Hmm... is there no way of getting up from prone without provoking an AoO without a specific feat/talent that allows just that? Thought Acrobatics might do it but was proven wrong.

I'm going to amend the result.
Cairee and Zahra accomplished successful aid rolls to Tymythy's performance. But, as bonuses are rated differently here (eg. +1 to 5 BAB get a +1 to performance check) so a +1 to Tymythy's roll. As he rolled a 14 and needed a 15, it just puts him over. The crowd's attitude is moved from friendly to helpful on the 'first blood roll' and he gets a victory point on the 'multiple hits' roll.
Zahra al Asmar
Is Zahra on some sort of initiative as well? Just wondering if she can go again or or was her last thing her initiative for this round?
GM Corey Homebrew
I always hate it when you think you've spoken eloquent words that should help in changing someone's mind and then roll crappy :(
Me to.
Sometimes I roll and try to write a post to match.
Usually I write the post. Roll. Then explain the result. For example you might say people were too focused on watching the desperate Flay.
Or, Zahra's words and her voice didn't match. Her words were thoughtful but hr voice was pleading.
I often blame a bad roll on environment or luck. a la: the wind picked up suddenly and the flapping of the tent panels made it difficult to hear.
What I hate most is when one makes a competent character and then rolls consistently bad.

Tymythy was 100% in the "winner gets to win" mode and wasn't expecting to be naming his reward. If either of you have preference go ahead, if not I'll be voting for the "why and for whom" line of answers as reward.
Zahra al Asmar
Zahra would vote for “pretend we were never here” and then get the hell out of alHufra :)

Ah. I didn't get that there was some actual magic in the air - I took the old messenger's earlier words as grudging agreement because he didn't see a way of refusing, not that he actually was physically unable to. Cool. Does this Brotherhood of the Moon ring anyone's bells? Assuming it's some local group Tymythy could hardly know about it.

The old messenger elongated the symbols but the other name for the brotherhood of the moon if Fida Hurras. You have come across this name before. When you fought the men who broke into Zaharia’s home. I think they mentioned the Fida Hurras. It was the group you went to the opera to learn more about … but the wizard (if ever a wiz he was) gave you nothing.

face palm I meant to wish you a happy birthday when Ang wrote it but then I got side tracked...Happy belated Birthday! Glad it was indeed a happy one :)
Am I correct in that the Fida Hurras kidnapped all of us? I thought they were the ones that we initially escaped from. But it's very possible I misunderstood.

You may want to reread the first page of gameplay. Some details you may have forgotten will have new light. Read anything under the title: 'They Don't Haggle'
The people who kidnapped 'you' seemed to have the intent to bring you to the Fida Hurras. The kidnappers didn't seem to be Hurras themselves, more like a small group of contractors that were skilled at kidnapping and smuggling.
They brought you to a woman's house and you heard the name of her paymaster (Arrun).
The smuggling contractors were run by a man named Quard (who was killed by aracthropoi or ettercap). Some of his people: Casha Anhidar (bossy but capable), the idiot Horith, and someone named Boodigali. Don't worry about remembering their names. I will give some exposition when necessary.
It now seems that the Fida Hurras have been dogging Cyra for nearly a year and coercing her to aid in her sister's capture.
What does that mean for the rest of the team???
Gonna' have to stay tuned.
Zahra al Asmar
Thanks for the Cairee! I will do the same.
I had gone back and read some of the first happenings but had completely missed that the Fida Hurras had ‘hired’ the slavers to get Zahra. I will go back and read the suggested part again. Thanks Corey!

Dream scenes are cool! Any particular tone you'd like us to go for, or do we just leave it to you to twist things to your liking? Anyway, will take a minute to get to that - next 48 hours are gonna be rough.

Love the end to Zahra’s dream! Although the dead marionette is the stuff of nightmares. Good thing I never remember my dreams, good or bad…
GM Corey Homebrew
Hi all - Cairee isn't waking up. She is choking. It isn't a dream.
also,
You've:
fought the three guys that broke into Zahra's house
met the animals of the garden
trained with Haseena
fought some city bandits
gone to the opera
fought a familiar
met the leader of the 'Servants of the Great Red Dragon'
gone to the market
traveled for four and a half days along the desert's edge
fought hyena
escaped the lightning sands
met some denizens of alHufra
got involved in a prison riot
escaped the pit
got involved in a performance challenge
and learned a lot about eachother
I think that means ...
everyone level up
Zahra al Asmar
Sweet! Level up :)
Quick question, Zahra already has Mage Armor but she gets it as a bonus spell at 3rd level because of her bloodline...would you allow her to reallocate that spell slot to a spell she didn't previously know?
Dounia Mehar Mehek Ghali
Hurrah for leveling up!
BAB+1
Fort and Will save +1
Danger sense
Finesse training FINALLY!!
SA 2d6
+1 in following skills
acrobatics, bluff, climb, disable device, escape arist, heal, k geog, k local, perception, stealth, survival, bground - perform qunuanauan and sleight of hand
What do we do for HP? Half +1?
Tymythy-son-of-Stywyrt
Nice... this level-up for Tymythy was that complicated one we discussed way back when... dip into Fighter for an extra feat, retrain Spear Finesse into Weapon Focus (longspear), then pick both Spear Dancing Style and Spear Dancing Spiral (spiral does what the Spear Finesse did earlier). Requires Tymythy to buy a new weapon, and retraining calls for a teacher, so might have to wait until we get back into town and Tymythy can do a bit of sparring with those monks we met just before leaving for this desert adventure.

Don't forget your 3rd lvl feat

This one I think should be ok. Mage Armour is pretty much a necessary spell for spell casters. Unlike Tymythy, who is going for a more complex character combo, I'll say that is ok. It's a class feature and sorcerers don't get many of those.
Some of the class features (like getting Mage Armour at 3rd level) don't really feel like bonuses
Tymythy-son-of-Stywyrt
The proper path would be to take feats you can take now and retrain what you have to at a rate of 5days per feat.
Trouble is, the two feats I can take now are useless (and worse, don't make sense unless I get a new weapon) unless I get the third , and that requires retraining.
Zahra al Asmar
Level Up:
+1 Fort, +1 Ref
+1 Spells per day (1st level)
+1 1st level spell
+4 HP (I don't think I get another HP bonus from Toughness until I level past 3rd level)
Skills:
1rank Knowledge(local)
1rank Spellcraft
1rank into both background skills
Bloodline Bonus Spell: Mage Armor
Bloodline Power: Dragon Resistances - resist 5 to cold, +1 natural armor bonus
Feat: Still Spell
1st level spell: Snowball
Can I reserve choosing the spell that I switch out Mage Armor for? She's still in the middle of nowhere and hasn't been exposed to that many new kinds of spells that she may have learned. Unless you're ok with me just having Zahra intuitively know a spell.
Tymythy-son-of-Stywyrt
Cool - the only cost is less training time so sure. Pick what feat you can and select the rest when you have a chace to train. It's a good sacrifice/trade for a bending of the rules.
Another question - woud it be OK to take Skirmisher or Gladiator fighter archetype? Skirmisher is pretty close to what I see as Tymythy's cultural fighting style, while Gladiator would be suitable if there are more performance battles in our future.

I love skirmisher, by all means take it.
I think performance combat will come up more organically in the game so I don't know how often it will happen. But if you take Gladiator then it will naturally happen more frequently.

She’ll choose Grease as her other spell.
