"Oh." Sunny exclaims seeing two of the newest peoples rush Shaedeen and another go for Sasha.

"Here. That dun't seem fair. Two playin' with one like that." So saying she leaves the cover of the trees and tries to 'Run around back' of the two engaging Shaedeen the better to simply throw herself into their legs and 'tangle/tackle' ONE them to the sands. The two peoples running South don't seem to keep Sunny's attention at all.

Hopefully bringing him down (^_^)

Actually, not wanting to be taking too much of a bite of the cherry. What are the odds/chances Sunny can bring both down? I am unsure so am happy to limit it to simply one.

This was not what she signed up for. All she hoped was a chance of a new lease of life. Instead it has her fighting for her light against... cannibals? Honestly she was in no mood to find out.

Once the others reached towards her, her eyes would turn white, and she would take a more confident stance with her staff.

SASHA

Sasha, rather than wrestling with the savage man, feinted high then stabbed him through the center torso with her sawtooth saber, tearing it free with a smile as he collapsed dead.

No-Eyes just follows Reijo, as he can't see anyone else.


Round 3 completed________________________

Shaedeen stabs at the first savage to reach her, and she manages to only graze the man's arm; before she can recover, the second savage seizes her! Still, she tries to twist and squirm out of the man's grip, but cannot break free.

Terry slashed the one as he reached for him for serious damage to his arm, then tries to stab the one which had reached out for him, but missed.

Sunny leaves the cover of the trees and tries to 'Run around back' of the two engaging Shaedeen the better to simply throw herself into their legs and 'tangle/tackle' ONE them to the sands.

Dess eyes would turn white, and she would take a more confident stance with her staff. But she missed.

Seadreamer taps himself on the chest Discharging Divine favor via fervor on self as he starts to swing in earnest at the one that has grabbed him. He hit him hard for serious damage.

(npc) Reijo darted across the soft sand and turned south after the retreating treasure chest. The others clearly had things in hand.

No-Eyes just follows Reijo, as he can't see anyone else.

The savage man let Shaedeen go, enraged at being cut. He pulled his broken cutlass and lashed out at her. broken cutlass attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11 for a possible 1d6 ⇒ 6 slashing damage.

The savage man rolled around on the damp sand and tried to reverse the grapple on Sunny.
CMB: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17 Success! Now he starts trying to pin her.

Two of the savage men combined to drag Seadreamer out of the hull of the derelict ship before Seadreamer hit one of them hard. They let go then and swung their broken cutlasses at him.
broken cutlass attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10 for a possible 1d6 ⇒ 5 slashing damage.
broken cutlass attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12 for a possible 1d6 ⇒ 6 slashing damage.

The savage man stopped trying to capture Terry, pulled his broken cutlass and attacked!

Two of the savage men reached out to grapple Dess and drag her away. (She can make an AoO)

They both succeed and start dragging her out of the derelict, the surf washing in until its up to their waists.

Shaedeen looks briefly toward the other people the savages are trying to capture, but there's no time for them yet: she shifts closer to Sunny and tries to again stab the grabby fellow she scratched previously.

Terry attempts to stop the one in front of him, but he's more worried about the savages making off with Destinie than he is with them managing to get 'Dreamer.

Reijo barks aloud as he swiftly catches up to the pair of savages carrying the treasure off. He draws his cutlass as he goes.

"Leavin' the party so soon?!"

Attempting to take advantage of their encumbrance, he swipes a hard kick at the legs of one of them in an attempt to drop both him and the treasure alike.

Alas, his worthy adversary is well accustomed to maneuvering in the sands, and too nimble to fall for such a maneuver...

(...or Reijo nearly tripped himself up and almost fell flat on his face, but he's sticking with the "worthy adversary" story!)

Actions: Move 30 ft., unarmed attack vs one of the savages carrying the treasure.
Attack, unarmed strike: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7

I do not provoke AoO's with unarmed strikes (feat).

And fight back she did. She even landed a punch on the shoulder. Unfortunately, it was hardly enough for the brutes to stop either of them from grabbing them by the arms and pull her way.

Grapple , break free: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

Her attempts to escape are completely pitiful.

Good god, her weakness to CMB attacks is catching up to her.


Round 4 completed__________________

Shaedeen she shifts closer to Sunny and tries to again stab the grabby fellow. The rapier is hard to maneuver in a grapple, but she managed to finally stab him good in the stomache for serious damage.
He let go of her with a shriek.

Sunny laughs merrily at the whirlwind of grappling in the dry sand. Seeming to find it all terrific fun.
She tried to reverse the grapple, but she slipped and the guy has the advantage. She does however manage to roll the pair over... down the beach towards the surf...

