Mr. Biggs runs towards the goblin leader, pulling out a flask of orange liquid as he moves. He twirls the vial between his fingers.
He speaks in goblin to the rider.
I will demonstrate the abilities I have acquired over my life thanks to my experimentation in creating alchemical concoctions. In the vein of my goddess, I offer you one chance to surrender. If you do, and you direct your clan to depart this town never to return remotely to its locale I... ah to hell with it. He coughs and takes a pained expression.
You give up and leave, me no explode you again, and others no harm you.
Then to prove his point, he throws his bomb.

Great choice for music! :D Also, +2 to Hit, +1 Damage, and +2 vs Fear checks ROCKS! Go buffbots! lol
Unfortunately the morale bonusses on fear don't stack as the GM said, but the buffing will only get better from here :) Fiora gets repeatable hexes starting next level which can give selected enemies -2 to -4 to ac, among others, essentially also a large attack boost for the party. The entire build goal of Shaman/Bard gestalt for me was to combine the buffing of the bard along with the debuff hexes of the shaman while remaining an acceptable healer/arcane caster.
Aleksander Albus
Good turns. Just two things: Bless and Inspire courage bonuses vs fear don't stack (they're both morale bonus). Also, surprise round you only have a std action, so you don't double move on the charge, Aleksander. Could you redo your action?
Ok. I still run up, I just don't get as far. Attack later.
GM Anthorg - RotR
I noticed that a lot of you did a move and a standard action, so I moved everyone back and kept your standard actions. The added distance penalty for Mr. Biggs' bomb does not alter the result.
Mr. Biggs takes everyone by surprise, throwing a bomb at the goblin leader, hurting him badly and also wounding the semi-rodent mount. He shouts a war cry and his goblin soldiers prepare to charge the group.
Goblins: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18

Mr. Biggs: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23
Aleksander, Fiora and Mr. Biggs are faster than the enemies. The goblin song has died out in the city.
Aleks, Fiora and Mr. Biggs go first, then enemies then everyone again.
Fiora Zantus
Fiora moves south-south-east until she gets a clear shot, then nervously fires her light crossbow at the leader!

Grael Kraghelm
I had this psuedo-epic post written wherein Grael ran forward at full speed to challenge the leader and distract him...all before noticing the bit in Anthorg's post about OTHERS going after the enemies...and then realized that meant Grael. LOL
Fiora Zantus
@Grael, ah, bummer... Well, perhaps my shot hits him instead? If so, I can only figure it's divine intervention from Desna. Fiora has NO talent shooting whatsoever :)
GM Anthorg - RotR
@Fiora: Did you have your crossbow drawn? Anyway, he is flat footed, yes.
Being still distracted from the bomb, the goblin leader doesn't see Fiora's bolt coming and it hits him right in the neck, killing him. The other goblins, however, don't pay attention to him and still mean to charge.
The goblins are in a combat craze and don't seem to think they have a chance of failing.
Fiora Zantus
Considering there is a raid going on and we heard a cry for help nearby, i would have my weapon out.

sense motive: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17
Mr. Biggs lets out a small sigh.
So it seems, truly, I would be lying to say I feel no remorse, that easily could have been me.. Perhaps ones day I will serve Sarenrea by leading more of my kin into her warm embrace... Sadly, today I do her work in protecting others.
He draws another of his fluorescent vials and twirls it across his fingers as he speaks and moves to get a clear shot. He rests his sad but hardened eyes on their leader.
I can at least take you out with a bang. May you find forgiveness in the sun's flames.
A quick flick of his wrist sends the vial end over end directly towards the goblin leader.

Aleks finishes running forward as the leader is struck down by shot, so he attacks its hideous mount instead.

@Mr. Biggs: the leader was dead (sorry I didn't remove him from the map). You can retcon your action. If you use a ready action, you can keep your awesome rolls.
Aleksander slices the rodent-like dog's throat, making it fall to the side, dead. Meanwhile, the other goblins shriek and charge the fetchling. One of them, however, has the pompous civilian in sight. In response, he whimpers and cowers, trying to avoid his attacks.

The goblin slices the civilian, drawing blood. He lets out a very dramatic scream.
The cut was much smaller than what he is expressing.
Meanwhile, three of the other goblins manage to get past Aleksander's defenses and draw some of his blood. Aleks, take 5 combined damage
Whole party's up.
Grael Kraghelm
Seeing Aleksander surrounded, Grael gives a war cry and charges with his shield and hammer raised, plowing into the goblin south of his ally with formidible force!

"If you want healing, fall back! You're too far away!" Fiora shouts as she moves forward as fast as she can, though she remains very behind the charging frontline.

To her left, also out of channel reach, she sees a stranger take a very shallow cut yet cry as if receiving the deathblow in some Magnimarran theatre tragedy. "What's up with that guy? He barely got hit!" she informs those around her, mostly Gareth and Biggs.
Fiora moves forward diagonna towards the melee to try and get closer for channel purposes, but doesn't make it. Instead, she reloads her crossbow.
Aleksander Albus
Hissing in pain, Aleks attacks the goblin between himself and Grael (or pick a different one if that one's dead).

