Fang cocks an eyebrow. "Who said anythin' about sharin'? Ya barely tapped it." Giving a bit of a flex, the adaro taps his biceps, then with a wink, "All that flailing about with the thumbs. Ya need more training snacko."
With that, Fang trusses up the fallen crab, then ties the kill to the raft.
"But feasting can wait. Let's get this place checked out first."

Eustice Befufftlefumpter |

Eustice pulls out the almost depleted cure light wand and goes after Atlan with it.

Then Fang.

"Now now Fang it was a group effort and he got smashed around so you could do your big hits. Everyone did their part. Well that's it for this wand."
Did we get another wand with our last purchase?

Evan “Fang” Grissom |

i believe someone had requested a clw wand, so, as long as you marked off the money for it, then you should have it :) There are also a tooooooooooon of healing potions in the loot pile
also should note, i have Burn2... which puts me at 12 non-lethal floating about, effectively putting me at 67 points of damage before lights out. i will likely only take 1 more so i can cap out my buffs (which also boosts my CON and DEX, so it's basically a wash on the NL for it), but i do have the buffer for a spare point.

After you all get your bearings and maybe even have a nice meal you can look at the building.
Knowledge Engineering or Dungeoneering to learn more about the terrain and surroundings.
An immense stone double door bars entrance into the building. The right side bears a relief depicting a humanoid woman with ankle-length hair and large butterfly wings holding aloft a single shining star. The left side depicts a stern-looking woman with a blindfold over her eyes holding a single knife above her head, tip pointed down toward herself. At the middle where the both sides of the door join is the symbol of a single spiral with a five-pointed star at its center.
Knowledge Religion to know a bit more about the depictions.
Those that can swim can get in the water and swim down to the right side of the island and find entrance you were told about from the skragg you talked to in the forest.
A fifteen-foot-high flooded cave mouth cuts into the steep cliff face at the crater island’s southeastern face. Old, wooden scaffolding props up much of the cave mouth, reinforced by rusted metal brackets and splintered wooden supports.

Knowledge(Religion or Local): 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (9) + 15 = 24
I have no problem switching out to the Manta Cloak if we would like to try the other entrance. And with danger expected, I think this old wand might be useful.
I have had that partial Wand of Mage Armore for ages. It only lasts an hour, but this is a good place to use one. Figure before we enter the door, or I start swimming to the other entrance.

Eustice and Mary Kay notice that the crater’s walls have a high concentration of andesite, a volcanic stone suitable for building large, load-bearing structures. This would be great information to take back to the settlement for possible use in the future.
Eustice knows that those symbols are the ancient interpretations of the godesses Desna and Pharasma.
In the time of Azlant, Pharasma was primarily worshiped as a goddess of prophecy, and Desna as a goddess of stars. The philosopher-priests of Nal-Shakar saw a union in those two faiths and incorporated astrological prediction into their prophetic reveries. This small sect of priests, deemed heretics by many, developed a sprawling mythology surrounding a bond between these two goddesses, going as far as to say that prophecy and astrology were so deeply interconnected that it was reflected in a deep link between Desna and Pharasma, whom the priests believed were involved in a relationship that spanned the concept of time.

Fang keeps pace with the other, slower, swimmers as we approach the aforementioned cave.

As you get close and about ready to enter the cave Atlan notices a trap. Then you remember the Scragg you met in the woods gave you a necklace saying it allows him to get past the danger. The necklace he gave you was a necklace of air Adaptation.
Looks to be some sort of magical trap that is setup. Also you notice that the supports of the scaffolding do not look as strong as they should be.

Evan “Fang” Grissom |

"Bloop bloop. Bloooooop bloop blop."
As Fang doesn't have telepathy, it's hard to speak underwater. But he gestures towards himself and then towards the cave, indicating he might be willing to go first. He holds up his hand and where there are normally sparks, you see nothing, but the water churning in his fist.

Atlan Moredew |

Atlan will hold his hand up and motion for the others to stay put. Atlan will then attempt to disarm

Fang is able to make his way through the trap with no problem but stops the rest of the group. Atlan gets his tools out and focuses and is able to successfully disable the magical trap but sees that the scaffolding has been weakened but should be fine as long as there are no big bangs around the entrance.
The lower half of Nal-Shakar’s basement is flooded by five feet of water. Mold cakes the walls and ceiling in black blotches, rivulets of water leak from cracks in crumbling masonry, and the air is a foul mixture of musty and sulfuric stink. A wide stone staircase connects this lower level to an upper level of the basement. The masonry of the east wall has collapsed into the basement, revealing a natural tunnel equally flooded with water.

GM Bozzinator |

As you move closer you notice something moving in the water in a few locations. They seem to be blob-like in the water.

Moving up the stairs.
The stink of mold and sulfur clings to the air in this damp basement. A single arched doorway leads down into a flooded portion of the basement, adjacent to a tall circular shelf loaded with mushrooms, glass jars of desiccated insects, dried herbs, and other reagents. A small table outfitted with a cauldron and alchemical gear fills a nook by a large, ascending staircase. A small workbench covered with carving tools and whittled bone and bits of jewelry stands to the west, next to a large table laden with scraps of paper and fragments of etched stone tablets.
Mary and Eustice find that the paper and fragments of etched stone seem to hold more information. The fragmentary documents are clearly of Azlanti origin. These scraps detail mundane oracular methods used during the time of Azlant, from casting bones to reading entrails.

Fang and Mary look and see something doesn't look right with the helves. They feel around and see a hidden switch that they press and a compartment opens up. In the hidden compartment you find a chest containing 17pp, 457 gp, 3,770 sp, and 11,700 cp.
Additionally, there is a +1 chain shirt, a +1 light steel shield engraved with the spiral-and-star symbol of Nal-Shakar, a +1 shortsword, a silver statue of Desna in Pharasma’s embrace worth 600 gp, assorted gemstones worth 550 gp, a Scroll of Corrosive Touch, a Scroll of Darkness, a Scroll of Delay Poison, a Scroll of Fox’s Cunning, a Scroll of Mage Armor, and a Scroll of Restoration

In this room you also find 1,250gp worth of alchemical reagents that you are pretty sure you could trade with the alchemist in town.
You grab the loot and then head up the stairs and as you go up the stairs you see that there are no sources of light at all. Those of you that do no have darkvision are unable to see
This great foyer is a picture of faded majesty. Walls once decorated with colorful murals are now flecked with mold, the discolored paint peeling off in large flakes. A strong odor of brine and musk clings to the air. However, no amount of disrepair can diminish the awe-inspiring scale of the two thirty-foot-tall statues that loom in this room, flanking a weathered marble altar that bears the seal of a star and spiral. The eastern statue depicts a robed goddess in a dramatic pose, holding a knife in the air with the blade angled down toward herself. A blindfold shrouds this figure’s eyes, and she clutches a stone hourglass under one arm. The western statue depicts a young woman in robes like those of her partner, with hair flowing down to her ankles, a pair of immense butterfly wings, and a five-pointed star held in one hand over her head.
Slide 1 Updated.
You see a set of double doors on to the side of each statue. Which door do you choose?

Evan “Fang” Grissom |

Fang gives a whistle at the room. ”Big statues and fancy decor, if a bit moldy. Heck of a place.”

Mary Kay Ponzi |

Mary Kay might be able to use the alchemical stuff to make a ton of useful things in downtime. If we need Light, she will cast it. If Mary Kay is the only one without Darkvision, thinking an Extended Alter Self into a non-scaly humanoid might be a good idea.