Terry attempts to stop the one in front of him, but missed as the internal confines of the hulk interfere with his slash.
He's more worried about the savages making off with, so he takes a step towards Dess and her savages.

Digging his feet in the sand, he managed to break an arm free, and hacks right through Savage 1! He falls in two pieces.

Reijo catches up to the pair of savages carrying the treasure off. He draws his cutlass as he goes.

No-Eyes huffed down the sandy beach after Reijo. ”Slow up Reijo boy!” But is unable to catch up with the long legged galoot.

Des fought back. And fight back she did. She even landed a punch on the shoulder. Unfortunately, it was hardly enough for the brutes to stop either of them from grabbing them by the arms and pull her way. Her attempts to escape are completely pitiful.

Sasha hustled up to where one of the savage men was trying to pin Sunny.
Shouting at them both to hold still, she stabbed down with her sawtooth saber, nailing the savage in the back for serious damage.

Sunny’s savage man rolled to his feet (avoiding Sasha’s AoO), pulling his broken cutlass and lashing out at Sasha in a rage.

Shaedeen’s savage man lashed out at her.

After dodging the broken cutlasses, Reijo gazes intently at the closer of the two men. He swings his own well crafted and not broken cutlass two-handed at him.

Seadreamer now in a bit of a fury, tries to drive the one in front of him into the dirt with his axe.
But he amusingly missed wildly.

Shaedeen easily dodges her foe's counter-attack and tries to again jab her rapier into the man's ribcage. She ran him through and he drops where he stood. Then she takes a careful step backwards, closer to the other nearby scrum.

Terry tries to force this last savage to stop pursuing him, but he lazily knocked the thrust aside.
"Gonna try to save Dess!" he calls out for 'Dreamer's benefit as he just walks off, hoping he hasn't already lost the chance to save Destiney.
The Savage made a wild swipe as he did so, dealing 1 point cutting damage to Terry’s chest.

Unfortunately, a rogue wave takes this moment to wash over her, simultaneously refreshing her but also frustrating her planned attack.
She stealthed in the water reflexively, picking up some wet sand as well.

Sasha attacked Sunny’s savage viciously, but slipped in the wave and sprawled at the savage’s feet. The savage lashed out at her as she went down, but missed wide.

Not seeing Sunny, the savage moved over to Shaedeen and lashed out at her.

Laughing at Seadreamer, the savage man lashed out at him.

Madder than a wet hen, the savage man pursued Terry and lunged at him.

The savage man stood up and chased after Dess. (Double move)

The savage man rolled around and hacked at No-Eyes, who blocked it with his trusty belaying pin before rolling to his feet.
”Hoo-eee, got a live one fer ye Reijo-boy!” Bellamy hooted before hopping to his feet as well.

The other savage man, enraged now, hacked back at Reijo.

Shaedeen takes a crafty step backward, the better to flank the last nearby foe opposite Sasha. When she judges the savage to be sufficiently distracted, the tricky teen flashes out her blade. For a moment it feels like old times--her and a female friend flanking and befuddling a common mark. Though Sasha's a more-than-capable fighter, she's no Tower Girl: Her moves are more predictable if more powerful than most of her fellow female thieves had been able to muster. Thus, Shaedeen's attack's a bit out of rhythm, doing a lot less damage than she would've liked.

And where the hell did Sunny go?! This is no time to be playing games!

Okeys... Not sure how much water is about the place in regards to Sunny and this fellow trying to put holes in her friends.

Was also hoping for dry sand but...

Sunny steps closer to the fellow who's not playing nicely with herself and her friends, reaching out and gently tapping him on the shoulder to get his attention.

With a quick glance behind to see what he's talking about, Reijo carefully steps a little closer to his old friend.

Sasha lept to her feet again, wet and sandy, swinging her mean looking sawtooth saber around, only to see the last savage man near them drop to the sand off of Shaedeen's rapier.
"Nice work Shaedeen!" She stopped, looking at Sunny as she popped out of the water as it retreated.
"Sunny! Why are you naked... again?" She asked.

Shaedeen takes a crafty step backward. When she judges the savage to be sufficiently distracted, the tricky teen flashes out her blade.
She ran her blade through the savage, and he fell to the surf line, quite dead.

Leaning into his shield as the broken cutlass cuts into his leg, Seadreamer grins at the savage, and brings his axe around to decapitate the man.
The savage man’s head flew off in a fountain of blood, only to fall into the retreating surf and be swept out to the lagoon.

Sunny suddenly erupted out of the retreating wave, to throw a handful of sand into the savage man’s face, only to see him fall to the surf off of Shaedeen’s rapier, quite dead.

