"Three bloody days on this godsforsaken island and NOW ye tells us...," Reijo rhetorically asks Aerys.

Reijo is among those getting restless. Camping out on the beach for a night was fine. But why some wanted to stick around on the beach to, what, live out the rest of our lives, was beyond him... and his patience.

Looking about at the sky, the cycles of the ocean waves, and the lay of the land, Reijo tries to discern whether heading east or heading west along the shore would make more sense as far as avoiding hazards and finding a location that would be more suitable to building a Chelaxian colony.

"Aye, let's be off then love," he replies to Sashsa with a grin.

Overhearing Jask, Reijo suddenly freezes for a short moment.

'Bloody hells, I forgot about the key...'

"Yer still shackled?!" Reijo feigns sympathy for Jask. Reijo uses a bit of sleight of hand to pretend he grabs the key he already has from Bellamy's belt. "Blindey, yer loosin' yer bloody marbles methinks! I told ye ta give this ta him the other day!"

Shaking his head at the alleged daftness of his friend that he's now thrown under the bus, "Here ya go mate." Reijo tries to unlock Jask's manacles with the key he found.

Figure out whether east or west is least hazardous / most likely to find a Chelaxian colony.

Fool Jask and others watching that Bellamy had the key the whole time and daftly forgot about it. LOL!

Shaedeen glares a bit at Aerys's back when the pirate isn't watching. "Who died and left her boss?" the young rogue whispers to Thurden. "Weeks and weeks at see and we barely see or hear a peep from her--especially when her help would've been useful when the assassins hit the Throaty Mermaid--but now she wants to be front and center, barking orders like she's some bloody pirate captain! She doesn't give me orders!"

After (presumably) unlocking Jask's manacles, Reijo smirks for a moment. He seems momentarily amused by his own private thoughts.

To see if Reijo overhears Shaedeen's whispering to Thurden...

The key fits, and turning it made the shackles binding Jask fall away clattering to the ground. Jask gingerly rubbed at the revealed scabbed and bleeding wounds where the metal had rubbed his skin raw.

Tears abruptly came to his eyes and he sank down to his knees.
"Thank you." He whispered.
He raised his hands to the air as if embracing the sun.
"This is the most free I've been in four years. Thank you; thank you..." He said with feeling.


Walking west along the shore, the jungle is similarly impassable; with only a few rills of freshwater streaming from under the eves and down to the ocean surf.
About noon you reach what you realize is the tip of a penninsula on the island's northwest. Looking around, you realize that there is an immense miles wide lagoon to your south and southeast.
A dimetrodon (a small colorful pteranodon with venomous fangs) nest sits up at the top of a 50 ft cliff. Several of them hiss as you approach.
Past the surf to the north is a shipwreck that is still mostly intact.

Sunny is innitially startled at the loud noise.. before rallying and offering Aerys support.

"Hey... hey there... Is all okeys..." She smiles in return at the lass to show no hard feelings and that she undestands. finishing helping Miss Aerys gather her things and start walking.

As they walk and explore more Sunny's large blue eyes open wide in amazment and wonder at the vista that expands before them. She helps people stop and take their fill of fresh water and simple washing at the fresh water rills,

Survival:1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14 Hoping the cooller waters helps people's dispositions. Eventually.. eyeing both this new wreck and the lizards they are approaching Sunny slows the group and waives.

"Uhm.. Maybe we should be gettin' ready ta' settle afore tha' night agin?" She suggests, looking back toward the closest fresh water stream.

"Maybe set up such that them lizards dun't come sniffin' an', in'a mornin', we can be lookin' at yon ship?" She grins to Miss Aerys,

"Mey be we done found yer fixer upper, hey?" (^_^)

Survival:1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7 (To start settling for the night)

Sunny looks towards the jungle.

"Maybe on tha' morrow we can be lookin' at goin' cross land ta be avoidin' them lizards an' anything that be eatin' 'em, like?"

"Don't worry 'bout it," Reijo mutters under his breath into Bellamy's ear.

"No worries, mate." He remarks to the newly freed Jask after turning back to him. Reijo eyeballs the emotive display with a satisfied expression... and hidden suspicion.

Does Reijo sense Jask is being genuine? Or does he suspect it's an act?

"'ello. Well... that might bloody work now." On spotting the ship, Reijo eyeballs Aerys through a puff of his own smoke with squinty-eyed suspicion...

Following the shoreline seems simple enough, but Reijo also helps the group notice the fresh water streams, checks that the water's safe to drink, etc.
Survival: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18

Does Aerys seem for real? It's uncanny to Reijo that, one moment the woman mentions we might find a salvageable ship, and a few hours later, there one is? Maybe this island is simply dangerous for ships, but... for Reijo, that's a little too coincidental.
Sense Motive: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (10) - 1 = 9

Camris - How far away are the dimetrodons from us, and from the ship? Reijo would immediately start walking to explore and analyze the ship for a repairs estimate if the creatures pose no immediate threat.

"Or," Reijo replies, "I inspect that there ship an' see what it be needin' ta launch."

Reijo eyeballs the flying lizards, wondering if it's safely far enough for him to approach the ship and examine it without becoming food for their young.

