@GM has it been more than an hour since the last combat, re: spell durations?
Roderick will raise his hand to wait and then tries to spy the type of snakes.

He then mixes and drinks a mutagen to buff his constitution and AC.

The snake climbs the wall, over the brazier, and strikes at Lya, but cannot connect! The serpentfolk moves in closer and studies Faustus.

"Let's not mess around here."
He moves forward, taking advantage of the haste, and gets next to the serpentfolk.
Theo Rosevale |
Seeing the nearby very large snake blinded by Inkwell's blast of ink, Theo yells a couple of quick commands at Fairbeaks, and the axebeak lurches forward.
The bird slides right past Lya and the snake, and snaps upward at it with its beak!
Attack, and flank! Unfortunately, because of the height, I don't think I get the flank part... but at least he's on the right side =)

Lya uses her reach weapon to hit the blinded cobra three times. Bits of snake fall into the brazier, searing in the coals! Faustus moves in for the kill, and Theo and Fairbeaks divide their attention.

I will bot if needed in a couple hours when time permits. I’m also happy if any player wants to step up and volunteer to fo so as well, and it's needed at this point.
I'll step up then as Fung has been up for more than 24 hours (and the character hasn't posted in more than 48 hours, so player might be busy with real life)
Fung will move into the room, climb to 15' and airblast snake 1.

Thanks in part to the efforts of Pathfinder agents, a slave revolt is now spreading like wildfire throughout the lower regions of the complex!
GMs, the Slave Pits (Area B) are now controlled, and the Slave Revolt condition is now in effect (see the ‘Development’ section on Page 16)

Fung blasts the snake. It looks badly hurt and woozy…
The sounds of battle around you are now intermingled with that of Azlanti slaves killing their captors! It sounds like they are teaming up with other teams in the nearby vicinity. This condition would boost your token… if you had one.

As one of the large snakes was 10 feet up the wall, I assumed the height of this particular room was 20 feet.

Now that it’s safe, you can opt to make useful notes on the priests’ rituals and regalia.
As a group, you may attempt a single check using one of the following skills: Appraise, Craft (armor, clothing, or jewelry), Disguise, Knowledge (nobility or religion), Perception, Profession (clerk, merchant, or scribe). All of these options are at the same DC.
Unlike the others only ONE PC can make the check; the others can aid. I'd say go for it if it's obvious who the primary roller should be.

The prince of lies exults in the power of observation — it's such a good way to get leverage over people!
The observational half of this lesson well-demonstrated by Faustus, who doesn’t need any help in sussing out the truth of this place. He makes mental note of several tiny bleached snake bone relics in the altar that will generate great academic interest after the mission.
Theo lends some insight of his own in assistance, as do several others.
Success! You absolutely murdered this check. Nice work.
GM Doug H |
Check-in on time: 46 minutes have passed since you entered this place.
GM Doug H |
You heal the slayer’s pathetic damage and move on.
Chaotically twisting tunnels and chambers shoot throughout the temple’s interior, some ending abruptly and others opening into smoke-choked studies, scriptoria, and meditation chambers. Countless alcoves are cut into the walls—almost entirely hidden within the elaborate mosaics. A single clay tablet inscribed with pictograms lies on a nearby table. It appears to be only part of a much larger set.
You decipher it and discover somethign unexpected. The tablet contains only the most basic kind of scripture — things even a young serpentfolk hatchling would know. Even with the little scholars know about Ydersius and his faith prior to the serpent god’s decapitation, this tablet is useless.
You know that Ydersius and his followers favor the clever and observant. Perhaps these are values shared in common with certain of the party's own deities.
And perhaps this value system might indicate the way the serpentfolk store their most sacred scriptures.
You might be able to locate clues by looking around (perception) or using divination magics such as detect secret doors or locate object. Each round of perception checks will take 1d6+4 minutes, but magic will be faster.
Faustus Sulpicius Voralius |
Faustus once again starts looking around. He does a cursory job of it, in case someone has magic that will do better.

You easily spot a hidden alcove that contains what looks like valuable tablets. You also notice a trigger under the tablet, with a nozzle. It's probably a mist or gas trap of some sort.
You may attempt to disable a mechanical trap if you want. Or just set it off and get the tablet with your victory point.

Lya will call upon her training... aka tricks of the trade... to assist with the disabling of the mechanical trap.

Fung can attempt it. He also has a bonus to saving throws against gas attacks.
Fung floats gently down towards to the tablet, already starting to pull out his thieves' tools. At some point, he notices the rest of the party looking at him and starts to blush. "I'm not a thief or anything," he quick denies. "Just that I picked up some ... skills in my youth." He then gets to work.