Terry lashes out at the injured savage on the ship side of the two of them.
She thrust through him, dropping him on the spot.

Reijo stares down the other treasure-taking native down. Hearing his old companion call out a live one as he swings his blade, he succeeds only in fanning the man.

Before retreating a step behind Terry, shouting something no one can understand.

Savage man 9 lashed out at Reijo.

Shaedeen gave a quick nod and smile at Sasha's praise. Truth was, the teen thought she could fight better than what she had displayed in the free-for-all with the savages, but despite a lot of so-so stabs, she was beginning to leave a decent trail of bodies behind her!

Jogging down the wet sand about as fast as her short legs will go, Shae shouts a hearty "Ahoy!" to the dwarf, who'd apparently just beheaded another savage. Not stopping to exchange pleasantries just yet, the gal reached the prow of the shipwreck and beheld more strangers and more fighting beyond.

Shaedeen Perception Check: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23

At first blush, Shae thought that the two strangers further down the beach were both female. Great--more competition trying to keep me from becoming this island's alpha female! she groused mentally. Her sharp eye, however, realized that while the blonde was definitely a very pretty young woman, the red-haired one's body didn't match the effeminate face.

That one's a boy. Pretty, but a boy! Some elf blood, maybe?

Again, though, there was no time to exchange greetings. Closer by, a brute was trying to kill poor No-Eyes. Ol' Blindey, as Reijo called the cook, had perhaps saved her life with his healing after the life-and-death battle in the treasure pit; it was time for her to repay the favor.

"Hey, Jungle Boy!" she yells at No-Eyes's attacker. "Why don't you pick on someone your own size? Or try your luck against a little girl like me?"

Double move and some yapping this round.

I see the text saying Dess stepped back behind me, so I'm going to work with her in that location instead of what I see on the map.

Terry steps around the savage, calling out "Get further back than that, Dess" in Aquan, knowing that she'll understand him during the fight.

The he attempts to put the sharp pointy thing in the soft, squishy bits of the man before him.

Initially, Sunny stares a little confused as her hand full of sand seems to make the fellow fall over. Then she registers Sasha'a words and looks down at her tanned self. Then begins to look about in the tumbling waves of the surf.

And is totally confounded that her cloth drapings have been washed off by the invigorating waves.

"Ah!" Is all she can exclaim, then notices/hears people still having trouble with other rather frisky-tanned peoples. Thence quickly turning and disappearing INTO the waves.

Okay. Sunny 'can' move 30' straight into the surf (I marked it with some scribbles. Sorry?). Then, with her swim speed... can she 'Cut a corner' and swim UNDER the beached boat? Or at least closer to the stern or something? All the better to pop out of the surf near Dress and Terry?

Basically, taking a 'Running' action of moving 60' parallel with the shore?

Or is that too much?

Reijo smirks back as the blood drips from his forehead.

"If it's blood yer after..."

After his cutlass gashes the native man's chest open, spraying arterial blood into his own face and shirt, he then finishes his sentence.

"...then HERE YE GOES!"

Wiping the blood from his face, he turns to see two more islanders getting ganged up on by Bellamy and a few new folks. The blood-coated strong man in motley attire then closes in on the one Bellamy just crippled, sure to give a nod to the dwarf and, he notices, the pretty lady also flanking him.

"Oi mateys!" he gruffly states aloud as he steps up. "We should keep two ov'em alive, eh? One for questioning, the other fer... motivation."

Actions: Attack savage (standard), move 10 ft. (move).
Attack, cutlass: 1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 6 + 1 = 17

The newcomers eye each others warily as the late morning clouds gather rapidly, and warm rain starts to come down; slowly at first, with big fat drops, then gathering into monsoon level torrential downpour.

Shaedeen wipes the blood off her blade on one of the dead savages. She then sizes up the three other apparent castaways. Her "Ahoy!" to the dwarf had gone unanswered, so she was a bit wary of their intentions. As the rain gets heavy, she turns briefly to Reijo. "You think we could get out of the rain in the hold of that wreck...or is it a deathtrap just waiting to happen?"

Her eyes eventually settle on the chest the other trio had apparently pulled from the beached ship before the savages had stolen it away. Sashaying over to it, she asks, "Anything in that chest that might get damaged if it leaks?" She flashes a friendly smile, hoping that her tone sounds more more of curious than covetous. When she reaches the chest she looks to the three strangers. "If there is, I'll help someone carry it inside and out of the rain."

Sunny pops up in the surf with a triumphant "HAH!"

Only to realise she was holding clumps of seaweed and not the cloth that had been washed off her tanned self, which she had been looking for.

