Sorry if my posts are a bit erratic and slow posting. Was doing some house cleaning up and I managed to step on a metal rake. Clocked myself in the side of the head and got a nice lump for the trick.
So, however, they manage to do it in the old comedies? Yeah, for real it fekkin' hurts in the flesh, as it were.
How does the quote go? The tragedy is me getting a paper cut. Comedy is someone else falling down a manhole to backing music. :P

"Sunny" |

Actually...since Sunny doesn't seem to have any pockets, Shaedeen thoughtfully takes the nekkid elf's third of the gemstones to carry for her. :D
Shae has a +4 modifier to Swim checks, so she can swim OK on her own in calm water. It's just during combat, where she has to roll higher than a 5 to make the check, that she has problems.
*Hugz their thoughtful freind who seems to think of everything* XD

Sunny's 'Climb' check for when it's her turn:1d20+3=6
Plus the helping from t'other folks up top an'a rope an' ll. (^_^)
Is...jus' gon'a take a lil longer. Is all...
Ooof. At least you'll land in water and not hard land. Murky creepy water, perhaps... but you'll probably live. :)

Reijo Ilvonen |

(Not sure what other bonuses are available)
I believe +10 according to this post by Camris, so you should be good.
Though after rereading that post now, I'm wondering if he meant for just one of us to roll and the rest just need to aid (i.e. beat just a DC 10)?

Okay.
BIG hugz to every one who's still with us. Yay!
So? After that fun encounter? DO we go up a level?
Can people, maybe, 'Retrain' quicky? I would reallylike to retweak Sunny to be better able to take up some more of the serious combat slack.
Are we putting out the call for new/extra people to be playing with? Might we find them along with Captain Vegan and Azuretta?
Yes, I know there are foot prints leading off with our other companions but... I think we need food, cleaining and extra bodys before we go searching out THAT problem.
Thoughts? Ideas? Comments? How is every one?

Reijo Ilvonen |

Hey Sunny, not bad here. Hope all is well with you and the others here. :)
I think we just got a shower of warm rain, so... I can't say we're clean, but we're definitely cleaner than a short while ago. I think the ocean is nearby though, so no harm in taking a quick dip.
We could probably use some breakfast before we do anything else. I think Bellamy also survived, so I think we're actually five now (3 PCs and 2 NPCs). We're down to just one cook now. :/
Given it's just 3 PCs, another recruit or two would definitely be handy right about now. I'm not the GM here, but I approve this message. :)

Reijo Ilvonen |

Treasure note:
If you took a couple of handfuls of the chest of mixed coins, I would call that a pound per handful.
Each pound would yield 60 copper, 30 silver, 7 gold and 1 platinum.
The coffer will yield a hundred ornamental gemstones. Blue quartz, hematite, obsidian and malachite. Each stone will average 10 crowns worth. (It is simple to wash the poison off.)
Reijo's taking 2 lbs of coins and 20 gems. I'm figuring with 5 survivors, we split it 20% each.

"Sunny" |

*Nods*
Aye. Just standing in a rain shower won't get peoples 'Clean'.
Taking time out at the river we found/crossed would seem to be the call.
While people wash clothes Sunny can be searching out food and 'Things' with her survival (Maybe bnonuses for this being 'Native' to Sunny?) then we can pick up at least two definite extra NPC's. Even if they only want to help carry things it'll still be a bonus.
Plus, maybe, if we squint, it's as good a place as any for the GM to introduce how ever many other 'Survivors' have washed up on this god's-forsaken rock.
Much cheers and very best wishes to all. (^_^)

Terry of Quent |

I'm from DM Fern's game. Since she did the hard close on the game, it went into my hidden archives. Until I received a DM, I didn't know about this opportunity.
A quick glance leaves me uncertain what the build rules in use are, so that makes it much harder to adapt. <grin>
Terry is a Rogue, but his archetype eliminates all the Trapfinding specials, and he has no points in Disable Device, so, NOT that kind of Rogue. He is a very capable face character, though, with typical Sneak Attack damage capabilities. As his current build shows, the plan is to include some Swashbuckler levels, which will increase his combat utility . . ..
So, this is as much a "What do the established players think?" post as it is a "Well, I'm interested enough to take a look." post.
And, yes, I checked to see if there was a recruitment thread attached before I posted in your discussion thread.

Shaedeen M. Valzanar |

Hey Terry!
I'll let Camris answer most of your questions, but I'll chip in a couple of things.
HERE is a link to the Recruitment thread for this campaign; Camris makes a new thread for each chapter of the campaign.
Also, Shaedeen (burglar archetype, trap spotter rogue talent) has the more 'traditional' rogue stuff covered...but she'd love having another flanking buddy!
It's probably worth pointing out a couple more things as well. First, we haven't hit the 'piratey' part of the story yet: Camris started with PFS "Murder of the Throaty Mermaid" scenario and shifted us to Book 1 of the Serpent's Skull AP. I think his ultimate plan may be to have a ship of pirates rescue us from Smuggler's Shiv (and force our lot into a life of piracy), but you'd have to ask him.
Also, this game's pace is a lot slower than DM Fern's (Yeah, I was actually peeking in and following that game's progress for a while), so that's something you might want to consider.

*Waves*
It was I who thought it would be a courtesy to send a message to folks in DM Fern's game after GM Camris opened up the offer to join.
Sunny is also 'Rogue' like.
Basically Sunny is a build attempt at making a 'Non lawful Monk'.
With hindsight? I'd probably rebuild her as my 'Swings big @ssed sword' variant of Sunny. Though that tends to have giant riding snak built into part of the package.
Any who, welcome and best of luck and wishes to youself and yours.

