Sorry guys, had to self isolate while I was waiting for someones COVID-19 test to come back. Fortunately, just came back negative now but it stuffed my last couple of days.
"There is a simple solution I think" Caitir remarks, opening up her backpack and carefully lifting out Amber, her owl familiar. She strokes the bird carefully for a moment before glancing at Mirana.
"Amber can fly down with you guys, carrying an object that Mirana could cast Light on. It would let you climb down safely, and ensure that you can see when you get to the bottom. Just be careful - Amber doesn't really do combat much" she adds as an afterthought, as she holds out the silver amulet for Mirana to cast Light on, before handing it to Amber to clutch in her talons.
Why don't owls get darkvision :(
Kunala
It's Cool, RL happens glad to hear your negative.
Came back to do a post for Kunala, saw Caitir's post, so edited Iradyiels post as well.
'That's a good idea. Kuala looks from Iradyiel to Caitir, "That's a good idea."
Nodding to Iradyiel the two of them getup and move towards the tunnel. He follows his brother to the tunnel and climbs down with him. When Iradyiel whispers up, Kunala repeats the message. "Send down Amber."
I'm assuming we may be in rounds. while Iradiel drops and moves, Kunala will climb down, so second round he will drop and draw.

Mite Lair Map Please forgive the map. Only the brothers and an owl are currently in the hole.
Moving forward we need to keep your owl in mind. I don’t think it would have been staying in a backpack these past few days. Make it part of your character, part of her body and personality. No more book back rides ;-)
Iradyiel and Kunala climb down this snug shoot into a dark room. Kunala cannot see a thing outside of the moonlight above. Iradyiel’s elven heritage blessed him with slightly better sight to see that they are in a roughly 15 foot dug out room. Sight is not needed to realize that both of you are not able to stand up straight in this room the ceiling is just shy of 5 feet tall. You know that this will cause difficulty if the rest of the lair is the same.
The call for Amber provides illumination to this room. There is nothing in this crudely carved room besides two more rough dug tunnels that go deeper into the earth. One is to the west(left) and one is to the east(right). The light from Amber shines into the two tunnels, but the rough dug nature of the two tunnels will force you to crawl deeper to find what is within.
While the brothers crawl down Dhavik approaches Caitir; “What about them?” pointing to the kobolds with the but end of Iradyiels bow.
Caitir
Caitir carefully watches Amber flutter downwards, lighting the way up ahead. She was a little worried about her friend getting into trouble, but reasoned that with no sign of any watchers currently, things were probably fine.
At Dhavik's question she glances away from the hole and looks at him. "From what I understand, they advised that they won't be joining us. Defeating the mites seems to be our task. Its a little frustrating but at least its means we don't have to be as worried about them stabbing us in the back if they think better of our alliance."
I'm fine with making Amber part of her character, but I think she absolutely would be staying in the backpack - save for maybe stretching her wings a little around the campfire.
The problem is that its not a great idea to have your familiar sitting on your shoulder or flying around randomly while investigating hostile territory (particularly with bandits in the area). I'm making an exception now to push an interaction but in reality its a little OOC to be doing this as its not a smart move. As Amber has just 4 HP (until Caitir gains a level), a single stray arrow basically ends her. I could have Caitir retrain her feats and go Mauler Wasp Familiar which would make her familiar a little tankier and then get a bit more 'screen time' but then I wouldn't be able to take an Improved Familiar like I had initially planned for.
Iradyiel Madras
So not to stick my nose in, but wouldn't the owl be nocturnal? Sleeping in the pack in the daytime, awake at dusk and dawn and more active at night?
Keeping his head ducked, Iradyiel shifts the grip on his sword, pointing to his left, "May as well start that way. He then begins to move down the tunnel, keeping a keen eye out, as Kunala moves the dancing lights slightly ahead of him.
Moving at half speed, taking 10 (20) on perception. What is the subtractors for fighting in short ceiling environment? Since were using light, I don't know if we need to bother with a stealth roll.
Kunala
'Good, everyone got down in one piece.' Casting 'Dancing lights' Kunala draws his sword and shield, looking at the others. "Good, everyone ready to go?"
Nodding in agreement with Iradyiel, he moves the four lantern-like lights in a small group in front of his brother as they move down the south eastern hallway.

