"I hear... something in there. Sounds like there are a few people in there. But I can't understand them. It might just be this thick door, but I'm guessing that these 'people' aren't in fact human." Fley whispers to his group.


Nodding approvingly as the others cut down the corpses, Ian maintains his guarding near the door. He points to the cabinets by the fireplace, then whispers. "Do we want to open those before we deal wit h whatever is beyond this door?"


There is nothing in the half rotted cabinets. It is clear this place hasn't been up kept in 70 years.

After taking a second glance at the Half rotted cabinets, Ian figures they aren't worth the waste of time. Turning to Leothar, he nods his head, lifting his sword to inspire the others. "Ready, we are the cleansing fire of our gods."

Hey DM Trawets, since inspiring sword is now a 2 round spell, he will use it here so everyone can take advantage of it in the first round (It's second round)

Fley holds both his kukris aloft and nods at Leothar.

"Whoever these monsters are, we need to destroy them. This temple does not belong to them."


The broken frames of several beds lie scattered about this large room. Two of the more serviceable ones have been pushed together to make a larger sleeping pallet. A table and several chairs also occupy the center of the room.

Inside the room you see 6 ghouls, the cleric from the temple and a medium sized creature with wings. As the door fully opens the area gets darker Darknees lowers light one level to dim light, darkvision is not effected

The winged creature points at the group of heroes and then grabs his holy symbol and a flail appears behind Ardriel and swings at him but misses.

Unwilling to move forward just yet, Dadna looked to the flying creature and tried to figure out what exactly it was. Was it an undead monstrosity, or a demonic abomination?

Leothar dashes forward, strikes a ghoul (Teal) with a two-handed smash from Radiance, then moves back while keeping his guard up.

Ian calls on the power of his goddess but it somehow feels weakened. The darkness doesn't dissapate but those nearby feel the power infusing them and helping. Ardriel can't see through the darkness to target anyone unless he has darkvision I don't know about Dadna sees the creature and knows it some sort of demonic abomination, a half-nabasu human. Donnen charges up and plays whack a ghoul and drops it to the ground.

Thanks for botting, GM, and my apologies for the delay. Only now I'm catching up with my games! As for charging in or keep trying to strategize too much these fights - Donnen is defensive, and based more on cleaving than nova'ing a single enemy, so the character benefits from being surrounded by champs - as I suspect Leothar as well. As dangerous as it might be, that's my preferred way of playing the character. Notice that Donnen isn't reckless, but keeping pressure is his best way to be useful. Each of us can play their own character, right? :)

I have low-light vision, which means I can see twice as far as humans in dim light, which is what you described in the post. The ghoul does have concealment (20% miss chance). I'll roll those.

Donnen resists the touch of the ghoul and begins his attacks. He strikes the cleric and the swing continues into two more ghouls, all however remain on their feet.

The two ghouls move in from the north door red provokes from Donnen due to his retributive reach the rest of the ghouls attack Donnen. In a blur of teeth and claws nothing seems to harm the Stonelord. The cleric then raises his holy symbol and more negative energy flows outward. Ian and Donnen are the only ones effected

The winged creature then points to Donnen and calls the powers of evil on him and steps up and attacks Donnen pounding him good. The floating flail fails to hit Ardriel.

Surprised as Leothar rushes into the room and back, Ian watches Donnen boldly strides into the room planting himself like an immovable force and begins swinging his dwarven axe. Stepping forward, Dadna sent her dorn-dergar going through the doorway before her comrades could get in the way. Leothar again uses his mythic power to dash forward, but this time, with Donnen in there, he stands firm and attacks more of the ghouls.

Ian would have stepped so that his 'light' shined on Donnen, also putting him still in line of sight. He can be in any of the spots that we need him to be, so if it helps move him back five or ten foot. He had a move action the first round and a 5 ft move the second. So plenty of opertunity to get situated.

Fley, 1)You are carrying at least 60 pounds of gear which puts you in the heavy load category and can't use acrobatics. 2) that spot isn't a valid spot to end movement in as it is occupied by furniture. 3)While using acrobatics to avoid AoOs you move at half speed. The only spots you could end up in are south of Donnen and Leothar. You can move full speed but you have to increase the DC by 10. What do you want to do?

With the nearest ghoul being felled, Dadna moved in and swung her weapon and the demonic foe. There was no battlecry as she attacked. Rather she narrowed her eyes and decided to let her actions speak for her.


Leothar clears the last two ghouls leaving room for everyone to move and engage the winged man.


Moving into the room, Ian cannot get close enough to attack the winged creature. Instead he lifts his sword, his halo still illuminated, his body glowing from the power of faith. Attempting to intimidate the creature he tells it. "By the power of Torag's servants you will die here!"

Focus: Whenever a mythic ally that is within 30 feet uses the surge ability, it rolls its bonus die twice and takes the higher result.

Donnen slashes the creature twice thought he wounds partially close quickly.

Seeing himself about to be surrounded the creature moves back into the doorway. Donnen manages to get a slash in as he withdraws from battle.
