Apologies for repeating my question, but does an apprentice cleric has to choose between Warpriest and Cloistered Cleric? I don';t really know if I have to pick a doctrine :)

Here are the stats for Ghida. Still working on her back story - hope to have that later today.

Here are the rules for a 0 Level Character again for ease of reference.

@Kamira - Looking again, I would say you don't pick a doctrine. You simply get the skills Religion (for your class) and Deception (for your Deity) in addition to the 2 + Int Mod. You also gain access to just two cantrips. Does that help?

@Ghida - What background did you choose?

Here is a little scene with Ghida. I've also added extra background info to her stat sheet.

Spoiler:
The yard of the Open Hand Retreat was the perfect place to impress the visitors. The high trees and thick bushes proved ideal for demonstrating her acrobatic arts. Once every week, the sisters allowed her to show off and take in a few donations for the Retreat. She would climb trees, spin around branches, and jump over hedges, all to the applause of the rapt spectators. It was that, not the coin, that Ghida craved.

This week was different. Ghida was doing some warm-up exercises before her performance, when Sister Emelshan approached her, suddenly. "Ghida, I'm sorry but we're not doing the show today. Sister Alina has taken ill and we need you to tend the fields for her - you had better get started." The good sister seemed uncomfortable, anxious to usher Ghida away. As they walked back to the retreat, Ghida caught a glimpse of a strange man among the crowd that had already started to gather. Sister Berla, the mistress of the Retreat, stood next to him, hissing at him to leave. The man, well built with an odd tinge to his skin, clearly with some orc-blood, remained calm. He would occasionally glance to Ghida, giving the faintest of smiles, almost as if knowing her. Before she could even react, she was whisked away.

That evening, she dreamed of her mother, or least what she had created of her in her mind. She never knew her mother - the closest she had experienced was with Sister Adebel. She was kind to Ghida. But the sister left the Retreat mysteriously when Ghida was still a young child. She had cried that day. The sister knew her father and had promised to one day tell Ghida of him, but that tale left with her. As the vision of her mother began to wane, a soft yet somehow sinister tune began to swell in her mind. It was almost too uncomfortable to bear - she sprung awake, screaming...

@Ghida - Did you add your Class Boost to the character build? If so, please remove it. You only add Ancestry, Background, and four free boosts. No Class Boost.

If not, could you walk me through how you got your stats?

Also, I think she should have 9 HP, not 8 (8 for Ancestry +1 for Con). For some reason, HeroLab is not adding the +1.

Two boosts for ancestry, thank you, I forgot that.

Still unable to get to character crunch. Should have time tomorrow night...

I'm still waiting to see if the alchemist will join us.

@everyone - Could each of you possibly give me the name of an NPC that you have contact with? This could be a sibling, neighbour, servant, or whatever.

There's Octavius Klein, Kamira's father. Otherwise, there's Uria, her current nanny.

Ghida would have contact with Sister Emelshan at the Open Hand Retreat (see fluff above).

In the village; children of the villagers: Kap, Red, Tod, Vimi and Bek. Hsoa knows them a little, but is a bit of a newcomer to their group. Tod is a bit cold toward Hsoa, for no reason apparent to Hsoa.

At home; his mother Hska, father Pkkaktch and gnarly old gramma Gkstask.

I’m about to start in another 2e game so will make the characters over the next few days...

Okay, it looks as though we may have lost one already. I'll get this game started first thing tomorrow morning (5/11). I'll be adding some level 0 NPC's to this game.

As far as everybody else, you all look good. Be prepared.

Oh, I did forget one thing, you will not be starting off with any equipment, just the clothes you were sleeping in. Don't worry, gear will be available fairly quickly.

Poll: Let the Ratfolk go or ambush?

Grand Archive

Female Human (Half-orc) Monk Apprentice 0 | HP 3/9 | AC: 15 | Fort: +3; Ref: +5; Will: +2 | Per +2 | Speed 25 ft | Hero Points: 1/3

Ghida votes to ambush him - knock him unconscious without killing him - then grab his keys. There may be more doors to unlock to get out of this place.

Knowing that she'd be no match for the Ragfolk, Kamira won't try to take him down on her own, preferring to play dead. If physically stronger children jump on him, she'll try taking him down.

Male Lizardfolk Sorceror (Apprentice) HP 9/9 | AC: 12 | Fort: +3; Ref: +4; Will: +5 | Init: +2 | Per +4 ; Spd 25 ft./ Swim 15ft. |

Oh. Seems I acted already. At least this should get his/her attention on Hsoa for others to act...

Just a note on dice rolls. From this point on, unless I state it's a secret roll or need to know your modifier, feel free to roll skill or perception checks.

Just a reminder to everyone, unless otherwise noted in your apprentice entry, you are only proficient with one simple weapon.

Based on her background, Ghida probably would have had proficiency with the staff.

Been very busy, getting to my games later today. Apologies for being MIA...

Okay, we're essentially at the end of my homebrew module. Would you all like to have a moment to RP what just happened, or would you like me to narrate your escape?

Either is okay for me! I'm so sorry Hsoa, I tried to help but I should have taken 10 >.<

Can't really do Take 10 in PF2E. The Assurance Feat is the closest thing you can do to Take 10.

I'm going to give Hsoa one more day to respond. If not I'll go ahead and write the end monologue.

I would like to thank each of you for participating in this module of my own design. Please feel free to provide any sort of critique about the module so I may tweak it for future use.

I will leave this open until 7/26 for input.

Thanks, GM! That was fun. I liked the apprentice character thing - a good intro for a larger campaign.

There wasn't anything that I feel needs changing.

Thanks again for running it!

I have to agree that PF2E does a better job at the young character concept than 1st edition.

Thanks a lot for this module!

I really liked it. The combats were challenging, neither too easy nor too difficult, and I very much enjoyed the horror-themed setting and characters. I think it really worked!

It'd be happy to bring back Kamira if there's a sequel :)

Not gonna lie, I'd be interested in seeing how that reunion between Kamira and possessed Shadei would go.

Also thanks for the comment on the fights. Though I think I still need to tweak the module a little to help with that last fight with the Piper. Those rats were a lot nastier than I anticipated.

Like a thinly veiled rewriting of Carmilla, except no one's sure who's supposed to be the monster and who's supposed to be the victim :P

Re-writing of who?

Grand Lodge

F Human Cleric (0)/ HP 6/9/ AC 12/T 12/ FF 10/ Saves: Fort +3/ Ref +2/ Will +7/ Perception +5/ Initiative +2/ Spells: 0/2

Sheridan Le Fanu's Carmilla, one of the first vampire stories! Long story short, a young, aristocratic woman named Laura lives alone in an Austrian castle with her father, until one day a carriage accident near their home results in them inviting a beautiful young lady named Carmila into their house. Then strange things begin to happen...

The plot centers on a "what's attacking all those poor girls" detective story which hasn't aged well given how familiar we have become with vampire tropes, but it's still genuinely creepy by some aspects.

I've read it for the first time years ago, in my native language, but I'm in the middle of re-discovering it thanks to this rather entertaining readthrough

Male Lizardfolk Sorceror (Apprentice) HP 9/9 | AC: 12 | Fort: +3; Ref: +4; Will: +5 | Init: +2 | Per +4 ; Spd 25 ft./ Swim 15ft. |

I enjoyed this much better the second time, though to be honest I don’t remember actually meeting the Piper the first time. Could just be my memory though.

I think I need much more PF2e play to get used to the system, but I do enjoy it a lot - Ican see it is much easier to do “apprentice”, though it hasn’t really helped me (electric arc ad infinitum!!!!).

I’m up for continuing...
