Sunny tilts her head even as she leans over the hole at Shaedeen's comment,
"Rilly? They in't all squished up from bein' in'a dirt all this time?" She frowns, though quite accepting of her freind's comment about what they've just uncovered.
"Is this all they done? Dug a hole an' done put this body in it?" Sunny tries to peer past the people digging in the botom of the pit.

Reijo Ilvonen |
As the party treks along the nighttime island's wet sands, Reijo seems less outspoken than usual. His pensive look might just be exhaustion. Or perhaps he's privately caught up in his head plotting his revenge against the captain that stranded him here...
Every so often, he gives a furrow-browed glare at Ishirou. Reijo trusts noone as far as he can throw them, and he trusts him even less.
When Shaedeen and Sunny whisper about the shipwrecks, he grumbles back under his breath, "Aye. We'll circle back. Pro'lly some lovely trinkets in 'em. And pro'lly our only way off this heap o'wet sand."
Examining the spot as Ishirou begins digging, his eyes light up. "Hmpf, might be somethin' there..." Retrieving his own small woodworking adze from his pack, he starts digging as well, and with somewhat more efficiency than Ishirou's dagger.
Spotting the dead dwarf, Reijo sighs. Lighting up his pipe, he ponders the scenario as he puffs away.
"Nah," he answers Sunny. "Sounds hollow ta me. Somethin' else is buried under'im."
Lighting up a torch from his pack with his lit pipe, Reijo moves a few of the other castaways to the side, makes his way down into the hole, and looks for a way to open the wooden plug.
Before doing so, he feels around for pockets and pouches, and sticks his hands into the dead dwarf's pockets. "In case those that off'd him left a key on'em. Ye never knows..."

"Ooo. Be careful it dun't all give way an' drop ye in't somat.' Though not being in the hole herself there's little she can do in the case of a trap or two. She looks around at the folliage.

As Reijo reached into the dead dwarfs slimy pockets..
As Sunny said "Be careful it dun't all give way an' drop ye in't somat...'

But then...
With a thrill of fear, you realize what happened to the rest of Captain Quellig's crew.
Slowly arising out of the muddy waters around you, the skeletal figures dressed in rotted pirate clothing come. Their mouths agape in silent screams, their empty eye sockets somehow seeing you, their clawed hands grasping at you, the skeleton pirates attack!

In the madness of the crew trying to swim in the racid water and fight off the skeleton pirates at the same time...
Shaedeen sunk immediately, but is able to swim up again and lash out with her rapier at skeleton 2 near Thurden, but missed.
Sunny swum back up, drawing her sword along the way. She swung her fist at one, but it bounced off the bones without effect. Sunny understands the water is technically 'fresh' but contaminated with decay and mud.
No-Eyes grasped the clay wall of the chamber to keep his head above water, and lashed out with his belaying pin; he connected, shattering an arm on skeleton 1.
Thurden plunged immediately to the bottom, then struggled to swim back to the surface.
(npc) Reijo was able to keep his head above water, and swung his cutlass at skeleton 2, clocking it for a couple of ribs broken.
Jask plunged to the bottom, and struggled to swim back to the surface.
Sasha also sank into the muddy depths.
Ishirou drew his sword and flailed around as he struggled to swim in the filthy water.

Thrusting her way off the wall, she lashed out with the hilt of her cutlass and dealt a great deal of crush damage to skeleton 6
(npc) Thurden kept a hold on the earthen wall. Kicking out blindly, he missed skeleton 6,
No-eyes is easily able to keep his head above water, and connected with skeleton 1 hard enough to do major damage with his belaying pin.
Jask fought his way to the surface again. You see his holy symbol thrust above the water and he called upon his connection to Nethys to summon a burst of positive energy that briefly lit up the entire bottom of the shaft. All the skeletons took crushing damage and Skeletons 1 and 6 were destroyed.
(npc) Reijo surfaced again, and furiously turned on skeleton 4, and connected hard enough to shatter skeleton 4.
Sasha climbed the wall to surface again. And this time, seeing four skeletons destroyed in rapid succession, just held on for now.
”Anyone seen Ishirou?” She called out.
Skeleton 3 slashed Jask twice for minor damage.
Skeleton 9 pursued Sunny and missed her.
At that moment, the dead eyed form of Ishirou surfaced without a sound. One deadly overhand slash of Ishirou’s katana cut Jask down brutally, and he sank without a trace except for the bloody water all around him.

Okay... important question.
Did Jask's spell do any healing?
If not Sunny is going to die in only a matter of rounds.
I don't think, with this new undead menace, Sunny can get to any one fast enough who's clear of comabt for a 'Heal skill' check....
As a player I am truly stumped.
Though, with reanimated people comming back.. well...I didn't think of playing a 'Zombie' Sunny. So, yeah, that's a new one...

As Shaedeen slaps her back and rubs stuff into her wounds Sunny hisses in pain, then notices Shaedeen's not as 'Adapted' to being in the water as her natural, tanned elvish self.
Sunny is conflicted, so many things need doing. Everything rushing together.
Sunny was a good five or ten feet under already. The better to sneak attack and flat footed the skellingtons.
The 'New' Undead Ishirou might be a whole different encounter though...
Am so hopin' for some soothin' soon...
So.. another round counted? Uhm...
I am SO hoping the undead are counting the water as 'Difficult terrain'. If they're 'Aquatic' as well... oh boy...

Sasha swung over a little on the wall and shouted at Reijo; ”Reijo? Reijo! Flank this one! Take him out quick! Before Ishiro gets close!”
She cut at the skeleton and hit it for moderate damage.
(npc) Reijo struggled to swim up again, and seeing the opportunity, shifted just enough to flank and attack skeleton 9. He managed to hit it with his bell guard and shatter it completely.
Skeleton 3 moved over to Sunny and lashed out, slashing her for three damage and trying to drag her under, but failed in that at least.
Skeleton 10 moved over to Sasha, slashed at her dealing four damage, and yanked her away from the wall and underwater with a shriek.
Shaedeen felt violent action somewhere below her position in the water, where Thurden disappeared, but then it stopped.
Ishirou silently approached Reijo, his dead eyes gleaming an unnatural red, and lifted his arm out of the water in an overhand slash at Reijo’s head with his deadly katana. Reijo is just able to turn in time to miss a parry, but his twist reduced a decapitation to a bleeding 4 point slash in his forehead. Just the damage, no actual bleed.