She wades ashore, looking about absently even as she drops the weeds, daintily stepping around the pair of former locals to stand near where everyone is gathering.

She smiles brightly at everyone, friends and new people alike, seeming unconcerned about the rain now falling. (^_^)

She even offers a friendly wave to folks.

"'Dreamer? Dess? You two well enough?" After ensuring no one was about to fall over in the next few moments, Terry turns towards the strangers, weapon still held casually in his hand. Not in a traditional fighting stance, but available.

"Are we well met? We could be. It depends on what you plan to do next, I think."

In response to Shaedeen, "She will provide some protection, but she's too many holes in her to be water tight. We just found the chest ourselves. Can't speak to how secure it is, yet, really."

As curious as Shae is about what's inside the chest--and who these three new folk are--a new thought brings more pressing matters to mind.

"We were recently shipwrecked near the northern tip of this island and have been wandering it ever since," the teen says to the strangers. "We recently were trapped in a deep pit that claimed the lives of some of our group. Two others avoided falling in, but they vanished while searching the jungle for vines to help pull us out."

Again Shaedeen looks to Reijo for approval as she speaks her next thoughts. "Maybe our comrades were taken by these tribesmen; maybe they're lying tied up in the brush just off this very beach, in need of our assistance. We should do a quick search for them, and it'd probably be safest if we did so in pairs."

To the strangers she adds, "This would be a great opportunity to show some goodwill toward us...if you were to help." Sticking out a small hand to any who will take it, the pale and scrawny gal sheathes her blade and says, "I'm Shaedeen, by the way."

The blood-soaked strong man by the treasure chest looks disappointed when he realizes none are left alive for questioning and "motivation"...

Fresh blood stains aside, he seems to keep a relatively neat appearance. He dons a dark blue vest over his brown cotton shirt, with hints of a mail shirt under that in turn. He wears brown pants and black leather boots. A red-and-gold striped handkerchief covers his dark brown head of hair, with looped earrings of brass and a bold red sash around his waist, all adding an odd sort of elegance to his motley attire. Hanging from his sturdy belt and buckled bandolier, his personal arsenal includes a sheathe for his fine cutlass in-hand, a boarding axe, daggers, and a hand crossbow. Several facial and forearm scars mar what would be a handsome face, speaking silent volumes to the man's brutal past.

Most striking of all are those icy blue eyes. When he meets your gaze, you feel as if he's staring right through you, or right down to your very soul...

Keeping one eye on the treasure, the grumpy man scrutinizes the strangers with his other as he cleans his face of the natives' blood with a rain-soaked rag. When Shaedeen looks to him, she mistakes his intent yet quiet gaze for approval.

It takes the intense man a while to realize Shaedeen was even talking. Talking too much for his liking, he suddenly realizes...

"AHhhhHEM!" he interrupts the teen with a somewhat forced throat-clearing.

He continues in a gravelly deep voice. "Aye, help would be lovely now but, first things first." He meets Terry's gaze after eyeballing the blade still in his hand.

"We ain't lookin' for a fight, love." He sheathes his own cutlass, and raises his hands momentarily to emphasize his point.

Looking up to the rainy sky, and then around at the other strangers, "What do ye's say we gather the booty back ta the ship, take cover in the wreck, then talky talk all we wants?"

What Reijo more or less looks like.

Reijo scrutinizes the three strangers and the wreck as Shaedeen talks with them. What can he spot of them or the ship that looks unusual, special, or meaningful? Markings, symbols, signs of wealth (or not), as well as an offhand guesstimate of the ship's safety as far as using it for shelter (i.e. without it collapsing on their heads)?
Perception: 10 + 5 = 15 Take 10 for several checks, as needed.

Shaedeen falls silent at Reijo's rebuke, though her green eyes narrow for just an instant. Then they return to their normal, somewhat curious expression. She knows that should she ever cross blades with the sailor, she likely won't be walking away, no matter how well she did against the savages. And this simply isn't a hill she's willing to die on. Not even close.

I never really liked Aerys or that stupid gnome, anyhow....

Still, in the name of potential future cooperation, she takes one handle of the chest and looks to the three strangers to see if any will offer to help carry it to the dubious shelter of the wreck until the heavy shower passes.

"Shelter's better. As said, I'm Terry, of Quent. That's Destinie. And that's Sea Dreamer."

Reijo: Quent? Tessa Fairwind, the Pirate Lord out of Quent, is a red-haired, pretty, half-elven lass. This youth looks a lot like her descriptions . . ..

Sunny stands, smiling brightly in the rain. Not seeming phased by the downpour. She happily falls in beside whoever seems the most accepting/friendly. Bare feet skudding through the damp sands as everyone moves towards the beached boat. (^_^)