Reijo:
Jask looks honest about his gratitude for his freedom.
Aerys seems like... 'contents under pressure'. You don't see any particular motivation, but... seems likely she had some kind of trauma she hasn't recovered from. And from the looks of it, without some kind of medical intervention, might never.

The Dimetrodon nest is up 50' in a little fissure in the cliff behind you. The winged lizards put up a squawk, but aren't going to attack unless you approach more closely.


"Oh! Those little guys are so CUTE!" Said Sasha unexpectedly of the Dimetrodons. Apparently she had spotted some hatchlings.
"I want to get one!" She said, and immediately started climbing up the shear cliff towards the nest.


Aerys took one look at the ship and snorted her dismissal. She sat down and stared out to sea, eating some of the sea scorpion meat wrapped in leaves they had acquired and cooked along the way.


The wrecked ship, up close, doesn't look too bad. But without masts or the lower third of its hull, it's not going anywhere.
It is lodged firmly on the reef about fifty yards off the beach, well within swimming distance, if you happen to be trained in swimming.

Knowledge:Engineering DC10 OR Profession:Sailor DC10:
Aside from the lower hull damage and missing masts, it looks pretty intact. It might well be unpilfered by salvagers.


Gelik, still looking perfectly groomed and clothed (magic no doubt), sat the depressed elf clerk he had been guiding since the stranding, looked up at Sasha with amazement.
"Sasha! SASHA! What are you doing?" He called up to her as she climbed.

Scratching his beard, Reijo grimaces at the ship closer up.

"Hmpf," the gruff sailor mutters before taking another puff of his pipe. "She'll be needin' new masts, an' her lower deck be shot ta s#!^..."

He turns to look back at the base camp they came from. "But with some salvage, some wood an' tools, I could patch her up by t'morrow, p'rhaps..."

Hearing Gelik, Reijo turns from his ship examination to spot his insane new ladyfriend climbing to certain death.

"What th'bloody hells are ye DOIN'?!"

He stares up at the flying lizards, then looks back down at the foolish Sasha.

After hesitating a moment, he mutters to himself, "Bloody waste of a saucy wench, it'd be". He then bolts to grab and pull her back down by her ankles.

Grapple Sasha and pull her down.

Camris - Did we spot any masts back at the base camp, or along the way, from our original ship for instance? Maybe we can salvage them, use the wood and attach them to this relatively more intact ship.


Sasha is able to climb up about 20 ft, and both Sunny and Reijo have just started to climb after her when...
The diving adult dimetrodons make her duck repeatedly, checking her progress upward and, the brittle cliff face broke under her fingers, causing her to fall to the base of the cliff with an outraged squawk.
Sunny and/or Reijo can catch her with an CMB roll.

Looking around, you can see Bellamy swimming through the surf, about halfway out to the wreck.

Shaedeen doesn't take a shot at the swooping dino for fear of hitting Sasha. She's not surprised when the redhead loses her grip and starts to plummet to the ground. When Bellamy calls out to Reijo, the old coot's already too far out to sea for the teen rogue to do anything--she's not the greatest swimmer.

It's bad enough to be shipwrecked on an uncharted island. Why did I have to be stranded with a bunch of lunatics??!!

She gives Aerys the ol' side-eyes, almost daring Miss Bossypants to start something.

Bellamy hears as Reijo's hollering voice rapidly grows farther away from him.

"Or I'll kill ya in yer sleeeeep..." he grumbles to himself with a chuckle as he makes his way over to the dimetredon's cliff face.

Fast approaching the falling fool woman, Reijo plans an enjoyable evening in advance: he attempts to gracefully, and with dramatic flair (to get her hot), catch Sasha in his arms.

CMB check, catch Sasha: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23


Sasha fell directly into Reijo's arms, the force of which slammed them both down onto Sunny, and then all of them pelted with pumice rocks falling off of the cliff overhead (2hp nonlethal to those three).

"Hey thanks loverboy!" Sasha said, giving Reijo a huge sloppy kiss as she stood up again, brushing off the rocks.
"Oh, Sunny! Sorry about that." She said, pulling up Sunny and seeing if she was alright.
She looked up the cliff face to where the flying lizards were fluttering about, ridiculing the bipeds below in their hissing language.
"#%#$% it. There's no way to get up to that nest..." She muttered under her breath, clearly obsessing over getting a Dimetrodon chick to raise herself.

"Is anyone injured? I can help with that." He asked, his eyes gazing into Sunny's.

Sunny catche sher breath back and accepts people's hands, bringing Sasha and Jask closer for a greatful hug of thanks. The tanned Elf smiles at Sasha,

"That's all okeys." She follows the other woman's glance, "Maybe we can be workin' somat out wi' tha' birdys when there' a definite way off this place, huh?" She offers as a suggestion. GLanicng to Jask she smiles.

"I be thinkin' if'n ye've some soothin' then Sasha an' m'self can be.." She blinks her large blue eyes.

Shaedeen watches the impromptu displays of cliff-diving and shipwreck shuffling wordlessly. She then whispers to Thurden, "I hope there are no unfriendly natives or beasts on this island. These kooks are gonna get us all killed with their recklessness!"

