his time is limited... So it is very likely I might vanish for a few days, if that be to help take care of him or to be there to say goodbye.

Dinenen |

Spend the time you can with family. We're not that important.

Quince Medvyed |

So at the start of our new campaign here the GM asked us to play through a year of down time that would resolve a few things for the Kingdom and prep at the start we were just about to move from Barony to Duchy. Now our nation is now big enough that we are no longer a Barony but we have graduated to a Duchy. So That would mean that the Lord Commander of the Greenwatch also bears the title Duke. The aristocratic title is more meaningful for our political relationships with Restov and Brevoy. Because the Greenwatch Compact has a succession based on a Lord Commander chosen from among the High Council. Both Lord Commander and Duke are correct. We literally kept using both and then just went with Baron for so long we forgot we were quasi-democratic or an oligarchy I guess. But we just added both titles. So that either would work. Whoever is chosen as the Lord or Lady Commander of the Greenwatch Wardens is also the Duke (eventually King) of the nation of Greenwatch.

Quince Medvyed |

I added a new open Journal to the landing page of the slideshow. If you click on it shows the Varnhold map along with things we have learned in character so far.

Quince Medvyed |

What do we know of Spriggans?
What knowledge would be applicable?

Lykàn Delĩss |

Does anything come of my scouting? I'll go across the river if needed as well.

GM Wolf |

Lykan have you been reading my spoilers to you? If you had responded to my spoiler we could have possibly moved you through the town but as I had not heard from you I just summed it up.
Though I summed up your and Dinenen's scouting together:
"Lycan and Dinenen return soon after the trench is built. They report just a few individuals in the fort. One small one in the main tower, one in the watch tower over the gate, the large one with four wolves. Likely there is more but neither of them entered the fort."
Spriggans, what is a spriggan? K Local I believe, it is a gnome race of sorts...

Lykàn Delĩss |

No Knowledge (local) and ok. We got the information.
Then I believe we have the numbers to go ahead towards the fort and just bypass the ravens.
Or deal with them first.

Quince Medvyed |

Spriggans, what is a spriggan? K Local I believe, it is a gnome race of sorts...
I thought someone used that word in character to describe guys at the fort.
Knowledge local: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (8) + 11 = 19

Quince Medvyed |

So just put some things out there. Quince is a thinker and a planner.
But as a player who was picked by players from a previous campaign to be the Duke. I also am from a meta-perspective want to give a all ideas are welcome on something like this. We all will have opinions in and out of character on approaching the fort and what will likely be a fight. But as a player I didn't want this to devolve into my character is boss and gives commands. The flip side to that is I don't want things to start to seem like Quince is dithering either.

On my phone, where I hate posting:
25 years military service and 10 years civil service as a DoD civilian so far. I'm not the least disturbed by implementation of an inclusive leadership style in a hierarchy.
When we showed up, you were identified as the pinnacle of this hierarchy.
The more lawfully inclined characters may have to be drawn out of inherently subservient behavior.

GM Wolf |

Lykan good points, now it is good to say them in character!
Well stated sir!!! Quince that is well communicated! You might want to communicate it as well in character some way.
Spriggans resemble ugly gnomes with an alien, feral appearance. Many are gaunt and haggard.
When the gnomes first traveled to the mortal realm from the distant land of the fey, some found the Material Plane so strange and terrifying that they lost their sense of joy. Seeing only the threats of the new world but none of its wonders, they grimly resolved to survive no matter the cost. Their innate magic responded to this twisted goal by reshaping them in mind and body over the course of many generations, transforming them into the creatures known as spriggans. Love, happiness, and beauty have no meaning for these poor souls, so they lead lives of violence and malice. The best they can manage in place of positive emotions is a muted satisfaction when they make another suffer.
Spriggans resemble ugly gnomes with an alien, feral appearance. Many are gaunt and haggard. When magically enlarged, they look the same except much more hale and muscular. Yes they can become Large within a blink of an eye!
Languages Aklo, Gnome
In their small form they also have sneak attack!

Jorne Fyrestone |

The more lawfully inclined characters may have to be drawn out of inherently subservient behavior.
Too true! Most of the lawful characters are more apt to follow your orders. Though those that are chaotic might even oppose your actions or at least would want to point out other options, depending on how chaotic you are really playing your character.
To that point I am considering my alignment has changed some since the last time I was played... Yes that is right, I just changed my alignment from NG to LG!

Makes sense. Part of my reasoning in posting was just to say. That if Quince seems like he doesn't want to make a decision please note Quince's player's goal of wanting to have new players have as much a voice as possible. Just adding that 2 cents to any in character appraisals of his leadership.

Quince Medvyed |

Oh I am planning on it. The prerequisites include 7th level.
But yeah. Its on my radar.

I'll be intense.

Nightcrawler and Wolverine were on the same team for along time. Be intense Lykan, be a gnome Sindiri (goofy would be a redundancy).