Dhavik, crouching down in this short ceiling chamber, grunts; “Probably best they stay up there. No real leg room as it is.”
As Iradyiel heads left, Dhavik looks to the right path but doesn’t say anything or go further.
Iradyiel heading down first
The chamber might just be shy of 5-feet, but the tunnel that continues down forces each of you to crawl. The tunnel continues to lead down, but the winding nature of it with the roots gives you easy handholds not to fall.
Popping your head out of the tunnel, it opens into another room that is larger than the first but still just shy of 5-feet. You see two crude, wooden workbenches, their tops strewn with various tiny tools, metal and wooden hardware, and blocks of wood. You see a pair of small bluish creatures scurrying about the room. You notice they have a miniature catapult rigged out of bones and branches. The two of them are taking turns firing caltrops at one another’s open mouth. When one misses the other laughs as it points at the other.
The floating orbs follow Iradyiel down the tunnel and illuminates all of this scene for him. But it also draws the attention of the creatures. The one jumps on the catapult and fires one at Iradyiel’s face as the other one begins to charge. The caltrop that is fired from the catapult strikes Iradyiel in the face. Iradyiel takes 1 DMG

With Iradyiel blocking the way no one can gain access until he moves. The tunnel is something you have to crawl through, you cannot bypass the person in front of you. Currently Iradyiel and Kunala are in the tunnel.
In the rooms with the low ceiling you receive a -2 on attack roles or any physical skill checks. In the tunnel you are considered squeezing
In some cases, you may have to squeeze into or through an area that isn’t as wide as the space you take up. You can squeeze through or into a space that is at least half as wide as your normal space. Each move into or through a narrow space counts as if it were 2 squares, and while squeezed in a narrow space, you take a –4 penalty on attack rolls and a –4 penalty to AC.
When a Large creature (which normally takes up 4 squares) squeezes into a space that’s 1 square wide, the creature’s miniature figure occupies 2 squares, centered on the line between the 2 squares. For a bigger creature, center the creature likewise in the area it squeezes into.
A creature can squeeze past a creature while moving but it can’t end its movement in an occupied square.
To squeeze through or into a space less than half your space’s width, you must use the Escape Artist skill. You can’t attack while using Escape Artist to squeeze through or into a narrow space, you take a –4 penalty to AC, and you lose any Dexterity bonus to AC.

Smiling at Dhaviks comment, Kunala nods and whispers, "True, but it takes a certain kind of coward to let someone else fight you battles for you." he then turns and follows his brother guiding the dancing lights down the hallway.
Now:
'Great, a low ceiling and dirt in my hair!' Moving the lights with his brother as he squezes through the tunnel Kunala realizes they have reached a room. Looking over Iradyiels shoulder he sees movement in the room just as Irayiel, gives a snarl.
after Iradyiel acts:
Pausing for a moment, he watches Iradyiel move forward and to the left, letting him see into the room. 'Two mites.. and is that a catapult?' Following his brother he tells him, "Get the one in the left south I'll get the one on the right."
Delay, double move, should put him west of Iradyiel and east of the northern mite

'I wish we could spread those light's out more.' Squinting from the lights floating around his head, Iradyiel realizes the cave has opened up and there is a room. Before he can tell the group that he see's the small bluish creatures playing their odd game, one fires a projectile his direction.
Flitching slightly to the left, he feels something sharp dig into his cheek, Snarling "Really?" Seeing the nasty little creature smile and jeer at him, Iradyiel, scrapes his head on the ceiling as he clumsily moves forward calling back to the others. "There are two of them!"
Hearing his brother say he would take the right, Iradyiel heads towards the creature on his left. Nearing it, he thrusts carefully at it's big head with tip of his falchion.

The brothers move forward in tandem to attack out at the mites. Iradyiel is able to move up and strike down the mite that flung a caltrop at him, while Kunala steps up between the other mite and his brother.
Dhavik moves into a defensive position; “You two get down there and help out, I’ll bring up the rear and make sure nothing follows.”

