Gazul Ironfist |

”Going to eat well tonight. Mayhaps we can tan the hide as well, if we have the time. We’re awfully light on supplies like blankets and this will help alleviate that.” Gazul said. ”Lets be cautious approaching the cabin. With the lynx being so aggressive it might have young inside, and I’d hate to hurt the wee ones.”

Cheshire Silvanshee |

Cheshire smiles at Gazul's comment, "Sure I was hoping for a lynx headed cowl and a nice fur cape." He laughs, "Never eaten lynx should be interesting."

Kudvathalas |

Kudvathalas didn't share his companion's light mood. Something was still bothering him, something that wasn't quite right about that poor beast.
Kudvathalas cautiously approached the cabin, searching the ground for tracks, paying special attention for anything made by something other than the lynx they slew.

Sarya breathed deep as her magic ward faded from her skin. She inspected the wound where the lynx had managed to penetrate her armor, quickness and magic. It was far from a fatal wound, but it still stung. She noticed the others celebrating and quietly moved her eyes to Kudvathalas, who was inspecting the terrain. She said "There are two possibilities. Either this is an abandoned hut and a lynx came to make a home out of it, or this was the inhabitant's companion."
Afraid that the latter option was true, Sarya joined the other elf in searching traces of anything worthwhile. She said "Be mindful of traps." Hunters like to make those.

That lynx must have been this man's companion while he still lived. The poor beast was loyal to the end... at least it is now at rest.

Once he was behind it, he buried his axe into it’s back. It was a solid hit, cutting through flesh and crunching bone. He didn’t know if it would be enough to take it down, but he was confident that it would at least bring them closer to breaking the magic that bound it.

She said to the others "Careful with the traps.", then entered the shack to search it.

Kudvathalas |

Action 1
Kudvathalas' shoulders visibly relaxed as the undead creature fell. He put away his butterfly totem, and walked forward. He looked sadly down at the wight.
"May your final rest be peaceful." He looked up to Sarya and Katra and smiled slightly "Well done."
Action 2
Kudvathalas walked into the cabin, and moved around carefully. His eyes were drawn to the longsword an bow. "We should take these, and either use them ourselves, or give them to those who will fight for justice. It will help ease this man's soul"
Kudvathalas lifts the weapons from the wall and hands them to his allies, or stows them if nobody else wants them.
Action 3
Kudvathalas was pleased to find that the smokehouse had served it's purpose well. This will be enough to keep them going for some time He brought the meat inside the main cabin to the party.
I'm good to stay here for the night and head to the farm on the way to the Ranger Redoubt. Or maybe right there if we think the refugees will be fine a bit longer.

Cheshire Silvanshee |

"I suppose we should burn or bury this old hunter. Dead on the stoop is a poor design choice."

Kudvathalas |

If we're going down for the night I also have 1d6 and 1d4+3 ×2 of healing to distribute for those who need it. Since we only recover 1 hit dice on a long rest, use my spells before you use your second hit die.

Gazul Ironfist |

”There we go. A real roof! Aye, let’s bury the body. Also, anyone able to pick a lock? The sod has no use for whatever is inside, Magrim rest his soul.” He added, lest he come across as being too insensitive.

Katra Ironfist |

Action 2:
At Sarya's reminder of the traps, Katra goes back outside, uses a couple of branches to set them off, then collects them. She returns just in time to hear the discussion about burying the body.
Action 3:
"Would it be easier to bring the others here, or take the food back to the others?" Katra asked of no one in particular.
In the Morning:
"I think we should head to the ranger's redoubt. It's closer than the logging camp, and there may well be rangers there that can help us."

![]() |

Action 2
Sarya noted to the others "I would prefer to bring the villagers here as soon as possible. That place where they are is not well defended, nor is it protected from the elements. They have no training to be in the woods by themselves, and the more they stay there, the more dangerous for them it is."
Afterwards, she suggested they brought the survivors as soon as possible, not even wait for the next day. Then, she said "It's not necessarily safer here. I mean, if there are bear traps, it means that there are probably bears. But the traps can be reset."
About the arms over the hearth, the elf asked "Are any of these magical?"

Cheshire Silvanshee |

The gnome moved over and looked at the items. He shrugged, "I wish that was something I could do easily." He looked at Kudvathalas, "You?" The gnome studied the items.
