(#1-02) "The Mosquito Witch" (Inactive)

Game Master rainzax

Decades ago, witnesses reported a fearsome cryptid outside of the quiet River Kingdoms town of Shimmerford. Dubbed the Mosquito Witch, it was rarely seen since and quickly became a beloved local legend that the town celebrates and promotes to attract visitors. But when recent attacks began savaging livestock and townsfolk alike, many have started believing the Mosquito Witch was real all along. The PCs travel to Shimmerford to unravel the cryptid mystery, but might they just become the witch's next victim?

Greetings,
As the title, this is a recruitment thread for 2-3 more players (2 already recruited) to embark on the following PFS2 Scenario:

(#1-02) "The Mosquito Witch"

Application
Please apply below with an Alias representing your Character. If you are new, I will work with you to assemble a Profile and Profile Header that are readily legible / useable (please PM me!). Take a look at some of my own Aliases if you'd like an example. Priority will be given to legibility / usability, as well as to at least one new person, as I am a fan of mixed-experience groups.

Deadline
The deadline is soft, but I will check in sometime between Tuesday and Wednesday (June 9th to June 10th), to see if we have sufficient applicants to start Thursday (June 11th). You will receive a PM invite.

Expectations
Slightly accelerated. We have until the first two weeks of July to finish. Posting once a day is expected. No botting please. Also, I will be using Google Drive to share Handouts and Maps, so you will need access to that to participate. (If the timeline doesn't pan out, not a big dealbreaker - but the campaign will see a two-and-a-half week hiatus and pick back up / finish in August...)

About Me
I am a longtime home QM who just a few months ago got swept into 2nd Edition, Society play, and Play-by-Post. This gives me a lot of empathy for Newcomers here! That said, this will be my fourth undertaking actually GMing all three together. As such, I ask for your patience in return, but can absolutely promise that my #1 priority is to show you a good time.

Tips?
I'd like to incorporate your pre- and post- feedback into my game. So, if you can think of one tip to give me, that you think might improve the flow of the game, please share that in your post, and I will do my best to incorporate it. Too, I may ask you to complete a feedback survey at the end of our time (aiming for 5 weeks), as a courtesy to running.

...

And good luck!

Pathfinder Adventure, Adventure Path Subscriber

Not sure if this is really overstretching myself, but I have a Cleric of Gozreh and a merchant wizard ready to go. Depending upon who you get in the team, I'll play one of them. Both are 1st level, the cleric won't be available until after 13th June, I just realised.

Envoy's Alliance

Manny is here to play music, kick butt for justice and get all the ladies afterward. At least that's what he hopes.

Manny is a level 2 Bard who leans into fighter, using his longsword and his whip to harass foes.

Player Name: Chadius
Character Name: Emmanuel Holysmith
PFS#: 133608-2001
Faction: Envoys' Alliance

i,

I'm a long time PF1 player/gm, who's only had two good PBP experiences, but I'm working from home currently, and one of those two good experiences was for a PFS game.... I'd be willing to whip up a pretty much anything.

I ran a homebrew game during Playtest and most of the last year in PF2, and thus am fairly comfortable with the system, and was the guy doing the chargen, so I could have a PF2 L1 character done, within an hour or so of starting. I have played none of the PF2 published content.

Active posting speed: While at home, multiple times per day, if I'm working from the office, most likely 1/day as these forums are blocked there. I am expecting to be in the office part time midway through this game, and fully around the time the game wraps.

I have a fully complete PFS2 Fighter 1, that I tossed together, and am waitlisted, for a game Deevor is running.

Player Name: Roonfizzle
Character Name:
PFS#: # 195413-2001 or 2
Faction:

Envoy's Alliance

If there's room left for a gnome alchemy entrepreneur looking to pay off his student loans, please consider Oscre! Banner not up yet, but can go up quickly if selected.

Player Name: GM Skeemo
Character Name: Oscre Gentillion
PFS#: 125136-2001 (my 2002—Bardok—is in your 1-12 game)
Faction: Envoy's Alliance (unless he picks up the Horizon Hunters boon)

Radiant Oath

Brayka is here to fight for his allies, his beliefs and his wolves.

Level 1 Goblin Champion Liberator, fresh out of training.

New player to PF2 and PFS, long time Gamer/GM with a wealth of experience. Always looking to swing the spotlight and build the story.

Eager to share the fun.

Player Name: Aeyr
Character Name: Brayka
PFS #: 2389239-2001
Faction: Radiant Oath

Envoy's Alliance

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Kappa is an abjurer with aspirations to become a Magaambayan initiate.

Player: Lance K
Character: Kappa Kizhangu
PFS#: 125869-2004
Faction: Envoy's Alliance

Tips: Don't have people roll their own initiatives; it can easily add a day or two to the length of a combat. If you're using Google Slides, I like have everyone put in what they are going to roll for initiative into a table. Usually people stick with Stealth or Perception. If its in a single column in a table, then you can just cut and paste it right into your combat post.

Going to incorporate this time-saving tip. Thx!

Here is a Template for how to format your Character Bar:

Spoiler:

Please put the following information under Gender, Race, and Classes/Levels, in your character profiles (including the horizontal lines "|"):

Gender
Ancestry, Class / Archetype, Level (Alignment)

Race
| Hit Points: XX/XX | AC XX | Fortitude (+X), Reflex (+X), Will (+X) | Perception (+X)

Include any feats / abilities that modify these values: ex "+2 w/ Incredible Initiative" etc. Bonus points for cross-linking.

Classes / Levels
| Hero Points 1/1 | Conditions: none | Speed XX ft | Exploration Mode: XXXXX

Choose a default Exploration Mode Activity, and post it here. Bonus points for cross-linking.

Horizon Hunters

Endra is an elf scout (archer fighter) from the North who dabbles in magic.

Player: PaleDim
Character: Endra Densinri
PFS#: 272301-2003
Faction: Horizon Hunters
I'll add Stealth to her status bar as her default exploration activity will be Avoid Notice.

I'm not a new player generally, but still getting the hang of 2e (liking it alot so far).

I can meet 1 post per day, usually one or two posts after 5pm in US/Pacific time.

Tip? Well, I don't know what tips you're familiar with so I'll try a couple of basic ones at random:
- For every GM post during combat, always include the line-up by initiative order and bold those whose current turn it is. It makes it plain as day who should be acting.
- Include relevant links to maps and handout in your GM status bar. The links in the campaign description are fine and good, but way at the top of the page and scrolling while in the middle of a post is a pain :) Even worse, if you've "previewed" your post and you lose those links.