One goblin falls from the combined efforts of Grael and Aleksander. As Aleksander falls back, two of the leftover goblins attack Grael and one keeps at Aleksander. Meanwhile, the now burned goblin to the north continues attacking the poor man. He cowers and whines.

Party's up again.

LOL. Nobody. Obviously.
I'm overtired from work and I was just copying the bonuses from my last attack and had a "duh." moment.
Sorry.
Fiora Zantus
Fiora walks to a position where she can heal most of the party and the barely (?) injured pompous man and channels!
channel, second use of the day: 1d6 ⇒ 6
Everyone is healed for 6!
I exclude the three goblins on the east of the map since I don't believe the one fighting the npc to the north has been injured by us yet. If he was injured though, he's healed too.
Mr. Biggs Sparklefoot
Mr. Biggs pulls out his boom cannon again and levels it towards the goblin harassing the townsman.
I believe your fight should be with me. He says in goblin before pulling the trigger mechanism and is momentarily engulfed in a huge cloud of gunsmoke.

Gareth forgot to add his bonuses, but he did a ranged attack against melee without Precise Shot, so theres that -4. I'll assume Mr. Biggs still needed to add bless.
Mr. Biggs barely misses the pompous man and kills the goblin bullying him. At the same time, Gareth throws a starknife that hits the goblin that Grael also hit, killing him.
I moved Gareth so that Grael being in front of him doesn't incur cover bonus on the gobo.
The goblins seem unbothered by seeing their friends fall and continue bashing on their respective targets. The pompous man means to kick the dead goblin next to him, but stops himself afraid to anger the corpse.

Fiora Zantus
Seeing no one of the party in any huge danger, Fiora moves north to check on the pompous man, partly against her better judgment. "Um... excuse me, but who are you? Are you injured? I heard you cry out on the other side of the square, but it didn't seem like you got hurt that bad?"
With the goblins tied up in melee and no one injured, Fiora moves north to check on the guy.

Professor biggs moves closer to the man and reloads his firearm, he glances towards the man and speaks, his hands working to reload the gun seemingly from pure muscle memory.
He should be fine after your healing, keep him safe, we don't know where others could come from. They are... crazed.
GM Anthorg - RotR
The pompous man answers Fiora "Oh, please, save me from those beasts!" Then he recoils and cowers as Mr. Biggs approaches him, screaming in fear.
Aleksander manages to draw some goblin blood, but Grael's attack is stopped by the goblin's armor. The goblins retaliate cackling.

The pompous man answers Fiora "Oh, please, save me from those beasts!" Then he recoils and cowers as Mr. Biggs approaches him, screaming in fear.
Fiora winces at the amount of noise this guy was able to make. Quickly checking and finding her companions all right and winning, she attempts to calm down this... 'adult toddler', and places her hands on his shoulders.
"Sssssssssh!" she holds one finger to her lips. "There, there, it's fine, you're all right." She pats him consolingly and smiles, channeling all the patience the last two years of school teaching had forced her to develop."Now just calm down and let us handle this, okay? This is Mr. Biggs, and he is helping us. Now go be a good boy and hide somewhere, okay?"

If this doesn't require an action, I'll ready a ranged attack for if a goblin disengages from melee. Fiora has no relevant combat abilities so long as no one is injured.

The dwarven warrior of Torag grunts in pain as his breastplate takes the brunt of the goblin's attack, and he frowns from behind bushy eyebrows and focuses himself on his attacker. Ain't takin' this one seriously enough...that's twice he almost gutted me...

Aleksander and Grael finish off the last goblin. The party looks to the sides and all signs of threat seem to have been taken care of. The shouts of battle have died down to few sporadic and the goblin song is only present in your recent memory. The cowering man gets up. He is shaking, but seems to have forgotten all about his dog. He says "Tha- Thank yo- Thank you so much. You're heroes!" He clearly has been crying, but is breathing like every breath brought in the sweetest aroma.
As he thanks every one of you one by one, he faces Grael and says "Oh, my! Where are my manners? Allow me to introduce myself. I am Aldern Foxglove, at your service. You, my lady, have fought so bravely! The way you stood in their way, you must be mighty indeed. You must inspire the great bard songs!" He looks around to make sure there are no more goblins and finally says "I am in town for a few days, you five must allow me to properly thank you for saving my life! I'm staying at the Rusty Dragon. Let us sit together and talk about a reward, what do you think?"
Fiora Zantus
Fiora blinks as he shakes her hand, taken aback by his luscious praise and arguable sudden personality shift. "Um... thanks, I guess? But I for one am just defending my home. I don't think I deserve some kind of special reward for that."
She looks to the others uncertainly, wondering if they would accept either his gifts or agree to meet him later.
Then she remembers something. "Oh, Are you here with your parents, Aldern? They must be worried sick about you."
GM Anthorg - RotR
The pompous man looks at Fiora and says "Oh, your bravery is rarely seen, you did much more than just defend your home, you stood up to raiding goblins! And you're so kind to worry about me. Sadly my parents aren't among us any more."
His shaking slowly retreating, the man says "Please excuse me, I must recover from the shock." He waits in case anyone wants to continue talking, but he seems a little too scared to be actually helpful for the moment.
The group is near the north gate, close to the cathedral and some shops that are closed. To the south, a few combat cries can be occasionally heard, but they end very quickly. A stoic silence engulfs the air.
