I am GMing tonight and will bot Theo if needed after my game; then the enemies will go. Everyone will be up again after that.

Ok, sorry - I thought he was able to recover the mutagen as part of the "restore" boon we found to allow refreshing spells and special abilities. Maybe mutagen was not allowed ?

GM Doug H |

Oh, that's fine. I thought you were mixing something completely fresh.

![]() |

i have no problem if the group is itching for the Lady herself.

![]() |

If mechanics need different skill checks, i would not use diplomacy - perform is not only her better skill, it is everything she was designed to do.

![]() |

does anyone else want to take a swing at the second check? or just go with lya leading on perform and diplomacy sequentially?

GM Doug H |

Skills that might work include Bluff, Diplomacy, Heal, Knowledge (history, nobility, or religion), Perform (any), Profession (any), and Sense Motive.
I'm open to being sold on other things in the interest of RP and everyone participating. I'm generally a pretty easy sell if you can do it in character and it makes sense.

![]() |

between the many skills we have... i am not concerned about the specific modifiers.
Lya's perform
Faustus's diplomacy
Lily's knowledge
Roderick's heal
assuming we need all 4 of those....

GM Doug H |

assuming we need all 4 of those....
You will need all those and then at least one more! This is supposed to be a challenging social encounter as you are trying to convince a fanatic to change her world view. If you fail a certain number of times you will indeed go into initiative.
In additoin to flagging success/failure, I will endeavor to give you in-character clues as to how close you are to changing her mind and making her an ally, or how close you are to frustrating her and making her an enemy.
Roderick should also dismiss his invisibility if he wants to be an effective assister or make an argument in good faith.

GM Doug H |

These are the most ridiculously overkill rerolls I've seen in a very long time, if ever.
… I love it.

GM Doug H |

If we need more motivation to keep up posting, the special ends in 5 days and the House does not quite have enough anchor successes to get the most chronicle rewards at the end.
So, every anchor success your team can add will greatly help everyone who's playing.

GM Doug H |

It seems like interest is waning here, as I have had to bot this last combat somewhat extensively. This is totally understandable because of SkålCon, and because we are now in the denouement portion of the narrative.
This Special is slated to finish up on Saturday and I would like to present you with 3 options:
1. Earn another anchor success for the house by repeating a combat you already had, which will help the House maximize chronicle rewards (we're still short).
2. Waiting a day or two and do a new, optional combat that won't contribute to any overall House success but might help end the special early.
3. Rest on your laurels until we're done.
I am happy with any of these. We've done more than our part as a group and if you're not interested in grinding out successes for the house or whatever, that's 100% legit. But if you are, let's perk up, post on time, and get the job done.

Sorry I missed the updates. Once again, my campaign page was not reflecting new posts, but I should have checked.
I'm all for continuing with option #1.

GM Doug H |

I'll actually run an optional from part 1 that we didn't cover, so we can do something new in pursuit of another anchor success. Having those creatures teleported to this time seems reasonable to me, and like a more fun solution for the table (and GM).

GM Doug H |

I wouldn't doubt it :)
A level 13 magus might have gotten in some good hits but ultimately she would have been action-economied to death. (Personally I think having the debate is more interesting and I'm glad the table chose that.)
Faustus has voted in-character. I'll move us on to another anchor when I get a break at work.

GM Doug H |

Thanks; updated. Sadly still not enough to beat these bizarrely high-rollin' crab things. Who I'm sure everyone is looking forward to fighting.

Time for a good old fashioned Cheliaxian Crab bake!

GM Doug H |

We'll wait for Roderick; hopefully, the player can post tonight and the GM can have one last turn before you ruin fake-Arodeth's day :)

GM Doug H |

Boon rolls in order of initiative, with the "enemy" after the party, just like we've done all game. 19-20 wins:
Boon Roll: Faustus: 1d20 ⇒ 2
Boon Roll: Fung: 1d20 ⇒ 11
Boon Roll: Lilybeth Zey: 1d20 ⇒ 3
Boon Roll: Lya: 1d20 ⇒ 4
Boon Roll: Roderick: 1d20 ⇒ 4
Boon Roll: Theo ‘Little Foot’: 1d20 ⇒ 14
Boon Roll: GM Doug: 1d20 ⇒ 9
Well I see my dice are just as cold as they have been all game. :(

GM Doug H |

If any of you are changing your day job rolls let me know (I believe Lilybeth was considering using her reroll and Theo doing some retraining).

GM Doug H |

Hmmm... don't think I'd allow spellstrike to go off on a combat maneuver, as its not a melee attack anymore... but not going quibble! Its properly dramatic =)
She is a staff magus with Tripping Staff.

GM Doug H |

No worries! You are correct that a magus couldn't normally do that; I should have put "Tripping Staff' in the attack description for greater clarity, so you understood OOC what was happening!
I agree — it's a cool move.

GM Doug H |

I will be posting chronicles tomorrow morning (GMT -8), and send the game off for reporting. Please feel free to post any codas you like in the meantime.
This was a lot of fun to GM for you; even though you overpowered the content you still made it a memorable experience. Great work.

Gah, decided to take a nap before posting, and missed the chance for Fung to do an empowered thunderstorm blast on her. :)
Fung rolled a 25, which I think is about as good as it gets.
Thanks for running the game, GM! Thought it was fantastic how you weaved roleplaying and also much of the history and background of Golarion into what usually hack-n-slash multi-table games. :)

I agree. This scenario really works well as a PbP. It is so big and diverse it was an absolute nightmare for a regular 5 hour slot, with many tables forced to next encounters without being able to finish their current combat and not much knowledge about what was going on.

GM Doug H |

I agree, Lilybeth. I generally find PbP more enjoyable for specials.
Here are the chronicles. Let me know if you need anything amended.
I've also submitted the game for reporting and will mark the campaign inactive tomorrow morning so players have a chance to post a closing scene, ask any questions about chronicles, etc.

Thank you GM! well run game!

Thanks a lot, again, GM Doug. This was a blast. Glad I joined in!
Remember all, The Lord of the Pit will reward as you deserve!

The chronicle sheet is fine for Fung. Thanks, once again everyone! See ya around.
