From the right out of the shadows near the ceiling a creature swoops down at Leothar and claws him then flies back up around the corner and out of sight.

Sorry, that monster on the map wasn't supposed to be there. I was trying to figure out his flight plan and left him there. I had to do some reading of flying and fighting. Leothar will need a Fort save.


You can't declare a Bastion of Good unless you can see the enemy. It went around the corner and you will have to move (30 ft.) to see it. This creature has nothing to do with the Worldwound. You need Kn: Religion

I deleted my post and will wait for clarification. So can the knowledge roll just be a '10' for untrained knowledge? Ian would have seen the creature attack, so can't he use the swift action based on that, or is it literally not visible when his initiative starts so it doesn't matter than he had seen it attack? I just assumed that the six second round was happening simultaneously but in order of Init.

You can use the roll of 10 for your kn religion. You have to be able to see it when you can act and you don't act until your initiative, unless something is an immediate action.

Nodding in agreement with Dadna, Ian moves forward, calling on the power of faith as he does so.

For you all
PoF 1st of 10rd. This causes a nimbus of light to emanate from the warrior of the holy light in a 30-foot radius. All allies in this area (including the warrior of the holy light) receive a +1 morale bonus to AC and on attack rolls, damage rolls, and saving throws against fear as long as they remain in the area of light. This power lasts for 1 minute.
Focus: Whenever a mythic ally that is within 30 feet uses the surge ability, it rolls its bonus die twice and takes the higher result.


The paladins move forward and prepare for the return of the creature. It soon comes flying around the corner and seeing Ian approaches him to attack. Anton attempts to slice the creature but Ian interferes with his swing. Ian then attempts to aid his comrades and while he knows he activated his Power of Faith no light emanated from him. Getting a good look at the creature you know this undead monstrosity is a berbalang.

The berbalang then attacks Ian but can't get through his defences. As it tries to fly away again Anton again attacks it but misses as Ian tries to attack it as well.

Realizing the bat winged creature was flying directly at him, Ian lifts his shield and lashes out with the magical longsword. As the creature flies away, he asks, "What is that and how do we kill it?"

NGL, I'm not 100% sure how to apply Mythic PA's wording of "In addition, the bonus damage from this feat is doubled on a critical hit, before it’s multiplied by the weapon’s critical multiplier." In the above, I broke it out, it's the +9. Does that mean it gets doubled to 18, THEN the x3 happens? Or is this like the old 3.0 rule of "add multples together," where a x2 and a x3 combine to a x4? /puzzled

Leothar cannot move into any place where he is not blocking Dadna - and if he goes into that corner his mobility will be limited (won't be able to 5' step next round).

So he just moves behind Anton and uses Total Defense.


Ian swung at the creature as it retreated from him but missed it. The paladins change positions and prepare for the beast to appear again.

The beast comes around the corner again and you see a small smile as it sees you have moved. It again flies at Ian. Anton tries to keep it off Ian but misses but as it moves in Anton skewers the beast, though it seems to shrug off some of the damage. It howls in outrage and slashes Ian and stands before him. "How..Dare..You..Enter..My..Home!" it rasps.

Need a fort save from Ian. PoF is not giving it's bonus as the light is not visible. Now we see the true effect of Mythic Power attack. +9 becomes +18 in this case and is then multiplied by the critical multiplier. That attack did 91 points of damage by my math.

He then swings the magical sword at the creature but his shield off balance he clearly misses.

Ian manages not be be affect by the creatures claws No surge needed but misses as he attacks it. Dadna moves forward and attacks but misses the creature. Leothar steps up and pounds the beast. Ardriel shoots at the creature but misses. Fley runs past the creature which misses him as he goes by but Fley also misses him.

The berbalang sees Fley's tactic and steps back and attacks Anton. You notice some of it's wounds have healed.

Dadna's aim is ruined by Leothar. Fley stabs the creature once and barely scratches it. Ardriel can't get a good shot off due to the people in front of him.

The berbelang wounds heal some more and it attacks Fley. It grabs Fley's head, lifts him off the ground and takes a large chunck out of his neck and then leaves scratch marks as it let's him go. Need 3 Fort saves Fley

Fley immediately feels afraid. When the monster nearly swallows him, his life flashes before his eyes. "This... this creature must die!"

Not wanting to be the target of another attack, he stabs at the creature before stepping back.

Standard action: attack. Then 5-ft step behind Dadna.

After being savaged by the berbalang Fley is frozen in place! Dadna tries to move past the berbalang but gets attacked on the way. You can't use acrobatics if wearing medium or heavy armor or having a medium or heavy load. She then hits the creature with her swing. Ian then steps forward but misses his swings. Leothar swings wildly but then manages to follow up with a solid hit turning the creature to dust. After a bit Fley starts moving again. Fley you failed two of those saves and even a 6 on your surge wouldn't have made the second one pass. You also were not covered by the Bastion of Good when you were attacked so took the full 33 points of damage.

Silence falls across the crypt though you can still feel the evil in this place. A faint roar can be heard through the walls of the crypt.

Fley feels his heart beating heavily inside as he's frozen in place. He watches as his friends turn the creature to dust, unable to do anything.

Suddenly, he can move his muscles slowly and he visibly relaxes. Fley reaches and rubs his shoulder. "That... wasn't a fun experience. Getting almost eaten before becoming paralyzed in place. Thank you for killing it before that thing could do worse things to me."

He turns to Dadna, "Are you able to heal me? I feel stiff and broken."

If this is a stone building, he should get an automatic Perception check from Stonecunning at a total +8, but I will also make an active check as well.
