Mr. Biggs Sparklefoot |
Yes! We go find Ameiko! She make good drinks. Maybe go through front door? Likely not expect that! Mr. Biggs will hop up and try to look through a window, if there are any.

Mr. Biggs quickly realizes that all the windows have closed curtains on the inside. However, he notices from a particular angle that there is a portion where there is a glass dome on top of the building. There are no curtains there. The thought of him getting on top of the buildings reminds him of the Swallowtail festival raid where goblins fell from buildings while cackling at their cruelty.
Fiora Zantus |
"Odd. All the curtains are closed? I thought people would be working at the glassworks at day... surely they'd appreciate a bit of sunlight? makes this even more suspicious if you ask me," Fiora wonders. When it appears the front door is also locked, she frowns.
"Let's take a look around. Maybe one of the back doors wouldn't be locked? Or at least, not in full view of the public in case we have to force a door open..."
She stands ready to follow whomever took charge in entering the building from whichever desired manner.
Fiora Zantus |
Personally, I interpreted the map being updated with a list of possible entrances that the scene was also forwarded to where we're at the glassworks now... right?
Gareth, Warpriest of Desna |
Oh no, that's fine, I just didn't realize we actually left the tavern as there wasn't any sort of transition. We went from Gareth and Fiora talking to Bethana in the Rusty Dragon to suddenly being at the Glassworks without any hint that we left. I was just thoroughly confused is all.
"Well, we know Ameiko apparently went to the delivery door, perhaps we should start there? At least see if she actually entered that way?"
Assuming the group agrees, taking 10 on Survival(for a 19) to spot Ameiko's tracks at the delivery door.
Fiora Zantus |
"Might have been Ameiko?" Fiora suggests. "I'm still in favor of entering this entrance or the one all the way on the back end of the factory. That is, if we can open any of the doors..."
Just in case, she tries opening this one with a gentle tug.

Fiora approaches the people able to see them with a bright smile. "Hello there! Would you mind terribly leaving us to this investigation? We were asked by the Sheriff to inspect the Glassworks for possible safety hazards to the staff. Said they wanted the perspective of the heroes of Sandpoint at a surprise moment, so to get a better picture of it all."
Fiora Zantus |
"Can anyone open the door? We got to get in fast in case Ameiko is still in there!" Fiora urges, knowing full well she herself lacked the skills to lockpick it...
Mr. Biggs Sparklefoot |
Mr. Biggs might can open door! Though, door might not close afterwards...
Mr. Biggs states holding up his boom stick and a few other colorful items.
Not much help here unless we wanna try and blow through it. I'll also make notes of my extracts now.
Reduce person- 1/1
Targeted Bomb Admixture- 1/1
Gareth, Warpriest of Desna |
Gareth chuckles at the goblin's enthusiasm. "Hang on. Before we blow up the door, which would defeat the purpose of trying to be sneaky, let's try to open it with less boom." He says, and checks to see if the door is actually locked or just needs more than a gentle tug to open.
Fiora Zantus |
"Alexsander, can you pick a lock?" Fiora asks the Fetchling rogue, when it appears none of the other party members can do this subtly. "If not, we have to go and get a key. I guess since the glassworks is owned by ameiko's family, that we might be able to get one at their Estate if we explain the situation?"
Fiora Zantus |
Let's go from yellow, it seems the most obscured as mentioned before. Also seems to be facing a cliffside rather than the rest of town.
"Okay, get ready everyone. If she's still in there, we're gonna get her out. And we're gonna lay the smackdown on that a!%*$+* of a brother of hers if he dares show up, right!?" Fiora tries to get everyone pumped and focused, then follows the frontline in - whoever decided to go in first. It would certainly not be the healer!
For the earlier magic shopping trip, let's say she bought a wand of bless, a wand of cure light, 2 scrolls of sleep and 2 scrolls of lesser restoration for the party. That leaves her with 200 g spare, but it's generally useful spells to have around.

The door opens up into a corridor which isn't well illuminated, given the drawn curtains. To the northeast of the now open back door there is a double door. To the southeast, the corridor extends to a diagonal wall with a door on it, and then continues northeast. The southern wall has two windows. A torch is next to the entrance door, but it is not lit. From inside the building, a loud rumble coming from the furnace to the northeast can be clearly heard.
From the door to the northeast, high-pitched giggles, shrieks and glass breaking can be heard.
Please arrange yourselves in marching order.
GM Anthorg - RotR |
A quick test reveals the door to be unlocked. Peeking inside, Aleksander finds a very long room, which seems to be the main glassworking room. A furnace burns along the southeast wall of this room. Marble tables sit in the chamber, which look like the main working chamber. There are wooden tables cluttered with various tools close to the marble tables.
The furnace rumbles loudly which explains why the ruckus was so hard to hear. Various goblins laugh and shriek at a gruesome sight. A dead man is sitting in a chair in the middle of the room in a humiliating position. His identity is hard to recognize form this distance, since he is completely encased in glass. The goblins throw pieces of glass at the man and laugh loudly when they manage to hit him.
Spread around the room are severed limbs of various people. From their clothes, it seems they are glass workers.
Some pieces of broken glass litter the floor. Stepping on them will probably hurt. Glass can be identified by the yellow spots on the map.
The goblins are so entertained that they fail to notice anyone coming inside, but it is clear that staying in the room will quickly correct that.
Goblin colors for reference: White, purple, black, brown, red, green, blue, orange

"How many?" she whispers, and when Aleksander reponds, her eyes widen. "Nine!? Um... okay. We've got this. We just use chokepoints if we really have to. Right?"
Assuming we stay and agree to either charge in or wait and start firing from a distance, Fiora casts Bless on the party from her wand just prior to attacking. She also moves to take hold of one of the Sleep scrolls if there is time for that.
GM Anthorg - RotR |
Anyway.... I'll just roll initiative then.
The group stands by the door, waiting for the best moment to strike as they get noticed by the goblins.
Gobos: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19
Aleksander: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15
Fiora: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
Gareth: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 1 = 17
Grael: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12
Mr. Biggs: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20
Mr. Biggs acts first, then goblins then everyone.