@Kunala Did he draw his blade after crawling through the tunnel? I know it doesn't say he did... if so then he gets an AoO
Kunala AoO: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17
Kunala DMG: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
@Kunala also, I don't know how I missed it before but when I was looking at your sheet to find your attack/damage for the AoO I noticed Kunala had Power Attack and one of the Prerequisites for it is a BAB of +1. You will need to find another feat to replace that since Bards have a BAB +0 at level 1. Sorry about that. I'm not sure how I missed it.

I said he drew the blade and shield before they entered the tunnel. Since it is a 5 ft ceiling I thought he could 'crouch' but if he was 'crawling on hands and knees' he would have had to put the shield and weapon away. Entering the room, He wouldn't be able to move and draw at the same time, the whole + 1 BAB, so if he had to crawl, he would have moved 30 ft into the room and drawn the sword.
Yikes! I missed that too, not used to playing characters that aren't full combat...will change it to combat reflexes.
DM Squirrel Ninja Kingmaker
@Kunala thanks so much for the link to it. The tunnels between are smaller and more of a need to crawl, but is doable with a blade in front of you without rushing. And no worries about the PA feat. It happens. Combat Reflexes is a solid feat, one that is undervalued in my In-Person gaming group.

The mite lets out a little shriek before it turns to run away down the tunnel to the south. Kunala takes the opportunity to strike out with his Aldori dueling sword, cutting down the Mite with a single swing.
As the sound of its body falling to the ground dies, only the sounds of the party remain.
We are effectively out of rounds.

Turning as Iradyiel asks about the statue, Kunala shakes his head "I don't think even we're that lucky." He turns to Dhavik and asks, "Dhavik, would you mind watching the hallway while we search this room?" Bending over further, He checks the dead mite, then begins searching the room as well.

Bringing up the rear, you can see clear disappointment on Dhavik’s face when he sees that the two mites have been taken care of before arriving; “You made quick work of that… sure thing, I’ll watch the tunnel.” seeing that there is another tunnel ahead; “This one we came through or the one up there?” He moves to guard whichever tunnel he is told to guard.
Looking through the remains of the mites, you find them each to have a small sized dagger and their tattered clothes. Nothing else. Looking around you find a small pile of caltrops lying beside the caltrop launcher. Gathering them, you have enough for 2 uses. The caltrop launcher is something that you could take with you, but with an easy check you are not sure how well it will continue to hold together.
You also find some crude tools and other scrap parts that the two mites were using to craft their creations.

seeing that there is another tunnel ahead; “This one we came through or the one up there?” He moves to guard whichever tunnel he is told to guard.
This confused me slightly, is there another tunnel exiting the room Kunala and Iradyiel were in?
'No reason to leave weapons around for someone else to use on us.' Picking up the caltrops and the small daggers as he moved around the room, Iradyiel eventually makes his way to the catapult, shaking his head. "Maybe we should have taken them back to see if they could repair our catapults." Shrugging, he sets the falchion down for a moment and pulls the small catapult apart. "No reason to let anyone use it against us."
He then returns the way they came, nodding to Dhavik, "Looks like everyone else must be down the southeast passage way." Waiting momentarily for Kunala to send the dancing lights, falchion in hand, he begins to creep down the south-eastern corridor.
Iradyiel will take 10 (20) on perception in the southeastern corridor

Gesturing towards the main entrance Kunala answers Dhavik, "The southwest corridor entrance I guess." He turns looking around the room, picking up the tools the mites used, Turning to Mirana, he asks, "Do you think any of this is magical?"
'He's right, we don't want to leave any weapons, but none of this seems right.' Watching as Iradyiel destroys the catapult, he turns and follows his brother out of the 'craft room.' Onec in the main entrance he gestures towards the other corridor. "Shall we?" Sending his dancing lights down the southeastern hallway, crouching he follows Iradyiel into the southeast corridor.

I am so sorry. It is hard to tell on the map, I did not leave enough of the path showing. In the room you are currently in there is the entry to the right you came through to get into this part where you found the two mites. Then in the bottom left corner of this room there is a path leading down. That is actually where the mite was heading towards before its demise.
I will wait to reply incase things might change in what you posted above.

