I use a 1/3 rule for most battles. Unless I know it is a one-shot (such as when travelling) I figure there will be 3 battles per day and try to limit my resource expenditure accordingly. I almost always have spells left at the end of each day, but it's better than running out.

I have a question on the Battle Spirit ability: A shaman surrounds herself with the spirit of battle. Allies within 30 feet of the shaman (including the shaman) receive a +1 morale bonus on attack rolls and weapon damage rolls. At 8th level and 16th level, these bonuses increase by 1. The shaman can use this ability for a number of rounds per day equal to 3 + her Charisma modifier. These rounds do not need to be consecutive.
So is this a standard action, and if he continues using it on the next round is it another standard action or does it just cost rounds after it is activated?
I went down that rabbit hole a few years ago on a different SU. Had the exact questions you now have due to stuff being placed in different places.
Pretty sure I have this ruling correct. If you look at the other SUs the shaman can choose from, some state they are a move or a swift action. So, this applies:
"Supernatural Abilities (Su): Using a supernatural ability is usually a standard action (unless defined otherwise by the ability’s description). Its use cannot be disrupted, does not require concentration, and does not provoke attacks of opportunity."
Once activated, you would not need to spend another standard to maintain it. It can be dismissed as a free action.
Mechanics are very similar to the bardic performance imo.
My dex elf simulation party will face a level 12 assassin tomorrow evening if time permits. The guy would probably outright kill one or two but the cleric can raise dead at this point and even if turned to dust, she could handle that.
The assassin has one problem. The wizard used permanency on himself to see invisible, auras of alignment, and detect magic continually. The assassin is covered up in magic equipment.
That plus greater invisibility on the front liner and unchained rogue allows this party to make short order of a situation that looks like certain tpk.
Spellcraft and k-arcana are both needed to identify magical items. If Tally and or Walhart would like to move skills around, I will allow that at this time.
I need to get up to speed on 2e. One day, maybe.
My table GM said that Kingmaker was one of the top three 1e APs he had played. Possibly the best.
Igar is content running it locally.
He is concentrating on player optimization atm. The dusk elf, two weapon fighter is brutal with two elven curve blades and dex at 5, level 1. Level 14 is ridiculous.
Some food for thought as we deal with Colulus' arachnophobia and pestering:

Fantasy roleplaying games are played by very bright people,
and from my earliest days as a Game Master, I’ve run into
the “ho hum, another orc, yawn, kill it, go on” problem.
Boredom follows swiftly on mastery of most encounters,
and as I’ve never belonged to the “GM as the players’ foe”
school, I try to keep encounters interesting without them
being an arms race of ever-more-formidable challenges
(unlike a friend of mine, whose advice was, “Throw an old
red dragon down their throats once they reach 4th level,
and see who runs fast enough to make it out alive”).
Enter the intelligent trickster, who hunts with deception
as a part of its nature. This sort of monster can stalk PCs
for long periods, deceiving players into thinking they’re up
against a secret society or a wizard who wants to kill them
for some reason, an inherently more interesting challenge
than brutes.
Thawns should be a test for a low-level PC party, if
played as cunning “spell wasters” who trick PC spellcasters
into hurling their best battle-spells at fake foes, and prey
on tired PCs or those who go off alone to scout, study
spells, or try a little thieving or bargaining on their own.
Not to mention they make a great antidote to the player
who thinks he’s the only one who can be sneaky.

I had a GM on Paizo that was of the school "GM as the player's foe." If I had known that it would have been a different experience. Okay, bring it on. Took me 2 or three modules to realize that was his approach. A rude awakening that explained a great deal.
Whew it sure is if you do it right. I made a pretty cool spreadsheet that calcs each city and totals it for the kingdom. Really enjoying the kingdom making as it is a change of pace from kill, kill, rest.
My current party is so superior. They are mythic. The wizard can put anything to sleep and they have a wand for everything. Send in an invisible scout, report back. Make plan. Usually it is invisible wizard puts boss to sleep just before the invisible fighter does a CdG. Wand of invisible again, walk out past all the other baddies who will scatter when they realize what we just did.
Had an invisible assassin lay a whopper on me as ruler assassination attempt. Mythic ability allowed it to hit my mirror and transport me. The two weapon mythic fighter with a legendary weapon dropped him to a hp or two and the witch disabled him for interrogation. First interrogations alive for months, then one more when dead.

I'm sorry, as I know you've had a ton of turnover; but I can't keep up with this site at all. RL has gone wacky and my priorities now lie elsewhere. I wish all of you the best of luck in the future and a Merry Xmas and happy New year, or whatever you may celebrate.
Here we go again. I will bot Etgar through this until hopefully one of you knows an interested player. Donovan, you are now the only original remaining player. We will get through this.