Ick--almost 4 months since Thurden's player last posted; I hope we didn't lose him. I'd have had Shae whisper to Reijo instead, but he seems to have his hands full already with Sasha (literally) and Bellamy (figuratively).

Shaedeen should get in on any channeled healing; I think she got nipped by the sea scorpions a long time ago.

Caught between wanting to chastise Sasha for her foolishness and wanting to do... something else with her, her mouth puts an end to the former option real fast.

"Mmmhmm, of course love."

Looking up with her, his expression momentarily hints at thinking she's out of her mind.

"Uh... right love. Yeah, maybe later," he adds to Sunny's suggestion with a hint of insincerity. 'Maybe bloody never, ye blitherin' fool...'

Returning fully back to his "romantic" side, Reijo's sure to flex his muscular biceps more than necessary as he smirks and winks at Sasha in his arms, carrying the foolish yet redeemingly voluptuous lady back before suavely setting her back on her feet.

When Jask offers his healing, Reijo shrugs at the slight bruising. "Meh, ain't worth the trouble mate."

Reijo scowls at Bellamy's enthusiasm for a short moment before grinning. And his grin grows even wider spotting Sunny waving back at the blind sailor, as if he can see her. "Ha! Blindey's lookin' fer treasure, eh?! Keep yer eyes peeled, matey!"

Reijo's down 5 hp, and while's he's too macho to ask for help, he will not decline Jask's or anyone else's healing aid if they heal him anyway.

For pretending to think it's a good idea to come back for a baby dimetrodon, secretly hoping Sasha later forgets about it.

Jask gently took Sunny's hands.

Stumbling up on the beach, he held out a pouch of 40 cut gemstones.

On closer examination, they turn out to be Agates; an ornimental gemstone type worth about 1 crown each.


When the break is over, Aerys and Ishirou led the castaways around the surprisingly narrow point and SE around the curve of the protected nearly waveless water of the brilliant aquamarine lagoon.

Sunny gives Jask a freindly hug in thanks for his shoothing akills before bouncing off and happily skips along the sandy beach shore. Sometimes drifting closer and splashing through the shallow waters of the lagoon. (^_^)

Later, she slides close to Reijo and whispers so the old man can't overhear easily. "What's Bellamy's story? You call him Blindey, and him mistaking agates for emeralds lends some credence to the nickname, but.... How'd he even spy the shipwreck offshore if he's blind? Is he just visually limited...mostly blind?"

A while later, Shae spots and points out a footprint in some wet sand! She strides past it, leaving her own boot print next to the discovery before looping back to examine the size and depth differences.

No-Eyes reported that only the top two decks were intact, below that it was shattered and buried in sand. There were no inhabitants aside from some aggressive sea-scorpions. He was also of the impression the hulk had been picked over many times before.

Reijo nods to Jask's healing prayer. "Hmpf. So yer one of them holy rollers then." It was more of a statement than an inquiry.

"Huh," he remarks to Bellamy with a raised brow as he inspects the bag of brown gems that are definitely not emeralds. "Worth somethin', I suppose."

"Aye, Kitty." Though Reijo looks grumpy as usual, he gains a level of respect for the young lass for noticing that. "We go way back, Blindey an' me. He's got some kinda sight, methinks. Like s#!^, but it's somethin'. But just play along with his act."

He then looks Shaedeen right in the eyes. "I trusts him, 'bout as much as I can trust anyone." Which is not much, his tone implies. But, it's something.

When the footprint is pointed out, Reijo studies it...

Sunny and Shaedeen spot a muddle of tracks in the barely wet sand near the grass line. They headed south from your position along the beach, and they came out from a gap in the treeline to the east.

Reijo:
There are two sets of tracks, both humanoid.
One is boot shod, taller and heavier than the other by the pacing, and walking behind the first one. Probably male.
The other one is smaller and lighter, barefoot, walking ahead and probably female.
From the state of the sand, you peg the time as early yesterday.

"Here... Whut d'ye think they is..?" She asks Shaedeen of the other woman's ideas even as she absently begins to drift South in the direction of the imprints...

"Other survivors from the wreck of the Throaty Mermaid?" is Shaedeen's best guess. "Or maybe survivors from another wreck who've been on the island for a while."

After examining the tracks, Reijo adds, "Two sets of tracks. One's a barefoot lass. The other's larger and heavier, probably a man, wearin' boots. They came by here yesterday mornin', looks like."

"Could be either," he nods to Shaedeen's hypotheses while scratching his goatee. He looks around to see who is in the group right now, tries to recollect who was with the group on the first day here, and who is now missing...

Who's missing, if anyone?

At Reijo's assesment she blinks.

"Ooo! We should go find 'em!" She exclaims "If'n they's freinds we should be helpin' 'em an' if they is lost as us....uhm, well we should be helpin' em' too." She grins brightly. (^_^)

She begins to hesitantly scout along the path in the direction the footprints have gone.

Is checkin' fer nastys as well. Like stingy nettles an' lazin' sneks an' stuffs. (^_^)