"Maybe we should have taken them back to see if they could repair our catapults."
'Perhaps, but more likely the kobolds wouldn't have tolerated us bringing them back with us - and anyway, they attacked us on sight. I doubt it would have been easy to bring them back" Caitir remarks dryly, examining the room now that combat wasn't ongoing.
"That was some nice bladework, you two cut right through them" she continues before bending down to check the corridor ahead for any traps that might have been laid.
Taking 20 on Perception as well, hunting for traps though mostly.

Mirana gazes at the mites a little sadly. Like it or not they were still creatures of the First World, and she still felt a little bit of a connection to them despite having never met these particular creatures before. They shouldn't have reacted so aggressively...although I don't really blame them so for acting like they did. They were probably worried about strangers in their home she reflects, feeling a little guilty for the alliance they were making with the kobolds.
Pushing the feelings down, she focuses on the task at hand focusing first on the room, as well as any significant items to see if she could detect any magical traces.

Dhavik post up to guard the way the party came through and readies his bow; “Nothing will come through without catching an arrow first. Keep an eye out on the tunnel ahead, who knows what else is down here that might have heard that one die.”
The rest of you take a look around in this room. All of the tools are crudely made and not exactly anything that would produce something that would last long. They are more tinkering tools that could craft “one shot” items. As Iradyiel makes his comment about bringing them back to repair the ones at the Trading Post, he gives it a second look and realizes that if you were to move the catapult that it would possibly fall to pieces, and indeed it does as he easily pulls it to pieces.
Scanning the room with her Detect Magic, Mirana finds that all of the tools and items in this room are mundane non-magical items.

The walls of this egg-shaped cavern are obscured by thick tangles of long, pallid roots. To the east, the chamber opens into a wide, root filled chasm.
Poking your head in, you see six mites tormenting a kobold that is tied to the roots along the wall. It is one of four that have been captured and tied up. From the look of it, the other three are dead and hang limply in their bonds.
The last kobold shrieks in pain as the six mites take turns poking it with sharp sticks, each shriek bringing forth a fresh wave of giggles and cheers from the mites.

Before he heads down the hallway.
'That will drive Kunala crazy, the only thing he hates more than me coming up with a silly idea is someone entertaining it.' Smiling that his comment about mites got a little teaction, Iradyiel holds up the pices of the broken catapult. "Maybe not a good idea, anyway. The device didn't seem that well made."
Dropping the pieces of broken catapult as Caitir compliments them, he gives a sweeping bow, "Yes, poking a two foot critter with a four foot sword is difficult." He turns and looks at the mite Kunala killed. "That one was moving fast, but I'll give him this, Kunala has quick wrists."
The hallway
Seeing everyone was ready and Kunala was moving the dancing lights into the hallway. Squeezing into the tunnel, Iradyiel notices lights ahead, Turning to his brother he whispers, "Light ahead, Kill the magic." He then moves forward, as quietly as possible, Hethen peaks into the room seeing the mites torturing the kobold. Not seeing a rock the rock in the tunnel, he accidently kicks it out into the room. Rolling his eyes, not bothering to whisper any more, "Six mites!"

They do not seem to notice you... the mites are overly engaged in the torturing of the kobold prisoner. What do you/all of you do next? I can roll initiative, but you currently have a surprise round if you want to act on it.
If some but not all of the combatants are aware of their opponents, a surprise round happens before regular rounds begin. In initiative order (highest to lowest), combatants who started the battle aware of their opponents each take a standard or move action during the surprise round. You can also take free actions during the surprise round. If no one or everyone is surprised, no surprise round occurs.

Drawing her rapier, she locks eyes with the kobold in the center of the mites. She wasn't sure how much help it would really due, but hopefully at least talking to the kobold might reduce some of the panic and confusion it might be feeling at the current developments.

