Awkward page break — overseer just moved us onto the deepest part o the temple. Cross-reference map is updated on slide 2!
Deep within the temple lies a truly unholy site. It is here that the serpentfolk will feed their best prizes to their god! There might be time to save the Azlanti general you’ve heard about, yet…
You make your way down into the depths of the temple, eventually entering a massive, domed chamber. A heavy presence claws at your chest and weighs the air itself down. Strange glows emanate from the cardinal points. In the center of the room, an elevated, spiraling staircase entwines a column of stone, atop which sits an altar.
There, an ancient and twisted old serpentfolk utters prayers over the chained form of an Azlanti man, a serrated dagger in one hand and incense in the other. Three reptilian abominations touched by Ydersius’s divine nature stand by to witness the rite — their eyes glow red, and their scales are tinted a bloody crimson!
They all turn as Faustus enters. The cleric drops her incense. She draws two short swords, ready to kill whoever dares interrupt their unholy sacrament. The serpentfolk with glowing red eyes are unarmed, but their wickedly sharp fangs and claws gleam with magical enhancement.

The three serpentfolk with flowing eyes are fiendish! They are the result of some unholy rite or union! They are Medium outsiders with the monstrous humanoid and native subtypes.

Roderick prepares to launch into the room
Egads! That looks like trouble indeed. Take care not to hurt the victim!
He sprouts a pair of wings and flies up as high as he can and forward (if he can get high enough to clear the big bird).
Need to know hallway ceiling height, and also how long since last combat for buffs/spells expired.

GM Doug H |

Time: 8 minutes since last combat. 54 min total. I'll just put a "time elapsed" in my byline for everyone so it's easier.
Ceiling height (it is noted on map, too): 10' in hallway; and 50' in the chamber; you can move through allies fine.
I moved Roderick ahead; it won't affect the enemies' actions because I want to cast aoe spells on the party or buff, and you can adjust as you see fit. I added a line showing the path Roderick took to get where his token is, but the final position is totally up to you.

Fairbeaks squawks in distress as the cloying miasma of evil overtakes him, and he lurches into the room to try to get away from whatever it is!
Theo quickly follows his friend in, talking to him calmly in Tien, trying to get the bird to settle down.

Eventually, he manages it, pointing Fairbeaks towards the serpentfolk, but the axebeak can only take a token snap of the beak towards the nearest, as the lingering effects of the spells seem to have taken the usual joyful fight out of him.
Double move for Theo. Single move and a miss for the bird

Um... Theo was hitting serpentfolk 2 (not 3). The one with no images. =) He can't reach 3.
Theo grits his teeth as the serpentfolks fangs sink into his flesh, and poison starts to course through his veins.
Fort vs Poison: 1d20 + 11 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 11 + 2 = 19
Ignoring the venom for now, he turns on the one that injected it, swinging his club multiple times.
Full attack vs serpentfolk2
primary: 1d20 + 15 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 15 + 1 = 24, for 1d10 + 17 ⇒ (1) + 17 = 18 damage.

Behind him, Fairbeaks snaps at the same foe with his powerful beak.

bite confirm?: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (3) + 9 = 12, for an additional 2d6 + 14 ⇒ (5, 1) + 14 = 20 damage.
well those were some relatively unexciting die rolls

Fung grants in frustration at the missed shot, but he pulls forth his power and fires again.

Burn: Empower Metakinesis (+1), Gather Power (-1)
air blast: 1d20 + 10 + 1 + 2 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 10 + 1 + 2 + 1 + 1 = 21

RIGHT AFTER I posted I corrected this, but pasted the text into my other game! What a day :D 2 was at -20. Here is a quick post to reset things.
Lya hits the target twice and pops one image.
Theo makes the save against poison. Theo hits once as does Fairbeaks (doesn't confirm). Still takes out the serpent.
Air blast misses again but pops an image.

"I'm convinced Faustus can finish the fight, so I'll be prepping for our next encounter!"
The old daemon dissapears and the belt of giant strength falls to the ground.
Lilybeth commands the remaining daemon to pick it up and wear it.
She uses her wand of mage armor to boost its armor class.

Faustus ignores the others as he brings his adamantine heavy mace down on the chain holding the captive. "I will have you free in a moment, my friend." he says, letting the magic of his tongues spell translate for the man, if needed.
Final Arbitration, PA, haste, vs chain: 1d20 + 15 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (3) + 15 + 1 - 2 = 17 Adamantine weapon: 1d8 + 7 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 7 + 4 = 12

Final Arbitration, PA, haste, vs chain: 1d20 + 10 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (7) + 10 + 1 - 2 = 16 Adamantine weapon: 1d8 + 7 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 7 + 4 = 14
Low attack rolls, but against a chain, I am not sure they'll miss
"Lilybeth, I am dealing with more important things than that... serpent."

Basing this off higher-level NOCs in NPC codes; seems like a famous Azlanti general should be tough.
Grapple, Improved Grapple: 1d20 + 19 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 19 + 2 = 23 Barely enough
Faustus cuts through three of the four chains holding the Azlanti man's limbs on the altar. He springs to action faster than you'd think possible — clearly, a powerful warrior — and wraps the remnants of a chain around the fiend's neck, grappling the fiendish serpent in a deadly bear-hug!
He growls something in Azlanti as he does so:

Roderick finishes growing to large size and then decides which of the remaining foes to stab
Are we saving this one or skewer it?
General, we are here to rescue you. Are you the only remaining soul here?
Roderick will wait for a response and readies to strike if the serpent does anything hostile

2 is gone; I said it died and removed it from the init block but not the map. If you're gonna stab, stab 3.
The general is grappling the serpent. But it looks like your ready dice are malformed.