Terry of Quent |

Not you. One of the identified PCs is the oracle shown on the Character Tab as being played by Camris. Same name that's listed as the GM at the top of this screen.
Looks like a player GM.

Nope, not really. Camris uses a bunch of different screen names and avatars for the different NPCs in the game. No-Eyes is definitely a secondary NPC and has mostly been providing some healing after we lost our druid. Shaedeen, Sunny, and Reijo are the only PCs currently.

Terry of Quent |

Glad to hear it. The linked creation rules post has him listed as a PC, so, it isn't like the question comes from nowhere.

Hey Sunny!
If I'm remembering correctly, you're in your warm season. Just wanted to report that 24 hours ago, it was -10F (-23C) in my area. First time in my lifetime that we reached the double-digit negatives Fahrenheit.
In unrelated news, I made a giant pot of chili earlier this evening. :D

, |
*Hugz*
Please enjoy your chili. (^_^)
My mind blanks at thinking of temperatures that low. like, I've only been in actual snow once in my entire life. That for only about four hours. Snow barely deep enough to cover your shoes/boots.
Weather as your describing? Nope, nu-uh.
It's been a 'Mild' summer here for us. Temps barely making it into the high 30' C.
Humidity most days is very high, though.
So, we're definatly into our 'Rain' cycle. No more fires, now we watch out for flooding.
Wishing every one all the very best for where ever they are!

I believe I have adjusted Terry to 20 pt build, 2nd level, no EitR, with Background Skills, and 2 Traits only.
And I'm making a giant pot of red meatsauce. Gonna have spaghetti and meatballs tonight, and will make a Baked Ziti probably Thursday. We'll see how much sauce is left at that point. Normally we get 2 or 3 spaghetti nights and a ziti or massive lasagna out of one pot.

Welcome Terry of Quent!
I hope you like what you see. We’re currently most of the way through a prequel to Swords & Shackles
A quick glance leaves me uncertain what the build rules in use are, so that makes it much harder to adapt. <grin>
Sorry, they were in a previous module and I haven’t run a recruitment for this one yet.
In brief, here they are.- 20 point buy, 1st level.
- Core Races preferred, but any race can be accepted. Just make sure you have a backstory to justify your Drow/Klingon...
- All Pathfinder classes are allowed. Summoners are restricted to the Unchained version.
- 2 Traits, including one Campaign. You can take another trait if you take a drawback.
- Max HP at first, Average+1 on subsequent levels.
- Backstories are appreciated, but don't feel compelled to write a novel. You can keep your background as brief as you like it, just be sure to have some reason to be on a long voyage to Sargova.
- Early Firearms are allowed, but not common.
- The Skull & Shackles Players Guide is VERY handy. Pirates of the Inner Sea, Razor Coast Freebooter's Guide and Razor Coast Fire as She Bears will also be useful sources.
Player GM?
Default response to that is wariness. I'll have to look deeper.
This module has a bunch of NPCs, and one is an old PC of mine (No-Eyes) who’s in just for the comedy gold his interactions with grouchy Reijo bring to the table.

Seadreamer Stonebeard |

I also am a homeless privateer that would like to board another ship.
Give me a day to get him sorted out to your specs please, and I would love to join.
If the DM allows, I will be swapping classes to something I have been trying to get a complete game in on, but it never seems to happen.

Seadreamer Stonebeard |

Was thinking Basic WarPriest.
Will Dot the gameplay so it shows in my feed.
Edit, Background Skills ??

Terry of Quent |

'Dreamer's a better poster than I am.
When I followed the link to the build rules, I saw a later post that said "yes" to background skills.
Warpriest of WHOM? <evil grin>

Lookin' forwards ta' interactin' with peoples.

Seadreamer Stonebeard |

terry, that will work we lost a bet with sharkbail. (grin).
being a bit of a traditionalist, thinking a warpriest of Torag. after all the maker dont care where his people are, just that they follow his tenants.
Will have my profile update completed today.

24 new posts and only NOW I'm noticing this?!?...
* ahem *
Welcome aboard, new recruits!
Actually, I recognize Terry of Quent from way back when... Terry, Bellamy, and Reijo briefly played together for about a year in this S&S run back in 2013-2014. As you can see, Reijo and Bellamy go way back. But as was said, Bellamy as a NPC largely just adds charming banter with Reijo and some group healing when needed.
Anyway, I'm glad to see a familiar face in Terry, as well as a new one in Seadreamer. :)

And regarding class, I'm going the Barbarian (Sea Reaver) / Slayer / Inner Sea Pirate path with Reijo. So, kinda another roguish-fighting fellow here.

Thank you for the welcom Reijo.
And thank you Camris for taking in a shipless reaver. :)

Shaedeen and Sunny - Don't forget we heal from a full rest: our non-lethal damage is all gone, and we each regain 2 hp.
Camris - Do we regain hp equal to our level for a full night of rest (per standard rules)? Or do we also add our Con modifier (as some GMs house rule)?

Reijo Ilvonen |

Bellamy's got the best rum, it REALLY makes you feel good. :)
You know, if he takes the Brew Potion feat, he could actually make CLW potions that are also rum...

Hi.
Just so folks are aware.
Destinie from Fern's game has PM'd me about wanting to join.
Linky=> https://paizo.com/people/DestinieNicholae
Am guessing they've only just become aware of the offer what with the confusion of GM Fern sadly dropping their game and all.
Much cheers and best wishes to everyone.