As his mite drops, hearing his brothers blade strike the wall, Iradyiel glances over seeing the stone chips fly, he gives a slight smile. "Come on Bro, it's just one little...." Stopping mid-sentence Iradyiel feels the hairs on the back of his neck rise as the mites in the back begins to chant. Pulling his leg back just in time to keep the nearer mite from stabbing him. Glaring past the mite that attacked him, He hisses, "We need to get to the ones in the back." he then makes a quick chop with his falchion at the mite that tried to stab him.
No movement Full attack: low ceiling, Falchion
attack: 1d20 + 4 - 2 ⇒ (14) + 4 - 2 = 16 for damage: 2d4 + 6 ⇒ (4, 1) + 6 = 11
Kunala
'Com on Bro? Does he think I missed on...what's that.' Feeling the magic spinning about him, Kunala ignores his brothers comment, distracted he looks at the two chanting mites. Returning his focus to the fight at hand, he just barely lowers his shield in time to deflect the mites knife.
Hearing Caitir call out to the Kobold, 'Good he knows were with him, don't know if the Kobold can be any help, at least he might distract the two casters.' he glances at his brother, being only slightly sarcastic. "You think?"
Thrusting his longsword at the mite again, he calls back to Dhavik, "You better hurry, they tried to use a spell, now Iradiels is really annoyed." if he drops the mite he will 5 ft step forward into the mites square.
Full Attack low ceiling: longsword, possible 5 ft step
attack: 1d20 + 4 - 2 ⇒ (12) + 4 - 2 = 14 for damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6

Updated Map
Both Iradyiel and Kunala’s attacks strike true. Iradyiel’s Falchion cleaves the mite straight through shoulder to waist and falls to the ground in two. The two mites to the back look panicked by the ease of the brothers to cut through the other mites.
Caitir and Mirana are up!
Caitir
I think that I am still 5-10 feet away from being able to hit the mites in melee w/ Caitir (assuming I'm counting correctly on the map). Let me know if I have this correct. If not, I'll change my action slightly to include an offensive action (I think regardless of Caitir's movement, Mirana will definitely still be out of reach anyway)
"Hey, leave some for me" Caitir grumbles in lighthearted fashion as she and Mirana pushes her way through the terrain, (hopefully) arriving in the thick of things.
Both Mirana and Caitir move up into the fray (maximum movement speed) before taking a standard action to use the Total Defense action should they still be out of reach to attack any of the mites.
Mirana Alvina
If Caitir has enough movement to get between those two boxes I'll feel pretty good. Gets be close enough to enter melee next turn and in the meantime discourages flanking options. As for Mirana, she still has difficult terrain to get through to probably somewhere a few steps behind Caitir but no real preference.

Updated Map
Both Caitir and Mirana move forward trying to get as close to the battle as they can. From the tunnel that everyone came through you can hear grunts and complaints as Davik brings up the read and tries to make it into battle.
The two mites up front both attack out with daggers, one on Kunala and the other on Iradyiel. Upon seeing how poorly his companions do in attacking the intruders, the mite in the rear makes a break for the opening in the back. You see him swing from roots down grow down into an opening but goes across into what appears to be another room. Not being lit, it is hard to tell what is beyond the root filled chasm.
The Kobold continues to struggle against its root restraints to no success.

assuming since Kunala's 14/6 dropped one mite, Iradyiels attack will drop this one, if not we can retcon.
Seeing the back mite fleeing, "Blast, that one is getting away!" Iradiel thrusts the tip of his falchion at the mite near him. As it falls he bolts after the mite.

Updated Map
As the mite flees from the group, Kunala and Iradyiel cut down the two standing in their way. Iradyiel begins to chase after the fleeing mite but stops just short of the chasm. Difficult terrain/30 ft movement…
As Iradyiel stops he sees a deep and ominous chasm splits the passage. The chasm is a few yards wide, but thick ropes of tangled roots fill the area that prevent full view of what lies below or beyond the chasm. The passage does continue on the far side of the cas, and between the two ledges, numerous loops have been tied into the roots to serve as hand and footholds.
Dhavik moves forward drawing an arrow and loosening it past Iradyiel into the roots. Looking at the fallen mites; “You couldn’t have saved one for me?”
We are technically “in rounds” still, but unless you continue the chase we can fall out of rounds. Your call.
